There are a couple of rude, salty, unhelpful women working at this location. None of the three women I saw when I went in were wearing masks. The young woman who rung me up was not at all helpful. One of them yelled at me before I had even went into the store as I was trying to access one of two vacant parking spaces in front of the store. She was riding on some kind of golf cart and yelled You cant park here!. Ok...well all the other spaces were occupied! She jabbed her finger over at some corner next to the parking lot entrance where it looked like they were stowing hitches? It wasnt an actual parking space. The entrance to the parking lot is flooded with several inches of water. I only ended up going to this particular store because the one I normally use in Raleigh was out of the item I needed, and this was the next closest to my apartment in SW Raleigh. The only reason I give it any stars at all is that they actually had the item. Ive moved multiple times over the past 10 years and bought packing materials from various U-Haul stores between Raleigh, Greensboro and Los Angeles. This is the single worst experience I have had with U-Haul and I will never go back to this particular store.

Julie Tyndall goes above and beyond the call of duty. The online reservation system and customer service agent inadvertently selected the wrong pick up date and return location. Julie was able to rectify the issue and got me into the truck I wanted. Her customer service is unmatched and appreciate her displaying a lost art: empathy. The only delta I have is the location has a staffing shortage.

No one at this location answers the phone. Finally get through after trying all day. I get told that only the manager can help me with a charge that shouldnt have gone through and shes not in. Left my name and number and was told Id be called back when the manager got back later that day. It has been three days.Edit: after 10 days, many phone calls, and two in-store visits, I finally got a call back from the manager. She was very sweet and patient but overwhelmed. The national line said to give it three days for a manager to call but it could be closer to two weeks. Just be aware.

Customer service was great! Everyone was very welcoming and prompt! I did my check in prior to getting there and that made things so easy! The young man that helped hook up the trailer met us with a smile. 10/10 would recommend 😊 no hassle at all

The worst experience, very disappointed. I made an order for a hitch receiver and made an appointment for a week later. When I showed up, the hitch receiver was not in stock, they told me it will take two more weeks. I did not receive any call or anything to let me know about it so I wasted my time driving there. They are not professional as I was expecting.

Currently on hold with Uhaul customer service because the local 919 number doesnt actually get you anyone in Garner on the phone. I tried to get a hitch installed a week ago. Drove all the way there only for them to tell me they didnt have the part. Tried to sell me on a different part. I said no let me know when you have what I paid for. They left me a voicemail with no way to get back in touch with them directly. Now on hold with Uhaul robots for over an hour and no hope of getting a hitch any time soon.

On June 17th I put in a request for hitch and installation for the 25th. I show up on the 25th just for them to say it wasn’t scheduled even though I received a confirmation email. They claimed they were out of the hitches which was surprising because if you knew you were out why would you wait til after I spent $340 and show up for my appointment to tell me the product and service wasn’t available.

Made reservation for a truck over a week ago. Go at schedule time just to have the guy helping me have no effort. Finally have him call to see where truck was at, the previous customer needed it another day. No truck and just got a sorry and no alternatives offered.

Worse Uhaul location EVER!!!!! I rented a pickup truck for 4 hrs. Was given the truck on empty. They did give me a $20 credit due to being empty. Returned the truck 15 mins before end of my rental timeframe. My rental with credit should have been less than $30. Checked my bank statement 2 days later and was charged over $80. Contacted customer service and was informed location charged me 2 additional days as if I still had the rental. Was told location GM would contact me. Never was contacted by anyone and whenever I tried to call was routed to call center. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THIS LOCATION! All my years using Uhaul this is the VERY WORSE in more than 20 yrs.

Horribly incompetent group of people. Lied to me for 2 weeks about having a Ford transit available. When I get there it’s a Chevy van. Everyone is great at making excuses and saying there’s nothing they can do. Absolutely do not recommend using them.

Update: 6/14/21The manager reached out and we had a productive conversation. He took my feedback with a good attitude. Sounds like the fuel issue is being looked into. I am satisfied with the out come. Changed my rating to 3 stars as a result of the resolution.6/12/21Caution to anyone who rents from this location! They have a history of fraudulent charges and rude treatment of any customer who objects.I recently rented a truck and picked it up and dropped it off at this location. When I picked it up a woman was in line behind me telling me her nightmare of customer service with the place for trying to scam her out of money by saying she didnt return the truck with the right amount of gas. They charged her a 30 dollar fuel surcharge plus over 4 dollars a gallon to put gas in it. She claimed that she had put the gas in. It appeared that they were in the process of refunding her due to her error.... I took note of this and was sure to document my rental extra carefully. When I rented the truck I took a picture of the fuel level. It was just under 1/4 of a tank. I was told this was on purpose and to return it with no less than 1/4 of a tank. I returned the truck a few days later and made sure to take a picture of the miles and the fuel level. I dropped it off and left feeling confident that not only would I not be charged additional fees that I would get a bit of a refund because I used 10 fewer miles than I had estimated.30 mins after dropping the truck off I got a receipt in my email. They charged me 53 dollars in fuel fees. A liar named Stephanie McGowan claimed that I returned the truck with 1/8 of a tank.I immediately called the location and spoke to one of the employees there. I didnt catch his name but he is a white male with a redish brown beard. He told me they were busy and Id have to wait for him to help me. He seemed annoyed that I would be bothered by being overcharged by 53 dollars and then left me on hold for over 20 minutes. I finally hung up in frustration and called corporate...where I proceeded to be left on hold for 30 more minutes. I finally got to speak to a person who requested that I send in my proof that the charges were false. I sent it in immediately and also requested that the manager of the location reach out to me regarding the transaction. At the time of this review I have yet to hear anything from this person.Uhaul sent a request for a survey to me email... lol I filled it out ... very shortly after that I got an email notification that the 53 dollars had been refunded. 3-4 days after the complaint.Its been over a week now and no contact from the manager here.I can understand being busy... I can understand making a mistake... I cant tolerate making excuses for abysmal customer service because you are too busy to correct a mistake made by your staff. Either the girl who checked in my vehicle is dishonest and commiting fraud or incompetent and causing multiple customer service issues. Either way this place needs to get their act together.

