Pet was safe and sound and they follow all their policies. However, I was outside waiting a solid 45 minutes before even being able to check in. The protocol on their door says1.Check in before waiting in line by pressing the intercom button.2.State name and phone # to be called by when they are ready.3.They will call you at that phone # when you are up. They did not do that Im assuming bc they were so busy and short staffed.

Two thumbs up! We were escorted to the facility by our stewardess which was not far at all. When we got there the whole process to have our 4 cats released took about 20/30 minutes. As long as you follow ALL instructions you will be fine. They did have airport carts parked outside if you needed it because the way back to the airport was a long way. I believe they should have some sort of transportation IF heading back to the airport. Luckily we had family pick us all up and drop us off for our next flight. I was nervous from reading many bad reviews but our experience was pleasant. Just make sure you follow ALL instructions and I believe you will be fine.

What an amazing crew! They were super helpful and made everything easy! Moving my dog from the mainland was alot but by the time she got here it was easy. They called me when I was able to pick Checkers (my dog) up and had everything ready when I got there. Even when they brought Checkers out she was happy and didnt seem stressed at all. Big thank you to everyone!

The process was ok. The hike from debarking the plane to the station was really too far with carry-on luggage and then back to baggage area. I had blisters on my feet. They need to provide some form of transportation for seniors. It was worth it to have my dog released.

If you do not everything completely in order, these are the most disdainful, soulless drones working a machine not an animal holding facility. They will not help you, they will talk down to you and they will show zero compassion. If you do have your paperwork in order and the airlines, the shipper, the handlers, the customs agents, the janitors, the ice cream man, Bob Ross, whoever voiced the 3rd dwarf in Snow white, and a 112 year old tortoise all did exactly what was needed and it satisfies what the office requires, you should be okay. Otherwise this is literally hell on earth.

As with any quarantine location you can expect to spend many hours here or if youre lucky get in pretty quick. Be prepared to wait outside and listen for your name to be called. Make sure you have all your paperwork as that makes the process a million times easier. No you are not allowed to take the animal out of the crate until you are off of airport property.

As long as you have all of your documents for your beloved pet squared away before you go to pick them up you should have no issues here. The only downside to this place is that it is kind of a pain to find. Parking is on the curb outside the entrance. It looks like you should not park there, but the staff allows it. Once you pass Terminal 1 on the ground level at the Airport, just take a Right to where it says Ewa Service road and follow it until you come across the Blue sign that Says Airport Animal Quarantine Facility. The staff here is extremely helpful and friendly to all pets.

I was so scared of this place from all of the horrible reviews that I read. I was shocked at how easy the process was to get my dog. They called my name after only a 5 min wait. I just had to show my id and sign a release form and that was it. (I mailed all the required documents beforehand so they just needed to review the new health certificate) They have you stand outside to wait until your animal is ready. Another 5 min and my Charlotte was at the door ready to go!!

The ladies here were super helpful and friendly. I got them all of my documents ahead of time. When I landed, I went to pick up my rental and came by the office to get my pups. They called my name the moment I got there and had all my documents up and ready to be signed. Took me about 5 mins to get all the documents signed and scanned. They went to the back and grabbed my pups and I was out of there. Very quick. Very efficient and friendly. Just send all your documents ahead of time and call them if you have any questions or concerns about your fur babies. They were super helpful and made the moving process a little less stressful. Thanks Ladies!

We had zero issues when our dog flew from JFK to HNL unaccompanied. If you do your part and follow everything the Hawaii paperwork tells you to do to the letter (read every line!), then you will have no issues, too. I called the Animal Quarantine many, many times to clarify things from the paperwork. Make sure to ask lots of questions, and ask them if theres anything you may have overlooked. They didnt give me any grief and I was well prepared the day of my dogs flight.Picking up our pup from the airport quarantine was a cinch and the folks working there were very pleasant. Thank you!!

