This hospital went above and beyond my expectations to help my lovely cat! The vet is super knowledgeable and nice and I couldn’t imagine a better experience for myself and my pet. The staff was also super friendly and did everything they could to make us comfortable. Special shout out to Jeffrey for being so helpful and calming any of my anxieties about visiting a new vet. I will definitely be returning to this location.

BEWARE: Bait and switch! Came in to have an inspection for dental cleaning on our small dog. The guy quoted us at $250 for the cleaning plus the blood work which was an additional $250 that they went ahead and did without our permission. Asked about extractions at that time of blood work and they said no just the cleaning for $250. Then comes the appointment for the cleaning they now say the cleaning is $375 plus he needs 3 extractions for $120 extra. My wife never agreed to this but they charged her almost $600 more than twice the quote given. Ridiculous and untrustworthy. Will not be returning.Edit: obviously Im angry when your vet tech tells my wife and I one thing then its completely different when we go to drop off our dog. There was no misunderstanding between my wife and I. There is a misunderstanding of the prices with your employees. His excuse was he didnt know the correct price. I could have had the same procedure for half the price somewhere trustworthy and transparent. Your pricing is not transparent and your lab tech told us the wrong price.I am angry with the BAIT AND SWITCH that you pulled on my wife. How a $250 quote for a cleaning became $1000 is absurd. The cleaning is actually $375 for anyone interested.And they will try to upsell you on everything.Thanks for the discount 👍😂 and the apology? Oh wait...

I want to write this review for a long time. since I am extremely grateful to the entire team of this wonderful clinic. I am Cocos mother, a gray Chiuahua who came to the clinic very sick. From the first second that they treated me with all the compassion in the world, I was crying and they also tried to calm me down. They were super attentive and fast. They gave a precise diagnosis to coco since we had to act quickly and they were attending him for 5 days with great affection and constantly in contact with me to inform me of the entire process. Dr joe is super professional and very attentive. 5 stars and I recommend this vet to everyone 100%!

I had to take my 11 years old dog, Benito to the animal hospital where there I found the best quality hospital for him. The hospital is very good quality as well as very caring and loving attention given from all the staff. My dog needed a teeth cleaning since that was causing him stomach pains but we were worried about the sedation since he is a senior dog and has a heart condition, but the work was done beautifully and very carefully by Dr. Cepeda, hes always excited to go for his checkups and has been having so much more energy since.

I brought my little chihuahua here because he was having issues with walking and before I got there I was very worried about my dogs health but after coming to this clinic I left with no worry or doubt in my mind.The staff is so professional and sweet you can honestly tell they love every pet that comes through that door. All of my questions were answered and the care my dog received was quick and efficient. They had my dog in and out the same day. Not only did they consider my dogs feelings but mine as well and that’s not something you see in most clinics so I can confidently say this one is exceptional.Thank you doctor and staff you truly are appreciated!

I went to see them with my elderly cat dehydrated and close to the end. They were a godsend. My cat is eating and drinking again and put on almost 2 lbs in 2 days with me following their instruction. They were so kind and loving to my Gracie, from the woman that answered the phone to Dr Barbosa. They are all incredible. I couldn’t ever put her in anyone else’s hands. I’ve been a victim of bad vets in the past and was so leery but when I got there I knew I was where we needed to be. Don’t ever hesitate to go to them and trust them.Signed by a cynic who never thought I’d trust another vet again. My faith is renewed thanks to them ALL.

I sure Mr. Dr. Barbosa he sure think would of had a heart. I felt like all that matter at this point was the $. My baby has a mass that could of been taken care of ahead of time. They made me spent $300 worth of xrau and focus on a dental work. Went home and no one even called back to follow up. Terrible. I called back my self to find out about the results and everything was normal no where was there a plan of treatment toake care what I initially came for. Mass grew and grew I called back upset I was schedule to come an. Then said we can discount for $1000 and change and basically take it or leave it and apologizing no heart they wanted $2000 dollar to remove the mass initially. I ran out of thre. If your going thru a hard situation and need v et doctor for your fur baby go to someone athat eart. I sure found someone thats cares and knows my financial situation and worked with me and saved my baby and did everything they wanted to do for not even half the prices they wanted to charge. Too expensive no heart.

