Had a Howard Miller Grandfather clock purchased by my parents in 1981. It hadnt been serviced since 1991 and hadnt run since the late 1990s. Andrews clock repair assisted with preparing it to be moved to my home and removed the working parts of the clock for repair. It has since been installed in its new location and is working great. It is so awesome to hear the chimes again and the tick-tock after all these years. Thank you for a great service you provide to this area. This is an outstanding business. Russell and his daughter Caitlyn have brought multiple clocks of mine back to life again. Many of these clocks were over 100 years old. Both of these remarkable individuals have years of experience and I feel very good leaving family heirlooms in their hands. In one instance with a 1920s Elgin pocket watch that belonged to my great grandfather, Russell had to get parts from 3 other Elgin pocket watches to bring it back to life. When I got it back and it worked like a Swiss watch, I felt it was the best money I ever spent in my life. Each time I look at my pocket watch , I remember the great work Russell did. I have recommended Andrews clocks and watches to many of my friends and everyone has been so pleased with his work. I have several more clocks and watches to repair and will bring them to Andrews clocks and watches for proper repair and rejuvenation. I just discovered this place and what a delightful discovery it was. I just needed to have the battery replaced in my old everyday watch. I had no hope that the metal strap could be repaired, as the local jeweler had told me that would be impossible. The watch could still be worn, but I knew it was a matter of time before it fell apart completely. The owner seemed to take this as an interesting challenge and set to work rifling through his repair supplies trying to find a piece that would fit. He eventually modified a little metal post to replace the piece that had broken. I was absolutely delighted, as the watch has sentimental value and I wear it all the time. The most astounding thing was that I was not charged for this repair, just for the battery replacement, which was very reasonable. I am tired of being overcharged for a watch battery, as I was at the last place I went to. There were many beautiful clocks in the store- they seem to do a steady business in the repair of these. I have two wonderful old clocks and this is where I will bring them should they ever need repair. And, of course , whenever I need a watch battery changed I know where to go.

I had inherited a grandfather clock from my parents and called to have the clock repaired. We had a nice phone conversation and scheduled an appointment for a Thursday afternoon at 4:30 for Russell to come to my house. At 4:15 I get a phone call asking me if we can reschedule for the following Thursday, also at 4:30. He never showed and never called. I called him Monday and left a voicemail- no return call. I called the following Tuesday, spoke with someone who told me that he ran out for 5 mins - she took my contact info and once again, no call back. I finally got him on the phone and scheduled an appointment for today (a Saturday) and once again, no show and no call.I think I provided too many chances. There are others that do this work. I would never allow or trust someone to handle a valuable family heirloom if they can’t even handle to show up for an appointment.

For years, my mother (who is now 100 years old) has wished that her grandfather clock would work. The clock is not the most expensive clock, but it is still something that she always enjoyed. I decided to do some research and found Andrews Clock and Watches through a Google search. I was delighted to hear that Russ would come to the house and take a look. Within a few days after his initial visit, Russ returned to the house and replaced the necessary parts. The service was professional and the responsiveness was amazing. We had a wonderful experience at Andrews Clocks! My husband and I brought in a clock that is very special to my father in law. Russell immediately recognized the value of the clock and the sentimental value to the family. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He took the time to explain the repair process to us and even offered to deliver it to Dad! The clock was repaired beautifully, and as promised delivered in about 2 weeks! After buying an expensive antique clock on line (buyer beware) it never kept time and the dealer would not help me. It had been represented as perfect and I was irked every day by my own foolishness.Then I thought of Mr. Andrews. He had serviced my grandfather clock many times and it was always a good experience. I brought the clock to his shop and watched him gently open the back. He showed me all the misaligned parts and bent springs and said that the clock would never keep time in this condition. He said that working on a clock over 100 years old would be delicate work but he would try.2 weeks later I came to his shop to find the clock repaired, accurate and more beautiful than ever. It was cleaned and shining. Though my initial purchase was a bit foolish, Mr. Andrews was able to put a smile on my face. Really a good experience and I wish I had thought of him sooner. BTW...he has a nice selection of coo-coo clocks. That might be next for me!

I broke a piece on my clock. I was told that I would get a call with a repair estimate in a couple of days. When I called a week later it was obvious that it wasnt looked at yet. I couldnt get a price for the broken part. He only wanted to overhaul/clean and oil the entire clock for $265.00 without even mentioning whether or not he could replace the part I broke. After extensive discussion he lowered his price to $165 but still wouldnt confirm that my broken part would be replaced. I brought my clock home. 👎👎

I was very impressed with their professionalism, promptness and the quality of work they do. They repaired my 40 year old grandfather clock at a very responsible price. I contacted Russell about the Ridgeway grandfather clock that I had recently purchased. Since it is an older piece, I was worried about finding someone reputable to service my clock. I walked into Andrews Clocks and Watches after being turned away by two others saying my repair was hopeless and my sentimental attachment to my 60+ year old childhood music box was worthless. After all it probably wasn’t an expensive one purchase at a local department store.I was so excited when he called and I actually heard the box play “ Put Another Nickel In”. A lot of thought and expertise went into its repair and he was just as excited as I was. Can’t believe I almost trashed it.If you think it can’t be repaired, don’t give up bring it here. If you have something that needs repair don’t waste your time running around, this is the place to take it.

