Fun place for a haircut. Saw a barber right away. Six barbers were working. Happy with the cut I got there. (No one wearing masks in mid August 2021.)

I have cut my own hair for a long while now and have done mediocre at best. I finally decided to see a trusted barber and I have no regrets. My family and coworkers immediately noticed I had a professional cut my hair. Vince Jr did an amazing job. The vibe is friendly and hilarious. Ill be back there for as long as I have hair! All my life all I knew was Great Clips/Sports Clips. It wasn’t until after high school I was referred to Punch and nobody has touched my head since.Vince and the rest of the barbers at Punch are not only incredibly talented at what they do, but they’re also fantastic people. Out of the sea of people that they see day to day, they remember you and what you talked about last time they saw you. Even if it was 6 months ago!It’s been 7 years and I still go back to them cause of their phenomenal service.If you’re looking for a barbershop for life, this is definitely the place to go!

Great experience for my son (4), who is generally terrified of clippers. Barber was really good with him and moved swiftly to keep him calm. The atmosphere of the sport memorabilia and superheros helped also.Super cool place. I have never been to a barber that gives such a consistent cut! Every single time I walk out looking fresh. Everyone there makes you feel like family and are perfectly down to earth. Been jumping from barber shops for years but this is the first one that I’ve ever stayed at. 4 years going strong! Highly recommend punch and all the guys!

In the 24 months Ive been coming here (about once per month), Ive never had a bad cut. The barbers have a good time and know how to engage with their clients to make you feel like youre part of the family. The price is more than reasonable.The only downside that I can point out is that they dont take appointments, its first come, first served. Having said that, I dont think Ive had to wait any longer than 20 or 25 minutes.Cannot recommend them enough.

Fabio has been cutting my hair for 15 years. No other shops come close for the same price! I drive 30 min to get my haircut which there are barbers 5 min away. You’ll get the best fade around Glenn Ellen at Punch Barbershop!

Was told on phone they check temperature of customers before giving a cut. Didnt happen. No social distancing and customers didnt care about masks. After a haircut I was done. Didnt feel like having beard worked on. Saw a review in one site from 2015 as one of the best places for beard grooming. Didnt risk it. Not going back. Drove 45 mins to get there. Going to a different place tomorrow for beard styling.

Called to asked about COVID procedures. Person answering the phone gave a brief description. When I asked How many people do you allow in the shop his response was If you are concerned about this then probably this is not your shop and hung up on me. Dont quite know what to make of this. Am disappointed in that other reviews (pre-COVID) were so positive.

Overall this place is pretty good and most of the people that work here are nice, but this new guy in the back has got to go. Was not nice at all from the start. Ruined my hair but was distracted throughout my appointment constantly. He made it very difficult and is single-handedly the reason I’m not coming back. Overall, I just feel like you guys could be a little bit nicer to your customers, I know some are very nice but I think others aren’t.

The prices are fair the barbers were very friendly the shop was clean very nice to sit waiting your turn. I recommend this barber shop A5 STAR

We needed a quick haircut for my son with special needs. This was a last minute decision so we tried this place out. Vince did an excellent job and made my son feel very special. He doesnt like getting his haircut but wants to go back again the next time he needs one. We normally paid $35 a haircut. My wife and I agree was just as good.

Walked in on a whim to see if my 10 month old could get his first hair cut and they squeezed us in in 10 minutes. Everyone was friendly and Anthony, the barber who cut my sons hair, was the absolute kindest- he was so patient and did an excellent job. Will definitely return!

Vinc is best guy

This is a fun boxing-themed barber shop that will give you a good cut for $20. Fabio, one of the owners, is a very nice guy who knows how to style hair very well. Punch-out decals on the walls? Cant go wrong.

The staff is great! Both my boys came out so fresh and so clean! Big thanks to them all for being compassionate and understanding with my son who has Autism. They made sure they paid extra attention to his feelings and made sure he was very comfortable. And he loved the music!

My husband and I are visiting Chicago as we come from Ohio. My Husband went to get a haircut, fade, beard trim and beard line up... He was attended by Anthony and I must say he did a brilliant job. My husband and I are so happy with the service. Anthony was quick, professional and great with his work. My husband has been going to barber for years and this is the first time he is so happy and I can see the results too! The place is cozy and friendly. Thank you for a great job done!

Note that my review is based on two haircuts, one for my 3 year old son and one on myself. My wife took my kid here and unfortunately he seemed to get some beginner as other barbers were giving him tips during the cut. Needless to say it was a pretty bad cut and we had to take him to my regular barber to fix it. Fade was good but the top was very uneven. I went here as well since my barber was out of town and I needed a cut. The price is fair and the atmosphere can be nice. My barber gave be a nice fade but again the top was very uneven and seemed very rushed. I have fairly thick curly hair and it seemed he didnt know how to properly cut it. His attempt to style my hair with some product was even worse. I think if you have full time barber as a regular here its good, clearly they have plenty of great reviews, but its not great for first timers getting a next available party time barber. Its a shame as I have friends who highly recommend this place and it wouldve been nice to have a backup barber when my regular is out.

