The folks at Mug & Brush were great! I went there on my wedding day with an idea of what kind of haircut I wanted and they did exactly what I was hoping for. They were incredibly kind and professional. I strongly recommend going to Mug & Brush for all your barbershop needs!

This place is great for both kids abs adults. They take appointments and do a really nice fade. Both my son and husband go here and love it and I’m always impressed with the cuts.

Great place for a hair cut. Price is still reasonable. Good conversations and a nice place to take kids to get hair cuts. I see a lot of father’s bringing in their sons. Dutch (barber and owner) seems to be a great conversationalist and the rest of the folks are inviting and cut hair pretty well. The location is convenient if you happen to be on Chagrin and the parking in the plaza or along the street makes getting to the place pretty straight forward.You can tell this pace has real history and tradition. The decor is vintage in the honest way that it’s been there for decades. Those barber chairs must be over 50 years old.

First time Kids cut 12-4-20I brought my 2 year old son for his first cut at a barber shop, since he’s about to turn 3 next week I wanted him to have a nice fresh look. We had a great time with Matt, he was so kind and worked so well with my son, Hunter. I had my little girl (1.5years old) along and the rest of the staff were kind and engaging to us and made us all feel comfortable. Will return and recommend to other moms.

Our of towner just riding through. The shop name alone hooked me. I walked in with no appt. They were booked but fit me in really quickly. If it wasnt a couple hours away Id definitely be back. Great atmosphere and cut.

Came here with my boyfriend. Watched customer after customer leave with the barbers doing nothing to sanitize. 2 of the barbers werent wearing face coverings. They have no signage or advertisements stating face masks are required, which is a state mandate and still encouraged by the CDC. They are not taking proper care to ensure the safety and well being of themselves or their customers. If it werent for being charged still for late cancellation we would have just left.In response.I sat there long enough to determine I was not comfortable staying in there for the duration of his hair cut. I also witnessed 4 young men leaving the seat without any of the barbers cleaning it for the next. Regardless of the time I was there, it was long enough. And you shouldnt be asking your customers if they want you wearing a face covering. It is mandatory. My boyfriend would have left if he werent under the impression that he still would have been charged for canceling. His hair cut always wasnt that great. We were simply checking this place out on referral and will not be back.

All the barbers there are friendly and make you feel at home.I can’t imagine getting a better haircut at a nicer place anywhere in the greater Hendersonville area. I highly recommend giving them a try. You won’t be disappointed !

I was looking for a new barber in town so I thought I would try the Mug & Brush since they were well reviewed. The most glaring issue I had was being cut 5 times by the straight razor. I have had dozens of straight razor cuts. I have a cut on my ear, 2 on my face, and 2 on my neck (that I can find because of the scabs). What kind of barber uses a straight razor with no care if they cut their customer??? Also my barber spent more time talking to the guy in the chair next to me than paying attention to me. He was also listening to music through earbuds so its probably why he cut my hair differently than I asked (all I asked was for my cowlick area to be left long enough to lay flat; he cut it super short). I was also charged more than the posted price for my cut (only a dollar more, but it added to the bad experience). If you go here, avoid Gregg!

Top notch barbershop.I’ve been a customer for years, Great experience every time. I previously had an old Italian barber in New York, so It was nice to find such a great barber shop here in NC. Super friendly staff, I won’t go going anywhere else. Highly recommend for kids as well. My son is 9 and has been getting his haircut there for years also.Best around no question.

This place used to be great. A 15 dollar buzzcut and Id throw them an even 20 for the service. Now however, they charge 20 bucks for all cuts and are only running through appointments only. When you lose the barber shop pricing and the barber shop walk-ins, youve completely lost sight of what makes a great barber shop. You might as well become a hair salon. Its a shame, because this used to be a wonderful place.

Ive been looking for a barbershop ever since I moved up here about a year ago. I was going to generic cuts and had a hard time finding someone to cut my African American hair. I finally tried this place after everything was able to reopen, and I wont go anywhere else.This place is the spot to go. They did a great job!

Nice to find a friendly barbershop where you can get a good cut in town. All four of the gentlemen working were friendly and welcoming. Due to social distancing, they are on an appointment system only so call ahead, but they fit me in within 30 minutes of calling.

