These guys are the best. Im so glad to have found them. Theyre right around the corner from where I work and always offer me transportation back to my office after I drop my car off. All I can say is wow!!!!! To say I was stunned by the professionalism, quality of work and customer service would be an understatement. I’ve been trying for so long to figure out what was wrong with my volkswagen going from shop to shop, only to never really get an answer. The last place I took it too had my car for nearly a month still to no avail. I took it here and the problem was diagnosed and fixed the same day. I’ve never seen anything like it. Everybody i spoke to on the phone was friendly and even more so in person. I had to pick my car up after hours and key pickup was easy as well. I hope I don’t have any more issues soon but if I do I certainly know where to go. I must admit I’m not the one to typically write reviews unless the service is amazing and they truly blew me away! I’ll be recommending anyone I know to come here. Don’t even think about it just go!! You won’t regret it

The people who run Newtons are very nice and willing to discuss any issues in a clear, informative way. However, they have failed to fix whats wrong with two cars on two occasions. After a bill for over $300 my car still rattled. After a $400 bill, my husbands wheels still made sounds and clicked when driving. They have failed to identify things that were easily spotted by other mechanics. They charge $120 to inspect a car, and give a full report whether or not its needed. The dealership doesnt charge that much. On top of that, after telling me my brakes were fine, a month later, Im getting my brake pads and rotors replaced because of severe wear that certainly didnt occur over the course of a month. I really cant recommend this place. Ive given them repeated business and theyve failed to deliver.

They were able to get me in pretty quickly. Everything went smoothly and they didnt do anything extra without talking to me first and even gave me prices if what they were doing. I did a inspection.

Inspected my vehicle and made me aware that I had a tail light out. Art immediately called me and informed me of the price change and offered me after hours pickup if I payed by card over the phone. Very professional staff very pleasant experience.

I had been told by another repair shop that my rear brakes were getting bad and would need to be replaced soon. When I noticed a little squealing when the brakes where wet I decided to bring car in for new brakes. I found Newtons online with great reviews. Greg and Art were professional and courteous. They checked my brakes and did a general overall check. Imagine my surprise when they told me I didnt need new brake pads or rotors. They could have easily done the work and charged me but they were honest and only did what was needed. Even though there are several car repairs shops closer to where I live Ill be returning to Newtons...I highly recommend.

My experience was fantastic. I was met initially with 2 intelligent guys that actually listened to what my issue was. Then they scheduled a time for me to bring my car in. I was emailed and texted 2 reminders of my appointment date. Thats fantastic! When I brought my car in, they told me I would get some kind of response early that afternoon with what their inspection discovers. They sent me a text with a link to their work order and recommendations. I was able to approve or deny the services they were recommending. This was broken down by parts and labor, and each part was priced out. I find this very impressive and very important. Ive had a hard time finding a mechanic over the past 3 years that I can trust. When everything is broken out like that, you can verify for yourself if the price is fair or not. My entire experience up to this point had been fantastic.I then had a conversation with them about what I wanted done and what else they saw, or how I should go about fixing things. They werent pushy or salesy, just told me what I needed to do to fix my issue. I then approved the work order they texted me. They had my car fixed and ready to go the next day, actually sooner than they told me they would be finished with it. That NEVER happens! They fixed my issue, and told me about another that I needed to address. I actually did that myself, but I didnt even know it was an issue when I brought it in initially (and it actually was).Bottom line, I have finally found our mechanic! This WILL BE the place we take our vehicles to for any issues. I dont think I could recommend them enough. Its very hard to find a mechanic you can trust, in my opinion. Id give more than 5 stars if I could!

I was referred to Newtons a few years ago when I was having trouble finding a mechanic I could trust. Newtons is a drive for me but I really needed someone who could be transparent with me and keep my best interest in mind. Greg and Art are both down to earth and built a trusting relationship with me immediately. This past week, I called Greg about an issue that I wanted to try and fix on my own. But I realized I was going to need his help, so I asked for a quote. I brought my car in expecting a bill of at least $900. Greg came back to me and found the fix was actually just a couple of dollars. They could have made the $900 repair I thought I would need, and I wouldnt have known any better. But I believe that Greg and Art truly have my best interest in mind. That said, if youre having trouble finding a mechanic you can trust and whos transparent, go to Newtons. I am so happy I decided to go to Newtons.

I cant honestly say anything about the quality of the work, as the cost for repairing my vehicle was more than it was worth. I can say it was the nicest and most professional car repair shop I have ever been to. Considering it was a horrible day in general, my experience with the death of my vehicle couldnt have been better. Performed NC Inspection for my car. Replaced windshield wipers. Very efficient and fast. Communication was excellent (sent reminder texts of appt). Facility smelled clean, fresh, and was in excellent visible order. Restrooms also in great shape. The refreshments were appreciated too. I will be coming back for further service!