I came here many years ago for the treatment of my dog, she was a bassett hound. They were great back then, and they’re still great now! I brought over my 12-year-old schnauzer mix to do a dental cleaning, and they took very good care of him! They made sure that he was taken care of and they did all the bloodwork before they started the deep cleaning.They are very friendly in the office and they always put a smile on your face! I also appreciated a follow-up call the next day to make sure that my dog has been feeling better. The waiting area is also very clean. My dog and myself came in and I didn’t realize he peed on the floor and within a couple minutes a gentleman came and told me not to worry about it that they were clean it up. If you need a good vet this is the place to come!

I took my cat Frankie here about 10 times over the past 3 months for a flea infection and spent about $1000. for various tests, shots and medicines. Dr. Cepeda and office manager Jeffrey went overboard to provide the best possible treatment and Frankie is (almost) all better and has an ongoing treatment plan. I am writing this review to thank Dr. Cepeda, but also to remark that animals are often hard to treat (they cant talk) and a remedy often takes time and money so please trust the Doctors advice.

Thank you so much for the excellent service provided. Didn’t have an appointment and they still took me in, very informative. Dr Cepeda was the veterinarian that saw my dog but I was also able to meet dr Barbosa. Both very Linda and explained everything to me. I finally found a veterinarian that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. Thank you all very much again, Sadie is doing great.

Ive had to give up a cat before due her treatments being way too costly so when Princess got the same diagnosis, I was so nervous that I wouldnt be able to afford to treat her. Thankfully that was not the case at all when I found this office. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and supportive. Dr. Cepeda made sure I understood everything he was explaining to me. Very caring and welcoming facility, I would definitely recommend them and we will be back soon!

Dr Joe Barbosa is the best vet I’ve ever had!I’ve had dogs my entire life but Barbosa and his staff are the absolute best!From the minute in the front door you’re greeted by a friendly, caring voice ready to help. The staff works well together and obviously respect one another as well as Dr Barbosa. Having a good vet is vital as a dig owner. Good service and responsive to the animals needs

Bad informed , they seem not to know the difference in county laws or they don’t inform you so they can get your money ( after Seen your address they should know ) this clinic is super expensive just for walk in they charge you the outrageous amount of 64 dollars. Price is a discrepancy but tell people before you take the dogs in. Most expensive vet visit I have seen 0 starts if you ask me.

Just cared about the payment, i am a senior citizen with very low income, they demanded the payment in full even I asked for installments, they advertise $15 dollars off from your firs visit!!! Forget it! It is a fraudulent advertising!The worst vet EVER ! DO NOT GO THERE!They do not care about your dogs and cats, they ignore them, they financially abuse senior citizens, they are definitely not the best doctors , they are dishonest doctors !

I have been to many (m a n y) vets which always end in disappointment. I drive over an hour to visit Dr. Cepeda. He explains things in a way that I can trust his diagnosis and he takes his time with my doggies. I trust Dr. Cepeda more than my own brother.

It took Dr. Barbosa one minute to find out what was wrong with my Emelie.She had a bad tooth that prevented her from closing her mouth.She had her tongue out and was drooling.He pulled out her bad tooth and she could close her mouth again.Dr. Barbosa has many, many years of experience and he is one of the best vets Ive been to.If you need a vet that cares and knows what he is doing, make the appointment with Dr. Barbosa.

I love Animal Hospital of Hallandale! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They are ready to answer all of my questions and concerns at any time! Dr.Cepeda and Jeffrey made bringing my new fur baby home an extremely easy and stress free process which I appreciated so much, specially during this uncertain time. Would definitely recommend!

