After working a 12 hr I shift I popped in the night before Valentine’s Day about 5 minutes before closing to grab a few things to make my daughter a gift bag for the holiday. After finding they carried the new flavor of Mountain Dew I’ve been searching everywhere for I was excited! The convenience and availability the story l store provided for me was soon all washed away when the female employee forced my boyfriend and I to cash out and leave right at 9pm! I couldn’t even get everything needed for my daughters gift bag.

This particular Dollar General is well-organized and clean. The staff is friendly and willing to help if you have a problem finding something. I would recommend this Dollar General to family and friends. Great job to everyone working at this Dollar General your service is appreciated.

This the cleanest most organized Dollar General Ive ever shipped at. I would rather drive here instead I going to the one 2 miles from where I live.The associates are friendly as well.

Ive always liked Dollar General. Last night they were stocking up every shelf. And at 6 p.m. there was hardly a person there if youre concerned about things like that.

Always needs to be stocked, not enough employees. Carts of stock in aisles for days waiting to be put up and empty shelves. Nobody seems to care.

Didnt find the item in the store that was shown on the website as in stock. However, a smaller size was available.

It easy place for me to thought about that place when I need something for the house

I went to do some last minute shopping on Christmas eve & was having a very chaotic day.Not only was the store clean, it was actually pretty well stocked considering the holidays. I inadvertently left my wallet at the counter. Being that it was Christmas, I wasnt even aware Id misplaced it until last night after they closed. I drove up there 1st thing this morning & they had found it & were keeping it in the safe for me.Such a wonderful & caring crew they have there. I am beyond grateful to them!

The girl that works there is an absolute delight. She is super friendly, patient, and says hello to everyone as they come in the door. Plus, she remembers me from the previous visit. As soon as I find out her name I will edit this post and add it.

Very rude staff! This my only my second time shopping at a dollar general after finding out how good of deals you can get and there digital coupons. I wasn’t even in the store for 5 minutes before a staff member named ADAM came and told me we are not allowed to shop from the top shelf.I am a tall woman and picked up some shoes I thought were cute and didn’t even pay attention to the sign. And that sign doesn’t say we can’t shop off the top shelf it says it’s mostly for stock and ask for help. I can hear him talking under his breath about shoppers looking in the clearance area.Than he has the nerve to ask me If he can help me find what I’m looking for very rudely when I was just trying to browse at the clothes and shoes.I will never come back to this location and I did call corporate. Customer service is very important for a business to thrive! Terrible experience!Get some better staff!

Store all unorganized very few items on the shelves..alot of out dated items....but staff is friendly but not to helpful.

Store is ALWAYS a mess, products are past expiration date, staff is extremely rude and does not act in a professional manner at all. This place is a disgrace to the entire company. I only visit this location on very rate occasions. It has been this way for a very long time. Unfortunately it is close to home, quicker than Kroger and most of the time cheaper than CVS.

This was my first time in this store. If you have been in 1 youve been in all of em. Nothing to brag about. The Cashier was very friendly and pleasant to talk to.

I love this store because, the employees are courteous and helpful always. Prices are good and surprisingly foods are fresh ..never outdated. And the store is clean.

Workers arent as welcoming as most dollar generals. They greet you & thats as far as it goes. No smiles. Looks like they dont want to even work there so they be looking miserable & act it too! Except for the big guy that is there! Products/items are constantly unorganized or never stocked.

This is your typical Dollar General. Its a bit on the small side, but has the basic essentials and name brands. Youll have a bit of a struggle with carts because there is no ramp at the entry and you will have to navigate over the curb. If you know your prices, you can get some good deals and there is plenty of selection. Staff is usually very pleasant

Had to get a Birthday card. We have been coming in for awhile. Like it.

Aisles are way to tiny. Everything is clustered together. Employees were great and efficient though.

