I’ve been going to Billy auto repair for couple of years now and I can honestly say that the quality of work is great no issue easy communications. Will recommend to anyone that wants to deal with honest people I tell my friends and family to go there and they never had an issue either.

Had I been present at the scene of the younger childs accident on 8/24, the way the driver treated my family would have been completely different. First and foremost, if youre going to tow my vehicle to your yard a legible letterhead or card should be provided. She was handed an illegible hand written note, and when she attempted to confirm he laughed in her face. I was astonished, and had I known when he attempted to collect the vehicle after being informed he is not to tow as my wrecker was in route. Your family being involved in an accident and treated like trash because someone has to do their job? This is beyond any level of disgusting that I would have imagined from a business. This is only my first stop on a long road to bringing light to such garbage within this industry.

Out of the three other places Ive taken my car for work, Billys has been the best.Billy was quick to diagnose the problem, called me with a quote, and had it fixed AT LEAST twice as fast as everyone else. And he was very personable.Definitely going to be bringing my vehicle here from now on.

I wish there was more I could do for this company. Billy and chad are the partners that run this business and it’s owned in the family. They are some of the most genuine and helpful people I’ve ever met in the industry. I am a grad student with limited funds and both billy and chad were honest and patient with me in describing the issues I was having with my Jeep. I’m relatively mechanically inclined and usually do research on things before I decide if a shop has to handle it. Both gentleman diagnosed an issue that was throwing some of the engine error codes on my Jeep, but were honest about 2 other codes that were intermittent and they explained to me that they have no data or previous experience with these codes, so they didn’t waste my money or time trying to blindly fix things, which is what a honorable and genuine mechanic should do.Secondly, I dropped my vehicle off at the beginning of the week right before a holiday weekend and they told me that with their current business, it may not be done until after the holiday weekend. They went ahead and did a time consuming job ahead of schedule and got my vehicle back to me by Friday at a rate that was half of what a dealership would have charged, and in a lot more timely manner. At Billy’s, they so honest work and are not looking to make a few extra dollars off your issues. They will give you an honest opinion and usually work harder and faster than usual to make sure you get your vehicle back safely and efficiently. If you are in the Gainesville/Ocala area, Billy’s is the place to go

Had my car towed and my alternator replaced by Billy’s auto repair and towing , and ended up having an ac issue after picking up my car. I was worried I’d have to pay an arm and a leg since most experiences in the past with auto shops were horrible , but they took care of me! I highly recommend best auto repair experience I’ve ever had .... first time ever writing a review but they are definitely honest fair and good people will be using them for any and all future repairs

Billy and staff were amazing!!! I am from out of town and was here alone with my kids , Billy picked up my truck at a hotel had it fixed and brought back to me so I wouldn’t have to go through a mission with my kids. Very reliable, friendly, commutative, and cost was not crazy and was just an overall great experience!! We were driving up I-75 when the check engine light not only went on, but started flashing. Billy and his crew were friendly when they answered the phone and immediately got the F-150 in for a look over. They were so professional and kind! They may not be able to drop everything to look at your vehicle, as they did for us, but I am sure you will have a good experience with them.

A few miles north of Billy’s shop on our way from Atlanta to Lakeland on Easter Sunday afternoon, our check engine light decided to start flashing. We knew we should stop as soon as possible. We chose an exit and started googling good auto repair places nearby. Billy’s came up and was only a mile away. It had good reviews so we hoped for the best for Monday & got a hotel. My husband was at Billy’s shop before they opened Monday AM. They were slammed, but Billy squeezed us in, found the issue quickly, repaired the bad spark plug & ignition coil, charged us a reasonable amount and had us on our way before 3pm that same day! We were so very appreciative of his kindness in getting our car handled that day and as quickly as possible so we could get on our way! Kind, honest and fair! Great qualities to have with a good auto repair shop! His daughter, Cassie (sp?) working the front desk was friendly and assured us they would do what they could to help us out. Highly recommend Billy’s!

Billy’s towed my daughter’s car by mistake. They were supposed to tow a car of a different make, model, color, and of course tag number, parked at least 7-8 blocks away. My daughter went for a walk and came back to find the car missing. She called the police; who said no tow company had indicated they had the car, so we figured it had been stolen. After a frantic half hour, a Billy’s tow truck came back with the car. The driver unloaded it and keep repeating he had meant to pick up an Outlander (ours is a Highlander). He was not apologetic and left as my daughter was still talking to him. Driving home, she saw him getting the car he was supposed to tow. I called the shop and talked to Billy, who repeated falsehoods the driver had apparently told him (the right car was only a few blocks away; it was the same color, it was only a few minutes, and the driver apologized). He said it was a good up; I said you shouldn’t employ drivers who are so criminally negligent. Eventually he offered a free oil change. I wouldn’t trust any car with him.

