I had my truck stolen from Fresno, CA it was a 93 Red Nissan Pickup and CHP found it in Grover Beach, when I called to get information on how much to get my truck out from Kautz Towing they told me it was gonna be it was $610 for 1 day to pull it out. I drive out there to pick it up and when I get there they tell me they were too busy to help me and that I was gonna have to wait. My guess is that they do this alot to innocent people and make them wait days so that they can keep charging those outrageous fees. I explained I drove almost 4 hours to get it and mind you I called the night before and said I would be there the next morning and they tried saying they didnt know I was heading out to get it and kept me waiting. HORIBLE SERVICE DO NOT USE THEM.

A few days ago, I stuck my car in sand about 10 feet away from a drive way. It was my mistake, and my own insurance company wouldnt deal with the issue.So I called Kautz Towing, the nearest towing service at that location. The owner told me that their rate is $300 per hour, and asked for my credit card number through the phone. He said this is just to protect their business in case I changed my mind so they could hold $300 against my account.The tow truck arrived shortly for they are just 3 miles away. The guy pulled my car off the sand in a few minutes. But to my surprise, they told me that $300 was just an arrival fee!! On top of that, they still charged me the hourly rate - $300 per hour.What a rip-off!What angers me more than the price is that they are predators, waiting for people who are stuck in a helpless situation to rob them.

Have had to use Kautz Towing on several occasions, unfortunately. They show up quickly, fix my problem efficiently, and are always helpful, and most of all, they are genuinely nice people. I would not use anyone else in south county. I cant speak about their rates because my insurance covers it. But, no matter whatever they charge, its worth it!

I did not use this company. I used College Towing. Kautz wanted 150.00 and College did it for 80.00. Raymond with College Towing handled my Mercedes with kid gloves. Couldnt ask for better service and care than Raymond with College towing rendered.

My insurance roadside assistance did not communicate all the details of my situation and provided an incorrect location to Kautz.Jacob was pleasant and positive on the phone. They were timely and still towed my car even though I was located outside of their towing area.

A real person actually greats a caller! The guys Ive talked to were pleasant, informed on what the situation was and I got the info as I needed. For towing being the original local boys theyre quick and professional and know how to treat vehicles with care.

$300 to show up ..from that point on it is $300 an hour when you get stuck

I was in the process of moving apts and had to move my car from my apt to a mechanic and my insurance assigned me Kautz towing. I’ve always been hesitant with tow truck operators because of negative past experiences but when Mickey from Kautz showed up he not only tried to help me figure out what was wrong with it but made the entire experience so pleasant. He got my non-starting vehicle out of my carport which was in a small apt driveway and took it to the mechanic of my choice. His overall professionalism, punctuality and great service really made this stressful situation so much easier. I’ll never call another towing company again. Kautz customers for life. The owner was Awesome to deal with, (pretty sure I woke him up) very personable and pleasant. Mickey was the gentleman who came out to help me and was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend this company.

Kautz Towing is amazing! They have a great owner who is very helpful and a team that cares about their customers. I know there are so many different towing companies in the central coast, but this one goes above and beyond the norm. Whether you have a tire that needs to be changed, get in a fender-bender, or unfortunately a full on car accident; Kautz Towing is the place to call.

It was a busy day I was moving equipment from one shop to another and my starter went out. Jason arrived in minutes, tried to save a tow by messing with starter but it was too far gone, so it was a tow, I highly recommend Kautz towing

Vulture-like pricing practices. It really pains me to write a critical review...I always wanna give folks every benefit of the doubt, and, Im sure Kautz employees have helped a lot of people out of a jam when they really needed it. I called the owner...gave him/her 3 days to respond...no response came...so heres my review:But...(and this is directed to the OWNER/MANAGEMENT, not to the guys working the trucks)...I was charged $300 for a 2 mile tow, $75 for 90 minutes of storage (the rate is $75/day, but of course theres no break for using just 90 minutes), a $150 gate fee to open the gate on a Saturday afternoon (even though folks seemed to be already there...but even if they werent...$150??), and on top of all that, 5% to use my debit card when the actual fee is maybe 2%. (I guess Kautz would lose too much money on their $525 for 1 hours work to simply eat the 2% like most/all other retailers do. Yeesh.)Yes, this was a tow because of a parking violation, and yes, thats my fault...guilty.But...Kautz...cmon...Charging people that kind of money just because you CAN? Just because the law (maybe) says its OK? If the law said you could charge $1000, would you do it? $2000? More?Look...its OK to charge for services rendered...of course it is...its even OK to charge a lot for those services (if you do a damn good job). But $556 for 1 hours work and a 2 mile tow? Thats highway robbery. Its thievery. Its disgusting. Its extortion. Its vulture-like.Its simply WRONG.Taking advantage of people when they have no other recourse is truly sickening. And unfortunately, the owner of Kautz exudes this in spades.

Richard (Rich) brought me from AG to Cambria. I was at an animal surgery center and dealing with my hurt dog and her impeding surgery and having to leave her there...needless to say I was a mess and then my car wouldnt start! He was calm and professional as well as just a really nice guy.

I got my car towed by some idiot who couldnt tell me the price of the tow because they towed based off the hour. then he couldnt tell me the price of the hour because he was just a driver. an hour later im at my house being told by this same brain dead simpleton that its going to cost $400 because of the mileage. one of the most unhelpful and pointless people ive ever interacted with.
