Very disappointed with my visit. I went in to get my passport renewed. I drove an hour to do this. When I got there, the man at the counter told me he could not renew my passport because I did not have a birth certificate with me. I explained to him that I didnt need one because I am not a minor and I already had a passport. He refused to listen. I went to another post office to renew my passport and they informed me I did not need a birth certificate. It is concerning that an official working in a post office would not be aware of the requirements needed to renew a passport.

Talked with a customer representative on the phone because they didn’t have an address for me for my package. She was a bit rude and unpleasant. Then when my address was corrected, she told me I could pick it up or they can just deliver it tomorrow. Super annoyed with the service.

My companys package was ripped open and when I came to pick up the package and handle the issue I was treated very rudely only one of the people working there were nice to me. They should look into their employees actions this will be reported because I feel like there are some serious problems here.

As a long-time resident of Gurnee, I have enjoyed having the fast, reliable service and professionalism of the Post Office personnel and carriers who have served me through the years. I, too, have had them help with taping a package if necessary and all were knowledgeable, patient and effective in addressing any questions I have had. Thank you for all the years of great service!

My girlfriend got her sensitive tax information ripped opened by some new employee in the back looking through people W-2 forms before sending them out! and they Tried to cover it up with and when we spoke to the manager of the location they said It had to over been an outside source apart from them when it never even got sent out from the gurnee location. They wouldn’t even give us the number to report them for an internal investigation. Her information and our childrens information was compromisedPlease be aware!

Ive lived in Gurnee nearly 16 years, and have used this post office for most shipping needs, as its usually the cheapest. I like to take my time so I usually use the self-service kiosk, but have also used counter service.I have never had a problem!! I see all these 1-star reviews without many details explaining what would lead to 1-star and also wondered how we have such different experiences at the same place?! (Unrealistic expectations?) Or, I suppose if you go several times a week and only use counter service, then perhaps you just have a higher likelyhood of having a bad experience, or multiple 🤷‍♀️.I also set the bar pretty low on humanity in general, so Im rarely disappointed, voice it when I am, which usually works out generously in my favor. Karma, maybe? Send out good energy and other good is attracted to it. The opposite also exists.On the occasions Ive used counter service, Ive experienced rude customers, one or two cranky employees (were all human and have bad days!), but I couldnt tell you much more past that. I choose to not focus on those less-then-perfect experiences and instead on ALL the other times I was smoothly in and out without incident. Those times are easier to forget, yet the majority of our experiences, but when we go searching for negative, you will find it.

This place doesnt like glowing reviews or support? Gurnee Post Office, you cant undo a lifetime of respect and appreciation I have for the USPS and its dedicated staff. Not sure why one would erase good reviews and leave only the bad. Very strange. If you arent doing this you should be aware of the problem. This is my third review and Im just not going to spend 20min of thoughtfulness and time again. If this stays here Ill update it later.

I needed to retract a mailing. I contacted the post-office and spoke with a representative. Not only did she pull it out but took the time to drive it back to my office. She saved us trouble of having to correct our issue. This goes well above and beyond, exceeding customer service expectations! Thank you so much!!

I print my shipping labels at home. This place is nice because I can skip the line and put items into the bin that they have for prepaid packages. Would be 5 stars, but there are long lines here most of the time. I found the staff more amiable than other reviewers here. Parking lot is nice to get in/out quickly.

I went today and the service was excellent, also the personal very kind. Totally recommendable. The woman who attend me, was ill (maybe flu) but always warm and with a smile.

This is the Post Office I used when I lived in Gurnee years ago. I was pleased to find they still have the same friendly service. I did not have tape to seal my package but the clerk said since I was sending Priority Mail he would tape it for me. Love this post office. The facility was clean and well maintained.

Every single employee there is extremely rude and not helpful. They all seem to hate their job and it shows.

