We have a house with a basement that has four columns in it, and we wanted to know what size beams we would need in order to support the load of the upper floor. We needed multiple options for A) removing all 4 columns, or B) removing 2 outer columns, or C) removing 2 inner columns. Nolan was punctual, friendly and answered all of my many, many questions. He sent the report back promptly and when I had follow up questions, he further explained everything I needed to know. I will highly recommend using SE&I to anyone who needs an engineer.

My family and I just had an inspection done at 2211 old natchez trace. Nolan Williams did the inspection. Having been in my trade at an early age (I now enjoy over 30 yrs in it) I respected his knowledge and getting in at the ground floor. Having been a laborer , then a framer myself and eventually working my way up to working for my builder, I appreciated his level of experience not from just schooling but old school starting from the ground level like his father taught him. Being a 3rd generation in my industry, I appreciate the level of experience he has been taught and his level of candor and honesty. I recommend these guys to anyone needing an inspection. I hired SE&I to look at the foundation of a house I was looking to buy. The inspector recommended I hire an engineer to look at some cracks that were possibly re-opening.They were professional and on-time. But the quality of work was poor. The inspector spent a total of 10 minutes evaluating the foundation in-person. I paid $155 per hour, with a minimum of two hours. So, I paid $310 for 2 hours of work, and he was in-person looking at the foundation for 10 minutes.He said the external foundation wall was not cracking. Two other professionals have given the opposite opinion, and the cracks are easy to see if you spend any time.His work was casual and inaccurate, and I got a more educated evaluation from the home inspector, who is not a licensed engineer. He did not care about his quality of work.Will never use again.

The engineer came to my house. He gave us two ideas to use for our garage. I cant use his plans. We do our own work on our house. I would have to hire a contractor . He would not give us any other ideas. I have used a engineer before for the top level of my house to take out 4 low baring walls. Money Hungry They lied about the time spent onsite & time spent on writing up an extensive report only to charge extra fees. Both are (not typical) in the paperwork they send out by the way. In my opinion they are extortionist by withholding documents until they collect any remaining fees above the initial $575.00 fee.
