Rude customer service- yelled at my wife for no reason when she asked for an update after we were told it would be done on that day. Was told 3 weeks and it turned into 2 months. Spoke to the mechanic who misplaced bolts and also had to warranty out brand new parts that they said were failing. I had to pay them for new hoses- when I had replaced hoses 2 months before. Also they charged me for new connectors to the heater hoses- funny enough this past weekend I had to take a look since my Ignition coil shorted out and found out that they took the new ones I had put in and charged me for two new ones and now there are no new connectors. There are now only one very old connector which is so old it cracked on the hose clamp side. This place scammed me good. My oil pressure light came on so I cant even drive the vehicle (or else itll wreck the engine.) Engine builder has taken my money and gave me a pile of scrap I will be recycling by next month. 1000% DO NOT USE ENGINE BUILDERS.

Dropped an engine off there February 15th 2021 to be rebuilt. Once it was done they were going to install it. I was told 2-3 weeks to rebuild. Now over 6 months later I can’t get anyone to answer or return my calls. When I could get them to answer it was always “it will be ready next week”. At this point I’m assuming they have stolen my engine and I was forced to buy a crate engine and install it myself. so now I am out my $500 core charge since I can’t get my engine back. I highly recommend NOT dealing with this company if you value your vehicle or engine at all. Probably the worst customer service I have ever seen and very shady business.

I had an engine rebuilt there and it literally didn’t last a full year. I didn’t drive the engine after it got repaired because they states I needed a new fuel pump, radiator, and some hoses changed. I got everything replaced and the engine ran great until it didn’t. It seized up on me on the way to work. So I bought a new vehicle, also bought a New engine to replace the engine in the nitro. The mechanic pulled the engine out told me what went wrong and asked where I got the engine repaired. He told me there were used parts on my rebuilt engine. The engine builders told me they don’t use any used parts on their rebuilds they only use the block if there is nothing wrong with it. The mechanic takes the engine apart and finds all sorts of used parts throughout the engine. I will never go there again!

1 month ago, we had engine builders put a new engine in my Chrysler 300c Hemi. From day 1 when my car was picked up in Tucson the tow truck driver and his girlfriend where so amazing!! friendly and professional. Less then 1 week later my car was done fast and efficient, I was ready for pick up my baby! Through the whole process they communicate with my boyfriend Luis every step of the way.. I have to say I’m so pleased and happy with everything ! My car is doing amazing. It drives smoothly sounds great and super fast. No issues so far, we have been very please with their work! Thank you again for doing an amazing job. We will be in soon for our first oil change. We will also give an review update in 6 months.. I give them 10 stars!

I unfortunately will Not reccomend this place and advise others to look else where. Had an engine reman done on my 05 dodge ram 1500 commercial used pick up and in less than month it started smoking from the exhaust. I did take it back only to find that the heads where not correctly done. After sending the heads back in, they reinstalled them only to find my truck would not start. 2 days they attempted to figure out the cause only to find out that they installed the passenger side camshaft wrong and it sheared off the keeper pin. After replacing the camshaft and putting it back together it seemed to have been running right. But then I start to notice a minor leak at the rear main. Go figure after reading my warranty I was past the mileage. Now 40,000 after reman I have bad blow by and a rough idle every so often. My original engine made it 265,000 before having any exhaust smoke and Never had a rear main leak. So after all the work done and loss of work ($$$) for the time to redo the heads, this truck will soon need more repairs especially if the blow by is because oil is getting past the rings. Very very disappointed.Update: less than 100,000 miles and im having to replace the block. Upon pulling the engine we are discovering lots of errors and things that should not be sent out. First off the intake manifold was never cleaned. The mechanic said the amount of build up was that of a 300,000 mile engine. Also upon removing the oil pan he found a full zip tie. A ZIP TIE!!! Really... Unbelievable! I will add more upon further inspection. But seriously, do your research and save yourself the headache and financial heartache...