My cat started going outside of the litter box, first time I thought it was an accident, but after 3 more times, I knew this was a red flag for a potential UTI or something else (happened to me before). I called and was able to get a same-day walk-in appointment for 11am. I arrived at 10:35am to start filling out the paperwork, they finally took the cat inside the office at 12:20am, I had to wait for almost an hour!!! After they took her it took 20 more min for an exam, test, prescription, which left me frustrated at best. I came in on Saturday and on Monday they said they will call with lab results, but they called me on Friday to follow up (4 days late). Thankfully the antibiotics worked so I didnt care much about the results at that point, but still. The staff was friendly, but they need to be respectful of their clients time.

They saved our beloved 19 year old cat’s life after another vet almost killed her! We take all our fur babies to them and would not trust anyone else! Thank you everyone at the hospital. We truly appreciate all your kindness and care for all our pets!

Let my start off my saying that my dog, Athena, is a handful. Almost every clinic that I have taken her to has had difficulty with treating her, BUT this is the one and only clinic where they’ve been able to do everything that is needed without a problem, they are professional and patient, the customer service is over the top, better than a Marriott, the vets are outstanding, honestly love this place, I appreciate how well they take care of my pup.

Dr. Cepeda is such a nice and caring vet! Has been taking care of my dogs since I got them! The staff there is also really nice to humans and pets. My dogs always get the best treatment there, their prices are fair and their work is impeccable! Super diligent when it comes to urgent care of my babies!

Wow ! What an amazing team ! I took my pet in to get seen since she was having some breathing problems and wasn’t eating. I called and told them what was happening and they told us to walk in and accommodated us into their schedule same day! Greatly appreciated! The ladies in the front desk were very warm and welcoming. Dr. C and Jeffery were very kind and gentle with my pet. They treated her as if she was theirs. I cannot express enough how kind this team was and made me and my baby feel at home and at ease. They were very helpful with payment as well; they let me know the costs upfront and told me what could wait and what needed to be done today...this is something no other animal care facility has ever done for me. highly recommend

Above all, and in addition to his professional knowledge, and experience, Dr. Barbosa is the most compassionate, caring, and ethical veterinarian one could dream of finding for ones beloved pet. He puts the pets best interest ahead of anything else, and takes the most humane approach in treating his patients. Most of us love our pets like children. I, of course plead guilty. Our family has used Dr. Barbosa since the day he arrived at the animal hospital and we have been loyal clients of the hospital there on Hallandale Beach Blvd. since the early 1970s! Never been or trusted our animals anywhere else! Best care, service, staff, personality, caring, and prompt attention as well as being an honest and fair business. I lost my cat this month, and there was a mix up on her final bill, and they called me with an $85 credit to my account. WHEN was the last time a business called YOU to let you know you had a credit with them? They wanted to let me know next time I was in the area, drop by to get the balance, or I can keep the credit toward a future visit. Thats just how they roll- honesty all the way. They never scam or cheat you. Its all in the best interests of you and your pet. Believe me, 45+ years of going there, I know of what I write. I found Animal Hospital of Hallandale on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. I was able to get an appointment for the same day and once I arrived I was seen relatively quick! My dog was having trouble breathing and no appetite going on almost 3 days. The doctor and the vet tech were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They were mindful of my budget and I never once felt pressured into any services that I didn’t need (a common occurrence at other animal hospitals). Just a few hours later and my girl is back to her normal self! I will definitely take all 5 of my animals there from now on!

Do to the pandemic, an appointment was necessary. My appointment was at 10:30 am, but I wasnt seen until 10:55 am. If not for me telling one of the assistants who came outside for another pet, I feel that I wouldve been ignored even longer.

I was impressed by the promptness and quality of service especially considering the covid-19 situation. Got my cat’s certificate and USDA endorsement with a matter of a day which was almost unbelievable since only one office was operating across 7 states.

