I had Top Notch Tree Service remove 1 tree and part of a second tree in my backyard. My backyard is fenced in with neighbors on both sides also with fences, so it is a tight space. Chad was very responsive and went over what would be done. Everything was done very professionally and they left the space very clean (they picked up all the debris, they even removed some branches I had piled from trimming a different tree!) I would recommend Top Notch if you are looking to have a tree removed.

Chad and his team came out after the tornado-like storm that came through part of Fredericksburg recently. We still had the top of a tree blocking part of our driveway that we just didnt have time to take care of and we just dont have the equipment to haul away.They cleaned that up, trimmed several large hanging limbs (from some very tall oaks), and cleaned up all the debris from the yard.Chads team wears a uniform and protective gear, something you dont always see. We had a very large tree removed and the stump ground after. We were nervous about it due to how close it was to our house but Chads team was extremely impressive with their level of skill and the care they took removing the tree. I would highly, highly recommend anyone to work with Top Notch, especially if you have trees close to your home or are working with a tight space!I originally called Top Notch to have a few leaning trees with dead branches looked at. Chad took the time to explain why he felt we should really remove most of the trees around our home, and pointed out damage and rot that was endangering our property.Our home is on a teeny 1/4 acre of land and we had 10+ trees over 50ft tall. Many of these trees were leaning over our home or growing less than 10 feet from the side of the house. With a chicken coop to work around, slanted driveway and almost no space for large equipment to get through I was incredibly nervous, but Chad assured me it would be no problem.Sure enough, over the course of a few days Chad and his team of incredibly skilled workers had scaled and cut down our trees branch by branch, section by section. Not a single twig ever bounced off the roof.Working from home and getting to watch through the skylight windows as the trees over my own head were cut down was nerve wracking, but I was quickly put at ease when I saw the absolute skill and mastery his team has working with trees. Chad and his team checked in every day during the process and were quick and efficient.They ground all the stumps, as well as a dozen holly stumps that kept growing back every year, trimmed all our other trees, spread all of the saw dust and hauled away all the debris. They wont leave your yard looking a mess.Additionally, I asked Chad if I could keep a few piles of branches and all the wood from the trees as we have a wood burning stove we use in the winter for heat. He went above and beyond and cut all of the long logs into ready to chop lengths and left the branches in tidy piles ready to dry over the summer!The process was so safe, I never felt any of the worry I anticipated. I had several trees removed by top notch and their name says it all. They are hands down the best company I’ve ever done business with. It was super easy getting and estimate and scheduling my service and even easier getting the work done. They showed up on time ready to work and wasted no time. Clearly communicated everything with me and got the job done extremely well and in a good time and oh my gosh they cleaned everything up perfectly. I can’t say enough great things!

I never review but they earned it. All Top Notch Tree Services came to my rescued. Had a door knocker came at first and did the third of the agree bid. I called All Top Notch tree service to come and clean up the mess. Chad came two hours after my called for an estimated. Schedule for the next day depending on the weather. The following day had rain call for the whole day. So I was kinda down thinking I have to wait. All Top Notch showed up early and got everything done within two hours. The price was great, the service was professional, speedy but safely. I already have them bid forth next project. Most likely my only go to forward.

Had them remove/trim a few Crepe Myrtles in our yard. The job was done quickly and professionally. Crew arrived on time and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Owner came by to inspect work and to ensure my satisfaction with the job. The price seemed a bit high but it is competitive with other tree service companies. Had Top Notch back for a 3rd time to cut two ~50 foot trees. One was a cedar tree and the other was a holly. There were power lines, cable lines, garages, stone benches, and shrubbery all in their way, and this was in a downtown Fredericksburg city lot which is only 37 wide. With no path to get the Cherry-Picker in the Top Notch crew had to climb both trees and by using rope lower each limb and trunk. Quite spectacular work to watch and behold. I highly recommend Top Notch. For sure everyone should at a minimum get an estimate from them before choosing a tree service.Had Top Notch back to cut another tree that was growing over the house. All Top Notch was excellent to work with and they did great work. They were prompt in returning my call, prompt with the free estimate, and prompt with scheduling me. I had an ~40 foot tree removed that hung over my house and the stump ground. They expertly cut the tree down and kept all branches away from the house. Chad was extremely responsive and professional. His estimate was the lowest (I got five quotes) and we were extremely impressed with the quality of service we received. His crew was very professional and capable. He owns an amazing array of equipment needed to remove trees, including bucket trucks. Among other trees, they took down three that were extremely tall/large, one of which leaned far over my house. They quickly and without incident removed the trees and cleaned up thoroughly. They used metal mats under their trucks to protect my lawn...no torn up yard or tire marks of any kind! Other companies said the job would take three days, but Top Notch did it in two, and did an outstanding job. My neighbors (all of whom have the same kinds of trees that need attention!) have been watching the speedy and professional process and are asking for contact information. I highly recommend!

