Ive been to this location twice! It is absolutely Delicious! You can dine in and shop at the same time. They have a good hot plate menu made fresh daily and it is Amazing! Today I tried the stuffed shrimp and rice deboned chicken, with crawfish etoufe on the side and a side of green beans and 2 boudan eggrolls. The best dish ever! If you have not tried this location, you definitely need to check it out! 5 stars all the way!

Our favorite dish is the twice baked potato chicken, there is nothing NOT to love about this dish. Hot, flavorful with crisp chicken skin and delicious twice baked potato stuffed inside, and a generous potion too. While the twice baked potato is our favorite, the crawfished stuffed chicken is good to.

This place is a hidden gem! They have fresh, ready to order Cajun/ Creole food served at generous portions and at a reasonable price. The only place in Houston I know has boudin! The establishment is clean, the staff is friendly and I could tell it was a family owned business. I will be coming back again!

I have been ordering the Turducken from Herberts for the last 4 years. It has become a family favorite for Thanksgiving! Unfortunately, the quality was poor this year. It was not layered like years past. Turkey at one end, chicken and duck at the other end. Stuffing was not layered between the different meats. I tried calling (on hold for 10 minutes for a manager-gave up) and emailing. Crickets. I have pictures of previous years that do not resemble the one we got this year (pictured). Disappointed. Had the BEST Po Boy sandwich I have ever eaten. The catfish was fresh, not frozen. The bread for the sandwich was also fresh, just simply amazing. Im looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other food.

Delicious food, large portions, and friendly folks. This was my first time to Heberts and I was blown away. I enjoyed my crawfish poboy, and even bought their well known stuffed deboned chicken. I cant wait to try everything on the menu.

Turducken for Thanksgiving is a must! It comes with cooking instructions and it tastes so good. the meat stays moist too. We also bought some gator sausage and crawfish sausage. both tasty. staff is efficient and friendly 👍🏼

I usually love your food but yesterday i got the boudin and it was the worst i have ever had in my life. it was soggy the insides you could not tell what it was there was no consitancy or anything that looked like rice in it. the skin was so soft you could not cut it. believe me when i tell you i will never eat your boudin again.

The food here is amazing. It’s the customer service that lacks. The big white guy behind the counter is not helpful. I purchased a stuffed duck before I left the store I notice it wasn’t the kind I wanted- I politely asked for a trade and his remarks “y’all are killing me”. No professionalism. I’m from a small town near Maurice, Louisiana the original place for Hebert’s and their customer service is exceptional. When you’re in a city this large, they don’t care about you. The store was filled with people and his remarks were very embarrassing. I’ll drive to Louisiana or the woodlands before I ever spend another dime there.

Love this place! The two guys that work there and super friendly and unlike a lot of restaurants, they actually answer their phone when you call. They’re super polite and always have the Guzel cakes in stock when I need them.

Despite living in this area for 7 years and even eating at the burger place next door I never made it to Heberts and let me say- I am the one missing out. After finally making it there about a month ago I was so impressed. They have a large storefront with a huge variety of meats and sides to choose from. The best thing is the deboned chicken stuffed with twice baked potato, I have never had anything like it and could eat it day in and day out (plus it border on healthy with in being mainly a protein). Their spice blend is nice, not too spicy but gives a great taste to what can always be a bland meat. The prices are very reasonable. I got 2 stuffed deboned chickens and 2 stuffed pork chops for under $40. Make sure to read the cooking instructions as it is not a fast process but I promise you it is worth every minute you spend waiting.

They have a lot of speciality meats that you dont fine in the regular grocery store. They have stuff quails which are hard to find most places have quails, but not stuff with pork.

My in-laws were going to Heberts in Louisiana since the 70’s so I was lucky to have been able to eat those chickens for many years. They went to heberts each year and stocked an ice chest full of their specialty items at least 40 chickens at a time and I was married to an only child so I got all the special things. I just had a chicken for supper last night and ohh so delish crawfish stuffed with rice our favorite!!!

Heberts (pronounced A-Bares, they will correct you) is a great local butchery store. There is something about specialty stores that make preparation of the food an ounce better. Perhaps it is psychological but when my father or I order meats for a grill out or a special dish for a dinner party Heberts can it happen.Our first experience was a referral when we tried to order rabbit for a french country dish! Heberts had it in stock and at a reasonable price! This one point alone sold my father on it. Me however? It was the helpfulness of the staff and the knowledge of different cuts and such especially when I asked about what I was whipping up.Get any kind of poultry stuffed here. They claim their claim to fame is their Turdunken....I have yet to try it. But seriously, they can stuff anything with great taste! Remember now this place has a Cajun influence so there will be explosions of flavor and spice...but the good kind I promise.

Heberts NEVER disappoints! My sister didnt want Turkey this year for Thanksgiving so I ordered the Broccoli Cheese Rice Stuffed Chicken and had it sent to Michigan so she my brother, parents and I could enjoy! Thank you for the extra special care with making sure my package was delivered on time!

This was a very special find. This place is not for everyone. This is a place you go to for good Cajun, and interesting fun dishes as well. The dirty tots where amazing. The eggroll boudin was pretty good. The blackened shrimp and catfish pi boy was good and the daily roast beef plate was solid. Every thing ordered was a large portion. If you dont like fun, interesting food given in large portions this is not the place for you. Prices where reasonable for what you where receiving. They also have a market with loads of unique stuffed or seasoned meat.A wide variety from loaded baked potato stuffed chicken, to hamburgers. From stuffed rabbit, to sausage and boudin for sale by the pound or package. They did have regular seasoned chicken or ribs. Prices are kinda high but the food looks good and fun to try at home.This was a fun place to find. The atmosphere was good and staff was very friendly.Thank you for the great experience 😊

Ive enjoyed their stuffed catfish and stuffed chicken for a few years now. This is great Cajun food at a simple store that is stocked full of processed meats prepared with Cajun spices. They have to-go lunches that come with traditional sides along with the meat, rice and etouffee. They now have a seating area.

Excellent ready-to-cook and tasty meals. If youve never been here, try the deli. If you want to cook something, try the whole, boneless chickens stuffed with rice dressing (theyre my favorite). Cook in oven, or better yet put on bbq pit or smoker for an incredible, yet savory dish.

Even Aggies love Cajun cooking...and this place is a CAJUN MECA for any man, woman, or child who loves cajun culinary delights. Stuffed chicken and Turduckens to die for, seriously! Just pop it in the oven, slice through it with a knife and no bones...everything from marinated steaks, gumbo, alligator sausage...and now even serving hot prepared lunches! Tried just about everything...all good. Original store in Maurice, LA just a few miles from my hometown of Abbeville, LA. Used to stock up on stuffed chickens, fresh sausages, crawfish pies, stuffed pork chops and just about everything else when visiting home. Now can stock up when in The Woodlands, TX. Same good stuff. Im a real cajun so everything seasoned the way I like it. My wife is a hillbilly from West Virginia and thinks some of the stuff is too hot (pepper) but eats it anyway because everything so good.

I can always find something for Dinner when I shop here.
