Mark ripped me off by knowing the problem but taking payment for something that wasnt the issue in order to get two jobs. He conducted a diagnosis but told me he couldnt do one until a new trans was in the vehicle. I disputed the charged since my car never worked after dealing with him and the bill totalling more than the cars value. He rebutted the charge back by telling my credit card company one thing which is he didnt run a diagnosis and telling the bbb he did run a diagnosis. Both were on submitted statements signed by Mark. Sleazy guy. Dont trust him.

Great experience at this mechanic shop. The shop mechanics took care of my vehicle and went the extra mile making sure everything is going well. Mark, the shop manager, made the experience here even better explained what was wrong and needed to be fix in great detail. I would recommend this place and will especially be coming here again.

This please I mean wow. It was that time to get my emissions test and I failed and had to get an extension on my registration. I took the car into USA Muffler and Brakes and they told me that they would have to do their own $50 test on the car and that they would not just fix what the state was asking for. I told them I had two hours until I had to pick up my son and they waited about an hour and 45 minutes until they put my car in a bay. I went out to have a cigarette and was watching my car and they never started it and nobody was working on it. About three minutes after my car was pulled into the building, the manager knocks on the window before Im halfway through my cigarette saying that the estimate is ready. They had absolutely no diagnostic paperwork of Their Own but still charged me the $50 + $40 they said they had to charge to test each node on my Electric Board. However, during this time in Which no testing could have been done , plus I was watching, the manager had managed to copy the numbers off of my state Diagnostics and write them on their own paperwork and say oh the state was right. I said they didnt do anything and I wasnt going to pay for today said oh oh, we have your keys dont you have to get your son? Now theyve been trying to put that bill through the at the bank every month and I have to keep disputing it. Do not come to this shop and less you personally know the mechanic and he isnt going to run his hustle on you. Especially for emissions test

The staff is awesome and they know what they are doing. USA muffler fixed my transmission and so far I have no complaints. They are awesome and fast they try to get your vehicle back to u as fast as they can. All around I had a great first time experience. I definitely will go back for any other issues I might have on my car. I recommend USA muffler and brakes to anyone that has issues on their car. They rock.

My husband brings all our vehicles here. Manager Mark is very knowledgeable, the mechanics are all friendly and willing to answer all your questions. We reccomend this location to everyone, they do speedy work and they guarantee it. What more can we ask for?

I have been a customer of USA for approximately three years now. I am from Ohio and I come in town for work quite often. Every time I have been in for service they have given me a car to use while my work was being done.This is very important to me since I travel a lot for work. I was not inconvenienced in the multiple times I have used USA for service. If you care about your car as much as I care about mine, please do not hesitate to use USAA for anything. I’m happy I did not!

Man I never write reviews but I had to show some love to this place! All the staff super nice people. Had a whole flow master exhaust built for my suv by them welds, the hanging just great quality work! Also replace my whole front braking system aftermarket parts they did a great job! I had gone to other businesses about the noise my car was making and was told it was tie rod issue, turns out that wasnt the problem at all, they saved me a lot of money. Their honesty means a lot to me.

I have been through 4 cars and minivans (used $2100 or less) since 2005 and because I often neglect taking good care of them, USA Muffler takes care of it within a few hours. They are cool people and Im always satisfied! A little bit costly but its worth it because I never have an issue!

Went in for a gasket upper manifold complete and cat converter was quoted $931.00 asked if the guy at the front counter can do better than that he said he couldn’t because my cars muffler system was one piece. I replied could he just order a universal kit and weld it on. He said no. Showed me a picture and highlighted said area the whole thing has to be replaced, I said okay.(Had to get fixed so I could continue to work my two jobs and support my family)Parts cost $279.30 Labor was at $632.15 out the door was 931.00 when I picked it up and got home I noticed 3’ of original pipe that was included in highlighted area that was still existing. Keep in mind this was part of the highlighted area that was supposed to be replaced but was not. I a welder myself did not have the time to do the repair myself other wise I would of but had I known that it would of been done like this i could of saved some money and did it myself.I understand it’s a life lesson learned the hard way but I write this so other may know what they are getting themselves into. $632.00 in labor is ridiculous. Will not be going back to USA muffler in Griffith IN.

