My initial appointment made by phone was a little rushed & brash. I went based solely off of reviews. On day of appointment, I was not welcomed as I entered, but immediately questioned who I needed to see. I had mistaken John Rodriguez for the name Robert, & all of a sudden became the laugh of the entire office. Pretty condescending. I was seen immediately by my preparer “John,” & greeted with a warm welcome. Unfortunately we talked about everything good in life but how to save now, in the future, or how my investments could be an asset vs liability. Needless to say I wound up owing close to $1,000.00 In almost 50 yrs on this earth, I have never ever had to pay such an enormous amount. I usually break even. I was asked to give my bank info via email. That’s something I refuse to do with anybody...including a bank. So I took my leisure time to stop in & gladly provide this info. Again, the lady at the desk was so RUDE & just horrible. Luckily another woman who got my info was sweet as pie and pleasant. The cost to file was also about another $40 over budget. That was my least concern to support a business in good faith. But I totally lost faith in this company as a whole.

Best place for Taxes, I went some place closer to my home in Torrance once (and only once) Patty know her stuff better than anyone. It will save you thousands to drive out here to get your taxes done-believe me!

Its never a good thing when you receive a letter from the IRS. Even worse when you open it and theyre telling you that you owe an additional $10,000 !!! I had used Turbo Tax software and figured I had made some kind of mistake. I figured it was just a matter of clearing it up and reached out to another tax firm that was referred to me (Ted Montue of Montue, Woodard & Associates), to assist in correcting this issue. Long story short this other tax prep firm told me I was responsible for paying these taxes and sent me on my way. As you can imagine, I was shocked and very upset to get this news, but resided to the fact that I may have to pay it.With that said, I figured I would get a second opinion. With only a couple weeks to spare, I called Vince and sent him my tax info and the IRS letter. Upon review, Vince agreed, it indeed look to be an error and formulated the letter and sent it before the 30 day deadline to submit.I waited the 30-40 days and finally got the response in the mail from the IRS. Nervously, I opened the letter and got really good news! We went from the prospect of owing $9,800, to about $400. My wife and I are so grateful to Vince and the Tax Place. Having to pay out $9,800 would have been devastating to our family. Vince, took the extra time to figure out where and why the mistake was made, and was able to identify the problem where the IRS and this other tax firm missed.Thank you to Vince and The Tax Place!
