They wont take advance reservations. The website says that they will if you call, but they dont. You have to put it in online on the same day, Even though the website says you can call the individual shop if you need to book earlier than the same day. When I called they were kind of mean about it.

Firstly, I appreciate the fact that they are open during this pandemic surge. Secondly, due to the staff limitations, you might end up with a trainee or a less experienced stylist. You might not get what youve asked for.

I have been very protective of my hair lately. You see I’m thinning, receding, and balding in different areas of my scalp.My sides still grow strong and curly. As such, my hair always looks like a blotchy mess. I have a hard time being vulnerable and taking my hair to anyone else. I normally cut my sides at home and try and keep my center as high as possible, but it always looks bad.Brenda at Supercuts smiled at my concerns, informed me of ways she could try, and then delivered.No one has been able to fade my hair together in a way that it looks like I’m not balding at all. Other shops have given me the “Military High and Tight” cut to hide the central area with all of its problems, with varying results in different lighting and always uneven by the end of the three stays, but only Brenda made the fading issue go away.I went to a wedding and in all lighting my hair looked even and I felt great! I’m no longer concerned about looking back at pictures of my life and explaining my “awkward phase” transitioning into bald. Brenda is giving me control as I go!Thank you Supercuts!-Joe

Mabel is a GODDESS at what she does. Took me a million different stylists to cut my curls all wrong, she explained to me why my cut looked the way it did and fixed it exactly as it should have been. Didnt give 5 stars because there are a couple younger girls (mid 20s) who dont seem to care about what they do and a couple older stylists can be rude as well but most of them are trust worthy. If youre looking to get your curls cut though Id recommend Mabel 120%

Asked for a 3 on the sides and a 4 on the top and to leave the front a bit longer so I could spike it up. Got my whole head buzzed at a 1 or 2 with about 4 hairs at the front to spike up. She left a good deal of hair on my face and said I was good to go. I paid $17 and change to make it look like Im gonna go enlist. Dont go here.

This place is a joke. If you want a crappy, rushed haircut, please go there. The staff is rude and their call in system is a joke. I called ahead to get a cut from a specific person who had actually given me a decent haircut the previous time I came in (which is rare). I showed up on time and when I went to the counter to check in, the never pleasant woman at the front desk asked my name, looked me up in the computer, and said what in the world? why did they...? and then told me to have a seat, shell be with you in a few minutes. After sitting there for 15 minutes, she told me that shes going to be a while, shes doing a dye job. I asked how long I would have to wait. Her response was at least about a good hour. I reminded her that I had called in ahead of time and reserved a time an hour from when I had called in. She insulted my intelligence by trying to tell me that my call in time was for an hour earlier (when I had PLACED the call to them to reserve a time!), knowing that THEY had screwed up. She knew it from the moment that I walked in and she looked my name up on the computer and made that what in the world? why did they...? comment. Dimwit! No apology, just a rude go to hell attitude. NEVER AGAIN!

Haircut much too short ... I dont like it at all ... it was a mistake to continue with Sandy as she doesnt listen ... she poisoned my scalp and is real witch !!!Ive been going to supercuts for years always a good haircut with Linda. She had to quit due to illness so l started with Sandy and after 3 only visits this year with her there is no hair left on top of my scalp to cut. Last visit (8/9/17) she used some solution she said was water and shaved my scalp instead of cutting the hair with a scissors. Now no hair is growing there ... time to sue Supercuts !!

Not a good experience. Ruined my hair. They definitely did not understand the use of chemicals on hair. My hair was platinum blond with huge patches of orange and even some dull grey spots. I am normally dark ash blond, no gray. I will NEVER go back. And this was supposedly a manager. Good grief!

Not your Mom and Dads laundromat with tacky plastic chairs or wood benches. Tastefully decorated with wicker, comfortable sofas and carpet in the sitting area. Yet the price is comparable to other laundromats in Hamden.

Don’t everrrrrrr go there they fidnt listen to my instructions and my hair still hasn’t grown to the place where they were supposed to cut it. I specifically said a little bit passed my shoulders with shrinkage meaning when my hair is curly it should be at that point and they cut it above my shoulders not even touching it! And the lady said she’d cut it a little bit longer and if it’s too long she’ll cut it more and she still cut it to short! Just find a different place.