So I just bought this conversion van in southern Florida. And Im gonna drive it back to Appleton WI. Van was running like a champ and then. Boom. It shut off. I called Billys auto repair. They came over with there brand new roll back. Loaded up me and the van. Took us to their shop. The driver had called ahead so there were 2 mechanics waiting to get rite on my van. Within an hour they had me back on the road again. ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. Thank you guys. 😁😎.

I wouldnt go anywhere else! The door on my van broke off and Billys took the time to take it off, see what was wrong, then put it back on again! Because I had a trip planned and couldnt leave my van there until the part arrived, he suggested I just pick the van up and come back when I had time- all for no charge! They really just care about their customers. Ended up getting an oil change that was quick and affordable. These people are certainly mechanics you can trust!

For some reason my previous review is not showing up, but they really deserve the bad review so I’m going out of my way to rewrite it. They misdiagnosed my car, charged me to fix it, I got it back unfixed and took it back to find out they fixed the wrong thing yet still charged me. Billy told me that he would at least not charge me the labor fee for the new repair and only charge me for the part. I have voicemail and email proof of him saying this, yet he still charged me labor the second time around. I also have 2 friends who used to be regulars here (key phrase USED TO) and they both said he gives them student discounts but he wouldn’t give me one. If you want a good repair shop in Gainesville then I strongly recommend AutoEr! :)This incident happened a few weeks ago but I’m still very upset about it because I am a college student so getting ripped off by $300 is a huge deal to me.Update: They keep saying another car place misdiagnosed it but I took it here for a SECOND OPINION. They were supposed to look at it and tell me if that’s what was wrong. That’s trhe whole reason I took it to a second place. Also, I agreed to the $300 because they told me on the phone that is the price of the part and that they did not charge extra for labor, but after I paid I looked at the receipt and saw that half of what I paid for was labor, which I have email and voicemail proof of Billy saying I would not be charged for. But I’m not as worried any more because I am waiting to here back from my lawyer :)

They towed my car on Wednesday afternoon because it would not start. I got it back on Thursday afternoon. It ended up being the battery. Thanks for the quick turnaround and a fair price.

Absolute best mechanic in all of Gainesville, FL! I went to Billys after going to a different mechanic the previous day, one who charged me $50 for a preliminary check (telling me things I already knew), and then tried to charge me almost $500 for a full diagnostic. I called around town and found Billys Auto Repair and spoke to Billy himself, who told me they always perform diagnostics for free. I dropped my car off in the morning the next day and a few hours later, Billy and his crew called me after performing a full diagnostic. They fixed the issue, and before I knew it, my car was ready for pick up. Billy and his wonderful staff are kind, personable, and efficient! I cannot recommend this mechanic enough, I will be returning again and again for any future car needs!

I am disabled and need my car to pick up food, go to doctor appointments, get my medication....It a very necessary thing for me.One night a neighbor knocked and showed me that one of my tires was flat...oh, oh. My car had been sitting because something was wrong with the shift lever.Now I really needed to find a car shop. I remembered my one meeting at Billy’s when my last car was towed and it was a lost cause, but everyone was so courteous that I promised myself that I would try this shop again.I am so happy that I did! Billy cantow cars in, but I have Geico, so that wasn’t an issue; Billy called me, told me the problem, quoted a price and went to work. It was aas went to a difficult problem, but he kept at it, reassuring me when I called to check in. I had a flat tire the other day and was stranded on 75. I called and spoke with a gentleman named Shannon. He was pleasant on the phone and arrived within the time limit he had given me (if not sooner it seemed like lol). He was so very helpful and pleasant upon arriving and got us up and loaded on the tow truck in what seemed like seconds. He towed us to a shop where we were able to get another tire. The entire ride was very pleasant and soothing considering we just got stranded on the side of the busy highway. I would highly recommend Billy’s. A loss of turbo power in an F250, while pulling a travel trailer, caused an immediate exit from I-75. My husband, myself, and our two dogs, drifted into the parking lot of a gas station, where smoke billowed from the tail pipes. Shannon showed up with the tow truck, was polite, courteous, extremely helpful, and saved the day for us. We ended up with his kindness and professionalism being the memory of the weekend. Shannon drove 80 miles on a rainy Tuesday during rush hour traffic to rescue me off I-75 after my engine blew out. Very considerate, and the guys at the shop were very frank with me in explaining that my car was dead as a door nail. Didn’t mess around, and only charged me for the tow! Set me up with a referral for a salvage yard in town and was able to get my car sold and taken away within the week. I’ll be taking my new car to these guys if anything goes wrong, and I recommend you do too.

Billys auto repair & towing got me quickly out of a jam today. The driver Shannon showed up with 15 mins of the call, brought a flat bed as I requested and got my car loaded up fast and to my normal mechanic all within a very short time. Super personable and nice driver and the service was very reasonably priced.

