Greg is amazing! He was filling it for passport appointments and he most definitely eased my anxiety! I came over prepared and he made everything so clear and easy for us. I went in 20 mins before my appointment and we were done in less than 30 minutes. I know he isnt the normal person who processes the passports, but he has such a cheerful personality.

Made an appointment to get a passport indicating that I needed to take a photo on-site. It stated that Goose Creek Post Office did photos on-site on the appointment application. I get there and Im asked for a photo. Of course I dont have one. Then Im told I have to go to Walgreens and get one because they cant do photos on-site. Really? You couldnt send me an email or text warning me before my appointment? I would have canceled had I known that. I didnt have the time to do this as I needed to go back to work. Very frustrated and no passport to boot.

This is where most of my shipping is processed. I like to use the kiosk when the item is in a flat rate box. I believe you get a better value this way. When ever I sold something on Ebay in a custom package, the shipping options didnt usually match what I charged the buyer. I lost a lot of money, but its charged to the game so no loss really. The line is always long, but that is a reflection of the associates who work hard to provide excellent service everyday, and they do! Its just, that everyone appreciates this and so they trust this location over others. If youre in some type of hurry these days, thats a personal problem you need to work on. So slow down, and leave your attitude at the door.

I have the USPS APP, that I downloaded to my iPhone. This lets me know what mail I’m expecting each business day. But, there is a catch! You can easily review the mail you are to receive for that day once the notification comes to your email, but you may not actually receive that mail...the fine print located on the webpage states up to a week, I believe. So, if I didn’t receive a piece of mail that shows it’s to be delivered on that given day, and if I wait a week and still have not received that piece of mail, I can report it several different ways. 1.) in the USPS APP, you can click on that piece of mail not received and report it missing (I’ve done this and never have I ever received a response back), to report your missing mail. 2.) you can approach your mail courier (that is if she is in a good mood or not...usually a nasty mood/attitude and show her that you didn’t receive this piece of mail today by show her the USPS APP. She will tell you to call the main branch in Goose Creek and speak with the post master general. Oh, did I forget to mention, our route mail courier driver doesn’t wear the USPS uniform or a name badge...she wears civilian attire each day. 3.) good luck getting ahold of someone in the Goose Creek post office and when you do, and ask for the post master, you are informed that the old post master (Cheryl Martin) retired, and the acting one is (Dawn Barfield). So when you get transferred to her line, she does actually answer or the message machine answers if she’s not there, but, she’ll tell you that she’s not actually officially appointed as the temporary post master. So you tell her what’s been going on, and she does listen and does look into your inquiry. 4.) you can go down to the Goose Creek post office in person, and wait in the long lines, and then when it’s your turn to be taken care of, you explain your problems and get treated rudely by the staff, but they will tell you to step aside and they’ll try to locate the “acting post master” to come out and meet with you. The clerks are impolite and I’ve been going to this branch for 25-years, but I’d i go to the Ladson post office branch in the city closest to Goose Creek, they are very nice when dealing with their duties...in fact, so is the Summerville and North Charleston post office branches, are just as friendly and very efficient...I wish I could say that about Goose Creek. So, if you have a good customer oriented and friendly post master of a branch, the rest of the team is good, but a bad one, not so good, and that shows to the customer that branch serves to.

I was told in an extremely unfriendly manner that my daughters wedding invitations had to be hand stamped because they had wax seals and that there would be an extra 15 cent charge per letter. The only 15 cent stamps they could offer had Uncle Sams face on them and they only had 3 sheets. When I asked if I could print them from their lobby machine I was told that it did not print 15 cent stamps. My husband said that was incorrect, and sure enough he was right. After spending an hour printing out 160 stamps and spending an extra 24.00 dollars, I returned the next day and stood in line again. I clearly and specifically asked them to hand stamp the letters. The 160 letters were dropped off with this request in three different batches to be less overwhelming for them - and had the additional required postage. My sister messaged me a photo of her envelope after she received her invitation. It had been obviously run through the machine like all the other mail, the seal was flattened, and the envelope was damaged. Since then we have received two letters marked return to sender not deliverable as addressed and unable to forward. We have no idea why. We have reconfirmed that the addresses are indeed correct. These two were also obviously run through a machine, wrinkled, and torn. It is truly a shame to spend hundreds of dollars on invitations, wrap the inserts in ribbon, have someone handwrite every address in calligraphy and wax seal each one, personally select boutonniere-themed stamps and pay extra postage - only to have them arrive in this condition. Shameful.

