What you have all said has also been true for our family!My 5 stars today go to the techs who have come to my house to fix, reset, replace..... many times. We have always had great quality techs come from Softcom. Chris came today and was super efficient and great to work with! So thankful to have this type of person come into my home for repairs. Thanks, Chris! Hope you get a raise but mostly I hope Softcom can get it together so more of us don’t want to jump ship everyday and you can keep your job!So far, 1 hour since the repair, everything is working significantly better! Yay!

Sold my house and moved away, called to let them know and was told they couldnt close my account and would continue charging me a monthly internet fee without the outside antenna and inside POE recovered. I Informed them I no longer live at the house and have no access to the home and no contact information for the new homeowners. Was instructed by customer service there was nothing they could do, even though there was no contract signed between both parties and only given an email address to their corporate office to try and fix this issue. Multiple times during the conversation customer service requested that I make an appointment allowing them access to a property I dont own anymore, which is illegal. When asked for proof of a signed contract or anything else stating my agreement to the terms of service I was denied. Sorry SOFTCOM, you cant keep charging someone every month for internet service they 1)requested to be cancelled 2) have no access to anymore. You can charge them for the equipment but continuing to charge for internet service is illegal and will get your business recommended to BBB. Your policy works fine if you want to just cancel softcom and arent moving but its as low IQ as it gets when it comes to people who have moved away. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SOFTCOM AGAIN, luckily my bank blocked their ability to auto draft future payments from my account..

The service is terrible. The system slows down to almost nothing several times a day and nightly. The signal always seem to fail after business hours or on weekends. I can never go on vacation without loosing my internet and my security camera systems. It is probably the cheapest in town but definitely not worth the price. I am willing to pay more for a stable connection .

The Internet connection will completely shut off without warning at any given time day or night. This is incredibly frustating with all the teleconferences I have now. Worse, you never know how long it will be out....sometimes 5 minutes, sometime a couple hours.

Ive read alot of complaints on here about how terrible the service is. I really believe that most peoples problems are due to their own equipment or user error. Sure its expensive internet compared to other ISPs however if you live out of town youre kinda limited. Great customer service from the office crew and great service from the installers. Im coming from Xfinity internet that was super fast however i did experience a fair amount of outages and constant issues with gaming. In the short time Ive had softcom ive had 0 outages or slowdowns and all my internet uses have worked flawlessly. Try them for yourself before you simply read all of the negativity here.Update 4/27- Really hope you guys have something in plan to justify this over starlink. 10mbps vs 100 for near half the cost. Wouldnt mind if i was at least hitting 35ish with a sub 100 ping but it would be foolish for me to continue once thats rolled out.

I have been with Softcom for 5+ years now. I pay $159.99 every month for half of their service. My internet is constantly dropping. Every time I call in, when I can because they do not have 24/7 tech support, its always a problem with my equipment. Im on my third router because that is always their story. They never offer to actually come check that their equipment on my property is working and connected appropriately. Its takes at least 24 hours when I take my router in for them to diagnose. I pay a lot of money for my internet to be out half the time. Do they offer discounts for my time of no use, nope. We need our internet especially in this time. My husband is a teacher, he needs to teach class remotely for now. Did they offer a discount for teachers in this time, nope. Three other people in my house have homework to do, cant do that without service. All I can do is hope they might possibly change. I wont hold my breath.

The service is not worth the amount we are being charged. We have to call all the time to get them to un-throttled the service. The streaming is terrible and is buffering is maddening. No 24/7 customer service for technology issues and they should have 24/7 since the service is so bad!I don’t want a fake thank you! Just fix it and make sure it stays running for all your packages!!! Stop throttling the service to get us to buy a more expensive package.Say thank you by fixing the streaming issues, the connections, and Implement 24/7 customer service! So we can get help when it isn’t working!

I live out of state, Softcom called to schedule equipment upgrade here in CA, initial appointment had to be cancelled last minute but representative was gracious and rescheduled. We received a reminder phone call the day before. Jessie arrived today and quickly updated my equipment and was very nice answering my questions. When I asked about changing to wireless, he made suggestions and confirmed price which I agreed to. I am happy with no cords and service I got from both the representative and technician!!!

You guys have the worst internet and customer service. Been with out internet since Friday 3/20/2020 called in Friday to try to see if they can fix it told me I had strange readings from my router and still no update and still in the dark. No internet at all in the time you guys need to get in check real quick this is not how you should treat a customer. Have had the same spotty internet for over 2 months now and still get no help on your guys end.

Ive been with Softcom Communications for probably about 6 years or so. Their technology is always improving. Loving their new 4G LTE connection. The connection is more stable vs what I had prior. We have occasional downtime, however nothing compared to the old line of sight tech we had on the roof prior.I have no beef about the Softcom price increase. However I feel it needs to be more affordable if you go from 8 down to 10 down. Its a $50 increase for 2 mbps more speed. And then you go from 10 down to 50 down at a cost no consumer can really afford. It would be nice if they offered a 15 or 20 down package at a $150 price point. Its something I would pay for. Hopefully their team looks into an additional speed package around this price range. The $349 is too steep.Will continue to be loyal. Just hope more package options are being discussed for 2018.

