Jon is a master with stringed instruments! I brought my violin in that Ive had for 35ish years, it was coming apart at the seams, needed a new bridge, the tuning pegs filed down, a new sound post, a new tailpiece... and, stain to help with a bunch of nics and scratches. Needless to say, I now am in possession of a beautifully sounding violin with a renewed passion to play. Thank you Jon!!!

The Unparalleled String Shop is a place where music meets magic. Jon is a highly-skilled luthier who goes beyond what youd expect with a dedication to both his craft and the traditions it holds. He practices a traditional style of craftsmanship and woodworking that is not often found in the modern world. His careful attention to detail and intuition for what makes an instrument resonate is excellent, and it reflects in the sound of the instruments coming out of his shop. Moreover, you get a sense of timelessness in the shop, surrounded by instruments that are, in some cases, multiple centuries old. I bought an old (1920s or 30s) arch-top guitar that Jon repaired and refurbished. It sounds incredible and is sturdier than many acoustic guitars built today. I highly suggest that anybody who is at least interested in string instruments visit this shop is they can, it is truly a gem in the rough.

This will be too expensive to repair and it will cost more then buying a new guitar said the guitar salesman who then sold me a piece of crap. What do I know? I didnt even know what a luthier was back then. Luckily, I held onto my old guitar and found Jon Wondergem and The Unparalleled String Shop. Jons rates are affordable and he was trained by a master in the tradition. My guitar now plays better then when I first bought it. He can make any instrument sound the way it was meant to and is affordable!