First time reviewer here! I called and spoke to Mark several times ( yes Im a bit neurotic) over the last couple weeks regarding my 2009 Hyundai. I was researching maintenance items for my car with the mileage (112900) my car currently has. He was more than helpful and insiteful, and explained to me what was relevant and what was gimmicky. Ultimately we decided to do the timing belt and water pump kit. I brought it in at 9am on a Tuesday. He had a full house, but made me feel like I was the only customer there. I never felt like he was rushing through my questions, and he even had his father (who is retired) come in to give me a ride home. He called me at the end of the day to say that it was finished, but asked if we could keep it over night so he could test drive it in the morning. That was no problem, and I was promptly picked up at 8:30am the following day with my car good as new. Thanks for everything and I will be back!!

My first visit here. Fast and friendly service at a great price. I chose to wait there while the nearly 2 hour job was being done and Mark seemed to know nearly everyone that came in for repairs. That’s the kind of trust and repeat business I like to see and would return to.

Mark and the guys at USA MUFFLER are a good bunch of guys very knowledgeable and do graft work have dealt with these guys for years and will continue.

Went there for my check engine light on. The emission paper had all of these codes on it so I expected a big repair bill. But instead, mark at USA told me that my gas cap was loose, tightened it, and cleared my codes. 2 days later I passed the test and now have my plates! Customer for life right here. Will go there from now on, as should you!!

I have started going here when I lived in Griffith years ago - I find myself still going there even I moved away to Hammond - There are several shops that are closer to me but it is worth the trip because I know the service and professionalism that is provided by Mark and his staff are exemplary.

Been taking my personal and company vehicles to this location for years, the man in charge (Mark) doesnt disappoint. Timely estimates, repairs that last, and at a price that puts other repair shops to shame. I guess the other folks on here with the 1 star ratings expect shoddy cheap repairs that only last a few weeks, shame people dont know the difference between quality work! Recommended to all family and friends, no bad reviews from them either!

I called in about a few questions about my car. The gentlemen that answered the phone was very helpful and really seems concerned about issues. I took my car straight over and boy was I in for a few surprises. Well after they checked my vehicle and seen that it was more than just the thermostat. I need a water pump and thermostat. I can truly say that the employees there are professional and I walked out of there a happy customer and most of all I had nice warm heat flowing through my car.. I would highly recommend them and will return with any car problems I may have. Keep up the good works guys!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS TO GET ANYTHING DONE TO YOUR CAR!!!! My husband and I took I car their took get fixed. Apparently some wires werent working and the car became inoperable. They charged us $200 to fix it. That was fine with us, we were desperate and we needed our car to work. However, a few days later, the engine stared making a sound of steel banging against itself. It sounded TERRIBLE!!! We decided not to take it back because we know they had purposely broke something for us to come back. Instead we went APEX QUALITY MUFFLER AND BRAKES and they fixed the problem. No complaints!!! Its been over a month.

Had some work done bout a week ago Oil leak breaks rotors and so far so good. Took a minute for them to look at my car, but it was around noon and busy. All and all good work good prices and friendly staff. I believe his name was mark. Ill be going back to finish the rest of the work i need done.

The service from these guys is great. You better get there early though, because everyone else seems to also know how great they are.

Terrible service this place took our money told us our car was ready when we arrived parts hanging all out then says we need to keep your car till friday mind you this is wed the day before the 4th of july!!! Which our family was hosting this year in the park now we have to call our entire family and cancel the entire THING!!! I ask for our money back until the service was complete or give us some of the many back, the employee tells me No! He sent it out after we had just put it in his hand! So they couldnt accomadate my family in any way, then proceeds to say have a nice Holiday upon us leaving! Worse service EVER! And a BIG INCONVENIENCE TO MY ENTIRE FAMILY!, also...the owner lies and says he cant return our money because the owner is out of town. When clearly we were speaking to the owner himself.. he lacked integrity and professionalism... who in fact replied to this review. Who takes someones money for a service that was never performed!

