Replaced a radiator and damaged it, and also installed the wrong cap causing it to leak badly when heated up to temperature. Would not come good for what they did wrong. Very poor communication, upset with the service provided.In response to your comment below...On April 5 you sent a receipt that we requested, after having us run around trying to get the radiator replaced under warranty, not helping in the process at all. We also asked for some compensation for labor cost, as the car leaked even before we got it back, and you didnt even bother to even give us a reply. It took this Google review for you to even acknowledge a problem. That makes us even more upset that you had no problem taking advantage before it made you look bad.

I really appreciated having thorough, knowledgeable and skilled people helping me with my car. This is not the place for a band aid. They helped me restore my car, not just keep it on the road. Ok so at first we thought that our experience was not going to be good. They changed a part and took our money and the problem persisted. But when we explained our concerns and gave our input about what we thought the actual problem was, they repaired the problem and did not charge us, not even for parts. Thats a rare thing. We expected to at least have to pay an additional hundred dollars for the part. Thanks for helping us out and listening to us. Im sorry if I came across really strong, other mechanics have tainted my expectations. You changed them for the better.

Stan was absolutely wonderful. They worked on my 2003 Honda. It had been sitting dormant for a year. A/C was not working. Stan kept me informed of the repairs as they happened and was super friendly. A/C is fully functional now.

I have used Ahrens Auto numerous times over the last few years. They have always been courteous and promptly called with updates about the work they were performing. All of the repairs they have done have held up, without needing any further work. I would highly recommend them as your Gainesville area mechanic.

I paid a $100 to get a engine diagnostic after the results I was told it was the throttle position sensor I changed the throttle position sensor in is still doing the same thing I called them to ask can I bring it back to get it re scanned they said that I had to pay for it again such a ripoff

I was very impressed by all the Stay safe procedures they had in place from wiping down all car seats, steering wheel and dash to the touchless key exchange. I’ve been taking my car to Ahren’s for years and they have been great. Prices are fair and they fix the problems the first time. They also are on point when they tell me when my car will be ready, unlike a lot of other mechanics I’ve been to. I also appreciated how the last time I brought my car in, they were honest with me about what I needed to fix to get my car road worthy and what I could put off or not even worry about. Since I know nothing about cars, the trust with a mechanic is of course very important.

I highly recommend this place!!!! We will from now on take our vehicles only to Ahrens. We are also referring friends their way. They are kind,honest, fast and do excellent work.I had original went to Tire Plus on 43rd for a oil change. Tire plus informed me that I had a bad oil leak and it would take 14 hours to fix in addition it would cost $1,800. They told me they had to drop my transmission to fix the leak. I was very grateful they told me about the leak and that it needed to be fixed urgently. $1,800 is a lot of money and i needed my car desperately to go to work.We wanted to double check elsewhere for better pricing before we put down that much.My husband checked on Gainesville reddit and it recommend Ahrens. I call and told Ahrens Auto about the terrible leak I had. He got me right in. I showed him the receipt from Tire Plus about where the leak was.Ahrens Auto did their own diagnostics. The leak was NOT where Tire Plus had said it was ,it was NOT a 14 hour job and most importantly it was NOT $1800 Job!!!Ahrens Auto got my leak fixed under 2-3 hours and found were my leak actually was. I only paid about $300. We are so relieved and glad we double check and went to Ahrens Auto. we will be returning to them if we need any vehicle work.Thank you so much !!

Ahrens auto has wonderful customer service and does great work for a reasonable price. Dave set up my appointment and had my car in and out in a timely manner. They were even willing to work with me regarding the payment. Its always scary taking your car to some unknown mechanic but these guys were truly professional and took care of the honey do list for my car. They even recommended someone to fix the issue they couldnt (Nissan key replacement). 10/10 Would recommend and would come here again.

