8/25/21Update:Decking crew did show up on 8/18 to form the decking for concrete. Concrete crew showed up on 8/24 to pour. I now have the decking around the pool.I was contacted this afternoon that plaster would be scheduled for tomorrow 8/26. However, I would need to make the final two payments beforehand. My problem with this request is they are asking to be paid 100% in full prior to the work being completed 100%. I offered to pay the larger of these two payments but hold the last and smaller payment until the work was complete and I was fully satisfied. There are several punch list items that need to be addressed and my fear is there will be no incentive for them take care of these items in a timely manner if they have been fully paid. I have expressed this to the pool company but have not received a response. I have deleted all previous photos and have added those that prove what Im saying here; completed deck, no plaster and punch list items. As mentioned in a previous post I will be providing a final review of this company once my project is complete. I will provide a rating in several categories I believe are important when searching for a reputable pool builder.9/11/21Update.The company understood my concern regarding the final two payments. The larger payment was made and the plaster was installed on 8/27/21. We now have a useable pool. Attached a few photos. We have actually been able to enjoy some pool time over the last couple of weekends. This entire pool installation has been a long exhausting process but can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.Here we are 2 weeks later however and none of the punch list items have been addressed. Ive reached out to the construction manager who agreed with the final payment arrangement but have not received a response.I hope these few remaining items can be complete next week.If so, I will close this story with one final review of Richards Total Backyard Solutions.If not however, the review will continue until then9/21/21Update-Well the story continues. Finally got in touch with the construction manager Stacy. Apparently he had a plan that I wasnt made aware of.His plan? To be 100% complete with EVERYTHING, total sign off, final inspection and done by 9/24/21. He shared this plan with me on 9/14/21. Ive heard nothing and nothing has been done since the Big Plan Reveal. Three days remaining, my expectations are low.9/29/2021Well, they sent their guys out to repair the broken concrete.Check out their quality of work. SMH

This is our second time using Richards Total Backyard Solutions and also the second time we had Jose Zepeda as project manager. We ran into a couple of snags with the decking and scheduling of the start up for the pool heater but, nothing Jose wasnt able to take care of. The job was complete within a month and my family has been able to enjoy our custom made pool! We highly recommend using them

Angel and Jose Rivera are very professional men. Their enthusiasm and their attitude excel. They diagnosed the problem with my spa and quickly did their repairs and left a very happy customer. ***UPDATE***Garrett and the Richards team have completely turned our project around. Since the first review the team has completed the patio extension and we are now waiting for it to cure before the deck spray is applied. Expecting the landscaping cleanup to be completed soon also. Final step will be installation of the outdoor kitchen when all the pieces are in. We are well pleased with the amount and pace of progress. Communication with the team has also greatly improved.*Original Review*Terrible service, will take your money and do nothing with it. We are going on three month paid in full, on a simple 350 Sq ft. patio extension and have barely a hole in the ground and some rusty rebar to show for it. Our PM Garrett is impossible to get on the phone for updates. Finally came to the job site over a month and a half after contact was signed and paid. Simply blames the rain for delays. Idk how the rain delays dropping a gas line for the fire pit or running an extra electrical outlet. If the concrete guys get a break in the rain and want to pour they cant cause the gas line hasnt been ran! We planned on building a pool with them but since they cant be trusted to build a patio thatll never happen. Trust me, pick anyone else.

WOW - is the best way to describe the best work in town. Richards build our pool but we needed to have some tile in the hot tub and spillway replaced. Kristen with the Renovations Team went above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service. She is thorough, professional, and above all caring. Kristen provided the most unbelievable contractor for the tile. His team was meticulous and the craftmanship is flawless. I couldnt be happier!

