Visiting kc from out of town. Wanted something not downtown. The restaurant felt dated but was clean. A little miscommunication when we were being seated but not a big deal. Waitress was friendly. Food was served very quickly. Tried the burnt ends mac n cheese. It was delicious. The meat was hard to fork because it fell apart. My entree was underwhelming. While the pork burnt ends were super tender they werent very crispy and it seemed most of the flavor came from the sauce (which was very good) The ham was just ham with sauce . Fries were extra crispy. Baked potato was good. Baked beans were really good. The texas toast on platter had some sort of sweetness to it. It was good as well. I would say an average dining experience.

The zB2...or B6 was wonderful. Flavorful and filling. My son said his turkey was delicious! The chicken was fall off the bone yumms. We had large fried mushrooms and ranch. They were good portions and fresh. Creamed corn had great flavor along with the beans. Do to meat cost ,prices were higher. This is a great place to go. Clean and friendly.

We had family come through town and want some good KC barbecue. Being new to town, we have only explored a few restaurants, and a couple of them were closed. The Smokehouse, however, had great ratings and was nearby, so we decided to try it out.It did not disappoint!From kids chicken strips and fries to brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork sammies, everyone at the table (10 of us) was pleased with the food. Definitely a new favorite.

The burnt end burger didnt have a whole lot of smoke flavor. Baked beans was really good though.

Not bad. Not the best. Fried pickles were really good but a tad salty. The burnt ends 🍗were not super juicy but flavor was there. Couldn’t eat outdoors on the patio either for some odd reason🤷‍♀️. But overall not bad place.

Barbecue brisket is my favorite it is so tender, delicious! my boyfriend usually gets the chicken strips the fries good and hot and good. Loved it!

Ordered the cajun wings to go and they were awesome!! The only complaint I have is the portion size of the sides. They came in a tiny little cup. The kind of cup that ice cream used to come in when I was in elementary school. Three bites in and they were gone.

3 stars only because they didnt have my wings so I settled for the crispy, I mean its not bad but I was craving wings

What an amazing experience we had at Smokehouse. Everyone in the building was greeting us, helping us, or thanking us for coming. Alexis was an amazing server(one of the best I have had in years) and the manager was witty and caring with regard to our dining experience. Beef rib and chicken wings were amazing!!! Some of the best beans in KC. We fed 4 people for $140 bucks and had leftovers for lunch today. Next time I am in town, I will definitely be back to Smokehouse.

One of the classic barbecue restaurants of Kansas City, smokehouse barbecue in Gladstone provides a family friendly atmosphere coupled with classic American barbecue and their own spin on a creative sandwich. Brisket and turkey, with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños topped with an onion ring. It’s like a spicy Z-man on steroids.

Gave them 3 stars because the other two people that were with me enjoyed their food. My beans and fries were good, but my ribs were so tough I couldnt chew them. For the price we will not be going back.

Service was good, reasonable prices, ordered the pink lemonade which came out watered down but the ice tea was great as well as the appetizers and main course. The mans bathroom needs some improvement as well as some air freshener. Did not have to wait for a table even without a reservation. Employees were very polite and courteous. Well come back again!!!

So is it normal to get EIGHTEEN individual fries with your Burnt End dinner? I opened the Box and the fries were practically non existent. I literally counted 18 fries! I also received just 2 pickle slices. Lol. On the bright side the burnt ends were halfway decent.

Smokehouse barbecue has amazing food great staff and anytime I order online they are always so efficient with everything I ask for. Absolutely love this barbecue place. ❤️❤️❤️

If you’re a DoorDash driver, avoid this place at all costs. Manager obviously doesn’t know how to speak to people, and when she has to remake an order and doesn’t want to, will find any reason in the book to be rude and kick said driver OUT OF THE STORE. Not to mention, witnesses also dining at this location saw this happen and were appalled. This third party company only brings you more revenue, and prevents you from having the hire your own drivers. Get a grip. Be thankful for the income. We’re still in a slump from this pandemic. I’m scared to know how she treats her employees now.

Two stars only because my pick up order was correct and done on time. Never going back though. Opened up my to go container of pulled pork, peeled back the nice parchment paper covering it only to have a bug fly out. 🤢🤢🤢 so yeah we are on the way to get something else to eat.

Very disappointed with Smokehouse BBQ. Food was good, but service was pathetic. My son and his girlfriend went there and did not receive refill on their drinks, not asked iif they wanted appetizers Took over 15 minutes for a take out of baked beans with a confusing excuse about why it took so long. Waitress was not very friendly.