This was my first time here and Dr. Cepeda and Jeffery were wonderful. I called the office at 730 that day, the office staff were very accommodating and fit us in at 1030. The wait was quick when we got there. Jeffery handled my kitty with care and patience, he seemed very experienced! Dr Cepeda was so kind and informative, he took his time to help us come up with the best plan and treatment. I did not feel pressured for extra tests or anything like that. The cost was very reasonable and worth it. Would highly recommend this animal hospital.

I sincerely say this is one of the best vets in Miami. Reasonably priced and most importantly actually care ! They accommodated my tough schedule, when I called numerous times in regards to my kittens health they helped no hesitation and no attitude. They are all so friendly and after surgery they called two days later to see how hes doing and if I have any questions!❤❤❤ truly grateful and customer for life!

Today I had a 1pm follow up about appointment for my dog Wally. I got there a few minutes before 1. I was taken to the examination room around 1:05. I ended up waiting in the examination room for 30 minutes waiting to see the Dr. the vet tech came in twice telling me first that the doctor was finishing up on a surgery . 15 minutes later he came in again saying the doctor would be right in. Finally at 1:35, I left the exam room and explained to the front desk staff that I could not wait indefinitely and would reschedule my appointment . The vet tech said he would check to see what was going on with the doctor, after 5 minutes he had not come out I decided to reschedule the appointment and I left . If the doctor was in an emergency situation and he could not leave then that should have been stated to me openly and plainly and I could have made the decision to wait or reschedule . That was not done. I feel like they could have been a lot more honest about the situation instead of leaving me and my Wally waiting for more than 30 minutes. In my opinion this situation was not handled professionally .

Everyone at Animal Hospital of Hallandale was incredibly kind, informative, and helpful to my dog and I. The staff was very attentive to my dog and treated her very well during her shots and tests, keeping her incredibly calm and making her feel safe. It was also very affordable. I am happy to make this my primary vet in broward county now that I’m a resident!

The front staff, vet techs and doctors are very engaged and welcoming. It seems like a small family and not like a sterile clinic atmosphere. Dr. Barbosa is very conservative and is driven by the health and care of your pets over padding the final bill. I highly recommend this business.

Thank you for your help today! Our cat Uni was lethargic for the last couple days & was starting to get us worried. Called in & AHA made us feel taken care of in a sense that they gave us all the information we needed to take care of her & get her into the center. From there the fill-in Dr. of the day was very informative, & meticulous to his craft to make sure she was taken care of. They provided us with the best care, reviewed tests to take precautionary measures, & provided us with reasonable payment options to get her the best treatment at an affordable price. She seems to be energized since the visit & back to moving around & saying hello to everyone. Will follow-up but the care today made it a lot less stressful than it could have been. Thanks Again!!

Our pets are like our family. When something goes wrong they cannot speak, but we know they are suffering. Dr. Barbosa and his staff are extremely caring and attentive. My fur baby got into garbage accidentally and we thought we were going to lose her. Dr. Barbosa took great care of her and we cannot be more pleased with everything. I highly recommend this office for all your vet needs.

My trip to the vet with my cat was wonderful! They take real good care of you and quick service! My favorite person there is Julia, she was so polite and always keeping me informed with everything! She is a very awesome employee!

Took my baby here for the first time and was extremely pleased with the service... minimal waiting they had availability that worked with my schedule today. It’s really Clean, and they were very informative just all around pleasant visit.

Very good veterinarian who cares about animals. He took the time to explain my cats X-rays to me and all of the staff were courteous and professional. Their prices are also very reasonable. I would have paid at least twice as much anywhere else. I will be taking my cats here from here on.

