The food is great here, very good service. This place has two banquet hall located in the . In front theirs a small restaurant with a dining area located outside. The only thing I didnt like about this place it only has one door to enter and exit the restaurant. When we were leaving their was three people smoking, and the cigar smell was extremely powerful. Like I said the restaurant is very small but the quality of the food is amazing.

Great restaurant, enjoy going there with the family even if it is 30 to 45 minutes away, quality food. The sirloin steak was so tender, i just pulled it apart with a fork. Not a fast food place but worth waiting for quality food.

Outstanding food! Get the beef goulash with potato pancakes, pierogies, and potato bread - all with side salad and soup. Everything will be delicious. And the decor is fantastic!

Good authentic polish food. It captures and does justice to the Highlander cuisine. I recommend the pork cutlet entree. The soups are good too, recommend the flaczki soup, it is exotic, though delicious with rye. Will return for more.

Surprisingly good. Ive been to many eastern European regstaurants that offer the same old same old but this one is one I will come back too. Yes it did have the staples like schnitzel and cabbage but then they brought out a ptacky that melted in your mouth. The gravy was so good that out grandson that is the most finicky eater in the world drenched everything in it and ate it all. To top it off there was a highlander folk band that plays on Saturday that had the whole place clapping and enjoying the atmosphere.The only negative is that it was a rainy night and the smokers were hanging out right outside where everytime the door would open you would get a strong whiff of the tobacco smoke. Other than. That it was nicely decorated with cool wood carvings and beam work throughout. Staff was pleasant and were constantly checking on us.We will come again!!

We were here for a wedding and it was delicious. Splendid charcuterie and appetizer spread before and after dinner, nice dinner, more deliciousness later in the evening. Beautiful hall, quaintly decorated.

We had my brother’s funeral luncheon here and it was very nice, considering the circumstances. We had a private room with delicious food and attentive service. I highly recommend this place.

I dined here last Friday afternoon with my husband who is Polish. It wasnt busy at all, just one other table of three diners. We ordered a couple beers while we looked over the menu. Even the beers werent that cold.We both ordered a bowl of the Zurek, but it was served in a bowl that more resembled a cup size which was the other option. It was supposed to have fresh polish sausage in it. I got one small piece of sausage and lots of mushrooms.For my main, I got the baked salmon in creamy lemon sauce with potato dumplings and vegetables. It was the worst salmon Ive ever had in my life. It was basically rubber, so overcooked that it was hard and chewy. The vegetables looked like they just came from a frozen bag and were tasteless. The dumplings were also nothing to rave about, Ive had much better. My husband got the Bacas plate pork shank with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes The pork was just okay, but the sauerkraut mashed potatoes were cold and tasted re heated.There was also disco polo music playing the whole time which got kind of annoying. I will also share we changed to a mostly vegetarian diet recently so it was our one day we decided to eat some meat after over a month so it was even more disappointing for us.

I absolutely loved this banquet! I went today and the staff was amazing! They provided food on time and welcomed guests with kindness. Even when guests where being needy and asking for stuff such as bread and water, they did not display they were bothered or annoyed. Much respect for them

We recently had our wedding at Janosik Banquets and I have to say that it was fantastic. We could not be any happier. From the planning of the wedding to the day of, Teresa the owner is phenomenal to work with.She give a plany of time for my florets to decorate the room, and DJ to set up. She give us a lot of good advices she make sure that every little detail was captured..The food, sweet table and appetizer table was excellent.. the staff was excellent.. the service was excellent. I cannot say enough about what a pleasurable experience we had working with Teresa. We revive a lot o complements from our guest they loved this place. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment. I attended a party that was hosted at Janosik and was very pleased with their menu. Ive also visited for a bite to eat on a Saturday early afternoon and watched a soccer game at their bar. The staff was very helpful. I will always visit Janosik when Im in the area.

A true landmark. Woodsy decor with antler chandeliers. The staff is super friendly. The food is Polish cuisine at its finest. Perfectly cooked meats, homemade soups, fresh salads and Polish favorites. Halls have stages and big dance floors. Charming!

Dont let them book your dinner or lunch. They totally forgot about my reservation for Sunday for 15 people and when I got there for lunch it was one big stressful situation for us and for the owner. The food is also not authentic Polish ( I expected to try something real and different) - its american-polish which means steamed soggy vegetables... I would not recommend this place.

Very good food. I gave this place 4 stars before but after last experience Im changing it to 1. Each time we were in the area we were stopping by for lunch or dinner. I was recommending this place to many of my friends and last time we bought voucher for $100 for my friends. There was no information on it about expiration at all when my friends went there they said they are not accepting this vouchers anymore. Kind of stilling. Make sure not to by there any gift cards or vouchers.

This is a good place for a well cooked Polish food. Our favorite is their dumplings 😍. The place is designed like you are in a log house in Poland .... beautiful! and its very clean .

Ive come here for banquets many times and its always a good time. Only recently we went to the bar side with a group of friends and the experience was unique. It felt like we were in someones home. Drinks were stiff and snacks were good. Majority of the patrons were Polish and at time sang songs in their native tongue. Great overall experience!

Awesome place. Took my wife there for some Polish food. Boy was it good. Portions are huge. Goulash with dumplings was best ever. Meat was soft with great flavor. Drinks are small. Will be back every week.

The best restaurant in Hickory Hills, in my humble opinion - by the restaurant I mean places that dont serve deep fried food on cardboard with plastic utensils. Truly miss this place. Lived around the corner and used to stop there often for drinks and food - most of the time for both. Pan fried trout or a Hungarian potato pancake are the hit, but cant really go wrong with any item on the menu.

Should you be in the Chicago area for any reason, and have a taste for authentic Polish cuisine, you owe it to yourself to visit the nice folks at Janosik. There might even be a wedding or a wedding reception going on and you can enjoy the muzyka for free ;)

When I walked into the reception hall, I was totally stunned as to how beautiful the hall looked! Every detail that I asked for was in place and the room glowed.The food was beyond wonderful and the servers were polite, I receive a lot of complements from my guests. Teresa the owner wonderful person help us a lot and give us a good advices highly recommended this Banquet hall for every one. The decor is unique. We really loved the place. Never once was a server had a smile! The pop on table for 8 people was NOT in a carafe with ice, rather in a bottle smaller than 1L. Chicken still pink, dry, I was struggling to swallow. Potatoes were not totally mixed and I could tell they were boxed. Beef was rubbery and dry ..... not very good.

This place literally saddened me.1 White borshch=zurek was so salty, it was not edible. Came out after reasonable time, which was expected, as the place wasnt busy. It was just lukewarm and there is no excuse for it not to be hot.2. Tenderloins were offensive to the tender part in the name.3. Mushroom sauce was not housemade. Nowhere near standards expected of a restaurant.4. French fries were the highlight of the meal, lol.5. Charge $2 for sparkling water.6. Bathrooms ok clean, could use an update.7. The bar is very high and the waitress not so much, it takes forever for her to notice whats going on in the place. Not the best service.The restaurant itself is small. The building is large , with banquet hall and has decent parking. Maybe better for parties?

Was there for a birthday party last weekend.They didnt have the PA system hooked up and didnt even turn on the fountain in the corner Eric with the stuffed coyote.The food was bland and they didnt even serve pierogies!

On a recent trip to Illinois we stopped to check this place out (since Szalas has been closed for business) Pierogi were dry, chicken soup was lukewarm, tripe soup was good. No lard spread ( I know it doesnt sound appetizing but that is a dish every restaurant of this theme simply must have) All in all, we went, we tried, and we arent planning on going back. its not bad... but they could... should.. do a lot better