Craig was great. He was able to squeeze me in for an inspection within a few hours of me calling. I was there by 11. They had a great corner with toys for my toddler and drinks available in the waiting area. I was in and out with 35 mins and the guys were super respectful. Will use them in the future.

When you find the “right” mechanic you keep them. I had 1 mechanic for 18 years in Utah but when I moved to NC I needed a new one. Newton’s is the “”RIGHT” mechanic for me here. I will recommend them to anyone that asks.

Im going to share two experiences to justify my rating. TLDR, I wont be returning, too stringent interpretation of the law, and some shadiness, which was the thing that really turned me off.Let me preface this by saying that Im not a fan of state inspections in general, at least not as implemented, particularly safety because they open way too much to interpretation by the mechanic/shop, who has a conflict of interest with regard to repair. Additionally, Im the type of guy, the son of a mechanic, and at one time a mechanic myself, as well as an engineer, who has had things repaired in a shop by someone less times than I can count on one hand, over a 33 year period of time. If something is broken and its a true safety issue, Id have already fixed it.November 2020 visit for state inspection:Because of Covid, I put off the inspection last year as per NC state extension guidelines, until the last minute, which was November 2020 At the time I passed, with no corrections, but the guy stated, your front tires were very close but we let them go. This concerned me, so I measured them at various places on the tires with a caliper at home. The lowest measurement was 0.09, when the state guideline is 0.0625 (2/32 or 1/16). Needless to say, this was rolling in my head for a while as the car approached 2021 inspection.To note, In November 2020, there were mask mandates for Covid, and not a single person in the shop or the reception area, that worked there, was wearing a mask, so I stood outside while they did the inspection. So, between that and the tire thing, I almost didnt go back. That said, Im not a native of this city, I moved here 5 years ago, and I dont know a guy, so when I need to do things like this, Im just guessing whose good, so I decided to return because they at least have an easy way to make an appointment online.June 2021 visit for state Inspection:Before the inspection I went to discount tire a couple weeks earlier and had new tires put on, even though they werent quite necessary. This highlights my problem with inspections, its like a little mechanical fiefdom with a bunch of dudes gaslighting you, even though you know the car, the state spec, and can fix it yourself, or maybe know cars/engines better than they do, because once youre in there, you are somewhat of a captive audience. So I spent money, just in case, because the inspector can be nitpicky, has no oversight, and you cant argue because they wont budge. The most you can do is accept the failure, then fix it, then waste your time returning and/or going somewhere else, or just pay them to fix it, no matter the cost or necessity, or preemptively fix something way ahead of necessity.So, the tires were fine, but this time it was a tear in my wipers.I had specifically put wiper fluid in, and tested the wipers, including picking them up off the windshield to clear some debris from a tree I have to park under. I had also run the wipers from within the car both yesterday, and the morning before arrival at inspection. At no point did I notice a tear in the wipers, and if there was one, it certainly had no effect on the functioning of the wipers (it was small). After I balked at their assessment they brought me the passenger side wiper to show me and it it was torn about 3.5 inches on one end. Sorry, but NO WAY was it torn that much, as I stated, I had physically touched the wipers, stood right over them, cleared debris next to that specific wiper, and used the wiper, I would have noticed a big strand flopping around. In fact, when he showed me, you could see the white clean edging where the guy had torn them further to accentuate the problem.I capitulated to replacing them, and they didnt charge labor, but the cost of the wipers was $20, more than Id pay somewhere else by a few bucks.Problem is, the wiper spec for my vehicle is 24, and 13, and they put a 14 on the passenger side. They also replaced both wipers, when likely the driver side didnt need it at all.

My daughter goes to High Point University, and since I live two hours away, I was concerned for several reasons when she had car trouble. I knew I would be at the mechanics mercy and did not want to be taken for a ride. The folks at Newtons were friendly, gave explanations all along the way, and gave me peace of mind concerning the quality of repair AND the damage to my wallet. Pricing was fair and they were very professional. Ill send her back there if she has any more car trouble.

I used to own a 2011 Chevy Traverse, and I took it in for a routine oil change. Upon completing their complimentary inspection, they found a major issue that could have put my life, and my daughters lives, in danger. Thanks to their quick eye, I was able to get things handled appropriately. They never once pushed me into having any services done, but stated they wanted to advise me of the issues they found because they knew I was a single mother of two, and I wont ever be able to thank them enough for being so personal, yet professional, with me. I cannot say enough great things about the staff here. They ensure youre taken care of and will do anything they can to accommodate you. If youre looking for somewhere to go (and somewhere that wont try to take advantage of you), I recommend Newtons Car Care.

