Upon arrival, I was greeted by the recepetionist Destiny, she was so nice and good phone etiquette. When I made the appointment online I chose any available staff to wax my eyebrows because I was in a time crunch. Well, let me start by saying I will NOT be coming back. I would rather look like a wolf then come back here! The girl (name started with a C) that did my eyebrows, literally waxed off a small part of my skin between my eyebrows! Also, I already had the shape of my eyebrows and I told her Just a clean up NOT Wax Wax my entire end of my left eyebrow!! I went to a birthday event that same night and it looks the end of my eyebrow doesnt even exist! On top of that, after I left, went back to work at the office, I still had pieces of wax around my eyebrows! You literally get what you pay for.

But had to do it today ..Let me strat by saying I am a regular at this place..Not a fan of the last receptionist said things in a rude manner on the phone... during checkout..never said anything like thank you..have a good day when she was done taking my payment..didnt care to ask if I needed my receipt.. which I did.. just started talking to someone else.. I had to ask if I was good to go .. The person that did my wax Alicia as always does a great job very professional ..always asks if your comfortable and if your happy w her work.. Ive had wax done by other ppl and she has been the best..

Torn over this experience... I was here two years ago and had a WONDERFUL experience!BUT...The waxing was done poorly and the communication was bad/uncomfortable. I left with wax (and hair) all over me and I had her stop before she was done because she was hurting me. (I have had waxing done before ) And when I told her the wax was hot she said it was because I was sensitive.... I saw her pull it directly from the warmer to her cup without letting it cool she put it right on me. Will NOT go back to Julliana.

I have been to the Pelham location, and I was happy with my experience. My daughter works close to downtown, so I suggested she try this location. She said that her tech was great, but, she was extremely upset over the way she was treated by the receptionist, Destiny.

Ive been getting Brazilians here for almost a year and the staff here have been spectacular every time. I usually see Celina who is fantastic, but everyone that I see here is great.

I went to get a Brazilian and wow worst place ever. I don’t remember her name but I got home and my underwear was stuck to me Bc of the wax and I’m 100% sure that’s not supposed to happen and then when I actually checked there was still hair everywhere after she went over the same spot several times which made the area turn red and inflamed. You would think after going over it so many times…

I have had both Carolina and Brook and they are both FANTASTIC. Ive been getting waxes at various places for years and waxes from Rio Body Wax have always been the highest quality and least painful ones Ive experienced. Theyre also just really nice people!

Rio is very clean and the staff I encountered were professional and personable. The wax was done well and was thorough. I will definitely use Rio agin!

This is my first time being waxed so my frame of reference is small but I will say that I came in for sugaring after a bunch of internet research, Julianne seemed to try to talk me about of sugaring. It wasn’t until it was mostly over that I had the feeling she may just not have a lot of experience doing it because right near the end she ‘Bruised’ my skin. I remember exactly when it happened because it was WAY MORE painful than the rest of the waxing. She told me that it would go away in 2 days but it’s now Saturday and my skin is still damaged and very tender. She also told me there would still be some hair but there’s is hair everywhere still. I don’t think that’s normal. I would like management to reach out.

Highly recommend Carolina for your wax. I’ve tried 3 ladies and she’s my favorite. The others would not apply any aloe after waxing, which felt quite unprofessional as I’ve always had aloe applied at the other rio body wax I’ve been to. It’s also feels unfinished with it as there is nothing to calm the skin (Brazilian wax). Carolina is by far the best lady at this place. Friendly, clean, kind. She cares about you and makes waxing a quick and agreeable moment.

They canceled my wifes waxing appointment and was very rude about it. Very unhelpful with the whole situation. Specifically this Rio. Other Rios have been just fine in the past but this was a terrible experience for her. So appointments at other Rios were booked up, so she tried European Waxed Center and it was so much better. Shell be going there for now on. Customer service is everything.

Had an appointment at 9 am with Alicia, the waxer I scheduled with was not on time so 9:20 comes and the receptionist notified me that I would have to reschedule due to waxer not being there and saying my appointment would be cutting into other appointments. big inconvenience and a waste of time. I should have been notified when I walked in that the waxer was running late and it may be a possibility of having to reschedule. I did not know it would make me have to cancel or reschedule my appointment due to waxer being late. will never return to this location again.

I received my first wax here. I was super nervous but she Celina kept my talking and was fast. Not sure if it’s normal but I have tons of tiny bumps now which isn’t normal for me. Just hoping they go away and with no ingrowns. I don’t ever get those so I really don’t know how to tell.

Gracie gave me one of the best waxes that I’ve ever had. She did a really nice and clean job. It didn’t hurt as much as most of them do. I honestly couldn’t find one hair left over and it was really smooth. I’ll be going back in 4 weeks to try sugaring. Of course, I’ll request Gracie.

I really enjoyed visiting this wax studio. Everyone was friendly upon my arrival. Waiting room was appealing and clean. Individual wax rooms were also aesthetically appealing. Quick and efficient. Will return!

I have been going to Rio for about a year and always had a great experience. However, the last time I went the girl got a glob of wax in my hair.. She panicked and started using a comb to try to get it out,. I could hear my hair breaking. There was no apology.. I told her to just leave it and I would get it out at home ( lots of work but it finally came out) I have been getting waxed for almost 20 years, every single time, I have received either witch hazel or aloe on the area. There was none applied or even offered. Not sure if the girl was new but I will make sure I never book with her again. I know accidents happen but the issue was the was it was handled ( or rather, not handled)

1st time getting waxed, they lady was awesome and nice, and she helped with the 1st time pain. However, after getting home I realized she missed a few spots. After calling them they scheduled a touch up and it went very well. Hopefully this was just a one time oops.

