We have lived here since October and it has been great so far. The ladies in the office are awesome and helps you out any way they can. My kids love the playground and most people around here are super nice. So far only problems I have seen is parking is horrible and people need to slow down while leaving the gate. Everyone that works here are nice too. Seriously dont plan on moving anytime soon.

I have to say this is the very first community I have been to where I couldn’t in my right mind get upset with them. There was a slight misunderstanding on the move in date but when the error was noted, they immediately tried to fix it. Their efforts in trying to help me meant the WORLD to me. I felt like when I explained my urgency in needing to move they genuinely empathized and sprung into action. I had a second community I was going to go with but their understanding of my issues won me over. Amazing staff by far and beautiful community.

Too out dated the inside of the apartments, I expected something more updated and more chic for the 1500.00 dollar price thats being paid for a three bedroom apartment.... not cool!! I found out its 1500.00 monthly still too much for apartments that looks like they were built in the 1980.

Been living here for two years so here are some pros/cons.PROS:- Near I-10 & 610 (easy access)- Located near a Park- Water bill not too high (under $50)- Single bedroom isnt too small & under $800- Security after hours- Fast payable rent available online- Quiet- Did not go under water during Harvey (Cars)- Somewhat decent exercise room- clean poolCONS:- Parking is horrible (not enough spaces)- Electric went out (hottest day of the year BTW for 3 days)- Water occasionally goes out (on the worst days, Friday/Saturday or Sunday)- Roaches (Theyre everywhere but never have I had to fight off so many since Ive lived there)- People dont pick up after their animals (At one point, someone was even throwing cat litter at the corner of our complex)- Washer/dryer started off like at 1.35 now up to 1.60 (less than two years)Overall Id rate this place as average. Weve had issues w/the AC leaking and being moldy, water leaking into the living room and front of our apartment and above our shower but all that stuff Ive dealt w/before at other places; Cant really escape from that sort of thing. The only thing that really bothered me was the roach infestation, not sure how or where they were coming from but we just accepted the fact that we have to wash everything every time we use it. Im thinking theyd have to just bomb the place after we leave because theyve sprayed and until recently, theyve somewhat diminished. Also, seeing how much water that came in from the hurricane, I would think it would have to deal w/the outside of our room not being patched up correctly. Another thing would be the parking; we are given tags when we first move in yet there are still a lot of cars w/o tags and hogging the parking lot. If you have visitors, theyre SUPPOSED to park in front of the office w/a visitor tag but havent seen that before. Chances are if you come after 10PM (any day) you might have to park outside the gate, near the park.

Great location and Staff is wonderful. Units are nice I have a 3 bedroom Apt. like the size pretty spacious. My only concern is not enough security my vehicle was broken into on Sunday December 20 someone tried to steal vehicle also another tenant mentioned to me his vehicles were broken into as well a few months ago, both of us park on the same side

Great location (close to 1-10 Walmart and marq-e), very quiet apartments, security walks through at night. Maintenance are always cleaning all around the complex every morning. For the size of the apt complex the front office and maintenance do an awesome job with every question I have or issue. Keep up the great work !

I think the best thing this apartment complex has going for it is its location. It actually has an awesome location. The apartment complex is older, it is a little run down, but it has everything you would want. If they would spruce up the place a bit, and do some basic maintenance it has the potential to be very nice.

Its good for the price, and I have not had any major issues. My only real complaint is the noise level; be very wary of any location within 100 feet of one of the pools. They start to fill up around noon and often stay active until nearly midnight. I cant complain about the pools being in use during the day, but I wish they would do something about the noise level past 10 pm. Also they occasionally are in use by loudly cursing young adults, which is unfortunate as most of the units around the pools are in use by families.

Of course at first everything was all fine and dandy, but over time you notice certain things. For example...The water is orange when it comes out of my faucet in the shower. Its disgusting and unsanitary. I left them a message about this rusty water problem (what Im assuming is turning the water orange) and it was just overlooked or ignored. There are weird centipede looking bugs that I find curled up and dead all over the apartment. Same goes for what everyone calls Rollie Pollies. Ive seen spiders, but havent had a problem with roaches thank GOD...I would just feel ten times more disgusting. Yesterday (6/12/13) I walked into my apartment and looked around to see if I could find the problem for these creepy crawlies and I found a TICK by my window seal. I called the office maybe 2-3 weeks ago TOPS to let them know about the weird bugs. When I came home the next day I found a letter stating that they sprayed for roaches, which isnt the problem I told them I was having. I THINK the problem may be that the windows dont seal off. Ive stuffed paper towels in the crack, but that is obviously not the problem.PARKING IS STUPID AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH OF IT!! I feel like Im on a curfew because if I dont get there in time Im pretty screwed on getting a spot remotely close to my apartment. If and when you get a decent spot and you have to leave for any reason, that spot is guaranteed to be gone. (at night)I love the ladies in the office especially Lori, but the overall experience with where I dwell is just horrible.

