I rented a SUV from this location on Sep 3rd and I have nothing but great praise for the communication and the service I received from both gentlemen working at this location around 1pm. The car was detailed and cleaned and was more than I expected. They walked me through the features of the vehicle and answered any and all questions I had.The return was even easier. .....I greatly appreciate the service I received at this location.

Horrible customer service. The manager David also doesnt know how to deal with customers. Ive made a formal complaint and waiting to hear back from corporate. Rented a cargo van for a month. Every week when I tried to call to extend the rental, no one would answer the phones. It would be like pulling teeth trying to extend the rental. Then tried to extend it again yesterday, well they told me I could that I needed to bring the van back but I could rent it again after closing out. Makes no since. Now went to pick it up today and they dont have it because of an oil change that was needed. This location is horrible and hopefully Hertz brings in new management. Ill be contacting the BBB next today

ARE VACATION.WAS CANCEL. !!! Dont Ever rent from this place ! They will rip u off. We reservation on line a week in Advance & when we got there, everything was good to go. Until last minute they wanted a credit for our reservation. No where on site , does it mention u have to use a credit card! Oh then they wanted a extra 200. Deposit for the van rental! And van they tried to give is Was Dirty & Filthy! Less then a half tank of gas. Expired tags from Last Year ! And over 335,000 miles on it.And it just got drop off as we got there. Wouldnt clean it or fill it.. So ask for another van.. It was dirty & Filthy as well. No gas in it.. Wish I could give them NO STARS. ! TOTALLY RIP OFF. ALL THEIR PLACES ARE A RIP OFF. DONT TRUST THEM

This is actually two reviews:Hertz, 1 star.Staff at the Jones Road Hertz in Houston, 5 stars.Over two months ago, my wife & I reserved a minivan for a cross-country trip with four college & high-school aged girls--our daughters, and two of their closest friends. A thousand miles, five women, and their luggage...you do the math. A couple days before we were supposed to pick it up, Josh called to say they had a Nissan Pathfinder available, and asked if that would be okay. No, the Pathfinder is NOT a minivan. If youre wondering, the Pathfinder gets the same gas mileage as a minivan, but has LESS THAN HALF the cargo capacity behind the 3rd row as the lowest-capacity minivan. Also, the third row seats are pretty uncomfortable, unlike most minivans. My wife politely asked that they find us a minivan, or something larger than a Pathfinder.Josh stayed in regular contact on the minivan search, but despite his heroic efforts, Hertz did not honor our reservation. The day of our departure came, and my wife told me to be nice to Josh when I picked up the Pathfinder. Hes a perfectly friendly and engaging young man. I walked in literally biting my tongue to stay civil, but when I left twenty minutes later, had been won over. Josh was sincerely apologetic about not having found a minivan (or larger SUV), and as we checked out, without delaying the process at all, we had a real conversation about current events, children, etc (as I said...engaging).When we returned it this morning, he remembered us and wanted to know how the Pathfinder worked for us. I honestly told him it was terrible. With inadequate storage, I bought a cargo carrier to carry all the luggage that should have been in the back. The $120 Walmart cargo carrier came with flimsy plastic buckles--600 miles into the drive, the cheap buckle failed and the cargo carrier flew off the side, dangling by my redundant straps for a couple hundred yards as I stopped from highway speeds. Ruined cargo carrier, ruined suitcase, a few ruined clothes. The rest of the drive was rough, as we crammed the luggage in with the passengers. We ended up flying the girls home from our destination, to avoid a miserable drive back. Thanks, Hertz. I didnt share the whole story with Josh, but when I told him about the cargo carrier fiasco, he dropped his head into his hands, stricken. Unless hes just a good actor, he was actually disturbed at our misfortune.So, all in all:Josh, 5 stars.Hertz? Hmm...cargo carrier, suitcase, plane tickets...your inability to honor our reservation cost us close to $1500. You did give us a functioning vehicle with AC, a radio, and four wheels. Oh...and a slow leak in one of the tires, necessitating 5 stops over the last few days to air up the tire. For all that, 1 star. When we rent in the future, Hertz will be our last choice.