Im so frustrated with the lack of communication with this shop.... ive tried peacefully reasoning and giving the shop the benefit of the doubt.. but I want other people to be aware of my experiences, as I decided to do business based upon these reviews here.... I almost suspect that some of the reviews on this business are false or paid promotions... this is not one of them....I am unable to review the workmanship at this time and may change my review at a later date based on what happens in the future..My biggest problem with the engine builders is a total failure of professional communication or even regular communication...When I originally entered into a contract with the engine builders I asked for an estimate of how long it would take to complete work on my 351 winsor I was told about two weeks as there were a few cars ahead of me but once the work commenced it would only take 3 days: one to pull the engine and take it to the machine shop, one for the machine shop to machine the engine, and one day to reinstall the engine...As Im writing this im only two day days away from the engine builders having my truck for a grand total of 4 MONTHS! Now if I was originally told that it would take four months to rebuild my engine I would at least have an expectation... but there has been no such level of communication... its always next week.... next week... two days... next week.... its frustrating and annoying to call up every week or multiple times a week to find no progress has been made..Another communication fail ive noticed is that some customers receive pictures of work in progress in different stages of completion... ive recieved zero pictures or on my truck.... im wondering why im treated differently than other customers???At one point the office started dodging my calls so I had to drive up from tucson to Glendale to get some answers...Now I know the owner Greg has had some health problems... but communicate that to the customers when theres gonna be a delay?!? And the new shop manager Shane has walked into a huge pile and it trying to work out a back log of vehicles.... but if you set a deadline man up and freaking meet it!! Or call the customer and explain the delay!!!!Last week I had to call 6 times before I got Shane on the phone who heard my complaints and said hed talk with the owner and call me back Monday and to please not post this review..... he didnt call or email as promised so heres me delivering on my promise to post this review if he didnt follow through getting back to me... the engine builders almost have a perfect record of not calling me back.... I believe ive received a call back 1/20 times Ive been told Id receive a call..Edit: my son says that things should not be accidentally scheduled for five monthsAlso... talked to Shane 2 weeks ago(10/26 the day I wrote the initial review) who said that my truck at the very latest would be ready today (11/6) and guess what?!! I got another next week......

We had the engine in our 2002 expedition rebuilt about a year ago. They were very professional and quick. So we had a F150 4.6L that was leaking coolant badly into the #1,rebuilt (320K miles on motor, never touched except maint). Had gone to aPrescott Valley shop only to get ripped off (no engine, no money back, lawsuit now) and so was leery. Did extensive background on this shopand, leaving out the VERY few unhappy, found nothing but good news.First, all initial contact was by phone or email with Kym. She neveracted too busy to talk and was always friendly, very nice! I decidedto go for it and she arranged to have my truck trailered from Prescottarea to Glendale. The driver (and I regret not recalling his name but avery pleasant man, Bob or Tom?) arrived (after calling to advise he wason the way) within a decent time frame. He was loaded and gone in 30minutes with the signed agreement. Eight days later the truck was readyfor pickup. Break-in was explained and emphasized relative to oils, miles, etc... I met Kym, wonderful lady... saw some of the staff, allsmiling and decent, didnt see any grouches. Was a very nice experience.Nearly 2K on the motor now, complied with the oil changes, filters, andbreak in rules. RUNS very well. This is not a race motor, not aperformance motor. Their website outlines everything that is done andwhat is used. My motor pulls nicely, absolutely purrs, idles like arock, no shakes... my experience was topflight... Kym, the face ofEngine Builders, is a great lady and very friendly (and likes freshvegetables)... at no time was I treated indifferently or rudely... eventhe Great Dane liked me! Frankly, for the price and results this was afirst class job. I am happy.