Richards TBS designed and built a beautiful pool in our backyard.Nick created a beautiful design. We asked for a simple, geometric design and he delivered something within our budget. Nick also gave us recommendations throughout the sales process understanding our wants and tailoring the equipment to meet those requirements.After the sales process was over, we interacted only with Rachel. She was our project manager and was very responsive to my millions of questions. She even made a special trip over a weekend to walk us through a few concerns we had along the way. We had some issues after the build completion where a few tiles didnt seal properly and she sent the crew back out to ensure it was fixed.It is only 2 months since completion, so I cant comment on longevity. So far however, things have been good.This was our first time to have a pool constructed and we interviewed several pool companies. Richards was recommended to us from a friend who had their pool built by them. They were competitive on price, offers a solid lifetime warranty (non-transferrable though!), and were knowledgeable. Nick talked us out of a few things that would add-on cost but werent really needed for us. I did research after our meeting and everything that he said checked out - contradicting some other pool companies.Overall, we had a great experience with Richards and would recommend them.

I had the pleasure to have Jose Rivera come and fix the heater for my Pool/Spa. Jose came on time, had all parts ready and fixed the problem quickly and professionally. 5 Stars all day.

I was extremely surprised to see the positive reviews after the experience we have had. We have had several issues with the construction of our pool the biggest one being lack of communication and follow through. We started working on design and everything in July. Dig did not get started until December and probably wouldn’t have even then if we did not follow up. Supposed to be a 6-8 week project that is still not complete. It felt like we had to manage our own project constantly having to follow up on open items and even then the response back is so difficult to get. We still have leaking equipment that we don’t know when it is supposed to be fixed. We also were told about pool school to learn to use the equipment and maintain. I have asked multiple times what this is and when we can do it. I finally called the main number today to ask about it and I was told the next one is not until May 15th. That’s a month and a half away to be able to understand how everything works, it’s unacceptable. I got transferred to someone who was supposed to get someone out this weekend to help us and she said she would call me back today but of course no call. This is really disappointing that this is how Richards does business. I don’t think our requests on status updates have been unreasonable, it has become very frustrating.

We lost our booster pump to the freeze. Once Richards was able to find the correct size, Jose came out and replaced the leaking one. There was a mix up with the pump size but Paula quickly resolved the issue. Jose R. is great! Very knowledgeable and helpful...especially helping me set up the Pentair app. Gave us his number in case we had any other questions or needed additional help. Pool is fully back up running. Looking forward to a relaxing summer poolside!

Great customer service. Had an issue with a new build pool, Richard’s made it right and Jonathan A., specifically went above and beyond to ensure the pool didn’t overflow while we were out of town, stopping by TWICE in the middle of the night to check on the water levels. Rating is for Angel the technician who provided service today to replace light bulb on EP e500 and even helped get our WiFi working so we could use Fit@home app - which required contacting EP tech support. My wife and I just purchased our hot tub and we couldn’t be happier. From start to finish everything was great. We worked with Torah and she helped us find the perfect hot tub. She was very nice and showed us around the store and gave us valuable insight without pressuring us. She wasn’t focused on the sale, she was focused on us getting exactly what we wanted in a hot tub. Kristen, the delivery manager, was very helpful. We had a last minute change and needed to add a few accessories to our hot tub. She was able to quickly process our changes and made sure everything was delivered on time. She called us to let us know what to expect. She was able to answer my questions and was very knowledgeable. Our delivery team consisted of Bryan, Rob and Ivan. All three of them were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a lot of questions and they knew the answer to everything I asked. They handled our hot tub with care while getting it off of the trailer and into the backyard. The hot tub is very heavy but these guys handled it like pros. They were able to get the hot tub into the exact spot we wanted it. Overall it was a great experience from start to finish. The service/installation was excellent.After initial installation, called and service guys came out and corrected the issue . The guys were polite, knowledgeable and courteous.The electrician, Kevin and his helper, were prompt and knowledgeable . He was very friendly and polite.The installers, David, Innocent and Bryan were excellent. They (David and Innocent) explained how to properly care for my Spa and change the filters. They conducted Spa school. Bryan came by the second day when I had a issue with my spa heating and he and Innocent corrected the issue within 30 minutes.Cory the salesman was attentive and polite.