Horrible service! Stay far away from that place. They dont know what they doing ! Do not go there for your passport appointments! Indian guy very rude and not knowledgeable at all at what he is doing! If you need a new passport or renew an old one GO TO WAUKEGAN CITY HALL!!!! They help you great ,and walk ins welcome !

Horrible service!! I ship 10-15 items every week 1-2 days priority mail and it never gets to my clients on time. As a paying customer I f Im paying for your service make sure that it gets there. Prices are different because of the day delivery and USPS better start fixing this issues.

Continues to deliver mail to vacant house, despite BLUE DO NOT DELIVER card in mail box and request to have mail forwarded. Helpline is all but useless.

If I could give zero I would have. I ordered a birthday present from Amazon . It never made it. The carrier lied about dropping it off and electronically delivering a package to my house. I called the post office several times with the tracking information and was told by the post office they would call me back. A week later I called again, never did receive a callback, they tell me there is nothing they can do and that my daughter wont get her present. Whatever happened to customer service and pride at the post office. Obviously doesnt exist in Gurnee.

Stop by your office yesterday the girl behind the counter was very rude. I was trying to send a package to my country. She didnt help me at all. I will try different location..

Lost 2 packages in 3 weeks. The first was our magic bands for Disney (luckily Disney is 1000 times better with their service and sent us new ones) and then they lost an expensive hair dryer. Dont ship thru them... go for FedEx or something.

On a regular basis billing statements are returned with invalid excuse Moved, Unable to Forward, Not Delivered as Addressed..oddly the mailings are to addresses in Gurnee but the carriers seem to be incapable of locating longtime customers. Customers have confirmed we are usung correct addresses. Got excuse that the REGULAR carrier was on vacation. SOOOO? With the cost of 50 cents per item they need to do MUCH better.

Gave me incorrect stamps, and my mail with important documents returned back to me after one month for incorrect postal stamps. Delayed my process for 2 months.

I have to give at least one star to review....these multiple star reviews must be for some other post office. The Gurnee post office is a joke. The old post office was small with only 3 cust serv windows. The new one IS bigger but still only has 3 counters. Was there on a Monday by noon. The two guys there were pretty rude indeed and made it feel like they were doing everyone a favor. Just go to the location by the lake in Waukegan if you can.

I show up on Thursday around 10:50 am and the man behind the counter yelled at me to leave the boxes I came to drop off. I get it that its early and slightly busy but being rude wad unnecessary. I wanted to say something but I knew a person with bad costumer service wasnt going to be forgiving. Who defecated on his coffee?

Delivered my mail to the wrong address. Filed a claim, no response. Called and waited over 50 minutes for a call back, was disconnected. Then the automated system called me back hrs later, when I attempted to answer it hung up on me once again. Recomendation, use Fedex, never use USPS.

They provided excellent over the phone service, regarding passports.

Do you want to lie about the check is in the mail? NO need to lie just mail it from Gurnee Post Office you got a 95% chance that check will never be cashed. every time I think Ive seen the worst customer service there is always some trying to beat the other guy out of that title for the worst customer service the only one that is any good there is my postman. If you need something delivered do not go to this post office you will be sorry Ive seen this for over 20 years.

Literally the worst post office Ive ever been into. They put a stop postage on my mail (with out asking me) and claimed my mailbox was full (which it never was). After arguing with them and going to the post office to pick up my mail that they had been hoarding, I got home to discover they gave me the wrong persons mail. After calling them, they realized that they had mixed my mail up with someone elses who had a stop postage. They had no idea where my mail was so I missed a weeks worth of mail.

I have only encountered one lady at this facility that was rude and unprofessional. My postwoman is sorry as heck and lazy.... This is the worst post office to go to!

Check your receipts when sending a package, especially the delivery country.... I had a post office worker type in South Africa instead of South America. Package delivered 9 months later! Horrible.

The staff members I met were kind, friendly and professional even when I made mistakes that might annoy them.