These employees have the worst customer services not only towards people but to the animals! The wording on paperwork is not clear. Send your paper work in time. It says 10 days before departure. However they count 10 days after they receive it. They will yell at you to pay more because you sent out on time but did not receive it in time. - again the wording on their paperwork is not clear. There isn’t much you could do if you did everything correct on your end. These people will not only roll their eyes at you, give you attitude, yell at you, shove your paperwork in your face, deny everything you prepared in time, they do not care if pets are in the hallway crying for owner, while owner is out front ringing the doorbell. These people obviously do not get treated and/or do not get paid well and it shows. When they brought my dog out, they brought him out in pet bag that was full of urine! My dog is well trained and is old enough to not urinate in his bag. This showed me that he either got hurt or very scared, or even both! When I opened his bag he ran out so quick with his tail tucked so for under, it scared me. When we came home I noticed a big bruise in his ear and bleeding in the other. The man that was waiting for his dog - the dog that was crying and shaking and the employees did nothing, he wished us well and wished he had never put his dog through hell. I have to say I wish the same for my dog. These people are cruel!

This place is ridiculously difficult to find. Google isnt the helpful either. This place is part of the airport and connected to it but you dont access it by going in throw the main entrance. Its entrance is off an access road, that you would need to know where the turn is before you really got to the airport. Because there are literally no signs indicating the pet quarantine area is down the road or any signs whatsoever indicating the airport has an animal quarantine area. Before I get their I emailed animal quarantine and they said there are normally only have one or two parking spaces available and most people park in the airport garage. So I parked in the garage and walked over to the airport terminal where I had to ask 3 different employees for directions. Then when I finally got to the road I was worried I wasnt supposed to be going down the road because there werent any signs and then there wasnt any sidewalk for a good portion of the walk. Then when I had got my 🐈 I had to carry her carrier down this road with no sidewalk. When I got back to the main airport area someone helped me out with by handing me a luggage cart. I could not imagine doing this with a large 🐕 and picking them up with only one person or more than one animal. The people who work there were nice and it all went very quick and smoothly like less than 20 minutes. Make sure to have all the paperwork you need and worked out before hand. My cat didnt seem too upset by her experience taking a flight/trip that pretty much took 24 hours so it definitely seems like everyone is definitely trying to make the animals feel as comfortable as possible. But OMG airport please put up some signs or if they do exist that just means you need better ones.

Everyone I talked to here was fantastic. Because of airline rules and regulations, bringing an animal to Hawaii is the most stressful thing I have ever done. The quarantine station in Honolulu and the airport holding facility was the best part. They made sure my dogs were taken care of and kept me informed of what to do when dates changed because of the airlines.

This was kind of hard to find at first, but it was only because I went through departures instead of arrivals (since that’s where Google maps directed me) - so save yourself time and go through arrivals, and stay as far to the right as possible. Once you pass terminal 1 - you will see the Ewa Service Rd/Animal Quarantine sign so take a right when you see the sign. From there, drive straight on through until you see the quarantine place on your left. There are only 3 spaces for cars to park right in front of the building - so I suggest getting there about 30 mins after your pet is scheduled to arrive, so you won’t be waiting long. Due to COVID - you can’t wait inside the building for your pet, instead they will call your name over the door speaker box (which is small and not very loud so you have to be close by to hear your name). After they call you in, assuming you submitted your paperwork ahead of time (10+ days before arrival) then you can take your pets home that same day. The staff made the process quick & painless, just had to sign a piece of paper & that was it.

Go to the website and follow the directions and you will get your pets out the same day. Getting dogs to Hawaii from stateside just got allot easier (Aug 31 2018). You will need - 2x rabies vacinations, favn report with microchip number, working microchip in pet, health certificate proving animals have been treated for flea and ticks and okay to fly, dog/cat import forms. On the spot check-in fee 244$. Mailed in info ahead of arrival? - 185$ fee. Dont sweat it outside those key items. They want you to go home with your pet.

I wish I could give less than 1 star, first they tried to say we didnt have all our paperwork and charge us $50, and when we proved to them we had everything they acted annoyed.. and with my second dog i had to pick up the next day because she was on a separate flight so she was there over night and they NEVER feed her! And when I asked them about it they said they did they just taped it back to the top but there was the same amount of food in the bag there was when we filled it and it wasnt that much cause we only put enough for 1 day so they did not feed my dog all day or all night, I dont even think they let them out to go to the bathroom.
