Had my rear main seal go out on my coach. Coach is 1 year old and only had 8400 miles on it. Slow leaker that was actually leaking from Day 1 after I bought it but assumed it was a simple leaky gasket. Mahdi at Cummins was outstanding at getting my work authorized and completed. Did a great job at keeping me informed. I’ve read several comments on here that no one will call them back. Initially I had the same issue. The receptionist offered to go track him down. Once we made contact it was very smooth. E-Mail ultimately was my best way to communicate with Mahdi. It seems he is running like crazy writing these jobs up that maybe calls are going unanswered in voicemail. Regarding the work, no more leak. I’ve driven it about 2,000 miles since then and so far so good. Cummins I agree with others, initial contact communication is not very good.

Customer service was excellent. Really go the extra mile for full time RVers with Cummins Coach Care program. 50 amp hook up for overnight stay in their gated lot. Super C motorhome on Freightliner M2 chassis with Cummins motor towed in. Mechanic was checking for problem within the hour. Thankfully, easy fix of a new Freightliner starter. Got part the next morning. We were out by noon. Thanks Justin, Drew and crew.

Very disappointing visit. We took our diesel motorhome here for an oil change, filters and chassis lube, and an air dryer replacement. I was very clear as to what service we requested to both service advisors. We received a bill for over $ 1700 including a $321 inspection, generator oil change and service with filter, and changed our engine air filter. After arguing with them they removed the engine air filter and put ours back and adjusted the bill to over $970. We ended up staying another night because they were closing and had to settle up the next day. I’ll never be back here (Houston, TX) and will be reluctant to use Cummins for service. It was a bait and switch operation!😡

I had some truck issues and showed up here one morning. This is really for the Super Carriers. Its $600.00 just to diagnose your truck issues. Yep, thats before one single wrench is turned. Then its $173.00 an hour after that. These guys are A One certified Cummins Mechanics, so I have no doubt youll get what you pay for. All that was a little too rich my blood though and I had to go somewhere else! But, if I ever become a big time fleet owner Ill definitely come back here because I know for sure theyll do the job right the first time!

I must have came on the wrong day for the good people described in other reviews. This location has some of the rudest unprofessional staff and I have had better service at a used car dealer. I sent 3 different online request for a service appointment. No reply. Everytime you call it is the voicemail run around. No returned calls. I went back to the chassis manufacturer who referred me for the 3 recall and service campaigns and found out this is my only option without driving several hours. I went by the location today to pick up a filter kit and hopefully get the elusive appointment but they have 0 contact Covid protocols which they use to ensure they can ignore anyone but large corporate accounts. They ignored me at the door and then when I called the numbers which I had in my phone from previous calls, they sent to voicemail and 10mins before closing time the parts counter woman refused to serve .e since they were closed on already reduced Covid hours! I arrived 40mins before closing and had no less than 5 employees ignore me.I will launch a complaint to Cummins corporate and to the chassis manufacturer but my guess is nothing will be done.Makes me miss my caterpillar engine!

This place is could not make it any harder to purchase parts from. If you call youll end up getting a directory, once you select the option for parts, you get hung up on before it even rings. If you call and get an operator, they ask you for your name and call back number and no one ever calls you back. So basically it is impossible to reach any one over the phone to ensure they have a part in stock before you make a long drive to them.

We have been struggling with an intermittent issue with our generator for over a year. We had another shop look at it without success. We took it to Cummins Houston, they got our coach in right away. I left it with them with a list of a couple of other items I wanted them to look at. Our generator has never run better, they fixed the generator and the other items in very quickly except for a few days delay on some parts they had to search for. Throughout the process we were treated very well, and we had great, almost daily communication regarding the status of our coach. I felt informed and engaged throughout the process, Im very pleased with this shop and wouldnt hesitate to bring our rig there again.

I had a fuel injector replaced here. The reason why I’m giving a one star is that they didn’t catch the main problem, my camshaft was about ready to fail and cause major engine failure. The Cummins in Orlando had to replace the same fuel injector and was wondering why the mechanic didn’t catch the other problems that were occurring. I understand the mechanic was in a hurry to get things done because it was a Friday but I am lucky the guys in Orlando were able to fix the problem.

Very disrespectful staff from the front lobby employees Hernan and Jorge Garcia to Sheneen who is the assistant branch manager and Dean who is branch manager. Customer service is a big 1 out of 10. Besides not letting you in, they make you wait outside in the pouring rain. I politely asked if I could wait right at the entrance inside and they stated that they are not allowed to because of COVID-19 and asked for the manager and they stated they were busy with another customer when clearly nobody was allowed inside and there wasn’t a manager talking to a customer outside. I understand these COVID rules but who in the right mind keeps customers waiting out in the rain for parts and service. Then they want to turn around and call your employer to complain and LIE about the situation not knowing that my body camera was recording the whole incident. Thankfully the people at corporate were nice and they have requested me send them the video so they can base their actions off the video. Once again customer service sucks from Hernan and Jorge Garcia to Sheneen and Dean who are the branch manager and his assistant.