If you get a survey and they say you get something for doing it. Dont expect to get anything. It will just go to error page. we have had service with Softcom for many years. It is not what I had hoped for but they are the only service out here. They dont care if your internet service is slow or doesnt work. There is too many people on computers anyway. Isnt wireless broad band suppose to be faster? We never could get the amount we were told we would get. There are always problems. The price keeps going up and service is going down. They were better when they were small and more personable. yes there are hidden fees. They dont always tell you until last minute. Thought we would get more than 3Mb. why is wireless broadband advertised for 60.00 and we pay 75.00 and have less speed and sometimes cant use it at all. Just wondered.

We have been with Softcom for about a year and have found its service to be excellent. The internet speed obtained is as represented. Service has been consistently good; there has been virtually no outages. Not understanding the negative reviews on this site. Softcom provides great internet service for us rural folks.

The internet will cut out at least once a day and requires a restart and it will disconnect and reconnect about every 20 minutes.The past few days it has been swapping from not working to working properly and then back to not working with each mode lasting about an hour. Dont even bother you pay full price for something you dont even get half the time .

We pay for 6 megabytes a second but hardly ever achieve 700 kb/s. The service is incredibly unreliable. It is constantly down or so weak that it may as well be down. Dont advertise a reliable rural internet service if you cant deliver.

You can have fair service if you let them put new holes in your roof everytime someones tree grows up and gets in the way. They must keep moving the antenna from one spot on the roof to another unless your neighbors cut down their trees.

It was grossly overpriced for an unreliable connection. We had to reset our POE adapter mutliple times a day. Customer service was really no help to us. It cost close to $300 for installation (keep that in mind). They leave the mast on your house and the cable through the wall after you cancel your service.We switched to ADSL for a faster 14Mbps down for $30 a month... This price is with no contract and no data cap as well. Though the upload speeds are slightly slower at 1.4Mbps. It is justified in the cost (no installation fee) and reliability .Their response to pricing and reliability is a simple copy and paste answer. Hardly any fact to it aside from contact details.I would not recommend this to a friend of family member. Glad we were able to switch!

Guys, I love your company, youre the only ones in Rural Lodi that provide an unlimited connection on a decent price. Ill be completely honest, I wish I was getting a little better download whem it comes to my connection. Maybe like a mb. More or something but Im not going to cherry pick. You can support me on a 6mb up/1.5 down connection running World of Warcraft and ps4 party chat is still seemless...Let us all not forget... PEOPLE! Softcoms ping is amazing! On a multiplayer game that forces my connection to go to the east coast it only puts me at 140ms. Do you know what satellite does? Freaking 6,000! 6,000 ping!Like I said, someday if you could provide me a little more of a higher speed for 80$ Id bee ever so happy but you know what? Unlimited internet, connection that rarely interrupts and if it does its not for very long (seriously, 20 minutes is alright), and decent rural download/upload/ping speeds. Its a darn good deal for those of us in the rural area.

Service is horrible. I pay $99 a month for 8 mbps and average about 2.5. Customer service is extremely poor and I always have to deal with a negative attitude whenever I call. Unfortunately they are only provider in my area so they get away with it...

Poor internet service and poor customer service, basically was just told to go ahead and leave as a customer. When you’re paying $110 month for 8 mbps you really need to step up your customer service. Leaving for Hughes Net, rather be treated like garbage and have 25mbps

Where I live there is no DSL or cable, so fixed wireless is my best option. I pay $80/mo. for 6 mb download service which has really been 2-3 for a few mos. Someone came out, repaired it, and gave me a taste of 15-20 mbs for a day or two before throttling me down to 5.5, which I thought was a bit stingy. Ookla reports US average download is 10x my current speed for half what I pay, but for that Softcom charges $350/mo.So I cant help feeling a bit burned. But it beats dialup...

My family pays for 7 mb/s speeds and a good majority of the time were lucky to even have a tenth of that. Discounting the near daily loss of internet connection, Im having trouble finding reasons to stay with this company beyond the fact that they are one of the few companies in the area that service rural areas.The only thing I cant complain about is the unlimited data, which is nice for a family of four.Update: Feb 2021 - Service continues to be inconsistent and slow speeds, dropping below 2Mbps even 1Mbps during the evening and early morning hours when Im the most active with school and gaming. Especially on the weekend when youre unable to reach any sort of customer service until the next week. And when you do get ahold of them, they say they cant do anything about the slow speeds because I didnt call them during business hours. (No ones there to answer the phone when the issue is happening). We will be getting Starlink as soon as it is available to us.

70$ for 4 megabytes, the internet always stops working for at least 10 minutes a day. They take at least 15 minutes to answer the phone. This company treats there costumers like garbage. I wish companys wouldnt take advantage of people like that, especially a family company!

We just left after several years of disappointing service. Couldnt be on the Internet in evening because it was so slow, couldnt watch Netflix or WWE network (my sons love)They gave us a four-hour window to take down satellite (I had to be home because of fence/gate issues), and didnt show after 5 hours. I finally called and they said it would be at least another hour?!?!? A courtesy call is the LEAST you could do!
