Everyone is friendly. The Covid-19 safety measures are decent. Great multiple financing options available which helps for people who have multiple pets. Enjoying the services so far and planning to bring all my pets to Northwood. They treat my dog and myself with kindness and professionalism. I appreciate that very much. Upon recommendation, I’ve set up to take my dogs here after moving to this area in April. Ive been pretty lucky in finding good vets wherever I am (aside from a bad apple or two), and I’ve found myself in luck again! I love this vet. They were honest, effective, the vet techs were amazing, and they really care about your animals. You can see it in the way they handle them, talk to them and care for them. They’re super friendly and have an extreme amount of patience, and explain things very well. If your eyes happen to find my review, take it from me (I’m extremely picky about the vets my animals see), GO HERE. They are excellent.

Ive moved a lot, and sadly have had to take my dogs to a lot of different vets over the years, but Northwood is by far the best. I have never had a vet that communicated so well, on a consistent basis, with follow-up before, during and after an appointment, the way that they do. They understand that your pet is family and provide a high level of care. All of their team members are gracious and easy to talk too. My parents and I take all of our (4) dogs to this office and recommend it to all of our friends. If I could pluck this vet out of High Point and take it with me wherever I move next, I 100% would.

This was our first visit here and we were very pleased. The vet was very thorough in explaining what our dog needed and going through the treatment plan with me. They also called to check up on him a week later. They were professional, kind, and affordable.

Concerned about your pets health???As avid animal lovers, we always try to promote and support good pet care facilities, whether daycare or full-service hospitals. We are also small business owners and understand what it takes to build lasting relationships in the local community. However, this time its a bit different. This review is to share a rather negative experience with a pet care facility.Our pet has been going to this facility for over a year.The first incident happened when it was an emergency visit a year ago. The facility took our pet in and informed us at the same time that they were closing in 10 minutes and still decided to perform blood work without prior approval. They then handed the pet back, saying you need to take the pet to a hospital since this facility is closing. A week later, we received a bill for $150.00! It came off as wholly unprofessional and unreliable.The second incident happened a month and a half ago when we took our pet in for daycare only to get him back with a kennel cough. We called to inform them of this, only to get an attitude from whoever answered the phone and said that couldnt be the case because they have not heard of anyone complaining of kennel cough. We informed them that we could be the first to bring it up and make them aware. Instead of being grateful, the staff returned the gesture with an attitude.A month later, we called to make an appointment for daycare and learned a nasty upper respiratory infection has been going on at the center. Our response - Oh! Kennel cough!; They denied it was a kennel cough and that it was something going on all around the area. Obviously, we decided not to take him in.A few weeks later, our pet needed overnight boarding. We called ahead and asked if there was anything of concern at the facility and were informed that some kennel cough cases were reported weeks before, but everything is okay now, and they have taken care of the issue. The next day, when we picked him up, he smelled awful (like dog S#!t), and as we got home, we noticed he had a severe outbreak of kennel cough. Upon calling them, they refused to accept any responsibility or offer any medication.It cost us over $400 to treat the infection at Happy Tails Emergency Clinic in Greensboro, only to find out that the medication itself cost under $2. The emergency visit and IV medication they gave him cost the rest. Had my now X-Vet, Northwood Animal Hospital at 507 Eastchester Drive in Highpoint, done the right thing, it would have only cost them the $2. The staff at Northwood Animal Hospital does not care about the customer or their pet. Very disappointed with the experience, and we will neither go there again nor recommend it to anyone.

My experience has been mainly with Doggie Day Camp. The kennel/day camp manager and staff truly make me feel they love Dixie Rose as much as I do! And Dixie loves when she sees them walking out to the car to get her. This confirms it! ❤️

We have been here for a few years now and with 3 dogs and 4 cats they know our phone number when we call. Finishing now because our plane took off early. The Doctors and support staff are AMAZING. They know our fur-babies by name on sight. And they have stayed to help inform us and be supportive when we had to make those hard decisions every pet parent has to make.

