Love this location/area!! With the newer management, this is a great place to live with a family. Office really takes care of your needs and maintenance staff is amazing with on call help!!

The management staff is unresponsive. I have asked to speak to the general manager several times and have not received a call. I am not sure if the general manager does not care or the property manager is not relaying the message.Best to stay away until new management is placed. Has gone downhill since I have been there 4 years ago

Have been living here for a long time and have seen many changes to the property since the new ownership transfer from Shodeen. The units are very very quiet. With the exception of a bottom unit and having an upstairs neighbor that sounds like they have a pet Clydesdale.. Extremely safe neighborhood and nice ownership and management. The reason I gave the property 3 stars is because of the parking and pet situation. No one cleans after their dogs and also dont use leashes. So these large dogs are loose and I fear for my small dogs. There is a dog near the entrance that is tied up outside (which is supposed to be against the rules) that had a lead that made it possible to get to the street and I almost hit it. As for the parking, There are never parking spots in front of the building or in the lot in general. Usually have to park on the other side of the property and walk very far to get to my unit. There used to be parking regulations but the new ownership seems to be afraid to enforce anything on their own property. There is a towing company sign but I have never seen a car towed from the lot. They added handicap spots to the lots and took away 5 spots from my lot alone which already did not have enough. People Park in the spots that are not handicapped and although the sign says they will be towed or ticketed, it has never happened. There are cars with flat tires and havent moved in several months to a year. The rule used to be 2 cars per unit and most units now have 3 or more or have motorcycles that take up a whole spot. The motorcycles and cars are covered which again was against the rules. Tenant Work vans and trucks everywhere A real wild west when it comes to parking. If you rent here, which I really recommend, be prepared to walk because that is what you will be doing. Rent is OK but seems high for what they are.

My husband and I (and our large dog) lived at ashford for 7 months in 2015. They are very nice, spacious apartments, maintenance is responsive and prompt, and the pool is great in the summer. My only issues were parking- spots were pretty limited so we often had to park along the curb, etc. (though they were never ticketed) and the fact that the office staff, while very nice, are limited in what they can do for you. I requested they purchase a scale for the fitness center and was told they werent able to make purchases like that. Considering I was paying over $1200 a month in rent, Id think they could afford a $20 scale;) But overall we loved living there and would recommend it!

I am very happy with this apartment. I have a lot of sun and a nice view. It was clean and ready for me when I moved in. I like the people in the office and my neighbors. Im glad that my dog is welcome here too.

Avoid. Its a refurbished mess. Staff is VERY incompetent when it comes to getting the smallest tasks done. Anyone can park here, and leave theyre work trucks, UHauls, etc in spots for months without consequence. For the price you pay you should get so much more. And dont let me forget about the over treated well water. You cant drink it even if its been filtered. So plan on buying your water for drinking and cooking. Seriously, avoid this place. So many other options in the area.

Safe neighborhood and comfortable apartments. But very poor maintenance staff . I got my refrigerator repaired and I am staying without it replaced for 3 days now. My dishwasher never worked since we moved in and the maintenance did not fix it. In general I dont see the appliances and fittings to be of great quality , they are mediocre(especially for the high rent price we pay). Otherwise its a decent community. After 1 month :The refrigerator was fixed after multiple phone calls and visits. Dishwasher is not yet fixed . And now the dryer stopped working all of the sudden . Raised requests and no response yet for the past 10 days . Looks like I have got to push them once again to get it fixed. I am done with this apartment , will not extend the lease and will not recommend.

I have lived at Ashford St. Charles for about a year and a half now and it is a great place to live. There are a couple complaints Ive had: parking can be a pain because it is limited, my apartment flooded from my upstairs neighbor and it took 2 weeks for all the drywall to be replaced and New carpet and trim to be finished. That being said, looking for a parking spot and having to wait a little while for the repairs is nothing compared to the other aspects. The office staff is always super friendly and nice, my pup loves stopping in to say hello. The apartment layouts are wonderful and spacious. The location is prime when you consider dowtown geneva, St. Charles and the commons are all less than 5 minutes away. Its a wonderful place to live if you dont mind a little parking frustrations now and then :-)

Im a 20 year old and this has been my first apartment. Ive lived here for two months now and couldnt be happier. The complex has an incredibly friendly and thoroughly helpful staff that made my transition into my first apartment seamless. The maintenance crew is just as personable and respectful. I came into my apartment search knowing absolutely nothing about what it takes to lease an apartment but thanks to Marlot and Rachard (two of the main office staff members) I have absolute piece of mind that I selected the right apartment for myself. Not to mention the complex itself is gorgeous (you really have to see it in person, the image on google doesnt do this place justice. Im excited to continue living until my lease is up!

Avoid at all cost. Used to be good, but became terrible due to management. Below is a lengthy description and hope it helps you. But the bottom line is simple, just avoid.Lived here two years now. First year was great with the previous management. The second year has been not great. One of two female officers in the management office never gets any request done. I hear nothing after weeks and usually have to find the other officer to get job done (fixing small things, questions, updating contract, etc.), though the other officer gets job done very quickly. The management also imposes double-standards to the residents. We were asked not to leave a babys stroller outside because of trip hazard. We store inside our unit now except other units seem allowed to keep theirs outside. I am not sure what is the basis of discrimination. This apartment is also not quite baby friendly neither. We have a baby and we do make noise but definitely at moderate level as a family with baby, not like crazy crying or anything. I do expect a complaint or two from the neighbor, but the management does not play any effective role to make this work. Does not tell us what kind of noise we can work out to minimize, or try to even understand we have a baby. I have to say its a 3rd or 4th ranked management: anyone can just forward complaint from left to right, and a good management would actually do something more to help solving this issue. So overall this new management is quite disappointing. I used to recommend this complex to my colleagues working at a huge lab but now I have to actively recommend against it.UPDATE 09/01/2017We moved out from this apartment for my new job.We paid until August 31st but moved out on 8th. My new employee pays for termination fee and everything so that was not a problem.a) We asked for a written, letter-like receipt for the termination fee that clearly indicates that they received the payment. A lady in the office with big smile took our check and said yes, and she just took a photocopy of our check and gave us the copy, saying this should be perfect. No, its not.b) They left me a voice message today saying they have not received a key nor notice via phone that I moved out. I did walk-around check in person on August 8th, signed the form that states the state of the property, and handed over the key to the management in person. They are not only incorrect but do not double-check the record and leave such voice message which obviously upset a tenant. Far from being professional.

Countless problems since most recent management took over. Current Manager on-site, Rashad, cant take criticism. If you question him, he will THREATEN you with EVICTION. This is our 3rd year here and will now be our last.
