In August of 2020 I put a freeze on my account due to Covid. A freeze every other place has been until I contact you or you contact me again. Working in health care as an essential worker, I thought cool one less thing to worry about. 9 months later, come to find out I was being charged with NO emails or phone calls hey we are taking your money again. I contacted the local club and was told they cant do anything about it. But more accurately they WONT do anything about it. He didnt even ask for member # or anything. Just a blanket CANT.I emailed pf corporate and got an automated email…no one even read it I bet... same thing..wont do anything.It seems they want to take my $35 (from me and my daughter) with no compunction and no customer service to fix it.

Planet Fitness is an amazing gym. Its clean, organized, spacious and professional. I really enjoy going. The staff and the other clients are great. Best gym Ive been to.

Totally judge free. My 1st time ever joining a gym and I really felt relaxed and comfortable working out. No one was looking at me. They was more concerned about their own workout. The employees was really polite, made sure all my questions were answered. I would recommend it.

Compared to other planet fitness locations this one is pretty clean and not very crowded. They have 5 tanning booths and a massage thing (I cant remember what its called). One of the best deals for a gym price wise thats for sure I just wish they would open more machines (covid restrictions) since you get allot of people at planet fitness who dont do anything but sit on a machine and play on there phone. Not there fault you just get allot of idiots there since its $10 a month. But locker rooms we clean and no naked old men just standing around like the YMCA so thats a big plus.

Never been inside. But its in a nice area, and my girlfriend likes to tan there. Plus the Pokemon on the parking lot are fun to catch.

The young woman and gentleman who I dealt with at the front desk were both very welcoming and helpful. They answered all the questions I had with a smile...I look forward to going there, and honestly, I cant wait to go back.....

My favorite place to workout, they live by their motto and will handle any issues if they present themselves. I feel very comfortable both in the environment and around the staff as well. The gym is very well cleaned and most of the members do their part to keep it clean as well as the staff working very hard to do so as well.

Pros: Wide variety of equipment; Squeaky cleanCons: No ADA compliant shower; Only one dressing room, and its on the opposite side of the locker room from the shower; Front desk cant/wont look up membership info without key tag or app.

I love going here. The associates are so friendly and helpful and the diversity of different machines is great for whatever I feel like working with on any different visit.I dont feel pressured to keep up with others or crowded by others, even before they shutdown half of the machines to keep the distance.

Does anyone really like to work out? I didnt until I joined PF. My style of dress motivates me to get in the gym. When I feel good about myself, when I have my music that motivates me to move my body, getting through my routine is a breeze. Im so motivated that I have worked my way up to five days a week. Your transformation wont happen overnight. Perseverance and stamina will get you there.

Being forced to wear mask even while working out....dont see you can get a decent workout being suffocated by a mask

One of the Best and friendliest Gym I have ever been to! I come at night right after work and Alex is always friendly and helpful! He’s always cleaning and making sure the gym looks spotless and Props to him because its super clean! Would 100% recommend for anyone because the environment is awesome!

In the middle of a global pandemic and they are still taken membership dues out of people accounts!! I understand i signed a contract but no one could foresee something like this happening!! Im very disappointed Planet Fitness!! The lack of empathy is mind boggling.

Came here to cancel my membership and while we waited to be seen a representative told a customer to fill out paperwork for a new member and when it became our turn she couldn’t find my information even with my membership ID, once help came to assist the new representative who began to help us decided to multitask in assisting us and playing a golf game on his phone. He sent us to a terminal and halfway through he told us that we needed to contact our org I so location to have them transfer me to Hickory. Don’t waste your time here go somewhere else we’re you’ll be treated right no matter the reasoning for you coming.

Wonderful! Lots of great workout equipment although some of it is a bit hard to use when youre super small in stature. ^^;

Good GYM. Not far away from home. But the instructor some how, thinks he can just tell you to move to other equipment.Its not fair at all.He should wait. Like if you like one set or just started. It doesnt matter. No one should have this right. At all.

I have been going to Planet Fitness since day 1 and prior to that when Golds Gym was in this location, The Planet Fitness staff and the other members are like family to me. Join them. You wont regret it!

Ive been of those people that has a membership, but seldom ever goes. However, I recently have gone nearly every day. I have used the message chairs recently too for the first time.....so so lovely

Clean, everyone is masked up. If someone isnt masked up the staff is quick to correct them.

Was good in the beginning but was uninterested in allowing me to take over the membership even though it was in my fiances name. Wanted him to pay a cancellation fee and a new member fee so we decided to cancel in another city so they wouldnt make extra money off customers who had regularly gone to the gym, paid the membership, and bought drinks and merchandise often. Wasnt company policy--corporate was fine with the switch if the manager agreed. Would have stayed on for years. Your loss.

Lots of machines for every muscle group. Plenty of stationary bikes and treadmills. Free weights too. Always clear and well maintained.

Please work on the Hydro-beds down time. I do not mind paying the extra fee. But, i only get to use the Hydro about 60% of the time due to out of order... Thank you as the staff is great to work with & very friendly.