Ive had so many problems.-My apartment flooded twice. The first happened after the Maintenance man named Jose improperly connected my washer. Water flood the bathrooms the dining room and both bedrooms the first day. All our boxes were soaked.-The Second Flood happened when the same thing happened upstairs a few months later. This time our wall were soaked with water from the ceiling down.-After at least 4 times visiting the office for repair work on the AC they finally came to see why nothing was working an there was a huge ball of ice surrounding outflow vent. When it melted we flooded again. The A/C froze over because the unit wouldnt respond to the command to shut-off and continued operating for a month in December. The bill was more than doubled and the office fought with us claiming they werent responsible and they fixed a problem every time. Yet Jose would simply turn it on and wave his hand over the vent and leave.-In just the year Ive been here there were two Utility Disasters that I know of. One week the electricity went out for the entire weekend until Sunday in SUMMER in about 75% of the complex. All our food was ruined and they gave no compensation. Next the water was disable without telling anyone coming home to no functioning toliets or running water. This complex looks good when you drive but drive to the back and its a different story. They spent a ton of money upgrading the interiors but the painting was sloppy. The wood work in the closets looks like a child with a nailgun preformed it all. They promised a lot in the Office and Grace always says they are Better than across the Street but its not that much better. This complex is 40 years old and they spent nothing on fixing the electrical polls or the pipes. My Complaints-When it rains certain areas lack proper drainage. You get water in your apartment or right at the door.-Car parking is RIGHT NEXT TO THE BEDROOMS in nearly all apartments so slamming doors and loud drunk people are normal. Watch out if some one has a motorcycle-The kids actively dig up and destroy stone walk ways.-The kids run around knocking doors and then run away-The dog owners are HORRIBLE. Pet waste is everywhere especially from big dogs.-The staff is NICE but unhelpful and incompetent. We were lied to frequently about getting the apartment checked for molded for our protection. I have mold stains in the bath room where water came from the second story. The infamous Jose came in and sprayed it with Kilz Primer and left. He didnt cut into the wall to see if there was mold behind the walls no matter how many times the office girls said he would.-The water bills are ridiculously HIGH. $50-60 dollars because the place is so old they dont have water meters for each unit. The Water Bill is split up among the entire community and their has been a continuous leak for the past year (or so they say) that were all paying through the nose for.-Parking is terrible. You will have to park on the street outside of the complex. Dont count on the covered parking. They dont regulate it and have no idea how many spots are actually free. Late one night I counted 80 spots at 3am but theyll tell you none are available. The Good.- Electricity bill is good because the apartments are usually in shade.-Very close to the Movie Theater and the freeway.-Very safe. Security patrols several of the complexes. No break-ins or car theft.-The people are nice, mostly Spanish speakersThis place has Long Long way to go

Awesome place to live, very quiet, working class environment plus management/leasing agents are great. maintenance work is on point, most of them stay on property, theres an overnight armed guard on duty that is very mobile, friendly & helpful. I stayed here for 2years now, 3 different apartments and had no major issues what so ever. I never experienced a roach problem (like 1 or 2 every few months), i killed 2small baby spiders thru out my experience and yes once in a while your shower faucet will initially have a light brown color but dissipates after a few seconds. Overall 5 all day son (Dayum Drops food critic voice lol)

Are you really asking me to reach you? Seriously? Again?!I sent you several emails regarding the problem of the noise in my apartment, caused my the ACs that are on the roof: Im still waiting for your reply to my last complaint about it. I honestly gave up on that, so Im still living with the costant noise in my ears and I still need to sleep with earplugs....Every month I have to send you a request for the AC in my apartment because it takes hours to decrease the internal tempature of 2 or 3 degrees... I gave up even on that...My car has been towed once because the free parking spots were all taken and you didnt provide to me the tag for a reserved parking. And, just to remind you, the covered parking very closed to my car collapsed few months ago: fortunately my car was not involved. Please do not forget the several times that I told you, at the beginning of my lease, that someone was using my trash box without my approval and please do not forget the several times that I complained about the fact that my thash sometimes was not picked up, even if I always paid the charges in time. I still have this problem, but I gave up: Im too tired...Ive never seen the hallway clean and with no odors in more than 12 months. Please do not try to forget when I told you that a stranger knocked at my door during the night... TWICE! Your reply has been: call the police next time.Plus, Im still not understanding why my water bill is increased of almost $40: I live alone and I didnt change my routine... So how is it possible that for one month I paid $25 and for the next one $60... And the curious thing is that during that time (December 2016) I was on vacation...I dont want to talk about the laundry rooms because its too much: I asked you when was the last time that someone checked them and you told me that you didnt remember...If you need any other explaination regarding my feedback on Castlewood apartments, Im here for you.

I truly love this place! Might be moving out soon and i am sad to go because i have never met more honest and friendly staff! Everything i ask to get fixed gets fixed right away! No matter the time. Their maintenance guys are very respectful, nice and honest. Their pool is always open and clean. I see them clean it every morning! Their gym is pretty awesome too. Its just sad to see some people dont take care of their equipment properly. Their laundry rooms are ok too. A bit older but work great. Everyone here is nice and friendly! A lot of people have pets but always on leashes and always pick up after them. They have a reading room for kids as well. Very family friendly community. Every incident that happens they let everyone know and make sure we feel safe! And no, no one paid me to write this. I have a tendency to leave reviews where ever i live so everyone is aware of the way the place is. For example Hammerly oaks, never live there worst experience of my life! I love this place a bit pricy but well worth it! Thank you castlewood for my 3 wonderful years here!
