Nice store, product is fairly low but considering the California lock down for over a year the stores are still running with less staff. Good job! Cashier was really friendly

After shopping Penn Valley store for a year nice people clean organized helpfull happy. This store need some work. But im thankful its there.

Only Tracfone dealer left in Grass Valley. Only one model in stock in mid-April 2021; a $30 smartphone. Cashier has to fetch it with a key from the middle of the store.

The friendliness of the staff is the ONLY reason this place is getting 3 stars. Everytime I go in, day or night, the shelves are always more than half empty with the stocking carts full & blocking the isles. Seems like theyre perpetually understaffed & cant stock the shelves quickly enough. I Am grateful to see that they have Senior Shopping Hours. Good call on management with that policy. But please, hire more people!

Mckenna and Sarah were absolutely wonderful and helped me achieve exactly what I needed even though it was difficult and not something they normally have to do. Very patient and friendly. Absolutely will always get my balloons filled here

They always have what I need when it comes to my chores around the house or getting a quick snack something to drink maybe even something to keep me warm because I forgot my sweater.

Great place to get some of your basic items such as milk, butter, soap and pet food. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Its a great quick stop for necessary things.

Go there twice a month to check out new product arrivals. Items change a lot. They always have something we need.

Ok. Its really not the least expensive place to shop although they would have you believe it is. But if you shop eclectically you can get some great deals. Like those 6 volt big square batteries for those large camping flashlights? They are like $2.50 here and theyre at least 3 times that elsewhere. Theres a lot of deals like that here. Just know you will be going to more than one store to fill your list.

I rate this store 3/5 solely based on the upper management who would control the amount of employees on the floor to assist in checking customers out, answering phones, throwing up freight that sits on carts for days. As far as the store & its inventory, I cherry pick this store since the store doesnt have produce or a large selection of cold or frozen foods. Basics in that area. Overall it is on my list for a 1st stop store as the items they do have are cheaper than others in town.

Just what youd expect product wise, but a very slow check out line. The clerk was very nice when we finally got to purchase our items.

It was a little disorganized and the shelves were kind of empty in areas but the cashier was very friendly. The prices werent great...I was hoping for a real dollar store.

Dollar General has everything for the home cheaper by 1/2 than any other retailer in town, from cleaners to zip locks, its a great buy no matter what the item. Well worth the trip, everytime!!

The counter checkout areas need to be cleaned of clutter. No excuses! You cant even put your items on the table in a timely fashion. Same thing for the one in Penn Valley. Those are 2 big stores and you arent utilizing the space.

I like this place because the people are friendly, courteous & helpful. They always have a great deal on toilet paper. They always also have great deals on other things I buy. Last time I went there I got 3 bottles of gain liquid dish soap for 5 bucks. I love their dollar items. Also their shoes are cheap but mostly they are well made.

They have great prices & good merchandise.

I dont like to leave bad feed back but this place is just.... bad. The place was a mess, worst Ive ever seen. Stuff just torn up and thrown around. Boxes clogged up the aisles. Just an absolute mess. Not to mention its like a tweeker take over in there. Thank God for social distancing. I wont find a reason to go back. Ever. The girl at check out was nice enough though.

Prices are good but the place is a mess. Shelves were blocked with large carts of merchandise needing to be put away. Also watch the register because some of the prices on the shelves dont ring up the same. Dont get overcharged!

One of the nicer Dollar Generals Ive visited. Its clean and organized. As for the 3 stars, the carts were always outside and scattered at the very back of the parking lot, the u-boats were scattered throughout the store making it hard to get or even see what i was looking for, and the staff was less than helpful. They either didnt know where stuff was located or they just pointed in the general direction. Not how it like my store run at all.

The chain is good for good deals on cleaners and diapers. Not really for food. As for this specific store I like the employees friendly attitude. But they seem to not be very organized because Everytime I go in, there always seems to be unpacked boxes in the middle of an isle or something has been priced wrong or mens and womens clothes mixed together or sized mixed up. Just seems to me that if you want to make money than organized and clean isles are always the best ways to keep customers coming back and buying.

Store is in need of a reset and more focus on the shelves space and space opportunity to have a better flow of merchandise and keep things full and a flow going. There were good products but not a very good amount. One of each of certain items. The staff memeber who helped me wasnt very hopeful at all. No one greets you or welcomes you or offers help.

Its 5 days till Christmas, and had no xmas paper or Stocking!However I am disabled, barely walk, asked the teller, could I get help putting all the heavy full bags in my trunk. He mumbled, never got help

This was the biggest Dollar General I had ever been and yet still managed to disappoint. Store was chaotic. They were tryin to get products put away and I completely understand that but they could have kept it tidy and neat. The aisle setup and product placement made no sense. Not enough cashiers on duty even with a store full of employees who only stocked shelves. After walking around trying to guess and treasure hunt the items I needed and having only found 3 of them from my list of 15 to 20 items ..I gave up, defeated and annoyed. Upon reaching the line for checkout I found the cashiers slow to the point of lethargy, rude, annoying and lacking social and customer skills. I wont say I will never return but definitely will take a no choice visit and no list just in and out ...Fast

I love going there things are very reasonable. I can find things there that I cant find elsewhere. There customer service needs improvement. The people that work there even if they dont like working there they need to learn to fake it.

The store is MUCH needed and appreciated, but customer service is faulty, specifically in management, the store is always messy, very rarely stocked and what you do need tends to be sitting in its shipping box in the middle of aisle.

For the most part they have everything I need the shelfs had just best stocked but they were still stocking, met the manager and she was great very helpful and very nice.

Prices seem low except that you get what you pay for. I found better prices on same items at the grocery store. Items are also either not priced correctly on shelf or badly stocked. There have been 3 occasions of an item being a different price at the register than what was labeled. Staff is also very unhelpful, unmotivated and not welcoming

Youll find everything here, at lower prices than almost anywhere else in town. Grocery Outlet will have some items at slightly better prices, but not nearly as large of selection, as Dollar General.

Dont get me wrong Dollar General is a great store. However there are not enough items for a dollar to allow these stores to call themselves Dollar anything! I myself am on disability as are so many others and I have talked to so many low income folks that say the same as I do that these stores although some limited items are a dollar the rest of everything is still way over priced for the quality. I only buy toilet paper, cat litter, and dry cat food there because everything else is too expensive. Grant you some of the sales are great but on average they are few and far between. If you have money this is the place for you! If you dont well you might want to take a the drive to Yuba City/Marysville and go to the 99 cent Only store you get the same stuff for $1.00 as advertised. Sorry Dollar General I hate to be a party poopers but its true.

They say theyre a dollar store, but almost nothing costs a dollar. Most products are priced higher than the neighboring grocery stores too.

Store was a complete mess. I wasnt able to get the sale items I went in for because the boxes of Halloween items were all still in crates blocking most of the Halloween isles. THIS WAS 2 DAYS BEFORE HALLOWEEN!

The store is pretty standard for all Dollar Generals. The cashiers are friendly and helpful.

Dollar General - why? They want to open three more stores here in Nevada County. Wednesday is our errands day. Around noon I counted nine (9) vehicles in their parking lot, and how many belonged to employees? That was the most vehicles Ive seen there. I did an impromptu survey and asked 22 people if they had gone to Dollar General and 17 said yes. Then I asked if they would go back and 16 said no. We do not need any more white elephants here in Nevada County.

Low prices. Always love shopping here.

Last time I went they were very kind to allowe to use phone for taxi.. Due to recent car trouble it made me feel so welcome.