Extremely disappointed with the service that so far they have performed. We started the pool and kitchen construction back on May 2019, and as of today they still havent finish and there is no clear end on sight. I have requested to my assigned gral contractor Thuan-Anh Nguyen and directly to the owner JR for a schedule of progress to at least know when we will finish and so far the answer is we dont know or simple dont seven mind replying.I am posting this review to beware future clients, but also to give a chance to this company to do what they are suppose to be doing. The in-store staff and the delivery team were both knowledgeable and helpful in aiding us in our first hot tub purchase. They were always available to answer our questions and were very accommodating if we needed to make any adjustments to how the spa was placed and setup. There were a couple hiccups with routing the conduit around the cover cradle and the spa cover locks, but they were successful in re-routing electrical conduit and mounting the cover combo locks. Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase and recommend Richards TBS to anyone in the market for a new hot tub.

The recent freeze and power outage resulted in some of our pipes and equipment cracking. I’m sure RTBS has hundreds of customers calling for repairs after the storm, so I was pleased when Jose showed up ready to repair our system today. He got it back up and running in under an hour. Unfortunately, we discovered the heater needs to be replaced, but Paula got that ordered today as well. Really appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of the service team.

After 11 months and 93,000 after my swimming pool has not been completed from the beginning it was a head ache we signed the contract in june 2020 and up to now there is some issues that have not been completed this company dont send nobody to check the subcontractos this are the issues that i had during the process1. The dig, they took forever to gunite that hole caved in2 the gunite. They forgot to place the lights sleeve, didn’t read the blue prints3. The plumbers they installed the pump piping wrong and also they left the work incomplete and left , i had to be making phone calls so they can cone back4 the plumbers didn’t install the slide piping correct5. Rebar company didn’t read the blue print and did a seating area where the step were supposed to be7. Tile company installed damage tile in the pool and when you tell them to replace it the come out with excuses not to take it off8. Concrete decking leaves uneven surfaces9. The plaster company plastered and covered one of the spa lights and leave the plaster with white spots10. The electrician left the light niche in the spa uneven and it has a big bump in the light11. After you pay the whole amount of the pull they still left stuff uninstall as automation and slide not connected12. Swimming pool was paid two months ago and still job not completed13 spa jet not working14 company never send someone to clean the site at the end15. Not training on how to use equipment17. Construction manager not visit the site only once at the end because all my complains18. Project manager wasn’t present when they plastered, or gunited, decking etc.19. They filled out the pool but they don’t tell you what to do or nothing no training20. You have to pay in advance for the project and when they get the money they forget about you21. Bad customer service the construction manager is always on mettings22. When they finish my spa water was draining to the pool leaving the spa with no water23. No training to use the swimming pool pump i had to check you tube videosAfter almost a year this has been the worst experience that i ever had i spent my life savings for something that is not finished yet and i have headaches just to have it done, for everything that i put i have pictures and documents this project has been paid and not completed and they dont give you dead lines, i will never recommend this company with nobodyI just called today to see if they can comeback and finish my slide and they are in a meetingUpdateTwo weeks has passes and we still have the same issues no solutions swimming pool has been paid in full two months ago

Bryan and Christian delivered and installed our new Hot Spring spa and did a great job! They notified us when they were on their way and arrived on-time. We added a few accessories to the spa and Bryan and Christian made multiple trips to get everything installed. Everything appears to be working great. We have enjoyed using the spa already.

The service team at Richard’s are very responsive and go above and beyond when looking into equipment concerns. Paula was quick to respond, worked with schedule considerations and was great to do business with. Jose was assigned to the appointment and was prompt, worked quickly and spent time educating me on several topics that I needed some additional information about. He left the pool in perfect shape for the coming weekend! It was actually his second time visiting and has demonstrated the same strong work ethic both times. Great experience with Richards. TBS! Starting from the design, working with Jonathan Gill was awesome. He designed a great pool for our family that was within our budget. Stacey Ward was able to help tweek and answer project related questions during our meeting. The best was working with Bray Vincent our construction manager. Bray was honest and easy to work with. He would always keep us inform our our timeline and what to expect. He answered questions honestly and was willing to listen to our concerns. He managed the entire projext professionally and met and exceeded our expectations. Overall, we are in love with the pool Richards built. Its simple and beautiful.