Today we called in an order while rolling down North Oak Trafficway. The lady who initially answered the phone graciously told us it would be ~ 30 min until pickup. We told her that we were en route just because we happened to going that direction towards home, and we thanked her and said wed try elsewhere. She asked how close we were and what we had been planning on ordering; we told her and she said that she would be able to fill our order easily. After pulling in to their pickup area, everything went swimmingly. Our order (full slab baby back pork ribs in a dinner for two) was fulfilled quickly and with a smile from the young woman who ran it out to us. The items were well packed. Upon arriving home, we plated our meal which was hot and more than enough for two. The ribs were tender and moist and very flavorful. Our sides were beans, coleslaw, and cheesy corn. All were wonderful and tasty. We were very pleased with both the service and the meal itself. Great service and a great meal are a combination that cant be beat!

Food is good in store but lack when it comes to to-go food. The portion sizes are skimpy especially when it comes to their sides. My beans were in the same exact ramekin sized container. When you get them in the store they give you a big bowl.

The blonde manager needs to be trained in customer and food service and needs a major attitude adjustment. I went there with the intention of dining in and left without even ordering because of how she was treating a delivery driver. No one in customer or food service should be talking to anyone the way this manager was speaking to this lady. And the fact that it could be heard in the dining area was equally as disturbing. I was actually a bit frightened for the delivery person’s safety when the manager followed her outside! I will never frequent this establishment again, and I hope that manager gets discharged. Unacceptable behavior from an adult, let alone someone in charge.

Had the pulled pork plate with fries and ordered a side of potato salad. All was yummy! My server was very nice and prices were very reasonable.

NO DON’T! JUST DON’T. If this place is among the top 10 in KC, I don’t have very high hopes for KC barbecue. Very disappointed in the sauce especially. Tastes like pasta sauce that someone forgot to stir the sweetener into well enough. The brisket was mediocre at best and the pulled pork, avoid at all costs. The serving sizes were ridiculously small, compared to the price. One positive note, the bread, potato salad, coleslaw and beans(kinda overly sweet) were surprisingly good, considering. We got delivery and there were no utensils or napkins included. It was wonderful, trying to enjoy the pasta sauce flavored meat with our fingers.......

This place is amazing! Some of the best bbq Ive had! The sliced meats are fantastic, especially the chicken and sausage! Vintage look with stained glass that has a comfy feeling while you enjoy the que! Jacob was my server, and even though its his first job he took care of us like it was his restaurant. Will be back!

Great place for bbq. The burnt ends were excellent and the sauce was tasty as well. The smoke outside gets your tastebuds watering before even entering the restaurant. Definitely, would return.

I havent eaten here in several years because I moved 800 miles away. Now that I have recently moved back a year ago Ive been twice. It is still delicious. Constantly a member of the wait staff close by and always attentive. I have no doubt they have something for everyone.

Only reason for 2 stars is because the waitress was really nice. The food was terrible. My ribs were chewy and tough, and the burnt ends were flavorless. Had to eat food with sauce to make it bearable. Would not recommend

I had some special things I needed to do with my order that they dont do, yet the manager accommodated that request due to what other items I ordered. For that I would give them a 5 star alone, and food tasted great. But gave them 3 star as they were pricy for the quantity of food that you get.

Almost everything was amazing when me, my wife and our kids came up to eat saturday evening our server (i think her name was alexus) went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of while also taking care of her other tables, will definitely be back to see her again. but one thing that really upset us was watching how the blonde manager was treating her employees. she was very rude and when i tried to wave her down to talk to her about our service with our server she ignored me. i also heard the way she was talking to the 2 girls at the cash register and no employee should be talked to like that! especially from their manager! but other than that our experience was great

Tasty bbq, awesome beans with lots of molasses. A large and nice dining space. We had a group of 10, no reservations, and they accomodated us easily. If you like Kansas City bbq, this should be on you must try list.

N Oak location definitely going down hill. We are seated then they immediately seat a family right behind us!! Not even 2 feet distance let alone 6 ft apart!! They was NOT that busy. My husband ordered pulled pork and got sliced turkey instead. He did say it wasnt bad. The baked beans had no flavor. Not up to Smokehouse standard for sure.

My family and I have always - ALWAYS - loved Smokehouse, especially Gladstone location. I was thinking of where to go with my husband for our wedding anniversary tomorrow and we both thought, Smokehouse it is! We havent been there or ordered for almost a year due to Covid so we are excited to come out and enjoy some briskets and burnt ends! The burnt ends are super delicious. Sometimes theyre on the fattier side (and I actually dont mind it), but there is hardly ever leftovers after a family gathering here at home. Our all-time favorite is the sliced brisket and the beans! We order extra beans every single time we do a carry out. The sweet corn is also delicious! Cant wait!

