The company I work for has an agreement for restoration use, so we are forced to use them.1st experience, January 2020, we had laundry door propped open and freeze 7 pipes that ended up exploding in 4 units. There was a ton of damage, there are things that have still not been completed. The follow up of all reps are terrible. They give no heads up for scheduling and expect us to drop everything to accommodate their staff, who has no info whatsoever about my property.2nd experience, June 2021, a resident backed their car into one of my garages and there is siding, trim and sheet-rock damage. No one has reached out regarding repairs. 2 weeks after I called their restoration line, they had someone come take photos (without notifying me first), and nothing. I called their line to follow up and get info, receptionist tells me there is no service order in their system.This is the worst project management team! I wouldnt recommend using this company. You will be constantly chasing them to complete the work. There is no follow up and you will be given inaccurate information if you ever do get in contact with them. Save yourself the headache and move to the next restoration company down the list!

Im a niche interior painting specialist and I worked directly with Giertsen on a project outside my typical service offering for a former client that requested me and I have a close relationship with. Specifically, I worked directly with Betty for administrative support, Kwynn for project management, and Alan as the lead tradesman on site as well as meeting Tyler and Dave who work with this Giertsen team as well.I found Giertsen professional, hard working, and most importantly, affectual and engaged in making this project a success so that the Starr family could get moved in before the holidays. It was an emotional experience for the Starrs having sold their other home, and this one being under distress having caught on fire and therefore needing restoration in the first place after an initial upgrade process had already been completed.The degree of difficulty in this renovation was high as there were special orders, custom finishes, and an accelerated timeline in addition to obstacles that any insurance project encounters. As an outside contractor temporarily joining Giertsens team I felt welcome, supported, and proud to be a part of bringing a family and their home together with a high standard of excellence.There were challenges, it wasnt always smooth. Logistics in these projects can be daunting. But those challenges were always met with flexibility and productivity. Overall Giertsen met the Starrs timeline restoring the home to its former state, even better with the cleaned ductwork and other supplemental work Geirtsen does as part of the entire restoration process for residential properties.I completed the paintwork on this very same home with these very same homeowners not six months back, and have intimate knowledge of both and this entire experience. That said, Im confident that Giertsen was the right company for the Starrs fire renovation and happy I got to know the team and serve a small role with them toward bringing such an unfortunate situation to recovery and closure for an awesome family.

We experienced a horrific fire at our warehouse/office last November. Our insurance company contracted with Giertsen for the initial clean up. That process went so well that we requested that they manage the reconstruction of the site. The necessary work included all electrical, roofing, drywall, plumbing and painting. Each project was managed exceptionally well. The communication was timely and their attention to detail was remarkable. The few issues I did experience were responded to immediately. Our primary project manager was David Murphy. I would recommend him for any clean up or construction project.

Giertsen repaired a water damaged laundry room and ceiling below due to drain/washer issue. They were very responsive and communicative, worked well with our insurance (in fact they were recommended by our adjuster) and did professional repair work on the walls and ceiling. And they were patient and accommodating of our schedules too. We couldnt have asked for more.

In a pinch they really come through clutch - they know how to handle water damage!

Giertsen was fantastic. They were there in the beginning after my fire and Brenda was so nice and and all of the people that worked on the contents restoration were so friendly and understanding during such a difficult time. Giertsen also did my house restoration and rebuild and they were fast, efficient, transparent. All of the workers that worked on my house were amazing and friendly and I just could not have asked for anything more. If I could give them 25 Stars I would.

Completely useless. Avoid at all cost!!! They never completed work, but demanded payments. Sent the wrong assessment to the also terrible American Family Insurance who approved it. Assessor retired mid-project and had not included all items to get repaired. Giertsen refused to update the assessment. This lead to a relatively straight forward repair claim to sty open for 8+ months at this point, uncompleted.

I have worked with Giertsen Company for more than a decade on numerous projects ranging from $1000 to several million dollars. I have found them to be OUTSTANDING in their service, quality and communication. In fact, they have won awards for providing outstanding service in the Multi Family industry. When I have tragedy strike and need restoration services they are not only the first call I make they are usually the only call needed.