I have a hand-built wall clock with a Hermle mechanical movement. After 2 years it stopped running and try as I may, I couldnt get it to work. I took it to Andrews and they got it working again. I have it re-mounted on the wall in my residence and it is keeping almost perfect time ( some adjustment always needed with a mechanical movement & pendulum). the repair priced was very reasonable.

I had been so disheartened, after being told at several different jewelry stores that my antique watch (which once belonged to my great-grandmother) was not fixable, and given the impression that it was not worth fixing even if they could.From the moment I stepped in Andrews, that outlook changed. I was greeted by Caitlyn, who in addition to being welcoming and kind also took the time to explain the workings of this particular watch and possible complications with the repair. She is clearly very knowledgable, and I knew my watch was in great hands.There were a few hiccups in the process, as can often occur with a delicate old timepiece that has been neglected for as long as this one had, but they were diligent in keeping me informed and asking what I would like to do if there were multiple options. When the watch was finished and I returned to pick it up, Russel and I had a delightful conversation about the importance of restoring and preserving pieces like this, and how the memories of our loved ones live on in them with us. He also gave me great instructions for care, and encouraged me to contact them with any questions.Overall, the service was excellent and the prices reasonable. I know that they understand the personal value of items, and will do what it takes to bring new life or restore old into a watch or clock.

Through the passage of time, grime and grease had accumulated in the machine, and the rubber bands that transferred mechanical power to the mill stone and water wheel had disintegrated.I took my clock for servicing to Andrews Clocks and Watches in Hillsdale, New Jersey. That company is an asset and a ambassador for the Loetscher brand.Russell Andrews discovered that I had traveled several hours to their location to personally deliver the clock, rather than risk shipping. He offered to restore it to like-new condition that, same day, if I was willing to wait. I accepted his offer, and I could not be more pleased.Everything about my clock is now like new. The inner workings sparkle and shine, and work perfectly. The degraded damage was repaired, and it was tuned to perfection.Not only was the quality of their work of the highest, professional standard, their customer service was also top-notch.As evidenced by my hand-delivery of my beloved clock, I treat this time piece with care. Excellent service from start to finish. I inherited a Grandmothers Clock that is a true family heirloom though it no longer worked. Russell paid us a house visit, assessed our needs, carefully and lovingly removed all of the necessary pieces (even enrolling my 4-year-old twin sons to be his assistants), and came back exactly a week later to reassemble our treasured clock. Hearing it chime again makes me feel like my grandparents and my father are smiling down on me each time I hear them. He gave great instructions on how to care for it as well. I feel confident we have preserved this clock for future generations under his care! Cant recommend highly enough!

Impeccable service. I used this place for watch repair & battery changing. Fair pricing.

My girlfriend and I had a Seiko Disney musical wall clock with a fried battery compartment (batteries were left in the clock for well over a year and all of the wires in the compartment were corroded). We took the clock directly to the Seiko Corporation in Mawah, NJ. After two weeks I received a letter stating that the clock was no longer in production and spare parts were permanently unavailable. We then took the clock to a local repair shop near my home. We were again told the clock could not be repaired.As a last resort we decided to do a Google search of “clock repair shops in my area” and the first result was Andrews Clocks & Watches. It was about 30 miles away and we took the drive out there. As we walked in with the clock, and before we even said a word, we were met by Russell Andrews who said “Who left the batteries in the clock”? It turns out that this is a common problem with this particular clock. Russell took a look at it and said that the damage was extensive and that the clock was probably too far gone. Even though he was on his way out the door for an appointment, Russell took the time to give it a shot and work on the clock. I’m not sure what he did, but within ten minutes he had the clock working. For the first time in years the music played and the figurines inside began to move. We couldn’t believe it. And to top it off, on his way out the door, Russell said “No charge. I’m just glad to see people happy. And one other thing....change your batteries every few months”!!!!Russell is obviously a gifted watch repairman. But he also cares about his customers and takes great joy in seeing others happy to have their “unfixable” clock brought back to life.Russell has a great heart. The clasp on my Bertolucci watch became loose after decades of use. Jeweler after jeweler told me that the clasp had worn down and the watch had to be sent to the factory. With a little research, I discovered Andrews Clocks and Watches in Hillsdale. Russell Andrews, the proprietor. took three minutes to diagnose and less than a minute to fix it. This guy is an absolute watch and clock genius, and I will never take my precious timepiece to anyone else.

Extremely knowledgeable about clocks

I learned of this place from the watchuseek forum. Brought my vintage Omega Ladymatic (cal 455) from the early 60s to get it overhauled. Russell Andrews, the proprietor quoted me a price. I agreed. Upon opening the watch, he mentioned that it needed new parts. I bought the parts myself, and he agreed to do the movement swap. 4 weeks later, I had to call him to get an update. Final cost ended up being twice as much as originally quoted. To be fair, vintage pieces are hard to quote, but I did not appreciate the lack of a heads up about the potential for a dramatic price increase. I also had to constantly follow up with him, as he would not update me on the progress.At the end of the day, the watch was working and runs well (as far as I can tell). Googles rating system says a 3 star location is Its Okay and a 4 star location is I Liked It. Overall, I would say that Its Okay describes my experience well.If youre willing to follow up the owner on your own, then this place will get the job done.