If and when planet fitness decides to dispose of their antiquated payment processing system, I will reconsider joining again. Until then, please be aware that their payment processing is a scam at best. Believe the horror stories available on the internet about planet fitness debiting accounts without authorization. Believe the horror stories about their convoluted payment processing. Do your due diligence. If planet fitness demands that you pay any remaining balance before you cancel your membership, demand the opposite. The customer is always right. You will get the outcome you desire if you apply enough pressure.I will be filing my complaints with the BBB next and any other agencies that provide oversight on businesses that fraudulently process payments.All that being said, its unfortunate because Bryan has been extremely helpful and seems to have good intentions when dealing with customers.

2020- I am so glad that Hickory PF smells like bleach!! The Covid virus 🦠 is causing me to exercise outside but if I do exercise indoors, I am confident that Ms Mary is doing all she can to keep the gym clean. Also kudos to Camden who says he is happy that I am maintaining a routine regardless of location.2019- Friendly staff and explained every detail very well. Lots of treadmills, so there is never a wait.

Aside from a few facilities (sinks, water fountains, hydrobeds) always seeming to be out of order the Hickory PF is great. The staff has to be the best part though. Always kind and always helpful

Cleanest gym you’ll ever go to and that’s what matters to me. The place isn’t full of Affliction shirt wearing douche bags either and that’s always a plus. The staff is super friendly. Best deal in town.

I was a happy member 10+ years; always paid a year in advance by credit card. They now insist on drafting my checking account. I wont allow that. I offered to pay with cash; they refused. Then, I learn a friend had the same objection but the manager later allowed him pay by credit card. I am no longer a member.

I’m a real big fan I love the place that made me feel like I’m at home. I’ve been to about 20 of them around the southeastern United States and they all were great. Plus for 20 bucks a month can’t beat it with a stick

Planet Fitness is not only a “feel good” experience, their quality of service is exceptional. The facility is clean and the staff is attentive and friendly. The true nature of Planet Fitness comes through in the technology of the machines. Not only can I feel safe using the machines, but I can feel and see the difference in my body. Answer all of my concerns

Long time member regular user. Have had a scale in the gym to monitor weight most of the time for the last few years. It has recently been removed because of a reported memo from headquarters(?). I dont understand why a real tool to monitor my fitness which, by the way is the only method pf offers, is removed. So great all kinds of programs, equipment, etc is offered but no method to see how its working? Do t understand and dont agree. Great place, clean, great employees nice equipment but this move is a head scratcher.

No hassle, positive environment. Staff excellent. Never a problem to find an open elliptical or treadmill. Plenty of weight equipment. Good hours, and cannot beat $10 a month! Highly highly recommend.

Great gym and tons of options when I travel. I have already been removed from 1 bp med in the short time I’ve been going. As humans we are designed to walk, hunt & gather. (Nomadic). With the career path I have chosen, I’m not able to do much of these things. Planet fitness will literally help save your life if you’ll do the right things.

Love the black card experience! I have been a member for some time and I enjoy being able to experience the different gyms in different states, I also love the people and the amenities included..

This place is so clean. After my workout, I enjoy getting the hydro massage. It soothes my body as if I was being rubbed down by an actual person. My new year resolution is to tone my body back from years of neglect. Planet fitness has everything that I need to rehab from a total hip replacement. Lately the hydro beds have been shut down for problems. One week its up and the very next week its down for weeks at a time. The hydro chairs dont do as well as the beds.

Currnetly Planet Fitness is too crowded for a serious workout. New Year crowd has arrived. If you are really hard core fitness, then Planet Fitness is probably not for you. They have plenty of cardio equipment but their free weights and strength training equipment is seriuosly lacking. Of course for $10 per what can you expect? At 65 I can get about all I need working out there but sometimes it take much too long because of having to wait on weigh training equipment. lately I have noticed a lot of equipment in need of repair and the whole place seems dirty as compared to several months ago. However, I still recommend people join and come for their own sake and fitness, and budget.

I used to come here every day, and had no problem with it. I then canceled my membership IN PERSON, and was told I was good by a staff member... a few weeks later, I noticed they had charged my account, so I call and explain my issue and I get no help. No offer of a refund or anything to fix this issue since I WAS a loyal customer. I demanded a refunded and they said I guess, if you want. Well duh?! They told me it would take 5-7 days, here I am 17 days later with NO REFUND and NO COMMUNICATION. I will be contacting corporate and never returning again. Be careful when canceling your membership here, they think they are sneaky. Worst customer service EVER.

Look this place is not as bad as the Planet Fitness as a whole seems to get but I wouldnt plan on staying here if you are trying to get serious working out. It has enough equipment to get in-shape with but no free weights besides 3 Smith Racks.Often there are times when the place is over crowded and you cant do your workout without having to wait around. If you can however get in on off-hours like early in the morning, then its often pretty quiet.Also they seem to be a lax Planet Fitness compared to others. Went there for over a year and never heard the Link Alarm once.

A good variety of equipment to use, and a very friendly staff. Nice place to workout and everyone minds their own business. The hydro beds are pretty awesome too.

I was looking forward to working out here, but I was told I could not get a refund when I cancelled a two DAY old membership due to some things happening! The email I got even said I would get a refund if cancelled in time, but apparently not!!
