Had surgery here in February 2021, and in the post-op recovery room, nurses tried very hard to give me something that I was allergic to as indicated on the bright red band that the pre-op nurse applied to my arm. The post-op nurses then wanted to know why I was allergic to this drug and have a discussion about it even though I was coming out of anesthesia. Its a good thing my caregiver came to my bedside to point out the obvious to them...that all this had already been covered in pre-op and that they were NOT to give me something Im allergic to. A few days after surgery, I tried to get in touch with USP administration to talk about this concern, left messages with multiple people (including USPs Regional VP for Houston), and didnt get an answer or call back from a single one of them. If I need to have surgery in the future, it will not be at USP. That couldve been really bad for me, and no one seems to care about that at USP. Highly NOT recommended...
