Chris is someone I would recommend to anyone. We had a very challenging job and he essentially transformed our entire backyard and installed proper drainage. He is someone who will work with you and adjust as needed. Someone who will make recommendations but won’t be pushy. We had the two record rain storms that did a lot of damage to everyone’s properties and Chris came back the next week to repair and helped us plan and install additional drainage from what we saw from the storm. He’s checked in every week to see how everything is going since and I’ve reached out to him as well on questions I have and he gets back to you very quickly. I’ll definitely be hiring Chris and his crew again.

I recently hired Hillsdale Landscaping because he came highly recommended for a few different friends locally. My experience with Chris the owner was excellent. He guided me through the landscape design process and turned the front of my house into something you would see in a magazine! Chris and his team did a tremendous job cleaning out our backyard. Chris came by the house for a quote within hours after our first phone call. After walking the property, he was able to give a clear description and recommendations on what needed to be done in order to spruce up the yard and to put in a perimeter fence. He understood we had a deadline for the fence installation and made sure to have everything completed by then, which he did. Given the size of the property, Chris and his team were able to dispose years worth of leaves/branches/debris, clear out multiple saplings and lay wood chips in a timely fashion without sacrificing quality. He was courteous and professional as well. Will definitely keep in contact with him for future projects.

My yard had a water issue and Chris was able to detect the problem right away. Within one day, the old, broken and clogged pipe that ran the width of the yard was out from underground and a new one was put in which solved our problem. My wife and I decided to replace the pavers in our patio and walkway, so we contacted 3 reputable contractors for estimates. After meeting with all of them, we realized that Chris was by far the most knowledgeable, and he explained everything that he was going to do in great detail. The preparation he was going to do before installing the pavers was the most thorough, and the products that he was going to use were superior to what the other contractors told us they were going to use.Chris was involved and on site for every step of the rip up and installation of the pavers, as well as for the landscaping that needed to be done afterwards, and his involvement showed in the finished product. His craftsmanship is second to none, and on top of it all, he and his workers are just really nice guys. We loved his work so much that we will be using him going forward to do our landscaping work and to fertilize our lawn, shrubs and flowers. If we were able to rate him higher than 5 stars, we would!

Chris from Hillsdale landscaping is a life saver!! He responded at 8:00 at night during an electrical emergency that required expertise in digging a trench around electrical and gas lines. Chris just did a complicated trench job in our yard. He had to come back multiple times and had to revise the work because of the complexity, but he had a solution every step of the way and it worked out perfectly. Had a tricky issue with an overflowing dry well in front yard. Called a couple of landscapers who seemed mostly perplexed by the issue (or only interested in doing an expensive reconstruction). On his first visit (just the initial sales call), Chris sized up the issue quickly (after getting on his hands and knees, digging up soil, etc.), finding a clog in the main drain pipe and diagnosing the cause for it. He gave me some very sensible, affordable suggestions for fixing and had a crew over quickly to do the work. Very rare to find someone this smart, energetic, personable and reasonable in this line of work. Highly recommend!

Hillsdale Landscaping is hands down THE most professional landscaping company I have ever come across. After meeting with a few (mediocre at best) landscapers, I met with Chris who is PHENOMENAL!! I briefly explained to him what I more or less wanted to have done and he Immediately gave me awesome ideas of what he would do with the yard to bring my vision to life and did he! I was using another company who was not doing a complete job, as an uneducated client, i really Didn’t know any better until i started getting estimates and consulting with other companies. Chris was among the few companies i consulted with, his attention to detail was superior but his knowledge of how landscaping works was unmatched. His explanation & support of his suggestions were logical and detailed. In addition, his fee schedule is easy to understand and competitively priced. Shortly after our consult i hired Him with a full contract. Based on our conversation, i understood there would be no immediate results; however, after his first visit with his crew there was a dramatic difference - to the point where I’m frustrated i wasted Any money at all with another company. Time and energy was totally wasted. Chris is on the property to ensure a positive result and i couldn’t be happier.

Chris did an excellent job on our natural boulder retaining wall for us. He is very knowledgable and will work with you to nail down any problems you might have with your design and any problems with drainage, etc. He finished our 3 high by 25 long retaining wall in a day! We are using him to also install our raised bluestone patio and am sure we will be just as satisfied.