I would like to start by saying the the stars are for my PM Garrett Egbert. He is the only reason that I have not called the BBB, Jesus and any other authority regarding this build. He has been responsive, professional, and friendly. He has tried very to move this project forward after it sat and was dropped in his lap.The salesman/designer for our pool was professional as well. Heres where things start to go wrong. We were told that ours pool would be completed by Christmas 2020 and is is the 10th of March 2021 and the project is not complete. Mind you from August 2020 to November 2020 nothing had been done. The initial dig did not occur until November 2020. Dealing in real estate for many years and over seeing multiple projects I already know this is a problem.After the paperwork was complete and the financing was secured it was dead silence, crickets. I had to make several phone calls for a month before anything happened. I was eventually told that our file had sat on the desk of someone who no longer worked their and someone would be contacting us soon.Delay after delay after delay on top of additional expense that should have been noted from the beginning. In our initial consultation we were inform that any issue with the backyard sprinkler would be handled by Richards. After the issue became apparent we were told that we hand to handle it. After much discussion our new PM Garrett, had it taken care of. Then theres the issue of the electrical panel not being capable of handling the pools needs. How can something of this nature be missed in the initial walk thru. This error on Richards part cost us additional out of pocket expense. Tell me how do I have to pay for something and have to us your contractor.Contractors, where do you get them from Toys are Us. Numerous times it was asked that they make sure the yard was secured when they leave what a joke. I was nearly attacked by a large dog because of the failure to just secure the yard. We also, asked to be acknowledge when someone is in the yard also a joke. Then you have the scheduled no shows. That brings about another issues delays.This company has more excuses for delays than a guilty man going to jail. Due to the rainy season in December that was experienced it took them forever to move forward. Now we have a big muddy hole in an unprotected yard. Our PM would bring a pump to clear out the water and someone would take it. This happened several times preventing progress. Someone would come and work one day and nothing for several more days or weeks. the weather is bad is what was used, however several days of clear weather would go by without any work being done. This pool didnt start to have forward progress until the bank started calling.What an horrible decision it was to go with Richards for this pool build. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy. What a frustrating experience this has been.RUN, ITS A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET!

Richard built a brand new pool for me it barely 1 year old and it has a leak from the day it was built. They sent a leak repair company out 3 times. Each time they did same thing and found nothing no Richard representative was here at the time of the leak repair company being here. They are very unresponsive to phone calls and no customer service. Each time I call they have not return my calls.

Jose was able to identify the problem with our pool vacuum. Quickly and he always is very courteous and provides good customer service.

I am very disappointed with the work of Richard’s company. The promised deadline has not been met. I dont have an end date scheduled until today. My yard is full of mud and there is no precision data for this to end.The false deadline we received was 8 weeks of work. This pool should be ready for Christmas. However, no answers, no previous completion.

Richards spa delivery team of Travis, Bryan, Christian, Innocent, and David with Kristen Barrow as the delivery team manager was on time with an advance text when they were on their way with my new Tempo spa. Kristen had contacted us twice to ensure a successful and efficient delivery. Once the team arrived (3 techs) they realized an overhanging patio would obstruct the positioning of the spa without potentially being damaged. They discussed the problem and two additional people were sent to ensure the spa could get past the patio beam. The team was courteous and cleaned up the site after installation. A thorough startup presentation was provided. I recommend a Hot Spring spa purchase from Richards.

Kristen was very thorough and detailed in her communication, and she genuinely cared about resolving my issues to the best of her ability. Kristen understood my point of view as the customer, and that was absolutely critical for maintaining good business. Kristen will be the reason I recommend Richard’s as a company for backyard retreats. Thumbs way up for Kristen! Also, Christian was very knowledgeable with the spa delivery. He should be heavily involved early on in the sales process because he understands the details that go into setting things up. There were a lot of things that I would of considered differently had I spoken with Christian sooner.