Giertsen came to our rescue after our washing machine overflowed this fall. Our insurance company contacted Giertsen, and the guys came out immediately to begin the mold remediation and restoration process. I was thoroughly impressed throughout the process with their communication and professionalism. Phone calls, emails, and texts were answered right away. Every step of the process was explained well and they made sure we knew what was happening. Our home was in great hands during this stressful time and now it looks better than before.

Giertsen did a great job replacing our roof and siding following a hail storm. We were extraordinarily impressed with their attention to detail and their ability to adapt when the peculiarities our 1920s house would throw them a curve-ball. My wife and I had never filed an insurance claim before, however Giertsen helped us through the process from beginning to end and their assistance was invaluable when it came to dealing with the stubborn loss-draft department of our bank. I would have no hesitation hiring Giertsen again.

Dont ever use this company if you want you home to be fixed correctly! They will come in and patch it back together and reuse damaged drywall! Had water damage through out my entire kitchen (ceiling to floor and below). They never checked for mold and wanted to use drywall that was water damaged, just repainted. Drywall is made wet so if gets wet its better than before. Wrong!!! We told them the furnace was out due to the water damage and the furnace was soaking wet. It took the 3 weeks to even have a HVac guy call us to schedule and appointment. They are a junk company that will cut any corner they can!

I was forced to use them and have some problems. I would go into deal but fear i would be taken to court for my words. I would never use them again. They caused me so much pain and sorrow.

I had Giertsen Company fix my ceiling in my condo after a leak from the unit above mine ruined my ceiling.Giertsen Company was quick, courteous and informative. My ceiling looks great and the leak has subsided. My Home owners association has since used Giertsen on other projects in our building and has had nothing but excellent results.

They simply did not meet my expectations. If I didn’t babysit them who knows what result I would have gotten.

BUT TO HAVE A HOME REPAIR COMPANY DO SUCH IS SICKENINGA roofing contractor destroyed my Home & was insured with Secura.Secura demanded I allow this Giertsen Company to come out which SECURA paid & Hired Giertsen to estimate the damages.I already had several Estimates which totaled over 100,000 in Repairs from REPUTABLE / National COMPANIES, ServePro & Service Masters Superior Construction. Though I allowed Bob Zondlo from Giertsen to come out since he stated They Would Fix EVERYTHING all for what their estimate Bid was & Make Certain Secura paid for EVERYTHINGMe as a Homeowner I just wanted my home Fixed the price didnt matter as it was Insurance. Damages are what they are right?in short, The Giertsen guy said anything a Home Owner would want to hear in a time of Distress, Promising & Stating their Estimate is their bid & is exactly what it will cost to repair them could get started Right awayI was Trying to contact Giertsen every few days WITH NO RETURN EMAILS or CALLS just a periodic excuseAfter WEEKS I Finally received a copy of Giertsen’s incomplete estimate, Giertsen missed over HALF.A RESTORATION COMPANY THAT CAN’T DOCUMENT OBVIOUS VISUAL DAMAGED ITEMS IS PATHETICLater to Find out they were in Bed with the Insurance Company there to Write the lowest amount they could to save Secura as Much as Possible, THEY NEVER HAD ANY INTENTION OF DOING ANY WORK OR DO A SIMPLE COMPLETE ESTIMATEI could add much more, but this infuriates me as this caused my house to remain damaged all winter long and caused additional issues, expenses & TimeGiertsen business practices are all about making quick easy Money. The other review with the lady has to take them to court is quite sad. Next step is reporting this to the MN Department of Labor & Industry DLI

We were unfortunate enough to experience a kitchen fire, but Giertsen made things right. Plus the crew were great to work with through the process. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Giertsens does not stand behind their two year warranty! after several attempts to get them to repair all their too many hands in the building nobody wants to be accountable. Im forced to take them to small claims. The neighbor who home destroyed my home in a house fire, has equal issues! I have documents, photos and other contractors including a outside person (that Giertsens hired) documenting the hardwood flooring problem. A photo showing original deck did not sag 6 inches. A statement from the contractor saying the sagging beam should have been replaced and Giertsens is covering it up! Multitude of problems- including all tile popping, grout coming loose - endless!Im a single woman trying to battle with this company myself self / since the beginning of the rebuilt! They would try to fix and at the same time destroy something else in doing so.Fed up! Step up Kevin Giertsen - stand behind your work!

After a fire that devastated one of our buildings, and displaced 8 units, Giertsen not only did a great job, they did it fast. They were able to quickly get things back to (better than) normal.
