Very cool place. Cheap entrance fee. I was here for training but considering bringing my kid out just to let him look at the vehicles. It is what you would expect from a junk yard...old, wrecked cars that have been picked apart...but cool anyway. Was thinking that it would be cool to come with a group and do a scavenger hunt or contest to see who could find the coolest item.

LKQ is buying out all of the family owned junkyards and raising prices to create a monopoly!! Smart move on their end...They claim their high price is a result of the warranty that comes with every purchase...what if i dont want a warranty?! I never buy warranties because i dont believe in them.

Decent salvage yard. They have a big selection, a state-of-the-art inventory system, and everyone working there was really nice and helpful. I even saw a couple employees helping direct customers while in the yard.I took away one star for two reasons. One, the parking lot needs some attention. People coming there for parts dont need to add flat tire to the list of things wrong with their vehicle. The second reason has to do to the systematic destruction of back seats of the make/model I was looking at. Almost all of them had the middle of the rear seats cut out. The irony is that itd take less effort to take off the four nuts holding the seat down, then flip the seat up, than it would to physically cut them open. Since I cant say for sure it wasnt tweakers looking for hidden microphones and not LKQ yard techs, I didnt take away a second star.

They now have their inventory online, at drastically increased prices. If you are looking for in demand parts that are worth shipping, give it up. They have already picked those off and added to their online inventory. If you need a transmission, engine, or rear end or body parts its still worthwhile. A lot of their prices for smaller parts are comparable to prices online or higher for new parts... Ive been coming here for 20 years, used to be a big fan. Now its a roll of the dice if you are getting a good deal or not, or if they havent already taken it off themselves.. I call that shady but thats just my opinion.

$60 for a control arm thats $35 brand new. Wanted to charge me separately for the ball-joint thats part of the control arm.Defeats the point of self-service salvage yards. Too much in environmental fee, entry fee, core charge and taxes. A $30 part ends up being 50 at check out.Do your self a favor and buy new parts.

What a scam! I called received a quote online to buy my car. the quote was decent so I contacted them to schedule a pick up time. I was never told the amount could be lower after visual Inspection, that a tow fee was added/subtracted or I had the option of bringing the car to the yard for a higher yield. The car starts and runs. Tow truck driver inspected, called the yard and decreased offer by $125.00, the bulk of which was for steel wheels. they claimed the rims were steel, not aluminum when in fact theyre the rims put on by the factory. another $25. was deducted for a light cover on the rear and tiny dent.An hour after the tow truck left, I was contacted by Nadia in the call center to notify me the quote was written out of the Hiram Clark location when it shouldve been written for the wallisville yard which is closer. She said the pick up would need to be tomorrow. I kinda blew up on her. I told her the car was already picked up and they reduced it by $125. Mostly due to steel wheels. She told me not all locations deduct for this. She was very patient listening to me rant and I told her it was not her I was upset with. I honestly believe offer was reduced to pay for tow when I couldve and wouldve driven the car to them to maximize my cash. LKQ needs to be resolved with additional pay to me or action for deceptive trade practices will be considered. Sure wish Id read reviews prior to doing business with them.

So I get that this place is a dump yard for cars, but it is disgusting when you can smell feces/fecal matter while in search of a part.Instead of people using the port o potties, they just take a dump there among the cars. The other complaint is the entrance fee, if they dont have the part, you dont get a refund on the entrance fee. Only when pressed, did they offer me a voucher to go to one of the other locations. No refund of your cash and no part to boot. I called and asked before going to make sure the part was there that I was in search of. They told me they had the part that I was looking for. They didnt.Do a little research and order the part online. You can get a nice, clean product and most likely at a better price. The cars are not in good shape especially, if in search of interior parts. Theyre dirty and gross.Customer service was mediocre at best. This place is gross.Yuk!

Absolute rip-off. Called to find a part and was told that you have to pay a $30 entry fee and then pick your own part after driving up there and they still cannot guarantee the part will be there. After paying the entry fee and the cost of the part, it would be cheaper to order the part brand new from the dealership.

The Wallisville Rd LKQ is my preferred pick your part location. In my experience, the staff at this location are more attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful than those of other LKQ centers Ive visited thus far; not to mention that the Wallisville location had greater inventory of the late model vehicles that I was searching for (definitely a huge plus!). Additionally, the lanes between vehicles seemed at least slightly less cluttered and better kept than those of other locations; has been my experience thus far, at least. When I need parts, the Wallisville location is my go-to.

