We had busted pipes from the February freeze, a large amount of damage needed to be repaired/replaced. The entire team at Unique did a fantastic job with both bathrooms, master bedroom, custom closets and flooring. The crew also made sure we were happy with the work and went above and beyond. We are very happy with the finished project. I would recommend using Unique for any remodeling jobs.

Overall this was a good experience. We are happy with how the bathroom turned out. Ronen helped us select the design and coordinate the project. There were a few hiccups towards the end, but the project was completed to satisfaction.

We contracted Unique Builders to renovate our kitchen in July 2020. Ronen K was our project manager. The job required a complete rebuild of the kitchen, removing posts, walls and installing new posts and beam. Ronen spent a considerable amount of time working with my wife and I on the design of the kitchen, providing us various options to maximize the space, the kind of materials we could use and recommendations on the appliances. The project lasted about nine weeks which was attributable to us changing the scope of the work to include other areas of the house which Unique had no problem including into the project. They ensured every detail was covered. When an issue came up, Ronen was there to resolve it quickly. The result was a beautiful better functioning kitchen with an open concept. We would highly recommend Unique Builders and Ronen as your project manager.

I really wanted to use this company to do our remodel but after visiting my house the contractor, Matt, wouldnt reply to my wife. really frustrating because he did text back twice but took a week to reply and then said he sent a quote to my email (he didnt) and when I asked him to check the email address he again ghosted us.I would say he seemed knowledgeable and professional but im actually super upset with the lack of communication. If he didnt want to do our house thats okay we just wish we werent waiting on him considering wee are moving in a hotel right now waisting time.

UNPROFESSIONAL! Awful service! Their employee, Ronan, was crazy and tried to force us to sign a contract on their first visit and won’t leave respectfully! He us feel very uncomfortable. Since my mom was turning 76, I needed to make my mom’s bathroom (the master bathroom) handicap-friendly and wanted to update the design a bit at the same time. From the initial estimate and design with Jeremy to the final execution, they were absolutely professional and easy to work with. With Mom so ill, I needed this remodel to be as easy as possible.I’m so glad I chose them..the work they did was gorgeous, they handled the inevitable changes with grace, and the one little post-construction issue I found was resolved the same day. I recently hired Unique Builders to do a complete bathroom remodel.Strengths:- The crew they worked with were professional in comparison to other contractor companies I have worked with for other services.- They were able to do everything from design concept to execution. We needed that, and we appreciated the design and style advice. We also liked getting help with selecting the materials.- When needed, they would come out on weekends to address issues.- They do a thorough inspection of their work, and they make sure to address any issues that you raise.- They did a good job of trying to make sure the work area stayed as clean as could be expected, and they took care to try to protect our existing furniture.- Towards the end of the project, they used maids to help clean up all the dust, which was much appreciated.Things to work on- On a weekly basis, I wouldve liked to know what the work plan was and what was going to get done each day. I would get this information if I asked, but it would be great if that information would be provided without asking.Overall, I love the way my new bathroom looks, and I would use them again for future remodels!

I was referred to Unique from a friend. She had an extension done to her house to make her kitchen and living room bigger and completely up to date, and the work was flawless. I would very highly recommend Unique Builders and Development. I needed to replace two toilets in my townhouse. I called a plumber (I wont mention the name, but it was in the Village). They quoted me THREE times what Unique Builders quoted for me. They were completely trying to take advantage of me, perhaps because Im a single woman, living alone. Gerardo installed my toilets and he was incredibly professional and courteous, I felt very comfortable having him in my home. I couldnt have asked for better customer service. He was able to install my toilets very quickly and he even went out of his way to look at my water heater to give me his opinion about replacing it. He didnt try to sell me a new water heater (the plumber in the Village certainly did), and he told me that it should last at least another four years. Just getting a bid from this company was one of the worst experiences I have had. Scott asked the same question repeatedly and acted as if I couldnt make a decision on my own. When I tried to speed up the conversation he refused to continue the bid and left without a word. Highly unprofessional.

My wife and I hired Ronen and Unique Builders to remodel our downstairs office which included a build in library and turning a closet door into a pocket door for added space. Ronen came out to our house and was able to give us a quote on the spot. Working with Ronen felt the way businesses used to operate, with a handshake and your word. After signing a contract, the crew was on site and complete within 3 weeks (including ordering material). He was very patient with my wifes multiple changes and kept to his promise of not nickel and dimeing us. They finished earlier than expected, kept a clean work space, and stayed on budget while achieving better than expected quality. The crew showed up on time and coordinated with us effectively. We have a couple more projects coming up. We will certainly be calling Ronen in the near future.

We used this company to renovate our master bathroom. At the beginning of the process Ms. Kay did a really good job but at the end there was miscommunication about our frameless shower door. We were charged extra although we were under the impression that she worked that into what we paid. Also, they sub-contract and there was miscommunication about the tile and grout we bought. We also had problems getting a hold to Ms. Kay for like two weeks in between. It took me to say how unprofessional she was being, in order for her to finally respond to us. Anyhow, six months after the job was finally complete, the shower door started to turn colors. We paid for this extra sealant to be placed over the door at the bottom but obviously we were tricked. We didnt enjoy the experience with this company and they were very expensive.

