I am going to try to post this without crying. I lost my first fur baby that I’ve had of my own in May after a short/aggressive battle with lymphoma that we did not know about until after his sudden passing. I swore then I would NEVER EVER adopt a dog again it was too hard. But fast forward the past week and a half or so I felt like my heart was ready to love another fur baby. I contacted several rescues, visited two different shelters as I needed a hypoallergenic dog due to husband’s allergies and it was a struggle. I saw a mini schnauzer posted on this page Thursday and I thought it was really a long shot but I reached out anyways. Then I got to meet him that night after so a wild ride to get there. And from the minute I talked to someone, walked in the door and when we left as a family it was an amazing experience. I can not brag on these people enough, they were amazing. And they have such a tough freaking job but they are still so kind and helpful. And when I called the next day because I’m a helicopter Mama and was worried about him not eating the day after being neutered they were so kind and helpful. I can not thank them enough for bringing me my newest fur baby. I love him so much already and he has adjusted so well in such a short time. And we love his name so much, welcome to the family Mochi! Thank you so very much for everything. 💚💚

Garland Instagram is advertising this location everyday, however upon arrival to the location we saw that it is closed INDEFINITELY.Why would you advertise your pets if no one can adopt them?! That just doesn’t make sense.We went to rock way adoption center and they were AMAZING !

The shelter staff here are amazing. We adopted a sweet puppy and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

This place seems to be the complete opposite of the Garland animal shelter. That place is gloomy and somewhat depressing, whereas the adoption center is a breath of fresh air. The volunteers are all incredibly kind and helpful. They explain everything thoroughly. Honestly its a very nice place.

Buyer beware. We adopted 2 kittens almost 3 weeks ago and have now discovered they have ringworm. They both had scabby bits on their head and back when we got them but we assumed it was just from play fighting with the other cats and didn’t think anything of it until the scabby bits never went away and now me and my partner both have ringworm as well. These animals need to be tested and treated not only for the basic things but as well as ringworm. As far as I know, with this being so contagious, the whole place is riddled with ringworm. Please be careful. Wish they would take responsibility and check all animals and clean the heck out of that place. They don’t check this stuff because they want whoever adopts these animals to deal with it and be stuck with a hefty vet bill. Shame on this place! Oh, they also both have ear mites too. So THANK YOU GARLAND PET ADOPTIONS. This place is pure animal abuse.

Of course its a sad place due to the nature of it, but the staff were nice and helpful. You can see all available pets online. We donate our old sheets and towels, please do the same for all the fur babies!

I am glad this place is there for the animals. But if I am going to be completely honest, the ladies working there are slightly rude and abrasive. I have been here twice over the last month and both times the same ladies were on staff and made me and my kids uncomfortable. We were going to volunteer for this organization and my kids said they didn’t want to after meeting the ladies that were working the location. They really just need some friendly, courteous and outgoing people to work this location...not some mean cat ladies who are stuck up.

When we got our kitten it became apparent the same day that he had kennel cough. A week later I saw a small mark on his ear didnt think anything about it 2 weeks later its blown up into full ringworm all over his ear and mouth. Im extremely unhappy that 2 easily spreadable sicknesses came into our home and my household and other cat might catch it, expecialy since the kitten has been sleeping with us every night and on our pillows. I didnt expect to have to have vet bills 3 weeks in. If my kitten has it other animals at this place most likely have it too. Edit: came back from the vet thanks for the 500$ bill.Edit 2: took him for his check up he has ear mites, do you guys even vet check them?

Came for a puppy for our daughter and me and my mother ended up with two puppies to take home I love it staff is very friendly and help finding your furry friend to take home !

Garland does a great job treating there animals with kindness and this outlet exemplifies it wonderfully.

This place is the best, they do amazing work and to thinks its ran by volunteers. I cant believe how helpful they are and how willing they are to find good homes for animals in need. I suggest everyone should come check out the P.A.C. (pet adoption center) today and see to wonderful puppies and kittens. Even if you cant take one home just give them so tlc ( tinder love and care), because it makes a world of difference.

This is in an old building but its very cozy inside. It smelled very strongly of animals when I walked in which is why I took off a star. The cats looked taken well care of but there werent many dogs out in kennels in the front, maybe 5 or 6 of them. I heard more dogs in the back which I thought was odd but they were probably in recovery after surgeries, etc. I saw tons of Pit Bulls on their website.PSA: Please adopt a Pittie if you can. They get a bad rap as an aggressive breed but it entirely depends on how well you take care of amd treat them. Ive known so many sweet, gentle and well trained Pit Bulls. There are apartments and private landlords who will accept them. Call an Apartment Locator or a Realtor to find out which ones. These dogs need homes too. 😥

Great place to adopt a pet or volunteer to help out the animals and your community

Beautiful place full of love and hope. This place is ran by volunteers, not paid employees, and they do all they can to make sure the lives of as many animals, have their best opportunity, at finding their forever home. We have gone many times to visit the pets there, take pictures of the adoptable animas, to share on social media, and take donations before. It has always been a pleasant experience, and hope that many more people get involved in being part of helping a little one in their journey towards a forever home.

I come here often, donate pet food or money when I can.One day we found a pair of baby kittens and brought them here so the lady could give me some direction as to where I should go, she was extremely rude and told me to take my kittens away to the shelter, she didnt even want to look at them. Everyone knows the garland shelter is no place for baby kittens, I called about 20 rescues and finally one took them in. I understand rescues are fed up with kittens being dropped off but sending them to a shelter is a death sentence.