My dog, Boo developed an anxiety disorder in July 2021. Northwood was extremely helpful in reassuring me that I could send his things from home that made him comfortable as well as his ThunderShirt that they could put on him if he became stressed while he was kennelled for 5 days . They also put him in a room with only two other dogs to keep him from being anxious. When I called to check on him they would go down and take pictures of him for me.Kaitlyn ( their behavior person), was extremely helpful in suggesting alternative ways to deal with Boos anxiety while I waited for his appointment.All of the staff there that I have dealt with, including; Jonathan (he and his wife are the owners), Dr. Haley, the vet techs and the people who answer the phone, are very accommodating and reassuring.Dr. Haley takes time to explain everything during your appointment so you dont feel rushed or like your concerns arent addressed.The vet techs are very good and loving with my dog Boo. They even sent me the kennel form 4 different times because I needed to add things to it.I also noticed one day when I was there that the K9 dogs (for I believe the sheriffs department) are seen there.The only concern I would say that I have, is that its hard to get an appointment with Doctor Haley (in particular), if you have an emergency situation. I think thats because they just have so much business and not enough veterinarians to handle the amount of people and pets they see.Wendy Tenenoff

I can’t think of anything that could have been done better. My visit was quick. Dr Clodfelter was great about discussing Bishop’s ears and possible thoughts if he continues to have trouble going forward. They got him fixed up with an ear pack and we were on our way! We’ll be in next week for doggie day care and a Rx refill. NAH is the best!

This is one of my favorite hometown, small businesses. The owners and staff are amazing and I truly feel like a VIP each time I visit. The current curbside service is awesome. We board our dogs (all four🤦🏻‍♀️) each time we go out of town. They know us, and all the pups by name. I highly recommend!!!

Sam was not feeling well and they worked him in very quickly. They are always so good at keeping me informed. We love NAH!

Recently I had to let a furbaby cross the Rainbow Bridge. Very sad. But Dr. Clarke was amazing... Im pretty sure when she gave me the diagnosis she knew my cat was not going to make it long. But she never pressured me to make a decision quickly nor did she try to push me to expensive treatments that ultimately were not going to do any good. I was able to give my cat the best last 48 hours I could and when it was time she and the staff at Northwood treated my baby like she had been their own pet. I have always had great experiences at NAH and am thankful for their concern and care for my babies. I am a loyal customer for life.

Very helpful and friendly people! I took my dog there for his first puppy wellness exam and they answered all my questions and took great care of my dog. The representative that helped me, (i believe her name was Hannah) was absolutely amazing and made me my dog feel comfortable and excited to come back. Fast and effective curbside service and reasonably priced.

I took my dog to Northwood Animal Hospital for the first time and I had such a pleasant experience. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Foster was so good to my dog and the tech was very nice(sorry I can remember her name). However the receptionist were what made my trip so pleasant. From the moment I made his appointment to the moment I left I felt welcomed (that is even sitting in my car). Courtney in particular was the best, she came out to my car to see if I would like water or a snack. I had a few questions and she stood out in the hot weather to answer them. You can tell that she enjoys her job and and loves all of the animals, which makes a difference in my eyes. Best experience at a vets office ever!

We started bringing our pets to Northwood on the recommendation of a friend, and absolutely love them. Everyone on the staff here, from the doctors to the techs, are hands-down some of the nicest, most courteous, and genuinely friendly and caring people Ive encountered at a business. They genuinely seem to care about your pets, and while they take their time and do a thorough job, they never keep you waiting. They are timely, considerate, professional, compassionate, and I have yet to have a bad experience with these guys. If youre looking for someone you can really trust your fur babies with in the High Point area, Northwood is absolutely the best!

Recently me and my girlfriend came across a stray dog. He was incredibly nice, and we wanted to make sure he was taken care of. We took him to Northwood Animal Hospital after hearing great things. When we took him in initially to get a check up everyone was very courteous and friendly, from the front end staff to the veterinarians. Northwood was able to get Georges dental work done, and we have since put together a schedule for anymore treatment that needs to be done in the future. I can say that both me and George feel secure with Northwood Animal Hospital.

I can’t think of anything to make my experience better. You can tell that they care for your animal like you do. They were so great!!