Close your eyes and try to imagine the absolute worst possible car mechanic nightmare experience you can dream up. Then picture the complete opposite of that. Yes, Ahrens is that good.I recently bought a 2004 Toyota Corolla, and within minutes of purchasing it, the check engine light came on and the car began to idle really high. It was the weekend, so all I could do was wait and try researching the problem in the meantime.My brother is a very talented mechanic, so Ive always been pretty spoiled. If I ever had a problem, I just brought my car to him and hed take care of it. However, my brother now lives halfway across the country, so I had to find a new shop. A quick Google search led me to Ahrens, and after reading through a dozen 5-star reviews, I didnt feel I had to look any further.I called Ahrens first thing Monday morning and spoke with David. He told me to bring the car in and theyd have a diagnosis by the afternoon. So I did.Not only did David call back with the diagnosis, but they were able to get the part and replace it all within 6 hours of my call! And I didnt even have an appointment!Lets face it - nobody likes to go to the mechanic. Its inconvenient and costly and theres always that concern of being ripped off or mislead. Im here to tell you that it doesnt have to be that way.I cant imagine bringing my car anywhere else. Ahrens is hands down the best service experience Ive ever had. Best auto repair in Gainsville.I had my spark plugs replaced.I had called the day before and was given an estimate. When I arrived the parts were there, the work was performed in the time period they had specified and the work was completed for less than their estimate.They were recommended to me by a man that has raced cars for over 40 years and they maintain his vehicles. I am completely satisfied and will use Ahrens Auto Service for all my automotive repairs.

After a delay that was not their fault, they rented me a car because I could not get back to High Springs, paid for it and took me to the rental agency. Could not have handled a tough situation better!Good people Honest people!

Nice people. Came in with my IS250 to get the suspension inspected and these guys so nothing wrong with it. Didnt even charge me. Alot of mechanics would have used this as an opportunity to extort some money out of me but not these guys. I have visited only once but theyve gained my trust.

If you like me to pretty much rather get mugged and ever go into a Honda dealership. Now that I think about it perhaps theyre not very different. Ahrens is always in a great job on our Hondas and our relatives Hondas. We appreciate their great service. Dave behind the counter does a great job keeping us informed. This service has always been good and their prices are reasonable. Theyre also very personal and what seems to have become a very impersonal World. Note they do all kinds of cars not just Hondas we just known for their Honda service.

Confirmed 5 times for my appointment date. Showed up waited for 4 hours and it was closed. I called the next week and the guy said umm I don’t know we were closed last week. Why on earth was my appointment confirmed if they knew they were closed for the week of the holiday. Bad business practice. Didn’t even apologize. Also found out they are double charging me for a 10 minute service calibrations. These people are absolutely aweful and I hope everyone realizes this and goes somewhere else

Don Ahrens, living legend.I like to do what I can myself on my Accord. I decided its time for new brakes and while I was taking things apart, decided to paint them. After the paint cured and it was time to Putnam things back together, I realized I couldnt get the seals back on properly myself.I called around and NO ONE wanted to do it, since its cheap and easy to just buy a rebuilt caliper.Then I called Ahrens. Don picked up the phone, asked how he could help, told me he doesnt usually rebuild calipers anymore, but hed get it done for me the same day!I drop them off and come back before closing, expecting them to be done. Its busy at Ahrens so its understandable for a set of calipers to not be priority.The shop closed but Don stayed behind.Now you can learn how to do it!And so he spent 45 minutes AFTER CLOSING to teach me how to rebuild my calipers. He charged me barely anything and then he showed me his Miata racecar. Awesome!!!TL;DR: I think I found my new mechanic!

(Premium Priced) oil change resulted in broken oil cooler seal and total loss of oil within 1 week. (Shop assumed no liability,) Fixed for $$$. Not trustworthy, not conciencious. Only ahrens could resolve my check engine light and erratic behavior at idle and stuttering at 40MPH. They diagnosed it to an O2 sensor and OCV. Problem solved.

