Great place to spend your day with historic Texas town. We took to and fro train ride to Fort Worth stockyard. Full mirror view from train was we never saw before. Staff is very helpful and answer all your questions. Get your boarding pass from station office. It’s required for boarding train. Great place for kids. Parking is free just in front of station. Try to arrive bit early to park without hassle. You can spend sometime in art gallery just opposite to station. Public restroom are available and clean. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Really enjoyed the whole Grapevine, TX area. Saw the train Station which is being renovated...stopped at the Blacksmith shop and received a lesson in the art of being a blacksmith. Grapevine has a lovely downtown area, which includes restaurants, a vintage jewelry shop, dozens of clothing stores, and novelty shops. Not to mention Grapevine Olive Oil shop, sweets shops and many more not mentioned. A definite must see for tourists and locals alike.

We did the ride from grapevine to the ft worth stock yards. It was a pretty good trip.We took our two young boys (4 and 2). They were entertained enough on the trip as they had some mild entertainment (sheriff, etc.).At the stock yards, I did feel like theyre was adequate time for exploring. With our kids we did a giant maze, petting zoo, got some ice cream, etc. Also watched the longhorn stampede. Not sure if there was enough time to do one of the tours, but would have been cool.I would opt for the air conditioned cabin. Especially during the summer. Also, in grapevine theyre was some stuff around the depot to look at. So Id recommend getting there a tad early.

Great old diesel engine and carriages kept in great condition and comfort. A very slow journey in parts due to multiple points changing by station hands from train. Plus we went across a lot of level crossing which enriched the scenery viewing. Very good value as a long way by road and ended right inside Stockyard.

We have been on a few train rides, and they are alright. We did the Day out with Thomas last year and The Polar Express this year. While our other rides were okay, I have to say that we did not totally love The Polar Express. We waited forever to get on, were told we might not be able to sit together (luckily we were), and only got a few sips of chocolate milk in cups.Honestly, would probably skip train ride(s) in the future because the outside activities are always much more enjoyable (for us at least). But the workers are always very friendly, and they do a good job interacting with the kids, and that is pretty great.

Had a great time with family, grandkids had a blast, train car was well decorated for Christmas. All elves working that day were great, friendly and eager to be kind to the children. Parking is a challenge, paid $10 to park right across the street, that worked out good. Train ride scenery not much to speak of. Enjoy the ride and those you are with in the spirit of the season and all will be well. Merry Christmas!

We have gone on the Christmas wine train two years in a row now and will be going again (maybe trying a summer train this time). Defiantly recommend it! The wine is good, the service is great, and the atmosphere is amazing. The Christmas train has food as well and they decorate, Santa visits too. Anyone who likes wine or trains(or both) should try it. It isnt even overly expensive.

Nice train and awesome staff. Very friendly and make sure you have a good time. Only problem is that the train has no priority on the tracks - so you cant predict how long the journey will take. Our trip today - reached within 2 miles of Fort Worth, waited in the same spot for 2 hours, and then headed back. In all fairness, it was not their fault and they were nice enough to refund - no questions asked. But something to keep in mind. In any case, you can chill out on the train 😁😁😁.

We went from grapevine to the Ft. Worth stock yards in style. We were on the air conditioned first class car. I was surprised it stayed as cool as it did, I figured air conditioned would be two degrees above the ambient temperature outside but it was really nice...because we did go outside to get some hot dogs and popcorn and then back to the comfy seats.Sheriff Joshua was great, our little boy got a badge for keeping the bad guys away from the train, and we got a nice photo as a souvenir. Good times were had by all.

I took my family here for the North pole express adventure. We had a good time on the train and sang carols and the kids received believe bells on the trip. They meet Mrs. Claus and took pictures with her. After the train ride they walked through an area that looked like it was snowing (soap bubbles) to get to the entrance of Santas workshop where there was more singing and a little show. After the show we went to see the reindeer and went to take pictures with Santa and do some shopping.

Review №49

It was an interesting experience. However this excursion train is low on the totem pole and has to wait for any other kind of train to pass. An hour and half may not seem long, but it is when you are stopped for the third time, sitting on hard wooden seats with no idea when it might be your turn to go again. Im sure if you were on a theme ride (polar express or western train heist) that would help pass the time. Otherwise if you have young ones, be prepared with something to keep them entertained. And there definitely was not enough time to see much in the stockyards or even really to eat at a restaurant.

Fun train ride to the Fort Worth Stockyard, great for kids and adults who just want to do something different. Dont be on a schedule you have to stick to, the train can have unexpected delays upon return and you may spend longer than expected on board. Inexpensive snacks and drinks for sale on board also. Unless you like heat, during the summer, purchase advanced tickets for the air conditioned coach, they sell out fast. Train robbery was cool too.

We enjoyed the trip on the train. It was something different to do but once you get to Fort Worth you have very little time to do anything. We were a group of 19 and were barely able to eat before we had to get back on the train. I recommend eating before or after the entire trip or having a hot dog on the train of you want to shop at all.

They had snacks/drinks for sale during the ride. 6 year old daughter had a fun time on the train ride. Stop in Ft. Worth was just over an hour due to delays, wish it had been a bit longer. We took the kids on the Vintage Railroad ride during the summer and it was a nice experience, except it was very hot. We were not sure which type of seats to get, so we ended up sitting in the open section instead of inside. Kids loved it and we did as well and were able to do something together as a family. Enjoy!

My kids and I absolutely loved this railroad trip. If youve never been on a train before much less a historically significant trains than this is the one to go on. The staff is very friendly with affordable food and snacks along the way and yes the cars are air conditioned. I took my 5yr old on the trick-or-treat train yesterday and had a lot of fun.The interior is decorated with kid-friendly Halloween decorations (not scary) and open seating anywhere you like in any of the rail cars. Its a non-stop 1hr ride that goes 30mins in one direction and then reverses back to the station. There is one car that is not enclosed and it was cold with all the wind, but the other cars are enclosed and heated and very comfortable. There is a lady that walks through taking a photo of your group. She offers it to you in a commemorative frame at the end of the ride for $8. There is a confession stand that sells popcorn and drinks (soft drinks, juice, and water) for $1-1.50/each. If you have cash you can purchase concession items from a lady who walks the train taking and delivering concession orders. Towards the end of the ride, another lady comes through and puts one piece of candy in all of the childrens candy buckets (everyone got ringpops on this ride). It wasnt crowded and the staff was very nice. My son really loved the experience and has asked if we can go on a train ride for Christmas. I recommend the trick-or-treat train to anyone with young kids looking for a fun, safe, and low-key Halloween event.

I had reserved tickets online after the holiday season. There were only two options, first class and regular tickets. We had decided to go with another family, so we both bought online close to each other. We thought it was open seating and we would be able to be close to each other. Nope! It was assigned seating and sitting close to each other was not an option...even after checking in. It was a disappointment for the kids. The scenery along the track is nothing to look at, so just know that. Overall, Im glad we went, but I wont be going again.
