We wanted to support local businesses so we went to Sid Hall Floors and we are happy with the final product. But most of all we were impressed with the responsiveness and attention given to our project by Michael from start to finish. I had an old carpet removed from our basement and scraped up two layers of old vinyl tiles; we wanted something to brighten up the basement and also keep the moisture down. Michael recommended the luxury vinyl tiles (Home Legend/Eagle Creek SPC) and these have totally changed the appearance and atmosphere of our basement. Michael was honest with his estimate of how much cement may be required to level our floor enough to install the tiles, and he gave us a price range so I would be prepared for the high end of the final cost. This was a reasonable way to do business and better than just being surprised later. The tile job was completed over the course of two days; the installation was done with great attention to detail, down to cutting small returns for the molding where it ended at corners in our basement (change from Ogee Wall Base to black vinyl strip around washer/dryer/sink area), and Im sure most contractors wouldnt have gone to that extra effort. First we did the floor, then, we did the carpet leading downstairs. I ripped off the old carpet to save labor costs, and the new carpet was put down. When I had a question about the final appearance of the carpet, Michael agreed to do some additional finishing work at no cost. Although this was honestly due to the irregularities of the walls and steps in my house and not due to the carpet installation, Michael volunteered to provide and install some molding to cover up a gap that had become more noticeable when we changed from the old dark carpet to the new lighter shade. I certainly wouldnt expect most other contractors to offer to do this at no charge, but Michael could tell we werent just being picky - he knew we were happy with the basement tiles but not fully satisfied with the appearance of the stairwell, and he considered it part of his overall responsibility to finish the work to standard. Throughout the entire process, Michael was always available by email and phone, or by walking down to his shop. I was impressed to learn that Sid Hall has been around for 50 years serving the Bayside through Great Neck community, and Im glad we went with them. Michael is a man of integrity and service; he did what he said he would do, on time. There were no hidden costs. He looked out for our health and safety as well as the aesthetic aspect of the project.

I was referred to Sids by my contractor and was told it was the best place to go for flooring. I live around the area so my wife and I dropped by. We were greeted by Mike and he made us feel very comfortable as he showed us around different floor tiles. We have not never gotten tiles before so having Mike be patient with us and answer our many questions was a big help for us. He didn’t rush us but helped us take the sample tiles out from the rack and put them on the floor under different lightening for review. The process was all smooth after that. He worked directly with my contractor and everything was delivered on time. We were so pleased that we went back to Sids for carpet. Mike was pleasant as usual and he stayed with me the whole time finding a carpet we liked. The installer actually just came today and the work is awesome. I got a followup call from Mike right after, which I appreciate so much since that shows that he cares and stands by the work. 2020 could not possibly get any worse, until.....Had to redo our basement flooring after a flood. Sid Hall was recommended by a neighbor. Hands down one of the most pleasant experiences we have had. Michael is patient, knowledgeable and honest. Rare traits. He suggested this beautiful vinyl flooring. His guys came and installed within two days. Absolutely amazing job. I came to this store as a result of their 5 star reviews, and after using their services, feel compelled to leave my own 5* review. These guys are not just trying to make a sell. They stand by their reputation and clearly are not going to sell you, or install, a carpet that wont work. I wanted a stair runner and was given the advice that if the walls were not straight, a runner would only accentuate that fact. I took two carpet samples from the store and thankfully, when Michael came to the home to measure, my walls were good and I made my preferred choice of carpet. On fitting day, Alex, the carpet fitter, was diligently cutting the runner, when I noticed he was actually cutting my 2nd choice, an unfortunate mistake. While Alex was returning to the shop to retrieve the correct carpet, I received a very apologetic call from Michael. I understood, mistakes happen and I really did not feel it was any big issue. I mentioned to Michael that I should have perhaps kept the cut carpet to use on my attic stairway in the future. Alex returned, and did a first class installation on my stairwell. I have 2 turns in my stairwell and the runner was cut and turned to perfection. After 15 years with the company, Alex obviously still has a passion for his craft and I was thoroughly satisfied. On calling the store to settle my bill, Michael very generously gave me at no cost, the carpet runner that they had cut by mistake, to use on my attic when the time came. In conclusion (as this is going on a bit), I can only say that these guys went above and beyond. If you want a quality carpet and fitting, dont hesitate to go to Sid Hall Floors. Look, I have no real idea the disruption made by Covid and the New York lockdown had on businesses. I do know it was very difficult to buy a home during it. We went to the carpet store and had plenty of time to look through all the carpet samples for my staircase. Bruce made some practical suggestions about color, material and wearability. He ordered several samples from those that II chose to be mailed to my home so I could see how they blended with the walls and furniture. After I chose one, he ordered the carpet. When the carpet layer came, he spent over 4 hours doing a meticulous job and cleaned up everything afterward. I couldnt have been more pleased !

About 2 years ago, we used Sid Hall Floors to sand and re-finish the floor of one of our bedrooms.This year, we used them again; on 3 different projects. On the first project, they removed an old carpet and installed a new one in a hallway and stairs. The second project involved sanding and re-finishing the kitchen wooden floor. A few months ago, the third project, required removing the old carpet in the dining room, sanding the wooden floor, fixing some bad flooring strips, and re-finishing the floor. To complicate things, a very old up-right piano (very heavy) had to be moved to another room, and then moved back without damaging the finished floor. All went well. The crew was excellent, the store people (Michael and Bruce) were great.In a few months, we will use them again to do our living room floor. Thats 4 projects, plus a new one to come ..

What can I say other than go to Sid Hall if you want someone client service oriented and receptive and sensitive to your needs and requests. Easy to work with and trustworthy. Picking out carpeting is no easy task but Mike makes it an enjoyable process.

Michael at Sid Hall Floors is a pleasure to work with on selecting carpets. He guided me through the process and the area rugs in our living, dining and hallways are beautiful and the wall to wall in the bedrooms is lush and comfy. I highly recommend using Sid Hall for your flooring needs.

The owners of Sid Hall gave us a great price on our rugs for the living room and bedrooms.They did a great job, their workmen were extremely polite and cleaned up well after the job. I would highly recommend them as they have a great selection, are easy to work with and very competitive in the Great Neck, Port Washington and Little Neck area.

Upon visiting the Sid Hall Floors store on Northern Blvd in Great Neck, I was astounded by the quality of their carpeting. I was, however, more impressed with their knowledgable staff and was completely blown over by their professional installation. The best part of all was how the carpet looks and feels. Theyre the best!

This is the place to go if you need any kind of flooring. I have used them twice, first time for carpet when I bought a co-op 11 years ago, and again for LVP Vinyl flooring now that I bought a home. I installed the flooring myself, but Bruce and Michael gave me great advice every step of the way and even gave me a spare piece of wood I needed to patch my subfloor. Next time I need flooring, this is where Im going.

We needed carpet for our new home and looked everywhere, especially the big guy stores. you know, the ones that are ruining individually owned businesses. their prices were no less than when we visited sid hall carpet and the customer service was practically nil. we ended up working with mike and bruce, the owners of sid hall who personally visited our home while the installation was going on to make sure all was going well. they are great guys to work with, had beautiful selections and respected our budget. i definitely recommend visiting them .
