I have had insurance with most of the major insurance companies over the years (Statefarm, Geico, Progressive and Allstate) and Allstate was by far the worst of them all. I had to file a claim on a motorcycle that ended up being totaled and they took forever, I had to call constantly to find out what was going on, they comped it against the wrong model, and they would only reimburse me for a value that was almost 40% under what it would cost to replace with a like condition/mileage model. In addition to this I inquired about trying to add homeowners and combine my other auto policies into one with them and they never responded. Since they were not interested, I switched to another big box insurance company and now have higher coverages and pay just over half as much as I was being charged at Allstate. And the icing on the cake is that after I switched and cancelled the policy, they are trying to continue to collect premiums and saying that they will file with a collections agency if I don’t pay them. After weeks of trying to find out why I would still be expected to pay premiums on a canceled policy… still no answer. Do yourself a favor and go with another insurance agency, they are overpriced and good luck if you have to file a claim.
