I would definitely recommend this company... from start to finish with building a home was the best experience. They worked with us and went over the top to help us get everything we wanted in our new home. From sales to walk through to settlement I couldn’t thank everyone enough! They respond in a fast manor and explain each step very detailed along the way. I would do business with them again if we were in the market to buy another home.

I was originally renting from Burkentine and saw that they were building new homes. I received an email which listed incentives for current tenants if they were to purchase a home. I immediately inquired and was provided with all the information I needed to move forward. Quinn was extremely helpful and supportive. Whatever question I had he had the answer and if he didn’t have the answer he would always point me in the right direction. One of those directions was to TJ who also helped me out whenever needed. Wealth of knowledge and always reassuring. I can get a little antsy at times so his patience and understanding was appreciated. When everything was coming close to settlement, I had my final walk through with Ky and the professionalism was top notch. Ky filled me in on everything that was going on with the home and even saw some things that I missed that needed correcting before settlement. This was a big step for me but Quinn, TJ (Andrew and Andrea) and Ky really made the process bearable. I’m excited about my new home and I’m so grateful for the smoothness of the process! When we started on our journey in august 2020 I did not know where to go. I met Quinn he was amazing and helped guide us in helping build our dream home! It was all amazing and smooth. He got us in touch with their lender Kevin and he was just as amazing. They gave us a estimated finish date and it ended up finishing early we were very excited. Our final walkthrough went amazing. Mike and Logan were amazing even when we moved in they came over to chat and make sure we had no issues. They both were amazing. Mikes team was amazing from Scott to Brian to each and every person. They all were very professional and answered every question we had. We will forever be happy with our new home. Like all new homes it isn’t going to be perfect in the first year and needs to settle. So we love that they do a year follow up! So great. Do yourself a favor and come get these guys! Great great great!

If you’re not building in PA or where they want to build, don’t bother. No communication for 4+ weeks after planning out the house followed by a site work + house cost well over any other local builder and much higher than the original quotes provided without explanation. When you do get a response weeks later, everything is a “miscommunication.” Just another number. 👍

I have been in my Burkentine Home for two years now and wanted to give a review/update. I want to approach this is as objective as possible. To start, Bryce was able to sell the house I was living in at the time. Mike and Stacy worked hard with me to find a plot of land for the build. Mike was great in negotiated the terms once we found land. The framers, drywallers, and painters did a good job with no major issues of squeaking, cracking, or nail pops.*Update-Burkentine agreed to waterproof all of my foundation that was missed originally. It was very well re-done and looks incredible now.One issue during the build was that somehow the wrong front door was ordered. The door was too big for the front entry, so about 22 square feet of my master bedroom was taken to make the front entry wider. Luckily, I caught this when I took a visit to the property during framing and measured my bedroom. When I inquired about the front door and to have the correct one put in, I was told that I would have to pay a restocking fee to send the first door back. In hindsight I should have fought the issue but instead I compromised and had the framer bump my room back to the original size except for the corner where the front door opens into.I had the basement plumbing roughed in and added the walk out option because of my intentions to finish it later on. The problem I am going to have is that the clearance I need for the wall which will separate the utility room from the rest of the basement is lined up right in the middle of where they added one of the windows. This future issue could have been avoided had there been more attention to detail.The electrician and hvac installer could have had better communication because one of the light switches had to be placed farther into the bedroom then normal because the air return was put right next to the doorway.As for the tile guy, I would not recommend at all. He left cut, jagged, exposed edges where he should have used trim or bull-nose pieces.Currently, I am battling a sinking front walkway slab after just two years of being in the house. Unfortunately, this issue was noticed 6 months after the one year warranty expired so I am left to deal with having the void filled to prevent future damage.Building the home was overwhelming and I missed some of these issues which I should have caught. I signed off on walkthroughs and inspections so I definitely take my portion of the blame but as a customer, you should not be expected to be an expert. That is why we pay a lot of money to the company who should be on point with these details. So, there were ups and downs with it and I know Burkentine has been building a lot of houses since mine so I hope they have improved with the finer details. If that is the case then I would recommend them.

When we first started our journey working with burkentiene everything was so promising. We have a toddler and when we were looking into homes is brand new beautiful homes looked amazing because we wouldnt have any upkeep. Well just like with every new home, there are usually things that need to be fixed. It really should be as easy as calling or emailing and having the repairs done within the first year of purchasing your home.I was going to wait to review at a year but I am so frustrated. We have a laundry list of things that need to be fixed. We sent the list over to the company multiple times with them only responding twice. And from March 2020 to now December 2020 we have only had two small repairs. Terry the original project manager was great and had all the intentions on helping or so we thought. But there is a new one in our development and he doesnt seem to care about any of it. Living room has a cut in it. Which will eventually cause the flooring to peel back. It actually already started to. Our driveway is sinking in in multiple places. Our cabinet almost fell off the wall that was only holding glasses. They painted the entire house and just primer or they only did one coat, you can see the outline of where they cut in. There are gaps between the sink and the wall, carpet is lifting up in the entryway stairs, among a whole lot of other things. They seem to have helped other neighbors though. The driveway is what worries me the most though it sinks in more and more all the time . We finally got someone to come and look at it but they plan on only fixing one of the dips in it not the other three. There was also a design flaw with the master bedroom closet where the closet door swings in making it impossible to utilize the whole space. Also has been fixed for some neighbors but not others.They have no desire to fix their mistakes. Most of the mistakes had to have been from inexperience. we even had friends that were interested in the community but after what we have been through with them they have decided to go elsewhere. When buying in the future we definitely wont be dealing with them. The materials they use are cheap, they cut corners, and they dont care.The only positive review I really have is for Amy from the office. She did what she could to help for all that she could help for.I apologize if this review is all over the place. Im chasing my toddler around.

