I have been a loyal client of Shannon’s since 2018 and she’s done my hair multiple times and i loved the way she worked my hair, however, i recently saw her and i could just tell she wasn’t that devoted to her work anymore. she completely butchered my haircut and when i asked if she could fix it she said she’d reschedule me to fix the cut. i showed up promptly to the salon and she made me wait over 20 minutes, (i get that stylists run behind, but she had already told me to come later than my original appointment time) i ended up leaving because i couldn’t wait all afternoon, and when she told me she was ready, i notified her that i left, she “tried” to reschedule me but actually never replied. i have always been willing to pay for her work because i thought she was extremely talented, and she even raised her prices but did not meet her quality work… for someone who has been loyal to her, she disappointed me this time. i would not recommend her to anyone going forward

I visit Ivan Pastor, barber every 3 months for my haircut. You have to set an appointment with him through his online appointment system which is convenient. You are treated to a first class barber experience. No waiting around. The appointment you receive is exactly for you and you only. Me coming home after my appointment. Happy customer.

Meleah is going to take care of you 100%. She is patient, knowledge, and easy to talk to. She will make sure you are getting the look you are wanting. I have dark long curly hair and am constantly unsure of how I want to change it up. She has done several balayages on me, helping me go lighter, then darker. I just went darker again with a pop of color and she nailed it. She has a great range of knowledge and is always teaching me more about my hair care and the quality of products to use without being pushy to HAVE to buy. I’m the type of client with 50 million questions and she answers them all. I’ve been seeing her for 2 years, and have no intention of going anywhere else. Oh, and she is very considerate of your time, and gets you out when she promises. She always has masks (on herself and for you) and is very sanitary. If you are the type of client who is starting to experiment with color any needs a patient stylist -she is the one!

Hair by Meleah is the absolute best! She does a great job and really listens to my wants and concerns. She makes hair care suggestions without feeling pushy or that I have to buy the product. She has an open door policy if there is anything that I don’t like or just does not lay right the next day.She is AMAZING with my daughter who is 6. She is Super sweet to her and listens to all of the indecisiveness that comes with a 6 year old. Then once the cut is done Meleah does her “princess curls” and glitter spray and my daughter just loves it so much.She makes us both feel so special and gorgeous. Will not go to any other hair stylist.

Absolutely amazing place to do your hair

Apparently you have to make an appointment ahead of time I saw no number to do this lady that opened the door for the other one says were not going to take you today were not going to take you. I wasnt offered an appointment no information whatsoever my better half my children and my great-grandchildren will no longer be going to this place again. Absolutely a horrible way to run your business into the ground.

I go to Russell Owen Wells, a hair stylist at Sola Salon Studios. He uses Davines natural Italian products, which are gentle on hair. The color lasts without turning brassy and dry. His blow-outs leave hair feeling silky but not oily. He is intuitive to what you want but not afraid to clue you in about the potential drawbacks to a style that may not work for you. He doesn’t load add-on processes to boost up the cost, but will give you your money’s worth. At my first visit, I sat for hours but when I finally left, lots of residual damage was gone (I had a build-up of dark color in back and faded brassy blond in front) and my hair was in wonderful shape.

I have been going to Brenna for a year now. It took me SOOOOO long to find a great stylist in Gainesville when I moved here but I finally found Brenna. Shes amazing!!! Always gives me perfect color and cuts.

Short story: Shannon Lindsay Cross denied to have me as a customer TWICE as a NEW client. So she select you (YOU don’t select her).*Normally I never write review but for me this experience was not nice at all.Long story and details: first time she denied to have me was because I only wanted a cut and not coloring my hair. I was ok with that and I understood her point that she only accept NEW customer that wants color and cut. Months later I decided to have some color, cut, olaplex, etc. I contact her because I was not sure what booking section select. She ask me for photos and goals. I send her photos and my goals for a healthy hair and I explain to her what I wanted after good and bad experience in the past with my curly hair (I have being working very hard to get my natural and healthy hair back). I was clear in what I wanted did not provide ANY strict instructions on how to do it. It was as simple as a wet cut, baby lights without bleach because for years that had work for me. So she just wrote back saying she is not interested in having me as a client (I think because I was specific on what I wanted). I even explain that I was not sure about what to do with some other details and that she can maybe help me. I know the hair stylist is the artist but I also know what I want and that I am the one that pays the bill. I also want to add that I have some basic knowledge about my hair and this profession because I have family members (very close to me) that also have her same profession so I grow up spending a lot of my childhood in a beauty salon (this is why it took me months to decide and select a new professional because I just move to the area and this is also why it was so shocking to me that a real professional can denied a new client and provide this type of customer service). Maybe because of my curly hair? She just mention that she is the artist and I she do the hair the way she wanted and that she don’t want to work with such a tight constraints (just because I answer the question of what I wanted or what are my goals). So then I have to pay for something that is not what I really wanted. I have never had this issue before. I know by photos that her work looks great (reason why I select her) BUT is also very important to considered the client, being professional is also have ethic, respect and provide happiness to the customer with whatever the customer wants. I hope every new client read this because if you book an app as a new customer and after waiting and make all the arrangements she just tell you in the appointment that she will not take you as her customer, that will be the worse experience ever. Hope this also help her to provide better customer service.

I love the place for being a clean friendly space with small individual rooms. I personally go to Hairful of Secrets. Seems like people get along pretty well together and generally very pleasant experience. Can be a little hard to find without GPS help though.

Shannon Cross is literally the only person in the world who I will allow to cut my hair. I moved away from Gainesville last year and tried to find a new stylist, but no one compared to Shannon, so Ill be making the ~3 hour trip every few months just to go to her. Shes seriously incredible. She has tons of experience and knows everything there is to know about what looks good. Ive never walked out of her salon chair with my hair looking anything less than completely amazing, and I cant speak highly enough of her. Id give her a 10-star review on here if I could, she is genuinely that fantastic.

Awesomeness experience

Anna Hongisto at Elemental is the best. She has free coffee, water, beer, and wine. Shes very kind to. We created a new hair style we called mine the Locklear. Ive been seeing her for a few months and she does a great job cutting hair. If anybody needs a haircut come see Anna shes awesome, shes in suite 21.

Some people here are out of reality, this is Gainesville, so you are not a hair stylish working in LA or New York, your prices should be for Gainesville. $75 for a hair cut??

I recently went to Oliva Walters to get my hair dyed a vibrant red, now im stuck with magenta and pink. I started with black-brown hair, and she said bleaching would be fine along with the red, it may just be a little darker than expected ; I agreed to this. She said she would spread it out over two days to give my hair a break and I trusted her to think that would be enough time because I was expected to have a professional doing my hair. She did all the bleaching, cutting, and dying and it still turned out a very dark magenta with hot pink undertones. From talking to a few other hairdressers, ive found out that this could be because she didnt let the bleached hair rest long enough and we should have waited another 24hours ; as a professional she should have definitely known this. I payed a lot of money for this when I really shouldnt have. Now, she texts me the day after calling me a brat and telling me how terrible my behavior is. All that happened in this salon was me crying because now my hair is magenta and not candy apple red. She still got payed, and no inappropriate words were said. She is very unprofessional and rude. Ive looked at other hair jobs she has done, and the red came out fine, she should of admitted that she messed up. Never coming back to this salon again, and unless you want a completely different color than what you asked for, I suggest you dont either.