The best kept secret in town! If you need your mode of transportation repaired, serviced, or just checked out, this is the place to go. Ive lived here for almost three years and have tried several different shops. I always left feeling as if I spent money for stuff not really needed and then suffered severe trust issues with my car, not convinced that the repair was done right, if at all, just waiting for it to leave me stranded at night on a dark country road with no cell service. A friend told me about Ahrens and I was like Who?. She absolutely swore by them. Her family has used them for years. After researching them on the web, I read nothing but glowing reviews, but was disappointed that they were import guys. (I own a car from one of the big American 3) My friend said, call them anyway, I bet they can fix it. Soooo, I did......AND....my experience was awesome!!!! I spoke first to David and he truly listened to my concerns. He asked me to bring the vehicle in and said that once his mechanic looked it over and found the reason for the noise, we could figure out the best thing to do from there. Once I brought it in, I got to meet not only David, but the owner, Mr. Ahrens, himself, and immediately, was made to feel like I was a longtime friend. I left my car with them fully expecting a call with a laundry list of stuff that it needed, because that has happened to me a bunch. Imagine my surprise that when David called, it was something simple and minor. The price was less then half of what I was expecting and was told it would be ready by the end of the day. Yay! I didnt have sustain on ramen noodles and PBJ sandwiches for weeks to pay for it. I agreed and when I went to pick it up, I was told that the mechanic wanted to speak with me. Oh no...here comes the list. BUT...guess what? Joey (thats his name), just wanted to show me the repairs he did, saving the old parts he had replaced and taking the time to talk to me about why I was hearing the noise I was hearing. He also took the time to show me why I didnt need the stuff that other shops said I did and things that eventually would need attention, but was ok for now. WHAT? NO LIST? After all the horrible experiences with other shops, I finally found my go-to car place. These guys are the real deal and my faith in finding a honest place that believes in taking care of their customers sincerely has been restored. Dont go to a place because its fancy looking on a main road. The place to have your car, truck, (import or not) fixed is at a little shop hidden downtown. Ahrens Auto is the best. Honest and fair independent business

No customer service. They wont call you back. They will nickel and dime you everytime. they checked a code for me saying that they would call me back when they found the problem. I called back at 4:30pm after not receiving a call all day and they said they couldnt help me and I would have to take it to the dealership.

If you want excellent service, fair prices, knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanics, then take your business to Ahrens.I would consider myself a hobby mechanic. When I cant perform something due to the lack of tools required or know-how, then I review the local shops extensively before I consider taking it anywhere. My previous experiences with dealerships have been decent with workmanship, but cost is absurd for Infiniti/Nissan. As you can see, I found Ahrens and they didnt disappoint.My car was having an over-heating issue and I couldnt find the problem after replacing everything I could think of and bleeding the air out of my cooling lines (that took two days alone). The two gentlemen that assisted me were David and Mike. They instantly found my fan clutch was faulty and then found the replacement motor I replaced for my other cooling fan had reversed polarity which didnt help my over-heating problem either. They fixed my fan clutch and I had them replace my belts while they were in the same place. They performed this in a timely manner to my surprise because they had plenty of other vehicles they were fixing.After driving my car for about an half hour, it started over-heating again! David told me to bring it in first thing in the morning because they had just closed shop. David and Mike spent three hours re-verifying the coolant system results from before and everything was testing normal except for driving it after 20 minutes. It turns out the thermostat I purchased from a local car parts store was a cheap replacement. Other Infiniti owners beware! Only purchase thermostats from Infiniti and save yourself the hassle (Its worth the $10 extra). My G35 is now running like she was new!They are a great team over there helping one another fix an issue while assisting other customers simultaneously. These guys have pride in their workmanship and that is worth every penny of the more than fair price. Thank you, David and Mike! You have a new customer that will spread the good word.

The service here is terrible!!! I dropped off my car and was told they would call me SOON with the diagnosis. I waited ALL day and received no call! Finally I called them at 4:30 just to hear they cant fix it but they are closing so I cant pick it up till the next day!
