I had this company repair the trim surrounding my garage. It has been less than a year and the wood has fallen from the supporting siding and wood. I have tried to contact rhe company several times to gain assistance with zero response.
Family friendly contractors is a great company with excellent customer service. I experienced water damage, which leaked from the upstairs bathroom through the kitchen ceiling. They were prompt and responsive, when coordinating the restoration. They were able to meet and exceed my intent, when repairing the home. Great work!
I have never taken the time to write a review, but quite frankly this one has been a long time coming. A little while ago I had the pleasure of working with Family Friendly Contracting on a complete head to toe remodel of a condo that I had purchased. Saying that this condo was in rough shape would be an understatement. It was simply uninhabitable at the time of purchase, but hey, the price was right. The condo is around 970 square feet, and was just falling apart. To give you a better sense, the previous owner was a smoker who never went outside. They also housed 4 cats in this home … apparently there was no need for a litterbox as the cats did their business where they pleased. As the place was around 30 years old, the owner hadn’t cleaned in around 30 years. It gets worse, but I will save you the more dramatic and disgusting details. Now that we are all on the same page…Steve Lyons came to meet with me at the property and did a walk through while getting a sense of what I was looking for. This encounter was not only extremely pleasant, but Steve did not make me feel like “just another customer”, or brush off my ideas and opinions in anyway. He built on them, molded them, provided options, and solutions to everything at hand. I would expect that some of these options would be higher end, come with a larger price tag, and pad the bill (as such is my experience with many “professionals”) … however this was different for once. Knowing the scale of the project and my budget, Steve came up with solutions that were smart, innovative, cost saving, and still encompassed my initial vision for the remodel. He embraced the concept that sometimes less is more, and simple can be better. If I was not in love with something, I was not pushed towards it. Ensuring that I didn’t have any buyer’s remorse was obviously a high priority. Once the remodel was under way I was kept informed of any issues at hand, and presented solutions to proceed. With Space being such an issue, these guys came up with amazing ways to create space and organization. The most impressive of which to me was moving the HVAC unit out of the wash closet and into the attic space while installing pull down stair for access, which also allowed for more storage in the attic! I was amazed and still am. They also created custom closet storage with his and her sides in each bedroom. In the smaller coat closet they made a custom shoe organizer; the best part is that they ensured that my large sized 14 shoes would fit in there. This is the kind of quality, solutions, and attention to detail that you can expect from this company.Who is ever going to be happy about a final bill? I will say I didn’t bat an eye at it. It was well within reason, and most importantly, within budget. Family Friendly isn’t the least expensive company out there; however, they are also not the most expensive. Quite frankly, I do not want to work with the least expensive, that is where nightmares begin and end up costing you more in the long run. I’d also rather not have to work with the most expensive, typically it is just not justified in the end leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. Family Friendly sits right in the middle. In my opinion, it’s not best to judge someone or a company based on how they are when everything goes right, it is instead best to judge based upon how they proceed to handle a situation when things do not … here … professionally, reasonably and quickly. You get what you pay for, or at least that’s how it should work. There was a time when companies were very customer oriented, and took pride in their work. Every now and then you will come across someone who still holds true to those older values, provides a personable costumer experience, and will go to no end within their means to ensure end result satisfaction. My only regret in working with Steve Lyons is that I did not take the time to get before photos of the condo to share with everyone now having seen the finished result. Proceed with confidence!
All 3 contractors who were in my home made me feel comfortable and respected. They were quick and thorough with their work and did a great job cleaning up after the job was done. I have 3 animals and they stayed vigilant not letting them outside as they came in and out of the home. I also have a child and it was important to me to have trustworthy contractors in my home, and these guys are!!! Their supervisor/company owner Steve Lyons came by twice during the 3day job and was in contact with me throughout making sure I was satisfied with the work. I have recommended them to friends and will definitely rehire if I have more work to do on my home. Their quality work and reasonable pricing coupled with their family values and friendly attitudes makes Family Friendly a superior company to work with.
I have used F.F. Contracting over 25 times and have always been pleased. My clients are always happy with the finished product. They are a company that I can put my trust into. Hands down my go to contractor for almost everything!
Family Friendly Contracting helped me when I had leaking in my basement due to HVAC issues. They came to take pictures and measurements, did the repairs and came back for final inspection, to take more pictures and make sure I was satisfied with their work. I am extremely pleased with the work they did to get my basement back to how it looked prior to the leak and they really live up to their name. Every person I came in contact with was extremely professional, capable and friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend them for your repair work and will use them again in the future.