When our ‘check engine’ light came on in our Motorhome, we called 3 RV dealers to have them check it out...they either told us they couldn’t or that it would be a couple of weeks before they could get to us.When we called Cummins, they asked if we were Fulltimers and then told us they would take care of us.They diagnosed, ordered parts, and fixed the problem quickly and very professionally. They gave us a parking spot with 50 amp hookups first the two nights we had to spend there. We were very satisfied with the service and with the professional and accommodating treatment we received.

Today is monda and still no parts and as normal you cant get anyone on the phone!

We had our coach towed to Comings. We arrived on a Wednesday. They originally told us it would be the following week before they could got to us but they fit us in the next day. They allowed us to stay on their premises which saved us hotel costs. They provide electric which is a great plus. Pleasant people and respectful. My issue with Comings is the cost of the repair. It was the single biggest bill I’ve ever received to repair anything I’ve ever owned! Over $6300.00. It was an electrical problem.

Review №27

I will give this place 5 stars based solely on Justin McDonalds customer service and thoroughness in communications to my needs. However, my coolant issue may not be thoroughly remedied for whatever reason. Im still having issues that may not be anyones fault, but a need for more involved and extensive testing (on the technicians level) may have been needed, when I found the coolant level below the sight glass upon getting it back home. Thus causing further investigation and a smaller, possibly unnoticed leak. My concern, not blaming Cummins, but just an observation before getting another Low Coolant Alarm on my motor home. Justin, is a blessing to have as a consultant to call on, in a time of need. Excellent customer service. A marginal rating may be in the technical support area. Check for tools, rags left in the engine compartment.

We took our motorhome in for several issues we had and maintenance. Andrea welcomed us at the service desk and updated our work order that we had called in. She really knows her stuff! She quickly wrote up the work order in detail so that the mechanics new just what we wanted. Once our RV was in the shop we got a status update on what had been fixed and what we were waiting on. Ben worked very hard with our extended warranty company to get everything authorized and kept us updated on their progress. Everyone we spoke to, either on the phone or in person was professional, friendly, and cared about giving us great service. Cummins Southern Plains is our first choice for any service we need, we highly recommend them.

Called for days and said parts dept busy, transferred me to a parts place by Dallas and same go round, connected me to two managers and voice mail, corporate emailed them and nothing. The receptionist said i would have to drive an hour there to see if have part, get there wait an hour with two people servicing the counter while others stand around. Just need a part and they dont have any of them. I could order cheaper off line but need it now. Extremely poor business, i hope i never have to deal with them again . Cummins is a great product but this is making us consider dif generators in the Houston area.

A little background just to set the reference; my wife and I are RVing across the country from Orlando to San Francisco. We had problems diagnosed by Cummins South in Orlando and could not wait for the parts to arrive. So we departed ahead of the parts and planned a maintenance stop somewhere enroute after the parts caught up with us. I reached out to the Houston Center from Biloxi and left a message. I left a message at a number of different facilities along our route. The Houston Center returned my called and worked with me to schedule a stop working with me as we made our way to Houston being delayed by Barry. Our stop has turned into a 4 day stay while parts are ordered and delivered. It turned out that the Orlando Center had misdiagnosed our issues. I found everyone we came in contact with at the Houston Center from people cleaning the facility to those in charge. To be a group of the most professional customer focused groups I have ever had to deal with. Truly a Gold Standard Operation Kudos to Management and all the hands on people at the Center. Some of the best all around service I have ever had since beginning our Rving 5 years ago!

I have a Onan 4000 watt generator. I called setup an appointment I was told it the problem was not under warranty it would be a 500.00 dollar charge to check it out. I was kind of worried that I might get stuck with a large bill. I took it in and they started on it on time. After about an hour the service person informed me the unit dropped a valve and ruined the engine and it needed to be replaced under warranty. They had it repaired within 48 hours. I cant tell you how pleased I am with this company. I will recommend them to all of my friends. GREAT JOB guys.

The customer service reps at the parts desk are great at their job. Sometimes the wait is long but its for a good reason, sometimes they have to sreach part by part in a book to find you what you need. The reason for not giving 5 start is that every time I call them to see if my part has made it there or is finished in The r service department sometimes I will get the reseptions others it will go right to a automated service that takes you to a voice mail. When the reseptions does answer the phone and can get you transferred it will mainly goes to voice mail, when someone does answer the phone after being transferred you either get hung up on or transferred again to someones voice mail. The will call customer service imhas a bell to ring but the will ignore it most of the time and wait for a good 10 to 15 mins. When they do help they are all great.