Could not be happier!! Someone always answers the phone, usually Billy. He and his staff (Jorge) are totally friendly and seem genuinely happy to help. Service was prompt and when comparing parts on itemized bill to wholesale prices, they are reasonable. Labor charges are more than fair, especially when compared to commercial shops. Most importantly, I felt confident that I was getting honest service. One month ago, I had a routine oil change at a different shop in town, and left with over $2,500 in estimates on recommended maintenance (for my 2003 Ranger, blue booked at $1,700 value). At Billys, he diagnosed my immediate problem (overheating engine), ordered parts (heater control valve, clamps, coolant) and fixed it within 24 hours for less than $200. I mean, it couldve been a head gasket...what do I know!? But there were no frills or extras or new hoses or radiators or thermostats pushed on me, and it was awesome. Thanks guys! Youre the best!!!

This business rocks. Very competent team of tow truck operators and mechanics. Owner is a pretty cool dude as well. Most importantly, they’re honest and won’t try to BS you. My father-in-law has an issue with his vehicle and they towed him and had him fixed and back on the road same day. They treated him right. Thank you a million times to Billy, Chad, and theyre crew for working on my car! I moved to the area not too long ago and I took a shot in the dark giving Billys a call to help me out with my car that had been broken down in a parking lot for a couple months. They towed it shortly after I called, and I was shocked by how efficiently and quickly they got my car running again. They were very honest/understanding and took the time to help me find low cost solutions, considering my car needed two major repairs in the same week. Definitely will be working with them again in the future. I highly recommend Billys if your looking for someone down to earth to work on your car that isnt just trying to empty your bank account.

I highly recommend Billys Towing Service. My teenager had a flat tire and we were in need of a tow for our van. I got their name off the web and called. I was glad someone answered the phone and they were there 25 minutes later. The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. He followed us back to the house and unloaded the car from a large flatbed. It was a fair price and I would definitely use them again.

Id just come home from work and was parking my car when I accidentally drove over the cement block at the top of the parking spot. I was unable to back up over it given that there was a change in the elevation of the parking spot and the soft ground in front of it. Long story short, Bill drove out to help me and had everything taken care of in no time! I spent hardly any time waiting and once there he was so kind and professional. This could easily have ruined my day but thanks to Bill and his excellent service I was able to carry on like nothing had happened!

We were so blessed to be referred to Billy’s from a random google search! Our truck in tow with our RV broke down headed home to Knoxville from Disney. Chad got the truck in right away, and had us back on the road with a new engine coil and spark plug in less than 2 hours. Our car was parked in valet at a local Gainesville hospital. When it was time to leave the attendant could not move it, the car wouldn’t shift. We were 3 hours away from our home and didn’t know anyone to call, then I remembered Google. Billy’s was the first in line and it had great Google reviews. I called them and a tow truck was dispatched to our location and arrived in less than 15 minutes. The driver was very courteous and professional. He had our trouble diagnosed almost immediately with the information called back to the shop. We had an estimate before we ever left the parking garage.Repairs were supposed to take about 3 hours, so they offered to take us wherever we wanted to go if we were interested and come back to pick us up once the car was finished. The customer service is amazing. The work was completed in the time stated and for a little less than the estimate even repairing something extra without additional charge. This business and the people who work there are exceptional. I haven’t experienced true customer service from any business in years so this was a very welcome surprise. Having people who care about their craft and deliver what they promise was a delight. Billy’s has the most dedicated staff, and Jordan is definitely their all-star employee. We called every locksmith company in the book before calling Billy’s, and Jordan was with us in 10 minutes and stuck with our malfunctioning door handle for over an hour before we got it opened. If you’re locked out or stuck, call Billy’s, and if you call Billy’s ask for Jordan.

We were passing through heading to south Florida and my friends Excursion got a crack in the radiator and Billy the owner took great care of us. They swapped out the old radiator with a new one in about 1.5 hours and we were back on the road. I highly recommend this company.

Integrity is one word to describe the service at this shop. I brought my truck in for some pricey steering repairs and got a quote the next day. After hearing the estimate I have them permission to begin work. When it was completed I was pleasantly surprised to hear they were able to do it in less time than anticipated leaving my bill hundreds lower than expected. I agreed to the initial price and they took it down because it cost them less- what a concept! I am a first time customer but will continue to use Billy and his staff for all my auto needs. I went into Billys a few days after driving up to Gainesville from South Florida and started hearing a rattling noise at the bottom of my car. I had just taken the car to a repair shop down in South Florida, so I was concerned that it was making strange noises because they did around $200 in maintenance. Billys checked out my car within 30minutes and discovered that the problem was a loose lug nut - which could have eventually caused my tire to pop off. They did not even charge me for tightening that and the other lug nuts on my car; I really appreciated their timeliness and the fact they didnt take advantage of me as I clearly am not a car expert and would have gladly paid any amount. An honest, timely, and great place! Id recommend to anyone and will go there if I ever have more car problems.