The people are great and you can tell they care about their work with the animals. Ive done some volunteer work with them. It would be good for Garland to update the facility. The cat area is tiny and depressing with no window.

Adopted an adorable black kitten on December 29th, named Agnes! Her name was changed to Noel and she’s been the love of lives, so precious and precocious. Today a tragic incident happened that took her from us. I have been crying for 4 hours. She completely captured our 💕. We will be looking for a replacement shortly♥️

Incredibly caring staff. You can tell that everyone who works there loves what they do. The inside is clean and organized beyond what you would expect. This is an amazing place to bring your pets for sterilization or to adopt rescued pets. Truly wonderful place

Worst experience of my life. They were so disorganized it worried me. I ended up leaving broken hearted and feeling sorry for the animals there.I gave them the number of a specific cat and they had a hard time finding him. No one could give me any info on the cat. There was no mention in his online ad that he had an ear that had problems, no mention of his high strung personality. That he was aggressive.At one point I was taken to the bonding room which is a room with adult cats freely roaming. It would have been nice to have alone time with the cat in a private space. I was really interested in the cat until he slapped me.I also discovered that they were telling me the cat was declared when he wasnt. They also had paperwork for wrong cat and that really surprised me.I could not get any answers from them that I felt were straight. I wish that cat well. If I couldnt trust what they were telling me I knew this was not going to be a good match for me.I will not give them another chance.

I brought my dogs here during a low cost pet vaccination clinic. It was pretty well organized although they could use more signs with instructions on them explaining the check in process. A couple out front and a couple more inside would cut down on the confusion. They had a lot of dogs and cats up for adoption which all looked well taken care of. The place itself was very clean and didnt smell like saddness, which can easily happen at animal shelters. All in all Im very thankful for the clinic and glad theres a place like this for adoptable animals.

The staff were super helpful and patient with us. Also public servants like firefighters and teacher get adoption fees waived!

I came in here today and I believe her name is Kimberly was rude I was interested in one of the dogs they had and I told her I live in apartment because one of the volunteer had said that some dogs require a backyard and she said she needed to see a paper from the apartment saying they allow Pit Because she said alot of apartment complex dont allow it and I told her Ive seen residents with pitbulls and she oh Im sure you have but they just probably havent gotten caught thats why And then she told me that I should just try going to the Animal Shelter instead. Idk why she acted that way

The place was really busy, but the staff was polite and courteous. It surprised us how quickly they took care of both our pups and seemed happy to answer our questions despite how busy they were. They were good with both the dogs too.

Okay, lets be clear- this place isnt perfect. But theyre doing their best but they are underfunded and understaffed. Ive gotten both of my fur babies from this shelter, one came with pretty severe fleas and the other was a bit underfed. HOWEVER, Ive never had a bad experience dealing with the staff. Theyre trying. Its clear that they deal with a bunch of idiots all day. If the staff is crappy with you, you probably started it.

We have used them for years for vacinations (much cheaper than the vet and less wait time) my daughter used them for spaying a stray she adopted and we had no problems at all . they are very good at what they do and at very little stress to the dogs. my Molly hardly even knows she got shots or had blood taken. They are great.

We got our Daisy from here, and shes the sweetest dog! We love the staff and the environment.

The lady there gave us attitude from asking a simple question. As if we knew what she knew. Some people shouldnt be allowed to work. Looked like peggy hill with glasses and brown hair.

Its nicely laid out, big open space to get yourself acquainted with your forever baby. I ended up going to the dog pound instead but the adoption center is a wonderful addition.

I went there for the T.C.A.P. low cost pet vaccination event, this was the closest location to Terrel TX. I was pleased to have discovered Garland Animal Services, their location, was clean, the staff was very kind, and the animals that they had waiting for adoption, appeared to be clean, healthy, Happy, and and taken great care of.

Horrible facility that has a MAJOR communication issue between it’s very inconsiderate staff and medical team. I hope someone investigates you, and shuts down your disgusting excuse of a public animal facility. I would rate negative stars if google had an option.

Took my kitten here 7 months ago for her shots, then used the TCAP services to get her spayed. Was very pleased with staff and services. When she needs her rabies and other shots Ill be coming back. Its much cheaper than the vets office and they give them a mini health check.If I ever get another that needs spaying or neutering Ill definitely use TCAP again. They are partnered with the City of Garland for these services and I appreciate them coming to Garland so I and others can get low cost shots and surgeries closer to home.The Garland Pawsability staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you for your service.

Adopted my 85 pound PeeWee on Feb 2018. He is an American Bully. He was so sad in that stainless steel cage. Went to the Romper Room to play with him, as I love big doggies, he and I hit it off. I adopted him that day, but went back the next week to pick him up. He had had a bad life before being surrendered to the shelter. He had no idea what a Vienna sausage was or sliced cheese, doggie biscuts, or kisses. He has been with me now a year and is just starting to come out of his shell. Tail wags and kisses. Snuggles under the covers at night while sleeping. Hes been a real joy to me and I love him dearly. Im widowed and have thoroughly enjoyed his company. Thank you Garland Pet Adoption Center for my new buddy. I have pre and post adoption photos, just dont know how to post them.As for as the staff...I was treated very well and just maybe, if you had a bad experience, they were just having a bad day that day. We can all have them from time to time. I say, CUDOS to the VOLUNTEERS of this place. Its got to be hard working for free and dealing with the public. Always look in the mirror before we judge. It was a complete zoo. Disorganized, and they tried to tell us a cat we were interested in was declawed when he wasnt. The Animal Shelter was just as bad. I was mortified by both places. I am not even sure we met the right cat to begin with. They could not find his number.
