Has been working great. I have had it for about two months and has only gone out two times and I called right away and got it fixed. I live way out in the county so that’s okay! Only thing I wish was different was the price!! My neighbors pay way less with other company’s I’m just scared to change because I want good wifi.

I had left my name number for them to contact me when they were in my area. They called and left a message and were quick to respond to my call back, in setting up an appointment for the installation and getting everything ready to go. They were so helpful and gladly answered all my questions. The service has been incredibly better than our previous provider!! And for about half the price too!! Would recommend them to anyone in range!

I have only been a customer for a week. We had a tower outage on day 3, which was a Saturday night. Customer service was not available to talk to until Monday morning. It would have been nice to get an email or text from Bug Tussel informing us that there was an outage and they are working to get it fixed. Or at least a recorded message at the customer service number explaining there was a problem with a certain tower. The WIFI is working well, but I feel Bug Tussel needs better communication to their customers when there is a problem on their end.Other than that, I dont have anything bad to say about the service. The young man that installed was courteous and professional.Again I have only been a customer for a short period of time. Get back to me in 6 months, I might have better insight at that time.

Our installer was very profession and helpful. He worked through several technical challenges with a new Bug Tussle tower, and physical challenges of our site getting the service set up, but he hung in there and got the job done. The service itself is excellent! We’ve gone from paying for 15 Mbs (and getting less than 1 - 6) to paying for 25 Mbs with Bug Tussle (and consistently getting 23 -25). Upload speeds are spectacular as well. So, Bug Tussle is hitting the right buttons by delivering speed and consistency! Our sales representative was really great too! He reached out promptly when we inquired about service, and followed up without being pesky.

Bug Tussel is building a tower in front of my property in conjunction with AT&T. Bug Tussel is in charge of site acquisition, has been uncommunicative, and will not stick to their word. I have called twice and waited a month to speak to them about the current problems and have been ignored.-We declined to have the tower on our land, so they went to our neighbors and signed a contract to build directly in front of us, despite acres of other available land. A rival company is already in the area and did not need to build an eye-sore tower to achieve the same results.-The Site Acquisitioner could barely answer any questions at the Town Hall meeting, all of the details were extremely vague, and we were made many assurances that the tower being built would not interfere with our own land, lives, and work.-We were assured a turn-around so that the construction workers would not go onto our land. There has been no turn-around, trucks have used our land to turn around, created large ruts in our grass, and now block the road. It is very important that the road remain open due to our own need for heavy equipment to get onto our farm land.I have tried to fix this situation multiple times in private. If Bug Tussel would be so kind as to keep just one of the assurances made to me I will rescind this review. You have my information. Thank you.Edit: There has been no resolution to the issue. BBB has been contacted.

I was told it was oversold...even if it wasnt. And i was not told i had a poor signal. And internet worked great for the first year and then declined🙁

We had this service the end of last year for our seasonal camper in Wisconsin Dells. The service was just ok but at least we had something. We were on the seasonal program which de-activates service for the winter months for a minimal charge each month. At the end of winter we replaced our camper and deck which required us to remove our antenna and directv dish. We contacted the installer Star Communications to arrange to pay them for their time to put both back up. There was a trip charge plus additional hours for Star Communications which was reasonable. Star communications called us back and told us that Bugtussle will be charging us an ADDITIONAL $89 for installation over the hours and Star had no control over that.In this case I would be paying twice for the installation? Thought that was odd so I called Bugtussle and asked if anything could be done, they said no, that was just how it would be.So needless to say I cancelled Bugtussle. I am not being double charged to have the antenna put back up.Be careful, customer service does not seem to be this companies strong point.*Note my response to Bugtussle below:No, DirecTV was not charging me.This was NOT a re-install. Simply hanging the 2 antennas back up and pointing them from our remodeling. Installers have a simple hourly fee and its very reasonable. It would have cost me only $25 more in their time to hang the Bugtussle antenna. PER YOUR AGENT, not the installer you would ADD an almost $90 fee over and above what it would have cost me. So it cost you this customer and possibly more as they ready this review.

Very very upset with Bug Tussel. My family called Bug Tussel about a week ago to see if we could get service. The following day two men in blue polo shirts were outside our apartment as my hubby was leaving for work they said Carson Dennis We are from Bug Tussel Wireless and we were checking to see if you can get a signal and you definitely can. We see your neighbors already have Bug Tussel and we can now support all of Hilbert Wi. They scheduled the installation for today. So today here comes the installer he tells us he is checking for signal and none of there towers reach our building. I said Ok well the guys who came out a few days ago said they could hook us up. Then this guy tells me I find that hard to believe so basically he is calling me a liar. Then I said I dont understand how my neighbors have Bug Tussel and he seemed shocked. He said oh I dont know where their antenna is.? I told him its on the roof I think then he told me that bug Tussel doesnt put antennas on the roof anymore without a 240 dollar fee. I dont mind being told they cant service us. I do mind being called a liar and told two completely different stories. I cant speak to how well their internet works but I can tell you the customer service from the installation people leaves a lot to be desired.