My brake had been acting up for a little while and I was bothered. Went in to have it checked and they changed the parts in little to no time. My car is screeching anymore anytime I brake. Excellent customer service. I was very impressed

I would give zero stars if I could, I went in 7 months ago and had my rack and pinion done (they claimed it was a new part and they also do not use mechanics gloves) now 7 months later it sprung a leak my mechanic pulled it off somehow my new part has a mechanics glove shoved into the seal and is rusted completely out in only 7 months. The same time I had this job done we had a fan replaced the owner claimed my fan was bad bc the last guy beat the heck out of the nut but then proceeded to do the same to my new one, I had to fight to get the shady work fixed I noticed the shady work instantly bc I had a check engine light and poor running car only after they worked on it. Stay away they are shady.

Wow what an experience!! Brought a magazine and headphones for what I thought would be a long tedious wait. I never read the mag or listened to the tunes as the service was friendly and the work was done so quickly......and under what I expected to pay....They showed me the problem and recommended fix and executed flawlessly...5 Stars to Mark and his crew!

Levin quoted me over $700 and 5 hours of labor for a new brake line, so I got out of there, went to USA, and they did BOTH lines for well under half the price and I was out of there in an hour. I really needed it done for a job that evening and they came through and saved the day. Lifesavers.

Worst place ever ill never take my vehical there again spent thousands on repair and back multiple times w having it break down over n over and still same problem also had front end balljoints rotors control arms and 3 and days later had to bring to a diffrent shop and have front end balljoint changed again and control arm beware they only no mufflers and breaks dont bring your car there unless you want get ripped off

Quick honest service. MARK was very professional. Also he understood it was just a old beater work car and knew i didnt want to stick alot of money into it. I feel he put me back on the road as cheap as he could. Cause i didnt want to replace a entire exaust system on a old car i was just looking to get another 50 thousand miles out of. Got my rear end done here on my 96 Silverado and was having problems a few weeks into having it done. After 2 months into it was still having problems, I had the problem fully inspected and come to find out the people that they bought the rear end from ended up giving them a bad rear end. So they fixed the problem and Im back rolling. Even put a few new parts on there for free. Thanks guys

This guy is a rip off. He scammed every customer that was here while we were waiting. He up sold every single job in person or on the phone. Not one job was bid right, all required extra work over the job was started. Its people like this that give mechanics a bad name. Dont go to this place unless you want to be robbed!!

Been here a few times this year and will never go back. First 2 times had a decent experience..... brakes and rotors were fixed, car ran good. Third time had some front end work done, ok cool. He said i should get an alignment which i knew was a good idea. Drove the car home and it was pulling to the right still. I decided to take the $60 loss and not complain. I guess something should have clicked when i saw a customer come in and complain but i decided to give the place another go. Long story short, car was running rough, acting like it would shut off. Mark said ok 100 to check it out which would go toward the bill if i got it fixed there. needed a good tune up plugs etc. Fixed....pulled off after paying 475, got halfway down the street, i have all kinds of lights on all of a sudden . Abs traction control plus numerous messages on my info screen which all i had was a check tire light when i brought it in. Immediately went back, thought maybe they forgot to plug something back up. He ran a diagnosis and even lifted the car up. Still no explanation for what happened. He pointed out some wires that looked like they were cut years ago and said it was taped. All i know is that before i brought it in, i had no lights or messages except the one. He suggested it was nothing they had done but it has to be wiring issues and said for another $100 and a few hours of my time they can figure it out. Its 11am i work midnights. been up almost 24 hours and you want me to pay for something that your workers obviously got wrong or messed up?! Originally i told him i will be back. But after thinking about it you know what, i wont be back. I like mark he seems to be a good guy. But i seriously think that its unfair. At least say hey we can check it out for free then charge if it wasnt something we did. Its the least you can do when i just spent almost 500, just to pull off with more problems than when i pulled in. Same thing someone complained about last time i was there. .. All and all did they fix the original problem? Yes. Its running very good. But now i have electrical problems which no doubt this place was the cause of.. 2 stars is generous because out of 4 times i went there only twice totally satisfied. . go at your own risk.......Update to reply to the owner. If the tune up only requires you to go under the hood and if nothing under my hood has something to do with my abs, then why did they show me the wires under my hood, saying that they might have something to do with the abs? Then why did they lift my car saying maybe they left something loose? Now i feel like i was being scammed or someone doesnt know what they are talking about!