I called to inform the manager that I was burned during a Brazilian wax and had to go to the doctor for treatment. I was told by the receptionist at the time that I would get a call back. Nothing. Then I called to follow up and was told the manager tried to reach me. I have no voicemail or no missed calls from a number that hasn’t been blocked. I was told yet again that I would hear from the manager. It’s been over a month since this ordeal and I am still receiving treatment for my burns. You would think a call of concern or anything would be warranted. I know my business means less than nothing to you and your organization but I definitely won’t be back and I’ll definitely make sure to spread the word.

The quality of my wax is Amazing, Brooke is absolutely fantastic at what she does! She is highly recommended. The cleanliness of the Facility is great as well!The two stars are due to the fact that the Receptionist don’t speak English well, I have only been coming to this location after switching from the Anderson location for about four months now and I have already had three appointment errors which is unacceptable. It’s very frustrating to make an appointment make time out of my schedule to show up for my appointment to not actually have an appointment, or my appointment is on a different day and a different month.

I wasn’t going to review but they will not stop emailing me to review. The receptionist was very confusing and not helpful and it wasn’t that sanitary. They put the wax in little Dixie cups and use a crock pot for a warmer? I have been getting waxed for over 3 years so I’m pretty experienced and usually don’t feel any discomfort after the wax but with this place i did. It also felt like a hospital room, very cold and not welcoming. My wax lady was at-least nice! I don’t recommend but if you do go there give them a fake email so they don’t email you every day.

This is a basement wax salon, but dont let that worry you. Its clean and decorative and provides a soothing environment. I visited as a walk in. They saw me within 10 minutes or less. The lady I saw treated me with kindness and was very thorough. The prices are excellent, and service was excellent. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I thought the pillows were horrendous. Lumpy, weak cushion under you head. Not comfortable. But otherwise. I loved my visit and Im very happy with my wax job. I will go back despite the awful pillows. 😁

I got a bikini wax on my lunch break. With an appointment I waited 10 minutes and overall I spent 30 minutes in the shop. It’s basement level so nice and private. My sensitive skin did not break out, and I was so smooth for 3 weeks. I will definitely return.

The lady at the front desk is very rude! Other than that the lady who did my wax is great and I loved my experience. If it not had been for the lady who did my wax doing so great I would have not came back to this location. Terrible front desk receptionist.

I was most impressed with Rios. I have never been waxed before and I decided to get everything but the tops of my arms waxed.. I was able to make appointment same day and later in the evening since I work 9 to 5. I saw Dagmar and she was AMAZING. She made me feel comfortable and she helped me with my breathing to control the pain! I was very impressed in how quick it was and how smooth everything feels. She was very personable and made it a pleasant ecperience. I was nervous going in but now I am excited to go back. I feelVery beautiful and clean. I recommend waxing to very woman!

The only con was finding the place which really isn’t a con. Everything was amazing I had Allison and she was very detailed and walk me through step by step on what she was doing and how painful or painless each part would be. I always go to see Brooke for my waxing needs - shes friendly, quick, and always does a good job. I get in and out quickly enough to take advantage of the city garages free 1 hour of parking. The prices are good too, especially compared to places Ive been in the past.I did have one slightly negative experience, and while it wasnt massive its stuck with me - the owner was seemingly conducting a phone interview in her office with the door open, and she was very loud. I didnt really want to hear that conversation and listen to her lecture the applicant on the business and her rules.

Went while on Xmas vacation in SC, Tempest waxed me. I got both a Brazilian and underarm wax for $35.. Tempest was very welcoming and made my wax as painless as possible, because after all its a wax so its gonna hurt at least a little bit. Different wax from what Im used to, however, I have no complaints.. Ask for Tempest, she knows her stuff!!!

Always a great experience, haven’t been disappointed at all, I LOVE Brooke, she’s the best, I don’t feel pain at all, this last time I actually felt so relax and the warm wax felt so good on my face, I only thing I would like to suggest to the owner will be considering changing or making the tables more comfortable, hey I’m not getting any younger and my lower back hurts after lying for over 20 minutes on a hard table but other than that no complaints at all, I even used the restroom this time and it was impecable

Great experience today. I have been waxing for 9 months now and stumbled upon Rio while visiting family in Anderson and so glad I did! My brazilian with Dagmar was great. Of course it was not painless but she was quick, personable and gave me helpful advice on how to care for my skin and eyebrows (since they were destroyed by waxing in nail salons). The results were well worth the 15 min, not a hair left behind! The salon was clean and relaxing with enclosed rooms for privacy. Infection was good, she used a disposable cup for the wax vs dipping a stick in the pot, so that was good to see. I recommend Rio!

When I called to schedule the appointment, I of course had a few questions that the receptionist seemed annoyed by she also had poor customer service and manners. I scheduled an appointment for 3- recieved a confirmation text of 3pm but upon arrival the receptionist said it was 330 and asked who i spoke with- I told her i wasn’t sure but whoever it was wasn’t very friendly. She made sure to acknowledge that it was her i spoke with and still had the same unfriendly manner and explained that somehow she wasn’t sure why the computer said 330 now. Either way as a first time customer i was hoping for a much better experience as i had with my previous waxing salon. Overall the experience after booking and check in was great because Kededra was awesome but that first interaction sets a mood for the appointment.

Dagmar knows what she is doing! She is from Brazil and she makes it as painless and quick as possible! It only hurts immediately, but Dagmar does it right so afterward it should not hurt. Listen to what Dagmar tells you, it will save you pain and give you better results :)

It had been some time since I got a Brazilian, but she kept talking and distracted me during it, making it as painless as possible. Follow up visits are great! Shes very friendly and fun to talk to. Ive also had her do my eyebrows (shes a pro at making them perfect!) and lip and couldnt ask for a better esthetician!