Franco has been cutting my hair for about a year now. Every time I ask for something a little different and he accommodates every time. Giving me the best hair cuts i’ve ever gotten. Vin cuts my brothers and his sons hair. It’s a great barber shop with a barber shop feel. Great conversation, great people, great barbers. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

Highly recommend the crew here at punch. They do an excellent job and have a great knowledge of their customers, you don’t have to repeat what you want every time. A solid, very affordable and consistent hair cut. You can’t go wrong with Fabio - an awesome guy, very down to earth and great barber. My husband got a haircut here and they completely messed him up. I cant believe they call themselves a barber shop. The hairline was crooked with some hairs longer than others, one side was square the other was all kinds of messed up, and the back looked like horrible as well. His hair was so bad another barber shop just recommended cutting it down really short. Its unbelievable that they have barbers with such low quality skills. This is definitely not the place you want to go. They charge $20 for a haircut that isnt even worth money.

Never go to this place. The owner is a complete unprofesional with the way he deals with his customers. He did not want to listen to the way I wanted my hair styled, and maintaned a loud argumentitive manner thoughout my interaction with him. When I told him what style I prefered, he essentially told me he would cut it the way he wanted. Even though I have had good experiences with Punch Barber shop in the past, I will never be going back. Treat your paying customers with respect, or else I will gladly take my money elsewere where its actually valued.

Been going to these Barbers for 20 years! Vince, Sr. Does my hair (in the back) and his son (Vince, Jr.) Is up front with other barbers. Its kinda like the young guys go up front and the old guys like me go in the back. But anyone can cut your hair. Love Mr. Vince! The conversation is just as good as the haircut! Who wants to just sit there. Its like putting on your favorite pair of shoes! Mr. Vince used to own Glendale Heights Barber Shop on North Ave at Main Street by the Bowling Alley.

It is a great old school barber shop, complete with a straight razor shave on the neck after the haircut with the warm shaving cream. Completely family owned and operated, the barber shop is incredible with several generations working there. One of the best haircuts Ive gotten. I would recommend an appointment though, as they are pretty busy.

This is the only place I will go to get my hair cut and I plan to frequent punch barber shop literally for the rest of my life. Vinny does an awesome job on every haircut he gives and the other barbers turn out excellent work as well. Highly recommended. I travel an hour just to come here.

These guys are all amazing. I have been cutting my own hair but decided I wanted to grow it out and have a professional cut. I work in that area but I needed somewhere open early so I can make it to gym then work. These guys open at 6 am! Not many shops are open that early but the kicker is they are pros at what they do.The shop is run by family which is even better. I got a chance to be cut by everybody there and always left happy. Everyone has their own unique take on cuts. You wont be disappointed. The wait times are fair, they can be busy because they are good and in high demand but they will tell you when you enter the door so you at least know.

Took my 11 year old son in. Anthony cut his hair. Best hair cut hes ever had. Very cool shop. My son loved it! Best part, I got to play my favorite old school arcade game for free while I waited!!

The barber could not have messed up in a more catastrophic fashion. If you’re a guy with longer hair stay far far away. I asked for 1/2 an inch taken off and had nearly 5 inches removed. Far past angry. He didn’t speak a word to me the entire cut, it felt like he had no clue what he was doing, and didn’t even seem sorry when I said he took nearly 10 times off the amount I requested.

Just got lined up by Franco. This place is awesome and takes walk-ins on Saturdays. Professional and easy going barbers that like to strike a conversation. Atmosphere is pretty cool they have a lot of sports memorabilia and Foosball in the back to help with the wait time. Haircuts start at $16 dollars. Bring cash... there is a $3 charge for credit. Franco is solid and knows how to cut hair no doubt.I definitely plan on returning. The barbers seem to work closely with you and will take small bits of hair off at a time to give you a clean cut of your liking. They also offer facial hair shaves for those that are interested.

I try going in every three weeks for a haircut but now that it is winter I tend to go every five weeks. This is definitely the place to go to if you want a fresh look.

LOVE PUNCH BARBER. My boyfriend has been getting his hair done here for about a year now by Jose. Its a 40 minute drive for us there but they do a great job so the drive is definitely worth it. Hes tried multiple barber shops and he only goes here now. Would recommend, plus its a great atmosphere.

Walked in here one day for a beard trim and these guys are great ! Vince took care of me and he’s a master at his craft. Atmosphere there is cool too, so I didn’t mind waiting even though it wasn’t that long. I’ll definitely be coming back here.

Best barber Ive visited. Met my barber 4 years ago and theres no other place Ill get my hair cut. Nice casual atmosphere, fun staff, easy to get to. You can call ahead for some barbers or just show up and maybe get lucky. Its a busy spot so anticipate a short wait.