Workers are rude. The women cutting my hair (she has long curly hair and is stationed in the back right of the building) was more focused on everything going around her than actually doing her job. The hair cut was terrible and I had to ask her to clean it up several times. I wont step foot in that place again and Ill make sure others dont as well.

A middle aged woman with longer curly hair cut my hair. She was extremely rude to me and continually criticized me for being unable to articulate what I wanted...though I’ve never had this problem with any other stylist before, even others at THIS place. Normally they ask a few questions and then understand what to do and along the way ask for my feedback. Normal stuff. I don’t know why she was giving me a hard time for not using the right terms or knowing what size buzzer guide other stylists used because she didn’t listen to my wishes anyway. Obliterated my side burns first thing without asking. My hair ended up completely different lengths from one side to the other. Neck looked like a disaster, stuck out in all different directions. She continually told me it would look bad if she did what I asked her to do...which seemed to justify her attitude of doing whatever she felt like. She only spent about 10 minutes...which was too much if you ask me. I would not have dared ask her to fix something for fear she would make it worse! I would have refused to pay, but she’s a scary person and I just wanted to get out unscathed. I had to call around to find someone else to fix it for me. The next stylist was pretty perplexed by the condition this lady left my hair and assumed I had walked out without having it finished. I can forgive a bad haircut, maybe, but she was obnoxiously rude. I felt lucky to get out with hair at all. How is she employed?There are other stylists there who are totally fine. But I will never go back. I won’t be treated that way.

Friendly staff, but worst haircut I have ever had. Did not listen to instructions, or the purpose of the haircut (smart for an office / meetings). Looks like a cheap army cut gone wrong. Cut badly, that the back hairs stand up (cut too short). Was a quick job, not something youd expect from a professional salon. Have no idea what to do with this message, as I cant wear a hat at the office. Do not recommend at all, unless you go on with a picture and make sure they absolutely know what you want.

Worst place ever. Staff is rude and they do not know what they are doing. Brought my 8 year old grand daughter in for a simple wash and trim and they screwed her hair up. This was the second time they messed up her hair. Two different stylist so can not blame same girl. Lesson learned this time. There will not be a third time for sure. When you have to pay a second hair salon to fix what the first one screwed up it is not funny. How did so many ugly personailties end up in one place. Place was very dirty and run down. The staff was rude to each other and to the customers. Did a horrible job. Luckily it wasn’t my hair they cut. Never taking my grandfather back here. I should’ve turned around and left as soon as I walked in-I advice using a different salon. Customers beware.

Excellent place to get your hair done

My very simple buzzcut the last 3-4 times has been mediocre to just plain bad, so shame on me for continuing to come here and letting the short distance from home and their coupons get to me. But today, officially, NEVER AGAIN. I had such a rude experience- middle aged woman with curly hair (seems to be many complaints about her on Google) begins the cut asking what shampoo I use. She then proceeded to go yuck, that brand is awful before running a sales pitch on their overpriced shampoo and shoving the same bottle in my face TWICE to smell it. The pitch was unprofessional enough, let alone her insulting my bathroom purchases. The cut (again, a buzzcut, not rocket science) was once again mediocre, hairs sticking out here and there. And it was very rushed, violent strokes, just one time through, no 2nd checks (the store was also empty at the time). Disgraceful.

So I got a haircut yesterday and I have short hair as it is. I mean if to much is cut off the hole thing will look horrible. I waited an hour to get a haircut and then the man who came in after me got cut first. I finally got called and told the lady what I wanted I asked which cut would be better for my hair right now and she said ya ya okay and chose the shorter one. Then she starts shaving my head the wrong way and takes the hair on top of my head and starts randomly chopping it off. I was horrified I couldnt believe she did that I wanted to cry my hair was so uneven and untextured it looked like a cat attacked me. She moved the parting of my hair to the other side of my head and said ya ya it looks good. If you know that you cant cut hair the way someone wants it cut just say so instead of taking a wild guess and seeing what happens. I wouldnt have been offended or hurt if she did that but instead never bothered to tell me. She was rude and illtrained at what she does and now I have to go to a professional hair salon to get it fixed and if they cant, shave my hair off. I have never been so embarassed to be in public. And now have to waste more money on another haircut when it could have been right the first time.