We just got a new puppy so of course we knew wed be at the vet a lot for the first few months. I did research online and liked the reviews for Northwood. So far we love it there! We havent been able to go inside yet, due to Covid, but they are making everything as simple as they can. Every time Ive called they are so friendly and they answer all questions that we have. The staff has been so kind and they seem to really treat animals well. The first time I called I asked if they could give me a rundown of prices since I knew wed be visiting a lot for puppy shots and she happily broke everything down for me.

Have been taking our dog there for a few years. Sadly we had to make the difficult choice of putting our dear pup down. We took her in last week and were told they would take care of everything and save a piece of her fur for us. Got a call the following week to pick up her remains. And to our surprise they were missing the fur. After several calls they ultimately found out no one even did it. With such an important and difficult time/decision we had to make we trusted in them to take care of it. We are extremely upset we will not have a piece of that memory of her. Extremely disappointed with them and heartbroken. We were given an apology and and offer to donate to a charity. That was a nice gesture but does not fix what was taken from us. We will never be using Northwood animal Hospital again.

I’m so glad we found Northwood Animal Hospital! We have been patients of theirs for a few years now and I couldn’t be happier with the service and love that they provide. We have taken Mae in for routine checkups, baths and nail trims and a couple of emergency visits and no matter what type of visit we wind up needing they always provide 110% in service and care! Other than the fantastic support they give to our dog they are also very community oriented. We love attending the events they put on for their patrons. One of our only family traditions is to go to NAH every December to get pictures with Santa and our pup. We have found our furever vet!

Bare with me, this will be a long one. I have been a customer of Northwood since 2017, we originally started going because we needed a second opinion for my oldest dogs health issues and made the switch for all of our animals after we were pleased with the service. We had a total of 4 animals going to Northwood and we have seen every doctor there in our almost 5 years going there. Our oldest dog now goes to a specialist in Charlotte, but we have kept our kitties at Northwood because of convenience and proximity to where we live, we were overall happy with the service and our kitties made friends with some of the techs there and were comfortable. Our oldest kitty is now around 12/13, not exactly sure since she was a rescue, she is very small and frail. We went in this week for an exam and for her yearly depo shot for her allergies, they checked over her teeth and her teeth were not in great shape which is something I expected at her age. She eats well at home and doesnt seem to be in pain at all, but of course I will do everything I can to help her live the longest happiest life she can live but I definitely have some concerns for putting her under anesthesia at her age and how small she is. I know enough to know that anesthesia and possible surgery can be very risky for geriatric animals, especially at 6 pounds. Once they were done with the appointment, the vet tech brought her out to me and explained that her teeth were not in great shape, I expressed my concerns and the vet tech was super sweet and very acknowledging of my concerns, thank you Hannah! Then Dr. Clodefelfer called me and we discussed her teeth and I expressed my concerns to her. My exact words were that I will do anything to help her live a long and happy life but I am extremely concerned about putting her under anesthesia, Dr. Clodfelter dismissed my concerns and her exact words to me were she wont live that long If you dont do something with her teeth. While I can appreciate the honesty and what she was trying to say, I dont appreciate how abrasive she chose to be with me when expressing real concerns for my fur baby. I was not refusing the service, just expressing concerns hoping for an educated response telling me why she thought my kitty was a good candidate for a surgery at her age and the preventative measures they would take to ensure her safety. Instead, I got a very opinionated and abrasive response that has prompted me to make the decision to take my business elsewhere to someone who will help put my concerns at ease rather than getting frustrated and making huffy remarks. I am sad to leave Northwood, but after resonating with the response I got, I feel it is the best option for myself and my fur children.

Absolutely exemplary work, from customer service to giving my dog the best care possible, great experience all the way around, so if you want you and your pet taken care of, Northwood Animal Hospital is the place.

Excellent doctors but EXTREMELY high prices. They also do unnecessary tests, such as heartworm for a dog who has been on meds and they charge to write a script if you want to use a cheaper meds provider. Money seems to be their main care about. I am looking for a more affordable option.