They really deserve 4.5 stars. I took my car there to get the AC/blower fixed. Thanks to the NC inspection (1st time since weve moved here), they ended up with a bunch of other services, including tires. I wasnt happy about spending a ton of money on a 2008 car, but my gripe is with the state, not Newtons Car Care. They took care of everything really quickly and were very professional and courteous.Only thing that keeps them from getting 5 stars was trying to sell me 85000 mile tires for a 12 year old car. I literally laughed. They finally found a set of tires for the same price Costco listed, so no harm done.The car runs great, and should for quite awhile now. If I need anything else, I will not hesitate to go back to Newtons!

Greg at Newton’s helped me out with a coolant and power steering leak on my car in addition to a general check up. My car is an old beater, and he diagnosed what was wrong, checked over everything else, and explained to me what I needed to do to keep the car alive, what I should do but don’t have to right this moment, and a few things that will likely need work in the near future but I don’t need to move on now. As someone who is mostly car illiterate, he helped me understand and feel like i made an informed decision.Short version is that price was fair and service was excellent. I will be back

We drove an hour and half to purchase a used car. Googled places who could complete a pre purchase car inspection. Chose this place based on reviews.We didn’t use the place because we chose not to get the car but both conversations when I called were pleasant, informative and reassuring.I hate they are so far away because I would use them as our normal mechanics and based on the small interaction I had with them, have no doubt we would always be satisfied.

Be sure to check your windshield wipers before taking it here for an inspection. Yep.. one of those places. The big cost I was paying them for the other repairs wasn’t enough. I would also recommend asking for a detailed report of the cost breakdown. They don’t like to provide that and I definitely should have looked at that and shopped around. I also ended up with a problem with my car that I did not have when I took it in. It may be unrelated, but pretty coincidental and they did nothing for me except look at it for free and provide another extravagant estimate. Did it myself in 2 hours and paid less than 1/3 of what they were charging. Live and learn. They are great guys to talk to but I won’t trust them with my cars in the future.

I was very pleased with my experience at Newtons Car Care. After Gregg checked out my truck he sent me a detail explanation of what needed to be repaired. He quoted me the cost for the repairs. It took them a little over a week to get it back to me. Which was understandable because how much work was needed. I have by truck back now and so far so good.

This is the only garage I trust my cars with. As a hobbyist mechanic I do most maintenance and upgrades to my cars myself, but, when I need someone to do something I don’t have the time or equipment to do myself this is where I go. I took my 2015 Kia Sorento LX to Newtons for an oil/filter change and a suspected transmission issue. I dropped it off to be left over the weekend for servicing after midday on a Thursday. Within a half hour after I returned home, I received a full diagnostic report via text. They had other cars ahead of mine, but promised to get to my vehicle soon as they could on Friday. Late Friday, I was contacted by the shop and informed that my vehicle needed to be re-diagnosed because my vehicle wasnt showing any transmission issues. They were very careful with my vehicle, but also very thorough. After some very careful assessment, they determined it was an electrical issue due to an aftermarket radio installation, not the transmission itself. The head unit was improperly wired and was thieving juice away from the transmission control module, causing the transmission to misfire, get stuck--or simply not engage--in gear (didnt know that could happen). Newtons Car Care not only saved me a lot of money on what would have been a possible transmission expense by tracking down the problem. This is my new vehicle car shop. From the moment I walked in, they staff treated me like a family member. This is a well-run facility with a helpful staff willing to address ANY concern a customer presents to them. Its not about money; not saying it isnt important. This is, after all, a business. But Newtons didnt charge me an inflated amount for the work they did. In fact, the price I paid was actually almost $100 LESS than what I was initially quoted. I WILL be going back for my next repair, fluid check/change, or for whatever vehicle concern I might have. This place is better than the dealership I often took my vehicle to (I wont even get into that), and they treated me better. I highly recommend Newtons Car Care to ANYONE seeking quality service at a reasonable price. You dont always get what you pay for: at Newtons you get more bang for your buck. Been going here for years I came back after a 2 year hiatus and they called me by name. They are focused on keeping their well deserved good reputation by doing good work. I go here for every car repair, and regular maintenance I can this has so far gotten me 130,000 miles without a breakdown or high dollar repair.

Art provided me with great customer service, always called to keep me informed of what was happening, and told me how different things would affect the cost.