I tried the Mug & Brush for the first time today, and Im glad I did. Great old time barbershop atmosphere. Young and old, they were all here.My barber was Greg. He did a fantastic job.Even cleaned up the edges with a bit of shaving cream and a straight razor like the old days. For $17 you get a great haircut with all the detail. Its not a rush job like you find at Great Clips, and other big name haircut places.They also know their customers by name. They had a lot of regulars coming in.Great experience. I will be back for sure. Goodbye Great Clips!

This place is great. My husband got a great cut and beard trim.Even better, Greg did an amazing job with my 18-month-old. Hes the first barber to get my son to allow him to use the buzzers.We will be using Mug & Brush for haircuts for a long time!!!

The guys there are very fun and friendly. The prices are decent, and the cuts are good. If you want to find out whats going on in town, this is your place. Or if you just want a cut, this is your place as well. Some of the barbers there are cash only though, so just be aware.

Ive had the same hair stylist for years and love her. However, due to several rescheduling conflicts I had to find somewhere new this week. Tried mug and Ill never go anywhere else. Matt cut my hair Tuesday and did an exceptional job. The whole experience was awesome

I have been to many barbershops in Hendersonville/Asheville area. And by far this is the best place everyone is professional and friendly. I highly recommend Derek, he is the one I have mainly felt with but everyone is great! The price is great and they are in a great location!

We took our 6 year-old autistic son in today for a haircut, and they were excellent. He sat on my lap while my wife and Derrick (the barber in the chair closest to the door) maneuvered around him with our child screaming and flailing around.His hair looks amazing, and having it short will make our lives a lot easier! This review is long overdue because this is unanimously the best barber shop in the area. I can genuinely say I have never had a bad haircut at this place and I am confident that I can sit at any booth here and get the same high quality haircut that I ask for. Dont get me wrong they are good but I have been using them for about six years we I started using them they were $11.00 the they jumped to $15.00 about 2 years ago and last year they jumped to $17.00 and now they Have jumped to $20.00 sorry to steep for me I cut my own hair I cant afford them any more Good bye guys.

I probably been coming here for about 2 years and I come here consistently because they do a consistently good job after tip its about 20 bucks a haircut and I really cant argue with the quality of haircut I get Ive had a few of the guys there and everyone does a really good job I feel that everyone else that Ive seen but havent had cut my hair yet when I see them cut other peoples hair they do a really good job they are moving though so they were right there on the corner of Canoga across from the Kawasaki place and they are now currently moving to up the street near the four-way intersection

Came in from out of town for a training in the area and I needed a hair cut desperately. After doing my research I landed at the Mug & Brush and received one sharp looking cut from Marvin. Very friendly and enjoyable experience. I’ll be back next year and when I know where my first stop will be!

Happened upon this place almost by accident. I drive by it nearly daily to get to work but I just happened to be in search of someone to cut my childrens hair and the last time I brought one to a barbershop it was a huge mistake. Since then, over time, I would typically just have someone I know buzz all their hair off without any kind of style. Per my kids request for something else, I decided to give another barbershop a chance. I walked in and was so glad to see all men barbers (no offense ladies this isnt about some equality thing, this is a me not caring about feelings and wanting what I want for them thing)... Anyways, two sons aged 4 and 8 with their own different styles. We came in 2 different days this week and each had a different barber. I dont know their names because I am very bad at remembering people and names (SORRY). However, this place was FANTASTIC. They did such a good job with my boys. My 4 year old cannot sit still for the life of him, yet his barber with a name I dont know, still managed to cut his hair perfectly fine. The 8 year old bore a total look of fear and anger the whole time, but in the end was very happy with his results as well. Point is everyone, this place is really good at what they do. Theyre good with working with kids (mine at least) and they look so good (my small humans, to be specific). Btw, the barber today had a shirt that said Ill cut you (I commented on liking his shirt due to its cleverness considering) and later he had an accidental nic/pinch occurance. No problems on our end, because technically he was wearing a warning label. We will continue coming to this location, seeing that we dont die first. Thank you!