Jose Rivera came out and replaced my pool autofill mechanism. He was on time, very friendly and very knowledgeable giving me great feedback and replacing the autofill. If you have any issues with your pool system request Jose Rivera, he is great.

Beautiful work done by Richards Total Backyard Solutions! We tore out our 26 year-old deck and gave the backyard a fresh update! At first we wanted to replace the deck with all stamped concrete, but Mr. Richard informed us that with so much movement in our property (and we know since we have had foundation work done twice on our house), it was best to look into natural stone pavers. BEST DECISION EVER! The natural stone pavers are gorgeous and really open up the space. We love our little backyard paradise!

Great experience with technician Angel. He called me first thing in the morning to give an ETA and he arrived at the time stated. He listen to my concerns and explained options for repairs and/or replace parts. I highly recommend Richards and be sure to ask for Angel.

My boyfriend and I bought a Hot Spring spa here and we would definitely come here again. From the moment we walked in and met with Nick DeStefano we had an amazing experience. Nick was very patient with all of our questions and he even spent a lot of time with us designing a backyard landscape for our new home. The installation team was great too, Ryan was also very patient and made sure we were totally satisfied. The only issue we had was a panel on our new spa came from the manufacturer with a gash, but it will be replaced. Five stars.

So far its been a very good experience. Met with the whole team and the design process has been great. We are really excited about our pool. Kristi has been a really great designer. Shes listens to all our crazy requests. Johnathan, the other designer helped out as well and was great. Even JR the owner personally sat in one of the design sessions which was nice. Will add pictures as the pool process begins and finishes.

Jose came to check my pool after the horrible freeze we had here in Texas. He diagnosed the issues and thoroughly explained what would happened next. He was very professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions.

Wow, our hot tub is absolutely beautiful! It looks even better than I visualized it looking. I love the LED Lights and the fountains the best. My spa-side table and chairs, my LED lit handrail!Jose and Angel were so professional and knowledgeable. They thoroughly explained all of the functions as well as the chemicals...how and when to test them! Explained different scenarios and how to address them. They were genuinely interested in helping us understand all of the bells and whistles! Kevin was great! Torah is absolutely AMAZING. .From walk in to the spa full And ready, the follow-through of all involved. Kristen called yesterday and today to make sure everything was ready and offered guidance if we needed it.The whole experience was outstanding and quite a pleasure. I am a Realtor and know lots and lots of people. I will definitely refer this group to anyone looking for pools and spas.

We LOVE our new Richards pool. Yes there are always frustrations and delays but the end product was superior. Our project manager was awesome..super attentive to our needs. We recently built our very first pool. We were nervous at first because we had heard many stories from family and friends. When we had our first meeting at Richards it really eased our nerves to know that we were dealing with a company that had lots of experience and would stand by their product. They outlined step by step the process and kept me very well informed of our project. Our pool was finished in 5.5 weeks! The Project Manager Bray Vincent was awesome! He did a great job at keeping me well informed on what was going on and they pretty much stayed on track with the project. Bray took care of any concern I had related to the pool project and ensured that I was always updated. I really enjoyed working with Bray on this project. Richards TBS did our pool and pergola for phase 1. We were very happy with the quality, time and service. They do very good work. We had them come out for phase 2 to extend our patio and decking around the pool.They worked with me closely to get the layout exactly like I wanted. They once again did another great job. Hailey has been incredibly helpful and attentive. Let me start by saying that reaching out for a pool quote has been challenging. Until today, we had not found a builder that was responsive or followed through on their commitment to quote. In the past week, we have reached out to a few builders. We purchased a hot tub at Richard’s. Starting with Kristen Barrow and going all the way through to installation, the customer service has been off the charts!! I’ve felt like a valued customer and have really appreciated her communication and care. The team that came to install our hot tub was the most professional trio of workers I’ve ever experienced! Bryan Mendez, Christian Garza and Innocense Ochiobi were all amazing to work with. As a team, they exemplified a great work ethic while being extremely polite, knowledgeable and hard working.