Ive been going to NAH for over a year now and have always had pleasant experiences. Its roughly in the middle for prices, but the staff is tops. I have been to the clinic twice in the past two weeks, once for a yearly checkup and once for an emergency. They were able to see us on short notice, considering the changes due to covid, and they took great care of my pup. The staff is always very kind. The doc explained everything to me in a way I would understand. They were upfront about pricing. I am very appreciative of this place and the care they give all animals. Northwood Animal Hospital has been excellent to work with. They make both you and your pet feel safe and at home! Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We love the communication, professionalism and overall care we have received from their great Dr. and staff!

I took my brand new puppy for his initial evaluation here on 8/14/20 because it was recommended by a rescue for which I volunteered and is relatively close by. I was pleased overall, but didnt like having to do curbside service, though it is understandable given the COVID-19 pandemic. The vet tech who assisted me was informative and friendly, as was another staff member putting up signs in the parking lot. So, their presence helped the remote nature of the appointment. The vet called to talk to me on phone and that was fine, but I didnt feel like I could keep her on phone long asking questions and wasnt sure how to contact the practice when I had questions the next day. I emailed them and will call if that isnt responded to in timely fashion. They do have nice amenities, such as a dog park, doggie day care, and spa services, though I have not yet used them and wont be until puppy has had all his vaccinations.6/20/21 update: I have no complaints. Ive been pleased with their services since his first visit at 8 weeks old. I was really glad to be able to come inside for his most recent sick visit 6/17/21 (couple days before his 1 year birthday).Sept 2021 update: Pup was due for annual vaccination boosters. Pleased as usual with their service. I am completely satisfied with Northwood Animal Hospital.

We love NAH! Our staff brings our pups to Northwood because we know we will be given the best care and attention! Dr. Slivka, Jon and their team are incredibly accommodating and care so much about their patients!

The staff and quality of service is 5 stars. The reason for my 3 star review is around the lack of transparency around price increases. Ownership has been slowly increasing the cost to see the vet over the last 2 years. It now costs $55 just to see the vet. Ownership has been adding a dollar or two every few months over the last 2 years. They don’t send out any kind of announcement about price increases and when I emailed them directly I received no response. I would encourage people to seek second and third opinions when it comes to the cost of services. There are several great practices located in the Triad who are not passing along price increases multiple times a year.

Not Happy at all. My 7 year old Pom was taking there on a sat. Throwing out and not feeling wellThey supposedly rum test and said he had pancreatic issues and low thyroid. He got no better second visit on Tuesday naturally more money still no better. I had my dogs first visit here today and the curbside service was great. I wasnt able to go in with my pet due to Covid, which was fine, but I assume they treated her well because she came back happy. However, I asked for a bill total before they charged my card and they did not let me know - just simply charged it and gave me a receipt - never spoke with me about a total amount. As I used to work at a vet clinic myself, I am aware that medication prices inflate frequently, but their medication prices are extremely high. If I would have known the price BEFORE my card was charged like I requested, I would not have purchased that medication. Now Im stuck with it. All in all, I may be back. The visit was decent.

I am new to the area and nervous about my senior cat going to a new vet. All of the employees were polite and helpful with making my appointment and getting checked in, all of my concerns were addressed as well. I was also educated on different rabies vaccinations and felt very confident making a decision! The online pet portal is also very helpful and easy to use! My kitties and I are very happy and well taken care of!*edit* Because of COVID they have moved to only curb-side service. My cats and I are still getting amazing care, the vet calls to discuss any concerns during an appointment. The staff at Northwood continue to go above and beyond!

The staff at this animal hospital truly went above and beyond to provide compassionate end-of-life care to our sweet elderly dog. The kind staff made such an effort to help us during such a difficult time, on top of fitting us in with very short notice. We are extremely grateful.

I am a new resident to NC and the area. I did some research on and was referred to NAH.I had a very pleasant visit. The staff was very attentive to me and my Pembroke Welsh Corgi Oliver.All seem very knowledgeable and professional. I now have an appointment scheduled for our other corgi Elwood as well.