Chad is a life saver! A few days ago, a tree fell on my house and did some pretty good damage. He came out on Sunday and chopped that bad boy up in a matter of 15 minutes as well as gave me reasonably priced quotes on other trees that I should get removed that pose a threat to the house. I got an estimate from Chad on 6/11. He quoted me $1200 to cut back branches away from my house and along the side of the driveway. I told him it seemed a little high and he said they needed to use cherry pickers and that he could do it for an even grand instead. I told him that was fine and he said hed have someone call me back the week of the 6/21. That week came and went and no one ever called me back. I went with another company instead....they were three times less than what Top Notch was quoting me and they didnt use a cherry picker.

They were professional and on time. They went above and beyond with removing tree branches and doing my yard work behind my fence.

My wife and I would HIGHLY recommend their services (No subcontracting, because he has all the equipment needed to do the work)!!! Based on the reviews I chose Top Notch Tree Service to cut down several trees, unfortunately they never showed up. On top of that, good luck getting in contact with anybody to find out what happened. The job was nearly $3000 dollars, which may not be much to them, but that’s not exactly cheap. Don’t use these guys use VA LAND CLEARING AND EXCAVATION instead.

It really saddens me to write this review. I was drawn to this company by its many favorable reviews in the first place, but I think others need to be made aware of the potential issues with responsiveness.The first time I reached out about having an estimate done my phone call was never returned. So I called again a week later and finally someone answered and scheduled one for me. Chad the owner came out and did an estimate for me to remove two trees, while not the cheapest estimate he seemed very professional and knowledgeable. I decided to move forward and called speaking with a young woman who said Chad would call back and put me on the schedule. A week later still didn’t hear back. I called again two more times leaving messages over the following two weeks. Now more than two and half weeks later no response. So I will be looking elsewhere to have the job done.

Top Notch is the right name for this company as their work is high quality. Chad is super friendly and easy to work with. His company came out and tackled a huge job by trimming off about 15 feet of a line of tree tops. Not only was their work an amazing improvement, but upon leaving there was no evidence of equipment being on the property. They have already been back to my property to do another job, and they will be the first company I think of to recommend, and call in the future.

I searched google to find a contractor who performs Tree Services and stump removal. The results produced several companies. Top Notch Tree Services had the best reviews. I do not know who is a good company or what is a good price, so I rely heavily on the reviews. I contacted Chad and he came by my house the same day to provide me an estimate to grind 4 stumps. He made recommendations to remove a few dead trees as well and said that he would grind some other stumps at no charge. His price was excellent, well within my budget, and he performed the work the next day. He arrived ahead of time, was very efficient with the work and getting the job completed; and, he and his crew did a tremendous job. The stumps were removed to ground level and the trees were cut to ground level as well. He stacked the wood very neatly, cleaned up the debris and placed the wood chips in area in my backyard that collected water. Top-notch is the perfect name for his company and I highly recommend him with enthusiasm. I will contact him in the near future to cut down some more trees.

This is the second time I have used All Top Notch Tree Service and the results were as good as the first time. We had four 100+ foot trees in our back yard, all in close proximity to our home. Two of the trees were dead and the other two were diseased. All Top Notch Tree Service expertly and with precision took the trees apart and removed them (and all debris) from our backyard. The employees were friendly and professional and finished the job completely. Chad and his crew arrived at my home at 8:30 this morning. His guys climbed 3 tall oak, and 2 Beech trees. They trimmed the dead branches, and removed those posing a threat to my home. In addition, they had to climb into 2 very tall (20ft) and mature Crape Myrtles. That is no easy task. The skill in which they worked, and with the apparent ease was truly amazing to watch. Chad was right there, overseeing the work from the ground and giving additional direction when needed. A real hands on supervisor. Once they were done, they cut the wood into firewood lengths, and stacked it neatly where I asked them to. They cleaned up neatly before they left - even more than they were responsible for. They were done in 5 hours, and had there not been a problem with a chainsaw, they probably would have been done in 4. They whole time there, his guys were polite and extremely professional. I thought Chad quoted me a fair price for the work, and he and his crew earned it. I am very pleased with the overall results, and will definitely call Chad again WHEN the need arises.