This location on 9 mile and John R. In Hazel Park is an absolute mess! There are always carts full of stock everywhere you walk. Cant even get to anything. I went there Monday Feb. 17th and they were out of a lot of products I was looking for. Carts full of stock in the Isles and all over the back room. The worst dollar General Ive ever been in!

This store has such bad customer service its disgusting. Its even worse than the Family Dollar it took over, and I didnt think that would be possible.I simply cannot believe the level of disrespect I witnessed today. I visited the store for some superglue. I asked the associate if I could find some near the registers so that I could just get in line. To this, I didnt even get the respect of a response; just nothing but a blank stare and then the associate proceeded to walk off down some isle.I found the item and checked out. When the associate came back to her register I had pointed out that I found it, no thanks to her help, to which she just stared off again and elicited absolutely no response. How rude. To be honest, it appeared as though she was stoned.As others have acknowledged before, I believe this is (entirely) a race thing. It has everything to do with the demographics of this area, even though Hazel Park has made valiant efforts to improve the quality of the city. I dont mind shopping in this area, for small things, but not when I get treated like this.I will not be coming in to this location any longer. Much better customer service can be had right down the road.

Its convenient to drop in on my lunch for a couple of items, but this store always looks like a tornado just ripped through it.

I never have a problem at this location. One suggestion I would make for them, would be to keep their selves stocked with all size diapers for all brands.

Stopped at Hazel Park Dollar General Store this afternoon. It was very clean and the shelves were fully stocked and neatly arranged. New Manager was at the cash register asking how my experience was. Great job!

Messy not organized and has a funny smell. The prices are ok but not as good as you would think.

Apparently, a man can not carry a small bag, like a womens purse if you will... Because I was told to leave my bag with him behind counter, I said no, would u ask a women for her purse?? He said No.. I have to carry medications, and other things also with me... Im a Very regular shopper at the 9 & John r location, but No More! Extremely rude about this situation, and needs better training!!

Store was a complete mess, cashier was on the phone throughout the whole transaction . Definitely wont go back there. Cashier seemed upset we interrupted her phone call. Management needs to step up.

Huge dollar general! They have a ton of stuff. Store is clean and staff was decent. Id say the selection alone makes stopping in this store worth while.

Good store & close to home! But twenty something age employees always tell me & other customers how tired they are & how they would rather be anywhere else. Such a shame! Thats the only bad part about this store.

The always have my ICE sparkling water. Im diabetic and I hate having to drive all over looking for it. They also have an autistic clerk which is a HUGE plus for me because my son is autistic and it gives me hope that the world isnt completely mad.

Good variety, good prices. I like this location because its convenient for me, and they stock some of my favorite junk food (Baked Cheddar Ruffles, pineapple Fanta, Mello Yello).

Staff waa very helpful and friendly. Especially during the Christmas craziness.

Love the store but Hazel Park location is often out of stock on a lot of items. Even though we are regulars and have asked to order a specific item they havent yet 2 months later, youd think theyd treat regulars more respectfully.

The people that work there act like you are interrupting their personal time. One cashier had to finish texting someone before helping me. Ill drive to the Dollar General on Dequindre, the people there are friendly.

I like Dollar General stores for alot of reason...they carry household needs...food....cleaning products...juice...red bull ect

Was literally followed around so felt rushed shopping then was accused of stealing in front of a large line of people, which I didnt. But it was so embarrassing! Will never go again! They have all those cameras someone should be watching them before they just accuse somebody

Im surprised that there is a lot of good reviews on here because honestly, the last 4 times ive been to this location there has only been one person working. or if there are other emloyees in the store, they dont come to the registers and help out if there is a line. Ive stood in line for at least 10-15 mins every time ive come here. a lot of things are out of stock, and there is always carts full of things blocking aisles, or all the carts are out in the parking lot. the kicker for me though was when i was waiting in line and watched another employee clock out early and leave the one girl with a line full of people. i will be finding another dollar general to go to