Let me begin by explaining I am very computer literate and all of my personal equipment is current and is regularly updated so I know it is not me and my equipment or a virus. I live in the Town of Forest and I am one of the first customers on Bugtussel when it came to my area 3 years ago. Constant POOR connection and speeds, not getting what I am paying for and for what is advertised. I was sold this by Yvonne and she said I have an excellent signal and should not have problems getting the 4 Meg plan speeds. At first, yes it was true and was pretty stable for the first year. Now after they oversold their towers, for the past 2 years it is so much worse and is getting worse. At times, it wont even connect or has many drop offs. I have repeatedly emailed and called in to report it to Bugtussel. I was told at least 4 different times, by different reps, that the towers were going to be upgraded within the next year, so I waited to see it happen. My last call last month, I was told I have a poor signal and there are NO PLANS to upgrade the towers (St. Peter one on Cody Road or the one on Walnut Road outside Mt. Calvary). Wow!!! Now, because their tower can no longer handle the 4 Meg plan for me, I have been repeatedly put down to the 2 Meg plan. Even with that plan change, which uses less Bugtussel resources, I am lucky to even get connected on a long term basis and I experience speeds at 0.25 Meg. Then all of the sudden when no one else in the area is probably not on the internet, I can get close to 2 Megs that I am paying for. My speed comparisons and issues happen even on the clearest days, no wind, no rain, etc. I have direct line of sight to the towers. T-Mobile offers a FREE SIGNAL BOOSTER antennae if you get a weak signal, why wouldnt Bugtussel offer that. Why is Bugtussel still selling the service to new customers when it is clear their original current customers cannot get the service they were promised? Also, I have talked to many other Bugtussel customers in the holyland area and in the Ripon Brandon area and they have the same complaint, was good at first and now it sucks, some were told by the techs/reps that the towers are overloaded. When will this be fixed? If not fixed, time for Bugtussel to start refunding money to us for services paid for but not receiving. No, I dont want to call in again to discuss or live chat or email, I want Bugtussel to respond with an honest answer to these issues multiple users have for everyone to see, no more lies or misleading advertisements. You have enough info here to respond to it honestly.

The service in our area (Fox Lake, WI tower) is absolutely terrible. We are located East of the city of Waupun. Extremely unreliable and extremely frustrating. We basically have to call in to tech service each and every time we want to use the internet so they can reset something. The reset is done and things work great for a few hours, maybe an entire day if we are so lucky. Then....dropped service or extremely slow service always comes. They seem to be content with us calling everyday because they do nothing to rectify the problem. Different excuse from their techs each time we call in. Bad router, computer virus, tower equipment needs upgrade (so do it!!!), signal interference, radios randomly switching back and forth, you name it we have heard it. Neighbor one mile down the road has the same exact problems and the same responses which confirms where the problems lie. I can not BELIEVE that other reviewers have given this service/product more than one star but then again maybe the service does work in other areas.

After years of paying high end bills for limited internet service ($100+/month), I was extremely happy to see a bug tussel car drive down our back road, in which I waved him down and became a customer immediately after finding out I would only be paying a fraction of what I was paying for limited internet (through huges net), and now have unlimited!Since having Bug Tussel our internet has not gone out die to snow, storms or clouds, as it had with our previous provider.Needless to say our family is very happy with the service, speed and most defiantly the cheap cost! I would highly recommend!

Living in the middle of nowhere, the only options I initially had for Internet service 9 years ago were dial-up and satellite (the devil). When Bug Tussel popped up several years ago with service off of a tower approx 1 mile from my house, I was so excited! Yes, the max speed available at the time was only 2Mbps (now 4Mbps) and it is more expensive relative to the options people who arent so rural have BUT I am so glad I have Bug Tussel as my provider.I really dont know how large the company is but they certainly have a very, very small company feel and are extremely responsive. I hope this never changes! On the rare occasions there is an issue with my service, I can call their Support line and a human answers almost immediately. I report no service off my tower (Ive already done troubleshooting internal to my own network so I know its them) and within 1 min I am told if they are already aware of it or not. If not, they acknowledge the issue (they are not just phone monkeys) and relay that info to their techs and the issue is resolved very fast. I can probably count on one hand how many times Ive had service interruptions in the last few years.Their structure for sales is a bit different than most ISPs in that they utilize community members as independent sales reps. Id found out about Bugtussel via an ad hanging on my doorknob one day. Pretty quaint and a model I appreciate.Their employees? They are amazing! Always so nice and responsive! Im talking a reply to an email inquiry from me in less than 1/2 hour (usually within mins and during business hours, of course).Continuing on the small company feel, they only recently (6 months?) implemented an online bill access and payment option. Everything prior to that was done via mail and checks. The online system is very bare bones with no special features or bells/whistles. You can see your bill and pay your bill, thats pretty much it but it works. If I had any wish it would be that faster plan options become available in the future.Thank goodness companies like this exist to help us poor souls who really have no other high speed internet options.