My server was very rude. I was there with my brother and wife. We was there for over an hour and never got a refill once. The table across from us had 6 people and he was more focused on them than anyone else. Aside from that, the good was great, just like I remembered it. The customer service is what got them a 2 star rating instead of a 5

I kept hearing about these Cajun Butter Wings at Smokehouse BBQ. So I drove from South OP to try these bad boys out. I was NOT disappointed!! They were excellent!! Plenty of meat. A nice char on them and a very flavorful canjun sauce with just the right amount of heat. PLEASE place one of these in South Johnson County!

So. Writing this review literally makes me sad. I love Smoke House. I’m a very long time customer and I get the same thing 99% of the time, and every time it is a home run. Well unfortunately, this evening Smoke House was not on point to say the least. I consider the Prime beef rib one of the most beautiful, tender, delectable pieces of meat ever. The only two places you can get one, that I know of, are Jack Stack and Smoke House. And I have been getting them often for years. To not go on and on, the one I ordered today was the most dry, tough, old looking one I’ve ever seen. I usually don’t write reviews and am not trying to bash or talk bad about Smoke House. I guess I have hopes that someone at the Gladstone location might see this and maybe make sure that these pretty expensive pieces of meat are treated better in house and a better product is presented to their customers.

I ordered an appetizer as my dinner, but they brought it out way ahead. Didnt want to eat before everyone else so it got cold. Hubby ordered a sandwich and fries, added a side of beans. But they did beans instead of fries so he got no fries and nowhere near a full side of beans. The food we got was good, but it would have been nice to have what we ordered the way we ordered it.

I had the brisket platter and it was delicious tonight. The portions were great I shared it with my daughter. Our waitress who weve seen almost every time we go in, was great. I asked how long she had been at the Smokehouse, she stated she has been with the restaurant for over 30 years.She is still giving great service.

I would like to tell you I am not happy with what I picked up the baked beans were half an order of a half I paid for a order of baked beans and only got a small cup of baked beans I ordered a burnt ends and it was a very small portion with two sizes of bread I asked for extra pickles and if they only give me two more pickles that was it I asked for extra bread they only gave me two pieces of bread the service was good but the quality and quantity of food was not worth the price I paid I am not happy I asked for extra sauce only got one container a very small container everything was very small portioned and at the prices theyre charging its not worth it youre better off going to Arthur Bryants or Gates BBQ lol

Did a pickup for a family order. Sorely disappointed and highly upset i paid so much for this order. The ribs both pork and beef were dry. My daughter took one bite and refused to eat. Said it tasted bad and so so dry. The meats were all terrible. The fried pickles and salad were the only good things. WILL NEVER order from here again. A waste of my hard earn cash.

The order was correct. The food was good. They were really busy. They said a half hour. It took about 50 minutes to bring the food out to the car.

Great barbecue. Ordered burnt end platter and prime rib sandwich and both were delicious. The side of beans stole the show. Portions were big and justified.

It was good for the price, best bbq place I know of in that area, very friendly staff, if you dont like a lot of sauce on your food and would rather dip it make sure you tell your server, the interior looked old and run down, the wallpaper was peeling from the wall, but thats not a big deal, definitely would recommend.

This Is one of our favorite restaurants, but we havent been back since the pandemic. About 1/2 the patrons were maskless, the staff all wore masks and had made adjustments: active curbside pick-up, no condiments or salt or pepper shakers on the tables. The food was just as tasty as we remembered. We have both been double-vaccinated, but dining inside still felt awkward.

Absolutely enjoyed myself at this location, the staff was super helpful (I asked if they had bottle water they said yes and brought up Dasani, which I told them it was a coke product so I was good unless They had positive ph water. He went to the back and the owner was kind enough to give me some from his private stash. Lol. Truly impressed with the level of service. The bbq of course was outstanding, I also have to give them props on the beans I couldnt get enough of them especially when I dipped my fries in them!

The Gladstone location is one of my favorite locations...maybe cause I ate there so much as a kid, or because the people are so friendly.

Wait staff was friendly. Food came fast. It was hot and delicious. Three of the four of us had boxes to take home - there is a lot of food! We had beef ribs, spare ribs, and baby back ribs at our table and all were superb! The beans are excellent and so is the cole slaw. Highly recommend this place.

Our meal was served by a fast, friendly waitress who recommended several delicious entrees and the fried pickles. Yum!

I really do enjoy their food and have eaten at more than one location but Im giving them 3 stars instead of 5 because it never fails that the Gladstone location always messes up the order when we do carryout. The first time, I ordered several items as well as a 1/2 lb of brisket and didnt notice until i got home that i didnt receive it. This time I ordered double sweet potato fries for my 2 sides with my sandwich and got regular but fortunately they did throw in an order at the end so technically I got extra fries but the big bummer is, my daughters burger didnt have the top part of the bun! I mean come on, they had to wrap it and youre telling me they didnt notice it was missing?! You just put the wrapper over lettuce... I dont understand how that was missed.