I had them remove an 80-90 foot maple, grind the stump, and remove the shavings from the stump hole. They also cut a 30 foot high, 10 foot deep, holly hedge down to about 8 foot high and 7 feet deep. I had them remove numerous branches from a second tree. It took them 8+ hours with the clean up.I couldn’t be happier! Chad Kearns, the owner, was here most of the day with his crew but to be honest his crew is so well trained that he had little to do. His crew wants to please the customer and are perfectionists. One man spent at least an hour making certain the top of the hedge they cut was flat and even. When they were finished cutting, they cleaned up everything in the yard. The yard looks better than before they got here. I used Top Notch once before and was happy with that job too. Considering the amount of time and effort they put into this job, they charged a fair price. Top Notch will be the only one I call for any future work.

Top Notch Tree Service is the best. We had a tree fall on our house, called Top Notch, within an hour Chad was here to give an estimate. Three hours later the crew arrived and went to work. Could not recommend a company more highly. Chad was exceptional in explaining which trees on our property needed to be taken out, then doing the work on time and with little disturbance to other features on our lot. When he realized that his team needed to take down a section of fencing to complete their work, he first called me to ask if I was okay with it, then put the fence back up afterwards with better support than it had originally. I have used Chad with All Top Notch Tree Service several times over the past five years and I will call on him to help me again and again in the future, no doubt. The first time, my neighbor recommended that All Top Notch be the company to remove an old maple tree on the boundary of our two properties, which was dying and endangering both our houses. They expertly took the tree down and ground the stump so that no trace of the tree remained. Top Notch tree service is exactly that. Top Notch! They cut my river birch down in my backyard. There where numerous obstacles to work around and they removed the tree without damaging a thing. I had a situation that needed to be addressed and they were very prompt and professional. I would definitely recommend them, the price was amazing. I had a dying tree that needed to be replaced or saved. I wanted to save it instead of replacing it because I didnt want to get rid of it if I didnt have to. I called All Top Notch Tree Services and made an appointment. They came out and did a great job. Chad was very polite and professional. Top Notch Tree Service is truly “Top Notch”We needed three dying trees brought down and one large oak trimmed. The team showed up and performed an outstanding job. The manner in which they brought the trees down was amazing. The care in trimming our large oak was done beautifully. It’s obvious a lot of thought goes into the process and technique in the removal and trimming. These men are true professionals and know what they are doing. They removed all the wood and branches and then followed up with blowing away any further debris. We would definitely recommend Top Notch Tree Service.

This was the second time weve had All Top Notch out for tree removal and we would gladly hire them again in the future. Most recently they took down nearly a dozen trees of various types and sizes in our front yard. Chad and his team were friendly and professional and had no problem getting the trees down without damaging the surrounding power lines and other trees. We also appreciated the great job they did in cleaning up our yard when the work was complete.

Chad came out to our home and gave a fast honest quote. Chads quote was equal to and a little less than other company quotes that didnt have proper insurance...Chad provided all license and insurance information we ask for quickly. Hence, why we picked them to do the huge job, 11 large trees clearing for us approximately 7000 square feet of usable space, Chad scheduled the time and then... He and his crew showed up on time and prepared! It was amazing how quickly and safe they worked! After watching the first leaning towards our house tree come down smoothly we instantly did not worry one more moment. We continued to watch them work only for sheer amazement.We will have chad and his crew back to continue removing trees off of our large wooded lot.Our property was left clean and all work was finished properly as we agreed per contract.We are 100% happy with All Top Notch.