Josh was great! He answered and returned my calls when I was in a frantic trying to get a rental after being hit. He answered all of my questions and got me into a car quick. I would recommend this location to the next person!

Wow. NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could. Please do yourself a favor and dont ever rent from this location. Made a reservation 2 weeks ahead, spoke to them nearly everyday to confirm my vehicle, because I was traveling from very far away. They kept telling me yes we will have a vehicle for you, and on the last day before my travels(which I had already booked) I called 20 mins before the closed to confirm the night before, THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS A MISTAKE MADE BY THE COMPUTERS ON THE RATE I WAS QUOTED AND ALREADY HAD A RESERVATION CONFIRMATION THROUGH EMAIL FOR ON THE HERTZ WEBSITE, WHICH THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO CANCEL.... I ASKED WHEN THEY WERE PLANNING ON CALLING ME TO ADVICE OF SUCH A CHANGE? THEN THEY HAD THE NERVE AND ODACITY TO OFFER ME A LOWER CLASS VEHICLE FOR A MUCH HIGHER RATE (OVER $600 DIFFERENCE). I HAVE RENTED LITERALLY OVER 500 VEHICLES IN THE PAST 12 YEARS FOR BUSINESS AND PERSONAL USE, I HAVE TRULY NEVER ENCOURAGED SUCH A SITUATION WHICH MADE ME NEVERRRRRR WANT TO BOOK WITH HERTZ. NO WONDER I HAVENT USED THEM IN OVER 5 YEARS. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, READ PREVIOUS REVIEWS... THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS. THEY COULDNT HONOR THEIR RATE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A MISTAKE ON THEIR END, A PRICE WHICH WAS ALREADY HIGH FOR A VEHICLE I PLANNED ON KEEPING FOR A FEW MONTHS. I ended up going with Avis/Budget, as I have done so hundreds and hundreds of times with absolutely no issues 👌. Hertz phone corporate customer service reps are even worse dont bother. Agents at this location are very rude as well. -5/5. Avoid this location and dont have your plans changed on you last minute with no warning. What a joke of a company.

My father made a reservation a week ago and he received a call yesterday last minute saying they might not have the car. I called this morning and Jhon said well we have to see what we have in the lot. We might not have it. He hang up the phone. This place very rude they are very un professional.

The advertising never said there was a 500 dollar deposit for renting. They waste time by not telling you until the end. Had to find another company last minute. Its 250 dollars more than ANY OTHER COMPANY!

We wanted to switch our vehicle drop off location. Larry at this hertz location made doing so uncomplicated when other hertz locations let us down. Both employees we interacted with at the jersey city hertz were friendly and helpful. We are very grateful for their service!

After many less than acceptable experiences with rental places I’d have to say this was by far the most pleasant and easiest to deal with. Special thanks to Christopher for helping me with my many questions and walking me through ALL the add ons and giving me advice on what’s best for my pocket. I will be recommending this location and it’s wonderful employees.

This location provides no service which is worse than poor service. My insurance company made a reservation and I requested to be picked up. They never showed up. I called the location repeatedly until it closed and the call was rerouted to a central number. So far no call back from anyone. I complained to the insurance company. My insurer said my situation “is between me and Hertz.” Oh well. Future customers beware.

Got into a terrible hit and run and my insurance recommended hertz. Chose this location due to convenience. That being said, reasons for 5 stars:• Called them when they opened on a Monday (730a). They were able to call me an Uber and it arrived at 745a. Pretty much had my rental before 815. Fast service.• Worried that I would have to learn to drive a sedan as I’ve always driven an SUV and insurance would only pay a certain amount. However Hertz, specifically Jessica, was able to see my unfortunate situation and upgraded it to the same vehicle I had before at no extra charge.• Called the day after to make sure everything was smooth and if I needed further assistance.Will update after the return of the rental however if nothing has been changed, you can rest assured that Hertz has continued to uphold their phenomenal service!

Larry is rude and has absolutely no customer service skills. Actually hung up in my face as I was trying to figure out why the wrong name and body shop was listed on my reservation. Employees there have no idea what they are doing. Entered all the wrong info when I was checked in. Would advise not to use this location.