My dog recently needed a procedure that I was very nervous about. The vet took her time to explain everything, she made sure I knew my options, and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan. The entire staff is friendly and professional. You can tell they really care about the animals. The only negative side is the prices are a little higher than the other local vets. However, you are paying for up to date technology and well trained staff. I would definitely recommend NAH to anyone looking for great vet!

1st visit for our dog. Staff very nice. We asked about price beforehand. Then, said ok. Then our dog needed 2 rxs, which they had already charged our card. Did not give us option of getting script only so we could get cheaper. Found out they charged us twice as much for the meds than what I could get online! Buyer Beware!

Our 6 month old puppy Abby presented with severe diarrhea and vomiting on Monday morning. I called at 1 o’clock and they had an appointment available at 4. By the time of her appointment, Abby was so sick and weak she was vomiting blood and couldn’t hold her head up. Abby was evaluated and we were immediately told that Abby needed emergency surgery to rule out something very bad. We were communicated with every step of the way. Dr. Foster and the staff at Northwood went above and BEYOND and stayed over 4 hrs after closing time to help our sweet Abby. We feel so blessed to still have our Abby and she is expected to make a full recovery! We cannot thank the staff at Northwood enough for their kindness and care for Abby and us her pet parents.From the bottom of our hearts,Thank you!-A&L

*This place.* So, let me preface this review with the mention that I love my dog and cat more than anything in the world and would any place be worthy of less than five stars I would immediately try elsewhere. But this place is puppy and kitty paradise.My dog has been loving her time at Northwood since the day I took her home from the shelter, and my curmudgeonly cat is also a patient at Northwood and generally tolerates it. Ive since moved away from High Point, but I drive over from Winston because this place is so incredibly well managed.Dr. Slivka is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable about what she does and her kind and calm demeanor puts even the jumpiest of animals at ease. Shes also able to explain dog and cat health and behavior to human clients in a clear and accessible way. I once as a new dog mom brought my dog in because she *might* have gotten into dont-eat-this-packet packet, and she saw my dog immediately AND had the grace to not treat me like the crazy hypochondriac mum that I almost certainly was.But in truth, the whole crew seems to know exactly what theyre doing. The vet techs are great, the folks at the front are organized and efficient. Sam, who works at the front, is one of my dogs top humans (and she doesnt generally like men!) She is a somewhat anxious rescue, but as soon as she walks through the door she jumps right up and asks Sam for a treat. Since my dog is still growing and on the cusp of meds for small and medium sized dogs, he takes the time to weigh her every time I come in just to make sure the dosage is perfect. He runs that place like a machine, checking folks in, distributing meds, and charming all the animals!Take one look at the adorable dog park in the back and you will see how much these people care for and understand animals.

I have gone to Northwood since I moved back to High point over 20 years ago and we took our family dogs to see Dr McNeill back in the 70s so I cant say enough nice things about Northwood

Very happy with NAH! I brought my dog in a few weeks ago for his first adult vet visit. My dog is not super friendly and doesnt do well in new situations. However NAH exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff could tell he was anxious, and while they were very sweet, they gave him space and time to get familiar with his new surroundings. The vet tech worked very hard to win his trust, and was very gentle and comforting during his exam. By the end of the visit, she had won him over and he was very comfortable and happy. The vet was outstanding! She took the time to answer all my questions, explained the procedures they were doing and didnt make me feel rushed or pressured into anything. They worked within my budget, offered several different treatment options, and let me choose what worked best for us. They even called us a week after the visit to check in and see how he was doing. Recommend them to everyone!

Love this veterinary facility! Every time weve needed to visit, they usually could get us in within a day or two for normal treatment/preventive care, and within 5-7 days for non-life threatening surgery.Dr. Slater is the only doctor we have used for our pets care. She is very knowledgeable and accommodating, plus she seems to stay educated and up-to-date with the advancements taking place in her field. She also spent lots of time with us in the examine room explaining (in detail) several surgeries our pet would be undergoing and answered all our questions that followed. We didnt feel rushed at all, and she made sure we got an email later with estimates. The vet techs weve met are also very sweet. After each visit, we get a follow up call and/or email when appropriate. We were even called directly by Dr. Slater with an update after our pets surgery.Each person weve encountered here has reassured us our pet is in good hands, and they treat her like their own pet! Havent had any negative experiences with this facility, doctor or staff. Definitely going to keep returning to this vet with our current (and future) pets. Keep up the quality service, Northwood!