I have been utilizing this company for over seven years for countless projects ranging from very minor repairs to large-scale commercial additions and renovations. Whether the job was $250 or $250,000, the quality and workmanship of the final product has always been top notch! You cant go wrong!
Hired F.F contracting for our roof replacement as well as some other work . Steve and his crew came in and did a great job . They showed up when they said they would . Communication was great . Steve was open and honest on some things that would end up causing some issues down the road so we took care of them now . The crews cleaned up at the end everyday .Would definitely recommend F.F Contracting
Steve Lyons the owner of this company is fantastic to deal with. His knowledge of construction and problem solving skills are far above anyone I have ever dealt with in any business. Recently called him out due to flooding in my basement. I was fully prepared to spend a lot of money on waterproofing and knew I wanted to go with him. I had asked 2 friends for referrals and they both said to call Family Friendly Contracting. After Steve arrived he started asking questions to me about my situation and eliminating possible issues almost as a doctor would. He somehow narrowed down my issue to being a cracked condensate line that was broken and dumping into my cinder block wall which ultimately was ending up on our floor through a small crack in the lower block. He told me to call my HVAC company who told me there was no way this was the issue upon arriving. I asked them to apease me and cut out the section of pipe feeding through the wall and it was cracked as Steve thought it may be. Very happy he showed up and saved me thousands due to him having a thorough understanding of how homes function. Only downfall is that he is a very busy guy and it took some time for him to get here. In the end well worth the wait.
Amazing customer service! Highly recommend! Look no further!
First, Ill start with the good. This company was great about coming out and giving us an estimate due to some extreme damage we had from a tree falling on our house last month during the windstorm, in early March. The estimator that came out did a great job and was a nice guy to work with. They also sent a crew to tarp the roof and they too, did an excellent job. Theres where the niceties...END. This company was assigned to us by our insurance company for the damage. The first red flag should have been when we were told to not even expect a call from a project manager for TWO weeks after the initial consultation for the damage. Well that call NEVER came nor did the person named Melanie that was assigned as a so-called project manager EVER get in contact with us. So another week passes, we reach out to the owner or whoever runs this company and were basically scolded like children for asking for some sort of timeline. Essentially we were told If we cant meet you needs, or timeline you should find someone else! What was their timeline? Oh, three MONTHS or so! Guess what, we did find someone else! I still have no idea why our insurance company recommended this business, if theyre so overwhelmed and they couldnt handle the job. Other calls to this place I was told things like, Oh yes theres been a hiccup with your project, etc. Basically if youre assigned this company, you might want to seriously consider someone else. They seem disorganized and not helpful or sympathetic at all.
Steve and his team (Craig, Mark and others) were a huge blessing to my mother and I over the last two months. In May, my mother experienced significant water damage to her condo due to poor work done by another plumber. Steve came onsite the day of the loss, assessed the problem, brought in a plumber to remedy the issue and created a thorough report including multiple pictures for us to turn into the plumbers insurance company. Throughout these two months of stress and frustration with the insurance companies as well as my Moms HOA, Steve was always there via cell or email to answer my many questions. His team came in and did an awesome job with all the drywall repairs needed, installing a new water heater and painting the entire condo in my mothers color choices. Steve was always available and would call if any questions came up throughout the whole process. I cant express my gratitude enough to Steve and all the guys at FFC that gave my Mom her home back again. They went above and beyond to ensure my Mom was back in her home on a very tight timeline, even around the July 4th holiday. I would definitely use them again and recommend to others. Great Job Steve and team!!!
Excellent contractor. Great team work with!
I don’t usually take the time to review companies like this but for Family Friendly Contracting, I had to make an exception. I have had companies work on my house quite a bit in the 20 years that I’ve lived in my Potomac, MD home and I have learned that it is VERY hard to find a decent contractor. Well I finally found one! Family Friendly Contracting was sent to my house by my insurance company to fix damage caused by a frozen water pipe. Although the insurance process took some time, once FFC took over, things moved along nicely. A very knowledgeable young lady named Melanie ran the entire job and even the owner Steve got involved when we experienced an unexpected hiccup. Overall, I will absolutely use them for all of my future home improvement projects.
Beadle and his Assistant were sent to check a leak. They were very knowledgeable about general construction which helped locate the leak.
Priced way to high