My dog been for a treatment 3 times in a 1,5 years, with different symptoms and with different issues but medical stuff were keep saying that’s allergy , keeps giving us the medication that’s only was working for the time we taking it, after that all was come back and I ve been told that we didn’t come for re-check that’s why...so funny, so I suppose to comeback for the treatment that never works and to waste another 300-400$ hundreds on their guessing...again it wasn’t once, three times different issues, same unprofessional things again and again...They also messed up with my insurance company so they refused to reimburse

Started coming here a little over a year ago with my cat, and now more recently with my dog. Dr Barbosa is not only a very smart and skilled vet, but hes always friendly, engaging, and empathetic to the needs of my fur babies. He takes his time during the exam and always answers my 10 million questions. Hes very patient and very kind and you can tell he loves what he does AND he loves the pets in his care. Ive dealt with several vets over the years throughout South Florida and I can tell you that this clinic, and its entire team, is the BEST! 🐱🐶

They checked her out and gave me medication for her.in just one day she was back to or better than normal. I would recommend animal hospital of hallandale to anybody with a pet .The people are nice and the prices are reasonable to.i thank all of you for treating me and rosie like family thank you.

I don’t know who can give 1 star rating, probably fake profiles...I’ve been taking my cats there since 2010. And all I can say is doctor Barbosa, doctor Cepeda and the girls who work there are wonderful. Every time you visit them you feel like you and your pet are very special, lots of care and love. Yes, this place doesn’t look fancy, but does it really matter if your fluffy friend received the best care he could? Thank you for everything you do! You are the best vets I could wish for my cats!

I’ve been coming to Dr. Joe Barbosa for several years. He is a caring veterinarian and it’s very clear that this is his vocation and not just a job. It’s rare to find someone like him. I recommend his practice highly and will always have him care for my 2 cats.

I recently took my dog to Dr. Barbosa for an Ear hemotoma and the service that he provided was immeasurable. Not only was the price affordable, but the staff treated us like family. Dr. Barbosa thoroughly explained the procedure and what to expect in the coming days and even showed me pictures of past procedures. After the procedure was done, I was given prescriptions for Lily and told when and how to give her the after care medicines. The following day Lily was jumping around and back to her normal self. Just when I thought the hospitality would end, I got follow up calls throughout the week checking up on Lily to make sure she was doing well. This place really cares and is not like most Veterinarian offices where they charge you an arm and a leg and then send you packing. I would DEFINITELY recommend bringing your furry family members here.

Dr Barbosa is great! After going to different vets he is the only one that made a correct diagnosis of my dogs issues. The personnel is very friendly and they treat my dog with kindness. Sometimes I think I would like the staff at my doctors office to treat me that way too!

I know dr Barbosa for more then 15 years been taken generation and generation of my 4 legged family members. I can’t thank him enough. You will not regret. His is simply the best.

Monday evening I drop Pima off my pet cat to be spayed. I was un ease at first because it was the first night she was not with us. But any how I called the next day and asked how she was doing they said she good. I love the fact that the young ladies that work up front were very pleasant and sincere. Natasha (cat whisper) she is such a sweet heart and Dr. B is very knowledgeable and cool 😎

Five stars and more to Dr Barbosa for caring about pets 24/7. Twice we called him on a sunday and twice he responded and came to the clinic for an emergency. Visit him one time and you will see the difference. Not many people like him are left in this world.

My family has been taking our dogs to Dr. Barbosa for over a year now. He is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. The people here make you feel at home and there is a sense of personal attention. My dog was not another cog in the factory if that makes sense. Dr. Barbosa is from Brazil and he was able to communicate in Portuguese, Spanish and English which helped my mother and father a lot!!! I really recommend this animal hospital!!!

Fourteen years ago I adopted Billy who has been rescued by animal Hospital of Hallendale treated and sheltered for eight month .We became part of the hospital family. The reception staff was always very helpful accommodating, and caring. We had an instance of poisoning and received immediate attention by the staff. I fell absolutely taken care of with my pet and would definitely highly recommend the hospital to everyone.
