I was little worried, reading other reviews, but we had good experience renting from El Monte RV! Ill start with negatives and possibly things to improve (in my opinion). Checking the unit out was longer then expected, as there was many people waiting, and it seem like there was a little bit of chaos, with some customers still returning, and others wondering around, so I wasnt sure what is my place in line, despite being there on time for scheduled appointment. Seems like if there was more than one person who can do the paperwork and weekend hours it would be much better. Once we got the paperwork signed, and went for a tour of the unit it started to go smooth from that point. We got almost brand new 2021 C25 Four Winds Thor with 1K miles on it, so everything was in tip top condition. If this is your first RV experience (like for myself), the tour could be a little bit more in-depth, as not everything is obvious, and it may take even couple of days to figure it out. Overall, we had a great trip around the lake Michigan, about 1.4k miles with no RV related issues. Everything worked great, and the unit was surprisingly comfortable. There was plenty of storage. Fridge and refrigerator worked great. We had a chance to test water heater, space heater and AC, and it was sufficient for the unit, and our family of four plus dog. Ill be back for next trip :)

Returned one RV and picked up a another one at chicago location, Art,s RV, in Glenn Elyn, and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Thanks to Nancy and KIm for the extra touch and Patrick for his through and clear explanation of all the technical details of our vehicle. i must sadd that a printed manual of such vehicle would have been a nice touch, as things like clearance, sizes and weight were not disclosed. But great experience over all as the vehicle was brand new and in perfect shape. Will do it again. pat n kelli. june 2021

My wife and I participated in a relocation service to San Francisco for a $1 per day (total of 10 days). It definitely was a good deal, but we had issues - both with the rental company and the RV. Even though the RV was brand new, it came with issues. I had the RV de-winterized (for a fee), but they werent able to hook up the water lines to the bathroom sink, due to a leak. They didnt mention it to me, but right before leaving, I asked about it, and one of their service men said, Youll have to deal with it! I then spoke to a manger and asked for a discount - possibly on the de-winterization fee (since technically, the whole unit wasnt de-winterized) and she said, Youre getting a good deal. Nothing we can do about it. We can cancel if you like. (Funny thing is, I thought they were the ones getting a good deal since, I believe, it costs more to hire a company to transport them.) We also had issues with tree limbs. The plastic cover on the roof that protects the propane exhaust broke after hitting a low hanging limb (The same thing happened to a plastic corner on the canopy). Seemed cheaply made. We had to pay out of pocket to replace them. The $16 per day insurance didnt cover it. Also, we drove in high winds. I believe the high winds disengaged the tracking control system, which also disengaged the cruise control. Pretty dangerous when youre driving 65 MPH on the interstate on cruise and then it suddenly disengages without warning! One other minor thing, they gave us a cheap COAX cable, which broke only after using it once.

Poor service!Poor service!Poor Service!Keeping a customer for almost 3 hours to return a vichle is insane!Only 1 person has the authority to check in and check out. We barely missed our flights!BTW, RV is ok and me of the staff named Patrick is pretty nice. But he doesnt have the authority.

This was a very easy place to rent from. The rental itself was affordable but the mileage charge was brutal! I knew it would be, so there werent any surprises. It would be nice if some mileage was included.The RV was clean and in good shape. It was so easy to use and drive. I will rent again but only close to where we are going since we cant afford it if we have to pay for so many miles.

DO NOT RENT RVS FROM EL MONTE RV! They coerced me to sign off on disputed damage charges, even though I requested that they allow me the time to review the charges before agreeing to them in writing. However, they refused to grant me the request and insisted that I sign off on the charges while I was at their office in person. I was told that the charges needed to be paid before I left their building, even though there is documentation from them that the charged damages were already present when I picked up the vehicle. Specifically, scratches on the vehicle were already marked on the Vehicle and Service Acceptance sheet at pickup. However, at return, I was still charged for scratch damages. Furthermore, I was charged for a missing awning cap, even though I have a picture showing that an awning cap was missing at pickup, a discrepancy that was not marked on the Vehicle and Service Acceptance sheet. In other words, they held me to a higher standard at the time of vehicle return compared to vehicle pickup. They charged me for repairs that put the vehicle in a better condition compared to the condition when I picked up the vehicle. Also, they neglected to provide me a copy of an updated Vehicle and Service Acceptance sheet at return, furthering a double standard. Terrible treatment!Do not be deceived by the small business attitude, El Monte RV has connections all over the country and is NOT acting in the interest of you the customer!

From beginning to end of our trip, the service was amazing. Jose at Las Vegas location was the best service rep. So courteous. Shuttle service to hotel after and store to stock up before our trip. Mileage cost a bit high but, everything was upfront. Considering low cost of rental very reasonable.

My experience with them was less than ordinary. Luckily I had a relocation deal so it was $1 per day which made it somewhat bearable. I picked up the vehicle from newark depot and everything was fine. The drop off was all the trouble. The person who served me told me I owed an extra $300 due to mileage. Thankfully I kept my copy of the damage and mile record because some how their copy displayed a clearly changed number. I did lose my security deposit of $500 because of scratches I didnt note down one the pick up. They directly corresponded with the scratches noted below them but it was my own fault. Just be weary of them. The vehicle was in working order and clean.