We have been taking our beloved Japanese Chins to Northwood for years. They treat our babies like their own and we are thrilled with the treatment they receive.

Northwood Animal Hospital provided excellent care for my kittens first visit to a veterinarian center. Everyone there were very caring and professional towards myself and Smerf.Dr. Foster was thorough yet compassionate towards my kitten as he explained to me what he was doing & why. He told me all test results and recommended what future shots that she would need & together we determined her approximate age & when she would be able to be spayed.Together Dr. Foster, myself and the staff set up her future treatments.Thank you and your staff for making this visit a very pleasant experience.

You cant ask for Better Communication from a veterinarian and Staff than you get from Northwood Animal Hospital

My son had a horrible experience with this vet hospital! He brought his dog in to be neutered and brought his dog home and found he was bleeding excessively after about an hour to an hour and a half. They told him he was bleeding because they claim his dog was being playful and not being calm. Actually when my son got home from the vet, we took him straight to the his room and he laid down and that’s when he started bleeding. I told the vet of the situation and they said it’s a he said she said thing and charge my son An additional procedure full amount. I am out raged that they will make my son pay the full amount and put his dog through another procedure because they couldn’t do it right the first time. I do not recommend this veterinary hospital to Anyone.

I cannot recommend Northwood Animal Hospital enough! The entire staff is caring, helpful and professional. Recently, my family had to make the difficult decision to euthanize one of our furry-babies. Dr. Clarke and her staff were kind, compassionate and helped step us through the decision. On the sad day, Dr. Clarke spent time with us to explain the process and what to expect - never rushing us or making us feel pressured. A few days later, a condolence card arrived in the mailbox signed by the entire NAH staff along with a paw print card. It was a nice touch and only strengthened our belief that NAH truly cares about its human customers and furry-patients. They also provide excellent routine services - vaccinations, check-ups, physicals, blood-work, x-rays, etc.. Their prices for these services are reasonable and affordable. It is easy to make appointments with NAH, often same-day appointments can be made, but if not, its usually only a day or two after calling. All-in-all, NAH is awesome and our family highly recommends them to anyone needing veterinary services.

Update from last review. Quoted me one price then raised it. Said dog needed one shot, then changed to three shots. I asked to have Jonathan Marquez call me 3 times, he was always to busy. I wont be back and I dont recommend anyone taking there babies there.

NAH Is the best place to take your fur babies in the Triad. I have taken my Maltese baby there for 6 years to see Jonathan and the wonderful staff. The facility is state of the art, clean and well organized. I recently visited for Lilly to have a proheart injection and upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner. I had an appointment scheduled that day and we were promptly helped. Every visit that I have had to this facility has been a pleasant one and I will continue to trust my baby’s care in their hands. Thank you NAH for having such a wonderful, caring place in the triad for me to trust for my fur babies care 🐶❤️

This was my first experience visiting a vet and it was wonderful! From opening the front door they were warm and welcoming to Zoey and I. They took great care of her during her visit, being it was her first puppy visit. I couldnt ask for better care for her. Definitely recommend them.

I brought my cat to Northwood Animal Hospital for the first time this week and I had such an amazing experience. My cat is HORRIBLE at the vet and Dr. Traxler handled him so sweetly. I trust them completely with my fur baby. They create such a safe and welcoming environment.

Very kind and compassionate care. They really go above and beyond to make sure you and your pets are happy. I have 5 pets and they are very helpful with scheduling and they always get me an appointment very quickly if something goes wrong. Every one there is super nice.

I was able to book a same-day appointment for my dog, who was struggling with some issues related to aging and allergies. The customer service I received was excellent and everyone who interacted with my overly anxious, senior citizen pup was extremely kind. I will be transferring the care of my other 2 pups to Northwood after the superb service I received! Thank you for caring about my fur babies the way that I do!