Thanks Ray JohnsonOkay I took my truck back in because of a couple of small leaks. This place is awesome! Left my truck. They fixed the leaks just like they said they would. On top of that my truck was idling a little fast and they rebuilt my idle motor at no charge. Im getting close to my first oil change everything seems to be going great. So I have a few things I want to point out about my experience with this company. They were very quick and efficient with the initial phone call- picking up our vehicle and quoting a price.Everything up until we went to pick up our vehicle. There was a miscommunication that just did not sit well with me. We received a call stating our vehicle was ready to be picked up, we live about 10 mins if that from their shop. We showed up and there was nobody there to assist us and the staff was not aware of where the individual was that was the only person to assist. After waiting about 30 mins for this individual to arrive we could not wait any longer due to my husband having to work and me needing to return to work. Time is money- its inconsiderate to place a call and advise our vehicle was ready for pickup then turn around and leave. Come to find out they ran out of ink needed for our invoice so the individual left to purchase some. I work with tons of customers a day being in the insurance industry and communicating realistic expectations is everything to me while doing a business interaction. The fact that this miscommunication wasnt handled in a professional manner and that there was little to no accountability nor an apology for what took place leads me to give them a 3 star review. It wouldnt have taken much but an extra two minute phone call to tell us that this person needed to leave for ink and would not be able to assist us without it. That we could have waited a little longer before we showed up and spent 30 mins waiting in 109 degree weather. Overall I am still testing the new motor we had rebuilt- in the end when youre handing a large amount of cash to someone that is providing a service you expect a certain level of trust, service and rapport. Communication is key. I dont want to tell people how to run their business but since my reviews are read often and help people decide who to work with I hope that this individual will take something out of this feedback that only stands to prove that consideration and communication go a long way. I will post again soon on the mechanic work that was done, the truth isnt always easy to bear but it should be a lesson.

Quality service (email and phone). Fast turn around. Both my 5.4 Ford and 5.7 Hemi seem to be running well. Price in middle of really cheap places and really expensive. Nice that they drive any where in state to pick up your vehicle. Could give 5 stars but had 3 issues which demonstrate they rushed or failed to pay attention to all details. The 5.4 had an engine code in about 20 miles of diving. They failed to reconnect an O2 sensor that I had to trouble shoot. No one is perfect and there is certainly lots to reconnect after engine removal. So I overlooked that. However, the 5.7 Hemi also had a code in about 50 miles of driving. They failed to connect power steering fluid pressure sensor. Again, I trouble shoot and corrected (took less time since I suspected something left unplugged this time). The more concerning one I cant verify is the leaking seal around the front output shaft. Lost 1 qt oil on 136 mile trip home. They agreed to have local shop fix it and paid, very happy for their agreement to that. However, the local shop said the seal was old and cracked. So I dont know if they put the old seal back, failed to fully seat the new one, or if local shop was not fully honest. At any rate, both engines are fully functioning and better than before. If they break down and I have issues during the next 23 months I will revise my review.

2006 Dodge Charger 300,000 on car and finally died. I was thinking about scraping my car, but Ive replaced so many parts already, so Engine Builders has a great deal to rebuild the motor for a lot less than buying another car. They did a great job, even added a couple extra parts without the labor charge since the motor was out anyways. The amount they tell you on the phone, is what you will pay when you pick it up. The owner picked up my car with a flatbed tow truck, free charge as stated. It runs like having a new car. I am very happy that they brought my car back to life, so it will keep going for a lot more miles now.

I am extremely un happy and disappointed in the engine builders service, the first thing I noticbed was how filthy my car was when I picked it up. There was grease all over my leather seats, door panel, steering wheel, center console and the exterior of the car, not to mention I couldnt see out of my windshield because of the antifreeze that was all over the place and my tires looked like they took my car four wheeling in the desert. But there was a paper floor mat on the drivers side that said because we care about your car when I took it out there was grease and dirt all over my carpets. When I dropped of my car I left a $5 scratch ticket in the console which must have been considered a tip because it was gone along with the over $5 in change from my coin holder. I was able to look past all of this and decided to just get into my car and drive home and while driving home my exhaust is rattling and banging on the frame and body of the car which it never did before. While driving I called the engine builders and explained the exhaust situation to their office manager who told me thats not possible for that to have happened here because they didnt touch your exhaust I said well they had to remove the exhaust manifoldS from the engine in order to get the engine out of the car lol, none the less she said bring it in tomorrow and Ill have the mechanic look at it, I said ok, that was before I got home and looked under the hood and saw my engine cowling hanging off the side of my emgine, then I checked the oil and saw that it was a quart over full, thats when I decided to take my car to a muffler shop and give them $200 to straighten out my exhaust that was tweaked by their poor installation of my emgine. Needless to say I do not and will not recommend that anyone use their services unless of course you dont care about your car.