Review №79

You have to pay to get it, regardless of whether you walk away with what you needed or not. If your car is 2005 or newer you pay a total of $5 to get into the prime section. Be ready for that. You can check what cars they have in stock from their website or they can tell you when you arrive, up to you. I was lucky and found exactly what I needed. Its a junkyard, you might have to lay on the ground to get to what you need so wear clothes you dont care about and bring a mat or something to lay on because theres broken glass everywhere and goggles so rust and other things dont fall in your eyes. I recommend that you bring a good set of tools with all of the sizes youll need so you dont have to make a return trip. Be sure that you bring water or Gatorade because youll need it or wish you had something to drink, a Camelbak would be great if you have it.

Review №85

Well this was my first time here and it was great. The entrance price is good 5 dollars and you can go in the primo section and the regular side. Am a veteran and they give 15% discount on your total purchase witch was good. But after all is a junk yard so finding parts is a hit or miss they do have a big selection on vehicles so your most likely will find what your looking for cheap.

An
Review №86

It is a big facility. The entrance fee is $3 but if you want parts from cars after 2005, expect to pay an additional $2 to enter the prime section. The car parts are first come first serve. I didnt find the part I wanted the first time I visited unfortunately. Some people can be selfish, taking their wanted parts off and damaged other parts along the way. They dont always leave things behind in decent condition for the next picker.Bring your own tools and be mindful about where you park as some people can be selfish by parking their vehicles behind you so you are blocked in.You can use their web site to check their vehicle inventory. Some cars will show the dates when they were made available. If it is already a week or two passed, chances are the parts you want are already taken. Better luck next time.

Fairly organized for a pull-your own part salvage yard. The inventory is listed on the website and vehicle location is specified by section and row. However the organization ends here.... Because the rows of cars or trucks are not market by the letters that are supposed to identify each row. Hence I had walk down each row until I found the car I was looking for. The management could fix this problem easily....

Nice yard well laid out free use of wheeled engine hoists and cart. The absolute dirtiest Port-O-Pot i ever opened the door on in my life. When do you guys get service once a month? Do what you got to do at the Exxon on the corner before you get there. Also dont park by the metal fence unless you want a starter in your windshield, lots of dead beats throwing parts over the fence for free pick up on the way out, saw this happen three times in ten minutes on a phone call in my truck. Wasnt for the Port-O-Pots I would have given 5 star.

I was very disappointed with a visit to the Houston Wallisville Rd. LKQ location this past weekend. They seem to ignore their online price list and charge whatever they want. Prior to heading to LKQ I had checked their online parts price list to find out how much I would be charged for a roof...the price was $53.25 + $12.00 core (dont ask me why they have a core charge on a roof to begin with). I found a roof that would work, but when I brought it up to the cashier, they charged me double ($106.50 + $12.00 + $7.69 environmental fee) stating that their online price was just for car roofs and that the SUV roof that i got (which was actually from a small SUV and not much larger than a car roof) was double. Their online price only lists one price for a roof and not multiple prices based on the type of vehicle it came off of. And, it seems their system doesnt recognize a different price for roofs depending on vehicle type, because my receipt lists the part as a roof with sunroof to justify the extra cost even though the roof i got doesnt have a sunroof. I questioned the price multiple times, but all they would say is that i should have checked with them on the price before pulling the part. Why have an online price list if youre not going to follow it? Very disappointing and frustrating! I dont know if the price switch is an LKQ thing as a whole or if its just the office employees at this particular location.

Check your reciept, shady bussiness trying to secretly charge more. Bought some steel wheels and tried to charge me for Aluminum after i told them they were steel. Another time after i checked out they tried to put a charge on my reciept for thier premium lot which i was not in and clearly didnt check off. Then when confroted they tried to play the stupid card and act like it was a mishap and said they wernt sure how that charge got on there. Most LkQ are good salvage yards, but this one is not at all. Buy carefully

I kid you not when I tell you the entire lot smells like a sewer. I like salvage yards. I go often since Im rebuilding a late model vehicle. This place can be skipped. I gave it two stars because the man taking the money at the entrance was helpful. However what should have been $20 worth of bits and pieces was quoted $50+. I told the cashier Hell No - tell me what each piece cost. She started with the (2) tiny window supports for $20. I are not even $20 brand new. Guess I was getting the white boy pricing!