Top Notch recently completed a huge clearing project (approx 25 trees) at my home in order to make room for a pool. Very happy with Chad and his team with Top Notch. Chad was on time for his initial estimate, with a no-pressure; professional approach. His estimate was quite reasonable compared to 4 other estimates we received. I had initially decided to use another company that had quoted a slightly lesser price, but Chad was the last estimate we received and he made a good impression. Great decision! Other companies stated 4 days of work with large crews. - Chad’s team of 4 finished the job in 2 days as promised. We had 14 large, old trees removed, along with stump grinding and elevation of many other trees in our yard. He was willing to negotiate additional work, even when I added them on the day of service. The crew seemed like a happy bunch, was on time, clean, polite and efficient. They were conscious of protecting my beloved shrubs, even when they were in the line of their work. Chad stopped by each morning and afternoon and even jumped in to grind some stumps to keep his team on schedule as stormy weather approached. We were expecting more bad weather on the 2nd day and Chad called us the evening before, to see if the crew could start earlier to stay ahead of the weather. Very proactive! We recommend Top Notch without hesitation and are already planning on using this company again, soon!

We recently had some trees removed and others trimmed by All Top Notch Tree Services. They did an excellent job. The crew knew what they were doing, they were very careful, and did the entire job in a professional manner. Everything was slick and clean when they finished. I was highly impressed with All Top Notch! I called Saturday, met with Chad within a few hours. By the end of the day Monday the four trees I needed removed were gone. His workers cleaned up after themselves very well. The price was reasonable in my opinion and quality of work and dealing with Chad was truly Top Notch. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone needing tree service.

Chad and his crew did a great job cutting down several trees on our property. I feel it is only fair to state that we did have two missed appointments, due to personal issues that Chad was dealing with but I will also say Chad did reach out apologize, and try to make things right. I usually dont give companies three chances, but due to all of the good reviews he is the one I wanted to use, and I am GLAD I did. The price was good. I appreciate the commitment to customer service, and to a job WELL done.

The Top Notch team is highly experienced and provided quality, careful and thorough service in successfully removing 12 - 60 foot high Leyland Cypress trees along my property line that were a challenge to remove with a house on one side and trees and plants to remain on the other. The Team made the project look so easy. They work together seamlessly and with thoughtful purpose that results in a Top Notch job.

I truly regret that I have to write this review. My first interactions with Chad were great. He was prompt about responding to my request for an estimate to trim two trees of ours and was very pleasant when we met in person. He sounded confident in what he was doing. I sent him an email with a few additional questions only a few hours after he left my home and never heard back from him. About a month passed before we were ready to have the tree work done. I tried emailing him once or twice more and still didnt get a response, at which point I then called his office/cell and left a message, which was still not returned. I had to go through the estimate request on his website to finally get a response from him. He emailed me and gave me a work date and time about two weeks into the future. That date came and went and there was no sign of Top Notch. I called and left a message about an hour and a half after their scheduled appointment time asking when I might expect them that day. I did not receive a follow-up until the next day when he texted me asking if he could come the next week. By that point, we had already been in touch with DJ Tree Service and scheduled for them to come out (DJ was great, by the way, and very prompt!). Perhaps there was something else going on with Top Notch at the time that resulted in the poor service we received, but there really is no excuse. We wanted to do business with them and they did not seem interested in reciprocating. If they were unable or unwilling to do the work on our trees, the professional thing would have been to tell us that up front. It was a very disappointing and frustrating experience that we had with Top Notch.

He walked the property with me and gave us a very fair and affordable quote for the work. Top Notch Tree Service did a fantastic job on the removal of four large trees near our house. The owner arrived for the initial consultation with his insurance certificate in hand, which was a nice touch. They removed the trees, stumps and debris before leaving. They even raked the grass clean of wood chips. I will certainly use these guys again and recommend them to anyone.

I called two tree companies, All Top Notch Tree Services and acompetitor.Chad (of Top Notch) was able to come out and give me an estimate the day I called. He worked out a price with me I thought was very reasonable.Chad was actually able to schedule this job ahead of some of his other work because of my need to get these trees down asap. I really appreciated that.His crew brought in the bucket truck and in no time had the trees safely to the ground. Chad was there the whole time.They did a great job. I had 7 different estimates done to take down 3 trees, one very near the home and the other 2 within the yard. While All Top Notch was not the cheapest, they also were not the most expensive either. But more importantly they were very professional. Excellent care in workmanship. The have the right equipment and expertise to the job and were very efficient. I would absolutely endorse them and will ask for them again in the future. Look no more folks. Chad (the owner) was true to his word. This is who you need. 5 stars.

Highly recommended tree service! Chad and his crew got rid of 6 trees in less than 2 hours. Chads business is very professional, efficient, and cost effective. Chad was here for the initial estimate 20 mins before our schedule time.