COMPLETELY AMAZING!!!!!! My tire exploded on the highway coming back from ocala and I was so distraught I didnt know what to do. Not only did they come and tow my car that same day BUT the price was AMAZINGLY affordable I was so impressed with their customer service and the rapid pace they moved. They held onto my car overnight for no additional cost and the next day I paid them to put the new tire on for me!!! I am so pleased with them and if I EVER need a tow or a friend does this is where I would send them! The hours are convenient and the prices are affordable. I tell everyone to use them!!!! Was told the price for repairing my car was around $1000.00. Was very nice and helpful. Really made us feel like we found the right macanic. Took the car to them and figured we would have my car ready in a few days. Then l got a call saying the motor had burned valves and blown head gasket. Would cost $4000.00 plus a new engine. Took the car to another mechanic and the price was just over 700.00 and as done in one day.

My wife and I cant give enough thanks to Billys Auto Repair & Towing.It was Thursday September 7, 2017We live just south of Tampa Bay.We had packed up our van with our personal possessions and three cats. We are part of the mass Exodus leaving Florida because of hurricane Irma. We ran into heavy stop-and-go traffic which caused one of our rear brakes to start locling up. We pulled off Interstate I-75 in Gainesville did a Google Search and found Billys Auto Repair. I called and spoke with Chad he reassured me that they could help me. Chad asked if we needed the toe or would we be able to drive to their shop. We were less than half a mile from their shop so I was able to drive there. Once there a mechanic named Preston inspected the van. Preston quickly diagnose the problem. Repairs were made and we were back on the road. This place is amazing. I came in at 8am super distraught having problems with my car. Literally everyone I talked to was so nice from Chad who I described my problems to, to any of the mechanics that just walked by. They diagnosed my car so quickly. I have never had such an amazing experience at a car place in my life (given this is my 6th car I have plenty of experience) 100% will always be going here and recommending it to there! They ordered the part and even gave me a ride home while my car was being fixed. Overall just amazing service

We have been using Billy’s since he was at the Shell station on NW 13th St (it’s a CVS now). Fantastic shop and exceptional crew. They get the job done, stand by their work, and will go the extra mile in a pinch.Their TOWING side is second to none in this area (read all the 5-star reviews). Got my Jeep stuck in a place I had no right being. I called them up and Bobby came & pulled me out ON THANKSGIVING. On private property. Behind locked gates! Hmmm... maybe I shouldn’t be telling this story...

I’m a college student here in Gainesville and finding a mechanic to go to who is trustworthy has been such a struggle until I came across this place. Last week my car overheated and I took it in to a mechanic I was previously going to, and they said my car had both fans broken and needed $1000 in work done. I came to Billy’s and had Chad (one of the mechanics) take a look at it. He told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car and both fans were functioning perfectly. His words exactly were “we’re not the type of place to tell you something is wrong with your car just to get some money, when there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.” If you’re looking for a mechanic whose word you can trust, GO TO BILLYS!!!!! I will be getting ALL of my work done here from now on.

We have been going to Billys for about 20 years now and have always been impressed with their service and integrity. They are completely honest and frequent recommend AGAINST spending money and come up with economical solutions to problems. The shop is clean and kid-friendly, as well. I would recommend them to anyone, anytime!

Very friendly people. They fixed my oil leak and wheel bearing on my car. They will go to great lengths to make sure customers are satisfied. I recommend this shop.

My 2006 honda civic broke down and I had it towed to Billys. They did a comprehensive diagnosis and found that there was a crack in the small block. Estimated cost was 3-5k. Luckily Honda had an extended warranty covering that exact defect and I was able to have Honda replace it entirely for free. However, I am grateful for Billys accurate initial diagnosis because it helped support my warranty claim. Thanks Billys!

I left my car here for 6-7 hours and they did not even check it out. It has a evident sound, Which I just recorded after leaving with my phone to have proof. you can immediately hear the sound as long as you drive it for 20 seconds. I believe they didnt even check the car and I find this completely unprofessional.

Billys Automotive Repair & Towing is the best automotive service I have ever received, anywhere. I could honestly go on for hours about how wonderful it was to deal with someone HONEST who truly had my best interest at heart. My car was struck by lightning and was unusable. Billy was towing it away within 15 minutes of my phone call so I could make it to class on time. Then, he spent an entire day running diagnostics on it and knew it was lightning before I had any idea that was what had happened. He even towed it to the dealer for me in an attempt to save me some money by using my extended warranty. All of this, and he charged me one towing fee. One! He advised me throughout the entire process and I really don t know what I would have done without him and his expertise. I will never take my car anywhere else in Gainesville and I have already told anyone who will listen about Billys repair shop and towing.