Often, I had to run errands while they worked throughout the day and never worried about not being there. When work was complete he even dis extras and we were still charges quoted price. We had major renovations to our bathrooms (3). Unique was not the low bidder, but because they told us they used a negative pressure system during the demolition and construction to minimize dust and dirt, we went with them. The system was essentially non-effective. Construction dust was everywhere and the carpet was only partially covered. Our master bedroom was covered in layers of construction dust. They did clean the carpet after major work, but I am afraid most of the dust remains buried in the carpet. (After the carpet was cleaned, the glass installers ground the glass in the bedroom, no protection to bedding or carpet).Quality: Uniques quality program seemed to be if you will accept it, its good enough.They replaced the shower glass three times. Poor measurements, misalignment, wrong seals, etc. Unique pressured us to accept the work after each problem. Eventually it was acceptable - not excellent.The tile work was poor. Grout was never properly sealed and remains so. They have refused to do it properly. I will have to hire some competent tile man to do it.The vanities are particularly poor. Doors and drawers were adjusted several times, still not right. (They said its the best they can do, if we wanted a good fit, we should have bought custom vanities). They broke an expensive light fixture during installation. They replaced it after WE pointed it out. Most of the mistakes we pointed out were corrected, but their attitude seemed to be thats the way its supposed to be.Schedule: They never gave us an overall schedule estimate. It took five months.Many times, they didnt show up when scheduled. Many times, they came when not expected. Most of the time, we had to call to find out what was planned that day.When the job was nearing completion, Unique used my credit card to charge the final payment without my knowledge or agreement. When I objected, they promised to issue a credit immediately. Delay after delay and they NEVER issued the credit.This is only a partial list of the quality difficulties. There are many more.On the positive side, MOST of the poor quality was eventually addressed. We did end up with very nice bathrooms. The management was easy to work with (except quality problems). The subs were courteous and helpful; some lacked competence.The question is - would I recommend them? Only if you hire an independent construction inspector.Charles S.

Dont trust these people they are Rip-offs

At the beginning we were told they would cover all cabinets with plastic, and then put up plastic on the openings to other rooms. For the demolition they did put up the plastic and it helped. But the plastic came down after 2 days and they did not cover anything after that. Many hours were spent cleaning.Quality* The new island panels are shrinking or shifting and leaving gaps of un-stained wood where the panels meet the raised sections.o They have been out twice in the last 6 weeks to re-stain these gaps.o My wife and I originally considered re-doing all cabinets and I cant imagine how we would feel if we had.* Backsplash had many issues that needed to be re-done; not the same depth, medallions not at the same height, tile stops 1 before the top of electrical outlet.* To cut a hole inside the new island they used a reciprocating saw which just tore up the interior.o Their comment ... no one will see it* A wine fridge was going into the end of the new island. There was a lot of sawdust and wood parts on the floor and they said No one will see it.* Downdraft installation: The cooktop has a downdraft blower that was pointed to blow out the back for the normal install along an exterior wall. Ours is in the island which should blow down. The day of the install I decided to read the installation instructions because bending duct work will reduce the flow and of course there are instructions on what to do for downdraft. So I left the installation instructions out and wanted to see how Unique would handle this. As I expected they dropped in the cooktop without rotating the blower. I then stopped them and showed them the instructions.o What if I hadnt shown them that? The downdraft would work but not nearly as efficient as it should. How often does this happen and no one catches it?SafetyThe island cooktop was changing from electric to gas. The plumbers helper was the only person to come out to install the cooktop and hookup the gas. When we got gas turned on you could really smell it. The burners worked but even after turning off the cooktop for a while you still smell gas so there is clearly a leak somewhere.The project manager said the main plumber would be out in a couple days to find/fix the leak. Well the plumbers helper came back and he does the soap test and says no leak then just leaves. Later that night the smell is very bad again and we havent used the cooktop at all so we turn the gas back off. The project manager says the main plumber will be out in a couple days, but the plumber helper shows up again (déjà vu). Same thing, dont smell much gas and his soap test doesnt find anything, he says no leak and leaves. The project manager was here later that day and we did not smell gas while he was here. Again that night we smell gas again so I shut it off.I decided Unique Builders wasnt going to bring the right people to find this leak so I call a plumbing company and in 15 minutes had found the leak. They fix it and charged me a few hundred dollars. Im annoyed at spending the money but happy that we can use our cooktop without gas leaks.I then e-mailed the project manager saying a plumber was just here and fixed the leak. The project manager asks me to scan/send him the invoice so that Unique could make it right. As of now they haventGood things:* The project manager was good to work with and directed us to a place where we could get a really good deal on the appliance package.* The project manager came by one evening to locate the gas shut-off valve for the island. He spent a couple hours there one evening and located the valve behind a cabinet. (It would have been better if this was handled while the backsplash and countertops were off instead of once everything was done. I mentioned not seeing a shutoff valve for the island).* Granite fabricator did really good work. The seams match really well.