The attendant was very condescending and righteous for some reason. My family member was just trying to claim a package that the delivery was messes up twice so he asked them to hold the package. I stated to her I owned my own delivery business and that I was trying to help solve it. She then stated to me to mind my own business very rude and cynically. She is an older lady who was very disrespectful named Cheryl. I couldnt believe that she had the nerve as a government employee to tell me that. She was very rude and is very ate up. I go to this post office almost everyday, but I do as much self-service as possible. I have an online business so I send out a lot of packages. I have rarely had issues with lost, late or damaged packages shipping from this location. They have been very reliable and timely, for which I am very grateful. However, like others have said, if you need to speak with an actual person, you are met with a stony, blank stare or the general vibe of How dare you come to the post office to mail something? Although nobody has ever been nasty to me, there is an atmosphere of seriously cranky happening in there. I mean, I get it, Ive had plenty of high volume, high-stress customer service jobs in the past and I know dealing with the public is exhausting and sometimes frustrating. Still, its not the best feeling as a customer to wait in line for 45 minutes with a heavy package just to get to the counter and get side-eye because you exist. So, if you need something mailed, they can do that really well, but dont expect a warm friendly environment. Im still giving them 4 stars in spite of that because they obviously work hard, their services are essential, and Im willing to bet that their jobs are pretty difficult sometimes. Still, an occasional smile might be cool, GC Post office, just sayin.

Two stars because most of the people who work here are extremely helpful and kind. That said, they need to give the soft speaking tall guy another job because hes extremely incompetent. I brought in a Large Flat-Rate box with a prepaid label on 12/20 to ship out to a friend of mine and on the way to the door it got a little wet from the rain. The scanning portion became smudged a little and I knew it wasnt going to be scannable. My fault. Normally I tape over this stuff but Ive been told it might mess with scanners at some other places so I leave it without tape. Anyway, after waiting in line 15 minutes (which isnt bad) I put the box on the counter in front of the quiet, tall dude and say Hey man hows it going? Can I get you to print me out another label for this because its smudged. I can pay right here. He proceeds to tell me that since I did this online, I need to go home and re-print a label...? Dude what? Im at the post office. So I say to him, you cant just put this address in, get me a label and send it off? He then gives me a TO and FROM sticker slip and tells me to go write exactly whats on the label and stick it on the box...so at this point I am more blunt You are telling me you cannot print me out a label - at the post office - and cover this one up - and send it off? He says no. Why do I need to provide a TO and FROM sticker when the address is already on the box and stand on line again? So, I fill out the TO and FROM label, stand on line for 25 more minutes, hand it to another very helpful woman, and she KEYS IN the address, PRINTS OUT A LABEL, and sends it off. Massive waste of time.

This was probably the worst post office Ive ever done business with. Im in the Air Force and was going on a 2 month TDY (Temporary Duty) for training in Texas. I asked them if there was a way to hold my mail for about 60-70 days. The guy just said not more than 30. I understand if thats the policy nationwide, but I then asked how do service members who have to get deployed or are away from home supposed to prevent their mail from being returned to sender? Then he just called his supervisor like I was bothering him with these questions. I wasnt even raising my voice and he pulled the Supervisor card and walked away from me. Then I finally saw something near the counter about mail forwarding. The supervisor said he would hold mail for 60 days for service members...then I asked him if I could forward my mail. If the original guy recommended forwarding I wouldve been fine with that. Ive never had to hold mail at a civilian post office or knew about temporary mail forwarding, I only knew about permanent through the military post office. I got the form from the original guy and I asked him if he had a pen because none were out. He then in a serious tone asked me are you going to steal it? That is a direct quote!! I looked at him like, did he really say this to me?? The customer service of these employees is below not acceptable, and they are very un-professional employees. I submitted a complaint to the USPS and never got a response even though one was requested. I guess with the cost cutting the post office did, their hiring standards went down the drain.