Burkentine has been on time with each settlement, and their in-house services have always delivered a smooth settlement process. Even after settlement, they have been attentive to the clients needs. We just bought from Burkentine and they were FANTASTIC!First of all, the house is just gorgeous. I have never been so happy with any other place Ive lived in. Its a lovely neighborhood with the houses well spaced apart for reasonable prices.Second, the staff are very accommodating. We had to push our settlement date back 3 times because the buyer for our prior home was using an unreliable lender, and Burkentine was understanding and supportive. They never threatened to end the contract and even chipped in to help pressure the buyers lender to stop screwing around.We just had our first warranty service call (settlement crack and a loose door, nothing major) and they came quickly and fixed everything right away.Im hoping not to move again anytime soon, but if I do, I would definitely use them again.

Over a year ago our journey of working with Burkentine began. Patience and execution are without a doubt a couple areas of strength. We purchased our home in September 2018. The home buying process was really smooth and the communication was great. We a very happy burkentine was able to help us buy our first home.Our house itself is great. There were 1 or 2 minor issues they came up before settlement but the builder corrected them before closing. We love the layout and the design that was chosen.I took away two stars because of the yard. It leaves A LOT to be desired. It seems as if all the top soil was stripped off and never replaced. We were left with an uneven, heavily compacted, rocky mess. There is no chance grass will grow in this and I will have to do some regrading. If that can be fixed this is for sure a 5 star.Update: Mr. Burkentine contacted me after leaving my original review and offered to give me more soil. This was awesome of him and the soil that was given to me looks to be of high quality. Thank you very much.

A few minor things could not be complete before closing but Burkentine and I were able to come to an acceptable solution. We plan to move into our new home in the next month. Weve been in our new home for a few months now and really like it! We are first time home buyers and Burkentine made the process very easy. They took the time to go over all the material and color options with us by showing numerous samples. We were also able to customize the interior layout pretty easily. All of which made it feel more like ours and not another cookie cutter home. They have also been responsive to all our questions and concerns before during and after the building process.

Burkentine made the new home buying process as easy as possible. The sales team was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process.

My wife and I have been working with Burkentine Builders for about 6 months building our new home. From the start they have been absolutely amazing during this process. Mike, Stacy, and Scott all made us feel totally comfortable, responded quickly to absolutely any need or questions we had, and were extremely professional. We can not recommend Burkentine Builders enough!

If I could give Burkentine zero stars I would! This company is in business not to help anyone but to rip you off! We lived and rented one of their town homes for 13 months and the experience from the time we sat down with these people was like we were criminals!First off they go through a ton of paperwork where you essentially sign your life away where you have no rights. Everything is about them! They claim this is protection for their business but its really to scam you!Thank God we only had to deal with these people for just over a year! We literally left this town home in better condition then we first moved in even after the walk through we were informed the placed looked great and they just wanted to insure us a full refund. But thats not what happened.Understandably, when we signed all of the incoming paperwork $300 is deducted right off the top for carpet cleaning however even after we left this town home spotless they deducted another $145 for the same cleaning we did and another $50 for a cracked refrigerator drawer even though they acknowledged this was overlooked and would reimburse us which we still have not received since May of this year.We were so furious with this company that we even wrote the attorney general and filed a complaint. They did respond to that letter and did admit they would send us that check for the $50 but the rest of their correspondence was just made up excuses for not giving us the balance of we were owed from $1300 security deposit. We are still waiting for our money.

Ive worked with the entire Burkentine family and they are top-notch. They are extremely professional, attentive to details and have the most beautiful homes and rental properties. Kaitlin and Emily were a true pleasure to work with. Id definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new home.

I lived at this rental property for 24 months. After I moved out these people charged me to paint the walls which were NOT damaged or stained at all. Just the usual paint job between new tenants which by the way it didn’t even need. Just probably needed a wipe down. I also asked them if I could shampoo the carpet myself before leaving and they said NO! And that even if I did they would still charge me the $300 fee. I could have gotten it done for half that amount for a three bedroom townhouse.Now three and a half years later I get a call from a debt collector for $168 balance they are trying to squeeze out of me. I have NO PETS and NO CHILDREN and the unit was only a year old when I moved in. There was absolutely no damage to the walls and if painting is necessary then IT IS THE LANDLORD’S RESPONSIBILITY to paint if it’s just normal wear and tear. These people are crooks. And now years later they want 168 dollars after keeping my $1250 deposit mind you. DO NOT RENT WITH THESE CROOKS. You won’t see any deposit and they will try to get even more money from you!
