I had live here about 8 years and Im pleased of course from time to time is a delay on maintenance but nothing mayor ...nice clean place to live with easy access to NYC transportation

Kaplan company is a terrible company to work for. Many loopholes, and lies they’ll feed you. The company has no diversity they allow racial slurs with no consequences, they’re unprofessional, and it’s family owned so unless you’re family chances of you moving up are very slim to none. During the interview you’re informed of being on call as a maintenance tech, but are unaware that it is a 2 man rotation the maintenance supervisor is unwilling to take the phone! Management is sarcastic and do not care about the well being of their very few colored employees they have. The leasing property manager and assistant manager smile in your face just to collect money but do not and will not have your best interest at heart, you cannot trust anyone at the company. Stay away maintenance techs seeking employment do not rush your process they’re desperate for someone to take the job phone so like I said earlier they’ll promise you whatever and smile endlessly as they lowball you with pay!

June 23, 2020To whom it may concern:I, Gustavo, am a renter here at 88 ROOSEVELT AVE, CARTERET, NJ 07008. At 9:30 PM last night I went to the garage and realized that I had been a victim of a theft here. I recently bought two professional riding bikes for which I still have receipts and they were gone even though they were properly secured with U-LOCKS. I would like to file a complaint with the office here and would like to request copies of any security camera footage available with regards to this incident. Additionally, I would like to know what additional measures and/or responsibilities the rental management company will be taking towards compensating me, a loyal and responsible renter, with regards to this theft. It is not just that we are paying above the average for this rental by choice because we were marketed and convinced that the building had extra security and extra features to keep us safe. The security is clearly inadequate. Additionally, our experience when we went to try to contact the super was extremely unsatisfactory. The super already knew that someone broke into the garage and that they had already seen the videos. We asked to see the videos and to speak to the manager of the property and they told me that the person was out of town. My fiance who lives in the apartment with me started crying and we called the police. The super indicated Aracelly is the person in charge, we asked to speak to her and she refused to call us or answer our calls. My finance is in a mental depression state as she was once a victim of a home invasion reasons why we moved from NY TO NJ, shes no longer feeling safe and this experience has a caused us a bad taste of peace of mind, this is a violation of our lease, we supposed to feel safe in our homes. We also had several incidents in which we have filed complaints on, an incident with a speedy car in the garage that almost caused my fiance an accident, we sent several emails regarding the gym to have its proper equipment to be functional, The fire Pitt doesnt work, kids who are not residents of the property are hanging out in our lobbys and smoking illegal drugs and peeing in our lobbys. The lack of sympathy shows and proves there needs to be a change in management. As soon as we called the police, less than 5 minutes later, the person who was out of town and responsible magically appeared who was the super of the property. They told us that they couldnt help us and are not responsible for items in the garage. With regards to this statement I have a few things to say.1) This is not what we were marketed regarding superior security. 2) Neither the super nor the management team sent out communications to the residents regarding the theft occurrence in the building. The management team always emails and communicates with all residents about building news. Why was this case any different? Was this an inside job? We are left with many questions that have been unanswered and need to know how justice will be served. This is very important information whether it was a theft to us or not. My fiance is a young woman and very frequently goes into the garage by herself, how is she supposed to feel safe? anyone can easily get into these apartments, yet no one informed any of the residents about a theft that they already knew about. Our jobs as residents will be to informing every resident in our building that this is completely irresponsible on behalf of the super and management team.I humbly request your assistance with this matter and look forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience

Their Colony Oaks Aprtments are absolutely the WORST place to live. My husband and I are breaking our lease as soon as we find another more suitable place to live. I could literally go on for hours about how terrible this community is but I’ll condense it for you. When we moved in the apartment was a complete mess. They never cleaned it and refused to when we moved in. My dog was literally eating things off the floor and the place smelled terrible. We recently had maintenance workers in our apartment as part of a mandated electrical panel update and they left our place a COMPLETE MESS. I’m talking drywall and paint all over the floor, wiring left around, trash left outside our apartment door, AND DOG POOP was stepped in and tracked around my entire apartment. They went through our stuff as items were left in places we don’t ever keep them and knocked over. I even found a used glove under my sink in the bathroom. They were changing the electrical panel and had absolutely no need to be anywhere else in the apartment. We contacted the leasing office and they said it’s work done by a 3rd party company and we found out they were left unattended in our apartment during the work. I’m terrified personal information was stolen. Also when bringing up my concerns about the mess the answer I got was “These are construction men and we can’t expect them to be as careful as women.” They were completely unhelpful and no one from corporate will call me back about these concerns. Don’t live here if you value keeping your personal information safe and your home cleanly.