Very disappointed! After finally making an appointment online and paying in full for a hitch installation on my Nissan Altima, I was greeted (if thats what you call it) by an insolent teenager with NO social skills whatsoever! I was told at my appointment time that the hitch needed for my car was not in stock and therefore needed to make another appointment (after taking a day off from work) - I was rescheduled for the following Monday at 7:00AM and again, upon arrival - no one was in the store and the teen who was there did not greet or ask how he could help. I was then told by another man that it would only take 1.5 hours to install - after arriving on time, they never even took care of me till 7:15am. At 10:22 AM I am still sitting here waiting for the install to be completed! Absolutely the worst customer service - if you need a hitch installation - I do NOT recommend this store!

Overcharged me $700 for an $80 rental and claimed to send me a refund. After contacting them again they never sent a refund and didn’t leave any notes about our interaction.It has been two weeks and I haven’t received a refund. Really hate that it is this hard to not screw your customers.

Even though the hourly employees are nice the manger Mike does not call you back if you have any issues. You are promised one thing and when it is not done correctly there is no one that can help you.Called the 1-800 number multiple times with still no call back. You cant even get help from the location when you go in person.The location is understaffed but it has still been weeks and still not help from the location or manager.

They have changed management and staff so much the location has gotten worse. They cancel reservations without your permission. Trucks are not serviced and kept up. Go to get trailers and are missing or stolen so you cant get one. Sometimes the store is not open when it is suppose to mainly on Sunday. The new staff look like homeless people. Clothes are dirty. No uniforms so you cant tell they are an employee. Bring your truck in during business hours and still showing not checked in. Staff doesnt wear face mask but you put on your website the safety of COVID 19. They need to work on management.

Manager unresponsive . Rented a outdoor covered storage spot and still don’t have proper access after 4 months and no call backs. The one day we caught him on-site he said he was busy. Lights at the outdoor storage are out at night too and have been for months from what we can tell.

Recently moved from Raleigh to Michigan and needed a one way trailer. Originally had reservations at the Capital Blvd location but there were unable to get the lights working on the 6x12 trailer I rented. They directed me to this location and Carlton and the GM were awesome. Got me all set up including creating a new ground for the lights. Customer service was top notch and would recommend this location to all Triangle residents.

Not only having purchased packing supplies here, I also stored my belongings. When I went to move out the electronic security gate was locked. I was there after hours. I was able to call the phone number on the card reader, speak with a human being AND have them remotely open the gate for me. My most favorite U-Haul of all.

We have rented from Uhaul over 7 times in the past two months. This location is the WORST! They lie about the original gas level to upcharge when you return. We were charged $16 for less that $5 in gas. They try to cover themself with some bogus option that you are supposed to correct their mistake before driving off. Krystle was no help and has totally caused us to warn everyone to AVOID THIS LOCATION!!!!!

For a first time renter, the process was smooth and painless. The breakdown I was given of expectations, guidelines to follow and rules to obey, as well as contractual obligations was absolutely splendid because it gave me everything I needed to know in a straightforward and easy to understand manner. Also helps that we got a brand new van with less than a couple hundred miles on it so it was a dream to drive - no mess, no dirt, and the engine was just a quiet hum. One of the better UHaul rental places Ive given my money to, thats for sure.

This is by far the best U-Haul in the Raleigh/Cary/Garner area...I will not use anyone else! They are very helpful, very friendly, and focus on getting you taken care of fast. Access to the building and equipment is well thought out and makes it easy to navigate when towing a trailer or driving a large U-Haul truck.

Went there to buy boxes. Employees were extremely friendly and greeted me as I got out of my car. An associate helped me pick out the boxes I needed and showed me bundle options. The transaction process was very quick and easy. They informed me that they would buy back any unused boxes and the associate loaded the boxes in my car for me. I would highly recommend doing business with them as they are friendly, fair, and will help you any way they can.

The online system is difficult to navigate. The second time I’ve tried using it to rent a truck and run into problem both times. I would give up bacon for a decade before I tried to rent a truck from U-Haul again. Store associates were no help. Called “marketing manager” and it went to voicemail with as of the time of this review no returned call. I truly hope corporate reads this.

(Theres a reason its busy there : because everybody knows that this is the best place to come for U-Haul !) By the way, they were able to do my 2 hour job in just half the time !

UDPATED REVIEW: After my initial 1-star review stating I was unable to contact this location by phone, we ended up visiting in person. The service was OK, if a bit slow, and we rented a van several weekends in a row. My original comment stands however; you cant get anyone to pick up the phone at this place and will have to just walk in to get service.

This young man went the extra mile for me when I needed an issue resolved with tow hitch wiring. The parts were on backorder but he chased them down and then kept me informed of status so that the install could be done at my convenience.

Scheduled an appointment to get a trailer hitch installed on my car here. Had to wait over 45 mins for them to go to a different Uhaul to get the mounting hardware for the hitch. I called ahead and made an appointment in order for them to be prepared and ready for me. Upon leaving my car was rattling like crazy. They broke part of my heat shield while installing my hitch. I had to fix it myself by driving a screw through it into a plastic section underneath my car when I got home. Not impressed and wouldnt recommend.
