So I’ve been with Allstate for almost 15 years. Homeowners, Auto and Life. A number of years back I received a letter from HC Allstate with a refund check and condolences on my death. Yes, they thought I had died. The person was someone else with my name, but even so how could they ignore all the other identifying information? That probably should have been enough to drop them, but I didn’t. Recently, my house like so many in this area was hit in May with hail. To me, it looked like my siding and roof got dinged pretty bad. I made a claim. Over the summer as I watched dozens of homes in the area being repaired - including my neighbors across the street (State Farm), Allstate fought me. The first inspection saw damage to the siding and roof. Allstate home office disagrees so they sent out the second inspector who only saw a little to the front of the house. Without my knowledge after the second inspection a small check (not enough even to repair that damage) had been deposited to my account and a notice sent that they were closing my case. I objected and I pointed out the discrepancy between the two inspections so they sent out a third inspector. You guessed it, he agreed with the second inspector. My agent?! Early on I spoke to HC senior who told me how important I was, how they were going to help me and how sometimes the inspectors are a hassle. That was great! Someone on my side. I even CC’d my agent in on the emails. The thing is is that after the “we got your back” speech I never heard from them again. Not a follow up. Not a response to my email. As soon as I find another insurance company I’ll be taking my home, auto and life insurance out of Allstate. If you still have them - Good Luck!

I have been with Harry as a customer for over 15 years. I decided to write a review because in searching for their number I saw a negative review. I can only speak for myself but my experience has been truly amazing. I have had several issues with car accidents, new homes, new vehicles, etc. and Harry and his staff have been first class all the way. For example several days ago my car died and I called his office to find out about coverage on towing and rental cars. They answered right away, got me the information in literally seconds and then the unexpected. They told me to hold on and they called around and found me a tow truck and saved me both time and money. It was above and beyond and made me feel cared for. My monthly payments are rediculously low too. I had a couple of car accidents over the years, drove into a bay, they looked at it, cut me a check….I will always use Allstate and specifically Harry Cotter Allstate. True story :)

Great and attentive service.

My experience with Harry Cotters office has not been positive. I notified the office over a year ago that my divorece was final. They continued to mistakenly send emails/bills to my ex husband with out my knowledge. They apologized repeatedly, and reassured me this would not happen again. It happened over and over until I discontinued all insurance policies on 9/19/15. On 10/19/15 Allstate charged my account 119.56. I was informed by their office the charge was for my exhusbands auto insurance.

I recommend Harry B. Cotter Insurance to anyone that likes a welcoming business atmosphere and very competitive rates.