I was referred here by a co-worker who said her son had a good experience here. I was using the same barber for over 7 years and was terrified to let anyone cut my hair. I had an older man named Vince cut my hair and beard and he did a better job than my barber!!! He paid close attention to detail and was extra happy to be doing his job. The place was busy with people which is a great thing to see and all the employees seemed very friendly and funny. I would definitely return here again. Keep up the good work!

Beards BEWARE!! The first time I attempted PBS, I called ahead to find out if I could get in and was told yes and thats it. Showed up until to find they have a list. I wasnt on it and was pompously told youre not getting in today... Second try. I ask for a simple beard trim. I instruct him to get the stray hairs on my beard and fade lightly into the side burns. I have a 3 long beard. He quickly zips my side down to less then a 1/4 all the way to my jawline. Cuts the neckline completely crooked. And leaves patches of different length hairs all over my face. 6 months down the drain! Come back in to have the manager fix it, only to get home and realize he did no better. Bottom line: dont be fooled by the chic atmosphere. Take your beard elsewhere!!!

Vince, Fabio, Franco, and Jose are awesome guys!! it is always lively and a fun time in there. I drive from 20 miles away just to get my haircut there and I go twice a month. I would recommend all my friends and family to see any of these top notch barbers!!! Keep up the awesome job!!

Went in with about 6-7 inches on the top, asked for 1 inch off the top. He ended up chopping off like 4-5 inches off. My hair is now way too short and will probably have to wait almost half a year for it to grow back to where I liked it. He did an exceptional job with the fade on the sides and back.

I think people are giving bad reviews because they dont understand how barber shops work. These guys have regulars come in every day so they do put them first because theyve been going for years. I was going here for a good 3 years until life got crazy and I could never find the time to go. I went today for the first time in 2 years and they all remembered me and welcomed me back without hesitation. We talked caught up. People have bad days n when you go in at prime time you cant expect to be put as a priority. They are busy. They are good at their craft! To this day (even tho my choice barber is no longer there) Im not disappointed with the cut. Anthony did a great job and I am very pleased with punch barber shop.Dont go in expecting to be treated like a king. Stay humble make friends.

Been here 4 times and never walked out out of there with a good cut nor a bad one. But every time after it was finished, I knew that it could have been cut a whole lot better. Felt like there was a lack of communication/understanding and interest when cutting my hair which resulted in below average cuts. The biggest gripe is the whole vibe of the entire shop. The guys are rude and brash and for the quality of the cut and the service, it just isnt worth it. Been cut by 3 different barbers over there and still left feeling unimpressed. Awesome decor and style of the shop though. Also the price is decent.

Excellent traditional Barber Shop in downtown Glen Ellyn. Pricing is really fair, and you get a solid cut. I took my elementary age son there as well, and he enjoyed seeing all the sports and barber shop memorabilia, as well as the cool guys only atmosphere. It was special to find out too that Vince and Fabio have been not only cutting hair for a long time, but they learned from their father who was a barber as well. It really is hard to find a good shop (Ive lived in a lot of places and had to work to find a good barber shop in each), and this one definitely fits the bill. Very impressed.

First hair cut was ok, second was horrible. Fabio is a super nice guy and love the conversation but when I got home, I clearly noticed that I had a bad cut. Sorry Fabio, have to be honest. My cut was uneven in s few areas and you shaved higher on one side of my head than the other.

Ive been coming to Punch Barber Shop for a few years now. Before I found out about this place I changed about a dozen barbers. Fabio is always on the top of his job. What I love the most about this barber shop is that they always remember your haircut preference. Even when you decide to change your haircut style, they will follow closely customers instructions. 👍 I strongly recommend this place, especially for those who tend to wander from one barber to another, like I used to, before I came across Punch. 👍

The staff is very knowledgeable, polite, efficient, and accommodating to any of your needs. The shop is very clean and holds true to their theme. My only advice is to come in at a weird day time hour or youll have to make an appointment unless you want to sit around for a long time.

This has been my only barber shop for several years. Fabio is awesome! One drawback (for the customer) with quality, comes longer waits for a barber. More often than not you will have to wait for a specific barber. Call in advance to see how busy they are and if your guy is available.

Been going to Vince for years, and now my kids use his brother Fabio. A GREAT FAMILY run shop with 2 or 3 other barbers that are also like family. CALL AHEAD and ask for an appointment because they do get busy! They work fast and are efficient and the ambiance and decorations are nostalgic to say the least if youre a child of the 80s.

Anthony cut my hair and it was so bogus, I had to go get a haircut next day to some other barber. No details, no fade, no line up, hairs were still long by my ear and most of no attention to detail. I would not recommend going there. Please chose some african America barber, they are the best and talented. Waste of my 25 dollars

Good group of guys working here. Im partial to Franko but hes usually got a line so I just go to Pops in the back. Honestly youre going to get a good cut from anyone here.I appreciate that theyre old school with the a shave around the ears/back of neck and vibrating palm massage thing at the end.
