Never had to go on Short Term Disability before, after calling number provided by my HR department I received my packet. The packet included the paperwork that needed to be sent to my doctor, my HR, and my sheet to explain what had happened that resulted in me going on Short Term. Also included on the front sheet was the Provisional cert number, due date of all paperwork, phone number, and email to send the information. Also included was the website to check your status. Now here is where the dissatisfaction comes in.They did not provide in the packet the phone number needed to log in the website that correlates with your company. They did not explain what your pin was to be, nor did they inform you of your ID to log in. As a customer (yes customer, because after all you and your company have paid into their service), who has never dealt with them before, you would think that any first time user would have this provided to them. I had to make multiple calls to get this information. I as a customer shouldnt have to pull all this information from you with multiple calls. Even when I explained the first call that I never used their service before and when asked if there was anything else I needed to log in, I was told no! It is not my job to extract all the pertinent information from you in order to be in compliance with your rules. When I called to verify that all necessary paperwork was received, as the website never updates status. The person answering the phone sounded like you were inconveniencing them by calling, gave you bare minimum responses, and no real information. I understand you are an insurance company and it is your job to make it as hard as possible, thereby helping to keep your payouts to a minimum. I personally feel that you could make this already difficult time in a persons life a little smoother by being a little more Human, personable, and at the least pretend on the phone.

I tried to get on the app and put in my information. It tells me employee cant be found. I thought maybe the PIN number was wrong so I punched in cant remember PIN. It has me put in employee number and email. Still nothing. They arent open to talk to anyone on the weekend so now I have to go into work in the morning to get it figured out. Thats a lot of hassle for someone who just lost their mother.

Absence reporting system is highly inconvenient to use and if you need assistance the call centers hours are not viable for 1st, 3rd, or weekend employees.

Great but too lenient on people. Second opinions should be done.

My experience started out very well, but as time has continued it has failed.I can no longer reach my caseworker by phone, and I am unable to get a clear answer from anyone.MorningStar has went behind my back as the patient, and canceled my short term disability and prompted to let me go from my workplace.I am completely unable to get ahold of anyone to ask questions regarding their decisions.

On behalf of my family I write this review of pure appreciation for MorningStar Health, Inc.I have had an unfortunate number of what I call surgery storms (STD and FMLA) that have unexpectedly arise the last 5 years. With a sudden storm as you know, brings a time to a family of great deal of not knowing what’s going, whats happening or what needs to be done.A feeling of lost, a feeling of being overwhelmed and uncertainly and point blank, “where do I go”.I have been blessed to have MorningStar Health, Inc. guiding light that’s has help me and my family get through these times. The documentation process start to finish and “hey” let’s throw in a few sudden extensions that was needed. LOL.Kaya and Gail again has been so wonderful, kind and very helpful. With great appreciation to Kaya, Gail and MorningStar Health, Inc. and the fantastic service they provide,I THANK YOU,Rich

Customer service works to deflect customers and gives no answers to questions. It would be nice if this company would actually service the customer.
